Affliction Warlocks are one of the most versatile damage specifications in the game, dealing competitive damage in both single target and multi-target situations. Unfortunately, in order to compete with the AoE-burst oriented damage nature of Mythic+, Affliction Warlock is forced to spec into compete with the more up-front damage specializations in the game. However its utility definitely makes Warlocks viable, giving the group access to

Strengths
Very strong boss damage, among the best in the game.
Good priority target damage. Not quite as good as Subtlety Rogue, but few other classes can match what Affliction can do to priority targets. Made even better with multiple azerite pieces with

Alliance
None of the alliance races currently available for warlock currently provide any major dps increase over the other, nor do any of them provide a notable utility option.
Horde

- Arcane torrent is still heavily desired in Mythic+. In the new dungeons in BfA, there are many packs of mobs in dungeons that cast buiffs on themselves, which are easily removed with an Arcane Torrent in your group. If you find yourself running in groups with no Blood Elves, consider swapping.
巨魔
- Troll is the best pure DPS race for Affliction.

, making it perfect for increasing your cooldown damage.
Affliction Utility in Dungeons
Warlocks are entirely unique in their utility ability, in that even when they don't quite do the best damage, their spec utility will make them a strong candidate for spamming dungeons.

is even more powerful than it was in Legion, now that both Healing Potions from Alchemy and Healthstones don't share cooldowns. Having them available means more personal oh shit buttons.

has some nifty spots that allow you to skip entire groups of enemies in multiple dungeons. Check out the videos below for specific spots.

is a solid 3 second AoE stun that has a medium cast time. With a little bit of pre-casting magic, a very potent form of CC.

Any class that brings a battle-res to your dungeon is great - you always need one, and since both Blood DK and Resto Druid have fallen out of the meta you're hard pressed to find one.
General pet utility - Imp gives you

, which allows you to remove a magic debuff from someone in the group; Felhunter gives you a generic 24 second interrupt,

; and if you're in no need of either of those, you can pull out your voidwalker, which is your general AoE damage pet similar to the infernal of Legion, and can double as a pinch tank in a bad situation.

is often overlooked because of how many times you'll fear a mob into another pack, making a pull worse off than it was before you decided to make that game-saving play on the deadly mob running at your group - however, when used properly it can actually be a game changer. A rooted mob still casting? Toss a fear and ignore it for 20 seconds. All your interrupts on cooldown because your group is horribly uncoordinated? Keep fearing it's casts until you're ready to interrupt again. Without Life Tap, we can't spam fear anymore, but you can still cast it quite a few times before running out of mana.

, if talented) on it. Target takes 3% increased damage from your spells, stacking 3 times. Not really possible to keep stacked on multiple targets.

is largely unchanged from Legion. Single target nuke that also increases damage the target takes from your abilities by 10%. What has changed from Legion is that both the cooldown and duration are both 15 seconds, so it's possible to keep 100% uptime on the debuff with good GCD management.
牺牲魔典
: Sacrifices your demons and in exchange, it sometimes deal a small amount of shadow damage single target. Also, give you the main ability of the sacrificed pet.
For every situation,

is the clear-cut winner. You won't have time to stack up any meaningful amounts of

on trash packs, so it's never going to be a good choice in mythic+. Sacrifice is actually damage loss to take, so don't ever take it.

gives a decent chunk of intellect for every other soul shard you gain. This has a pretty high uptime, and thus is quite good in multi target situations where you'll be gaining multiple shards.

is a stacking buff that increases both the damage and healing of your next
吸取生命
. While not necessarily the best dps talent, this allows you to turn your spread cleave damage into a single focused damage burst spell, incredibly useful for bursting down a specific dangerous mob, or a boss.
Inner Ring
压倒能量
gives a large amount of Haste on proc, which is a strong secondary stat for Affliction warlocks. The best simming trait in this tier by far.
鲜血虹吸
is not a particularly strong dps trait, but the leech adds significant value, especially in mythic+ where your healer's objective is to output as much damage as possible while leaving the group alone. If you're healing yourself passively, your healer won't have to worry about you as much, which is a good thing.

is a solid option for mythic+ since, the AoE portion of this trait will hit more often than not. It can end up doing a pretty significant portion of your damage in dungeons.
Middle Ring

is prydaz's little cousin. You gain a shield every 30 seconds, essentially increasing your maximum healthpool. Great for living big hit mechanics.

is a solid trait for mythic+, where enemies are constantly dying. You'll do a pretty decent amount of healing throughout the dungeon just from the extra healing this trait gives, and is also a lifesaver on packs with one large mob and small enemies such as the saurid packs in atal'dazar.

is a little more active of a defensive trait, but is very powerful for keeping yourself alive in dangerous situations. Stacking these traits makes you essentially unkillable to ticking damage.
Recommended Azerite Pieces
The tables below show both the best readily available Azerite item from weekly content (i.e. Mythic Uldir, Darkshore Warfront, etc.) , and the best item available from purchasing items with

. While I certainly do not advice using your

until the new raid releases in late January, I'll list the best available pieces here for futureproofing and for those who do not care whatsoever about efficiency going forwards. As of note - there are also PvP items that have the most optimized pieces available here, but I'm not listing them due to them being relatively unobtainable for the average player.

Mastering Affliction in Dungeons
Cooldown Usage
Affliction is a relatively easy spec to play from pack to pack, but the real difference between a top-end player and a regular player is one who uses their cooldowns effectively in dungeons. Between Phantom Singularity, Dark Soul: Misery, and Summon Darkglare, you're looking at a 45 seconds, 2 minute, and 3 minute cooldown. Using them together is obviously a damage increase, but delaying cooldowns is a dps loss. So how do you effectively use cooldowns in a dungeon? Ideally, you'll have cooldowns up for every boss at some point. You don't necessarily need to have them up at the start of the boss, unless it's particularly dangerous and needs to die ASAP, for example, the third boss in Temple of Sethraliss, Galvazzt. Phantom singularity you can use as close to cooldown as possible, but it's generally better to hold a second cast on packs for the next pull if the pack is close to dying. Using both Dark Soul and Summon Darkglare together with Phantom Singularity on large aoe pulls will exponentially increase your damage, so if you're doing a smaller pull and know a larger pull is coming up, it's generally a dps gain to hold your larger cooldowns for the next pull. Make sure you're constantly communicating with your tank to pull the dungeon in a way that increases the efficiency of your pulls.
Pet Usage
As a warlock you'll have to choose between three pets in different situations. Generally speaking, you'll want to use your

. It's the only way warlocks have access to an interrupt, and unfortunately it's also a long cooldown at 24 seconds. On top of that, it also comes with a relatively low cooldown purge in

, which is an excellent tool in this expansion's buff-rich dungeon group. There are some bosses and situations where you might want to use your

, which is the best single target pet for warlocks, and also comes with a magic dispel in

this is useful for fights like Atal'dazar's Rezan, where your pet can auto-dispel the fear, making it so you don't have to move. Finally, you can opt to just use a

. In AoE situations, this is the best damage through its ability

, which does passive AoE damage similar to what Legion's permanent infernal did.
Common Mistakes
Not being proactive about defensive usage - With
黑暗契约
on such a short cooldown, it's incredibly easy to spam off your defensives in any situations where you know you'll take some amount of incoming damage and save
不灭决心
for a more dangerous situation. On top of that, warlock has access to self-healing at small damage loss through drain life, so there's no reason for a good affliction lock to ever die to slow ticking damage. A dead dps does no dps.
Not properly using CC - Like mentioned earlier in the guide, Fear is a great fixer for situations where your group has massively messed up a pull. What other class can stop a cast 6 times in a row? Shadowfury is a solid AoE stun, great for interrupting channels or stopping Spawn of Ghuun casts, and Banish can be used to freeze particular mobs in place for pulls, as well as stop a mob from getting bolstering stacks.
Useful Items to Consider
These items are for general use and everybody may use them. It is recommended to have a stock of most of these items with you at all times.

- Made by Blacksmiths. Allows party members to repair. 1-hour cooldown. Very useful if you cannot mount up to repair.

- Increases movement speed by 150% for 8 sec. Very useful to perform certain skips and reduce the amount of time moving about the dungeon in certain circumstances.

- The imbiber gains invisibility for 18 sec. Places all potions on a 10 min cooldown. If any ability is cast, the invisibility is removed. Very useful to perform certain skips and avoid dangerous or time-consuming mobs.

These items are only usable if you have the respective profession learned, and have learned the skill in that profession.

- Reverses the flow of time on a target that recently died, restoring them to life with 60% health and 20% mana. Castable in combat. Takes about 5 sec to fully cast. This is a must for classes that don't have battle resurrections (such as Hunters) in there toolkit. Classes with battle rezzes are still highly desired over resorting to this though as the long cast time is a big turn off. This is better than nothing though for us non battle res classes.

(Engineering) - Enchant your belt to allow you to fear an enemy for 5 sec. 1 min cooldown, shares cooldown with potions. Be wary as the feared mob might wander into other packs.

(Engineering) - Enchant your belt which gives you the ability to knock back an enemy. 1 min cooldown, shares cooldown with potions. Allows you to knock back an enemy, interrupting spell casting.

(Engineering) - Enchant your belt which creates an absorb shield, preventing some incoming damage. 1 min cooldown, shares cooldown with potions. Another on use defensive to have at your disposal if needed.
开锁卷轴
(Inscription) - Gives you a lockpicking skill of 600, 1 time use. These can be used to unlock certain doors such as gates in Tol’dagor.
镍铜万能钥匙
(Blacksmithing) - Another key that is useful for Tol'dagor. Allows you to unlock doors but has a one time use.

(Leatherworking) - Increases Haste by 25% for 40 sec for all party members.

Dungeon Affixes and How to Deal With Them
激励
- Try to kill all the mobs around the same time to avoid buffing other mobs around it. Affliction warlocks are one of the best dps in the game alongside subtlety rogues for this affix, as we do the same damage to all mobs passively with our DoTs, then we can funnel our soul shards into one particular target or multiple targets based on which mobs need to take more damage. Inevitable demise's damage can be incredibly useful on these weeks.
崩裂
- This is more of a group-oriented affix. Make sure not to dps things so as to chain the debuff to higher stacks. Communicate with your healer to know when it's ok to burst AoE a group of mobs down with defensive cooldowns.
暴怒
- You honestly don't really play much differently when this affix is on. You can hold extra soul shards for when mobs hit 30%, but generally speaking just being aware of which mobs are more dangerous at this point is far more important than anything else. Paying attention to dangerous mobs that have spell casts that need to be interrupted is generally the difficulty of this affix.
血池
- Similar to bolstering, but with less consequence, make sure to try and kill mobs as close together as possible to minimize the possibility of mobs healing each other with their pools.We used to be able to knock mobs back with our Succubus, but unfortunately that spell was removed from the game.
繁盛
- More targets to DoT, nothing really special here. This might change up pull order in dungeons pretty significantly, so make sure you check out the teeming routes for each dungeon.
易爆
- Affliction warlock is one of the weirdest specs in the game when it comes to Explosive Orb killing. While a 15-20 stack Inevitable Demise buffed Drain Life is about the perfect damage for killing an orb, it wouldn't quite make much sense to use a 50 stack one on a single orb. Aside from that, nothing in our kit aside from Haunt does anywhere near enough damage to kill an orb. It will generally take 2 Unstable Affliction casts, or 3 Shadow Bolt casts to kill an orb, so we're pretty dead useless on this affix.
重伤
- Use Drain Life as much as possible to heal yourself out of grievous range and help your healers. Be prepared to drop lots of Healthstones throughout the dungeon.
死疽
- Communicate with your tank for when he's about to kite with high stacks. A well placed Shadowfury is generally enough time for a tank to get away and reset their stacks.
震荡
- Not much to mention here, just don't get silenced and spread out from your group. There are multiple weakauras available on WaGo to both time possible quaking spawns, and tell you exactly when quaking will hit your character to try and time spell casts around it.
无常
- Not much to worry about, due to very little up-front damage, so you don't have much of a chance of ripping threat from your tank.
火山
- This is a pretty easy affix to deal with as an Affliction Warlock. Just pop some DoT refreshes off whenever you have to move.
收割
- Themed to the Battle of Dazar'alor raid, Reaping is the seasonal affix for 8.1.5. Every time your group hits a multi of 20% mob count in the dungeon, Bwonsamdi respawns the dead enemies you've previously killed in the dungeon as one of three particular mobs;

- Do nothing but melee, applying the stacking debuff

to their target.

Once killed, a respawned mob will not respawn for the remainder of the dungeon. If the group wipes to anything while reaping mobs are alive, the next time the group hits that 20% mob count threshold, the remaining reaping mobs will join the new set of ghosts. In addition to this, Reaping mobs have a very large agro radius, making them difficult to skip if choosing to do so.

On Fortified weeks, groups will sometimes immediately go towards the first two packs on the left and use Bloodlust on trash instead of the relatively easy first boss. This pack consists of

Boss Tips
Rezan is almost always the first boss you deal with in Atal'dazar, unless you're running a specifically crafted speedrunning route.

While most players will need to line of sight for

If you ever do happen to get eaten (or get eaten on purpose because you run with a paladin and they have BoP available), you can do most of your rotation while in the mouth. DoTs do not require you to be facing the target to cast them, so refresh DoTs or fire Unstable Afflictions away.

Most of this trash is skipped due to the difficulty of the trash packs here, but generally speaking you'll only be dealing with very first two mobs - a

Make sure if you're performing any skips here that you're either mounted or your pet is dismissed. Pets pulling while skipping is the #1 reason for warlocks being kicked from groups in 2019.
Boss Tips
Vol'kaal has two phases - In phase 1, you'll need to evenly dps the totems down, while in phase 2 you'll need to dps the boss down. Pretty simple. Typically you'll use your second

here, due to dungeon timing and diffculty of pulls.
In phase one, DoT every

and funnel your

s and other single target spells into the highest health totem. Your DPS is incredibly efficient in this phase, so make sure to take advantage of that. Make sure all three totems die at the same time. Vol'kaal will leap to random players in the group and periodically cast

, which needs to be interrupted. Save cooldowns for phase 2.
Once phase 2 starts, pop

s in each group, and make sure you have interrupts assigned in case you're pulling more than one. Generally speaking, a melee dps can lockdown one enemy, due to the cooldown of the spell they use.
Make sure to stay loosely stacked so not as to incur any extra AoE splash damage to anyone within 3 yards of you, but close enough to melee so that the saurids aren't jumping too far from the group of mobs.
Do not pull

and the rest of that patrol. Their mechanics are a pain to deal with, and the mob count in this dungeon is incredibly easy to reach without having to deal with them. You can avoid them by walking anywhere on the complete edge of the middle circle.
Definitely make sure to save your cooldowns for this pack. The enemies before and the boss afterwards do not require them, so the natural flow of the dungeon generally encourages this.

Boss Tips
Priestess Alun'za is about as close to free as a boss encounter gets. Left alone, this boss will kill herself quite quickly as long as you're doing fight mechanics correctly. She has two major mechanics, both of which happen every cycle, determined by her energy. She periodically spawns blood pools on the ground, one for each player. At 100 energy, you'll want to walk over one of the blood pools, which will cause her to take roughly 5% of her health in damage per player per transfusion cast. Also each cycle, she will spawn one

which will try to consume the Blood Pools, prolonging the fight.
Felhunters can purge the damage buff,

, every time she casts it.
Warlocks can also permanently banish any one

At this point, you should have completed your trash percent, allowing you to head straight for Yazma. Head back to the bridge, and up the spider infested stairs at the back of the instance.

Yazma is a single target, cyclical encounter which gets more difficult the longer the fight goes on. The main focus of this fight is avoiding

Warlocks are boss damage kings on this fight. Let the more efficient AoE classes deal with the soul spawns, unless your strat is to keep them alive for more single target boss damage.

Freehold
Freehold is one of the best dungeons in BfA, due to its versatility. Affixes change the route considerably, as well as the weekly changes in the Council of Captains and whichever RP event is going on that week. Despite all the possible changes from week to week, it's one of the easiest dungeons to complete due to an easy timer and cheesy mechanics available in the dungeon.

Once you've reached the boss room, you need to spawn the boss. This is done by pulling either of the two packs that are comprised solely of

s - one located at the entrance to the arena, and one is at the bottom of the stairs behind the arena. Generally you'll pull whichever pack doesn't have any infested mobs.
Boss Tips
Skycap'n Kragg is a two phase fight, with phase 1 being short and relatively tame, while Phase 2 can be hectic for melee and be quite taxing on your healer. Once Skycap'n Kragg reaches 75% health, he'll dismount from Sharkbait, and Sharkbait will once again start raining down bombs from the sky.
In Phase 1, the only mechanic Skycap'n Kragg will do is a random periodic charge at a player in your group. Love your melee, and don't stand too far away from the boss.
Once Phase 2 starts, immediately get to max range from the boss. Ranged players have the luxury of competely ignoring all mechanics on this fight. Standing at max range (>35 yards) from the boss avoids all damage from

, which is the major one shot mechanic on this fight - getting hit by 2 of these in a row is dangerous for any player.
Also in Phase 2 only, you can stand outside of the arena to avoid any of Sharkbait's

Once completed, the event will make one of the captains friendly, unlocking the encounter against the other two captains and providing you a specific type of buff available during the encounter.
Captain Jolly
If players spot a pug in this area, this means that once the event is completed, Captain Jolly will become friendly. Players will need to chase the pug to several different spots, eventually unlocking a cage holding Lokhtos Darkbargainer. Unlocking the cage causes Captain Jolly to become friendly and completes the event. Hunters, Mages, Rogues and Druids can all chase the pug without actually having to pull all the trash in this area due to stealth.
Captain Eudora
If players spot several Vulperas that are highlighted, this means that once the event is completed, Captain Eudora will become friendly. Players will need to speak to one of the Vulpera. Doing so will get you drunk for 1 min. All 5 party members must do this in order to complete the event. Typically, the easiest Vulpera to talk to is the one near the building, closest to the Council o' Captains fighting area.
Captain Raoul
If players spot two highlighted
黑齿拳手
attacking a target dummy in the middle of this area, this means that once the event is completed, Captain Raoul will become friendly. Players will need to engage the two in combat to start the event. Once started, four additional enemies will run towards the group. Once all 6 enemies have been defeated, Captain Raoul will become friendly.
Of note: once you complete the RP for unlocking the second boss, certain mobs in the dungeon will go friendly. Make sure you're not neutering your mob count by completing the RP too early.
Before starting the boss fight, you'll want to clear the arena. On the path down, you'll counter another pack of rats. Dispose of them quickly, then deal with the new mobs,

Usually, this includes doing the Harlan Sweete encounter, since the boss doesn't present much difficulty and there's very little trash in between the Council of Captains encounter and him. We'll be listing the encounters and their trash in dungeon order here.

Boss Tips
Harlan Sweete is another three phase encounter, this time all in one mob. In phase one, his mechanics will only target a single player. In phase two, once he reaches 60%, his mechanics will target all players in the group. Finally, in phase three, when he reaches 30%, he takes double damage and has double attack speed.
Once the boss reaches 60%, the entire group should stack and move together to deal with

. This saves space in the room, especially since you've cut off a large portion of the boss room by skipping trash.
The only other major mechanic to deal with are the periodic

spawns which will fixate players and explode for AoE damage if reached. You can fear or mortal coil these mobs if all other cc is tapped in your group, but this can be quite dangerous, as the mob can be feared into the trash you skipped, pulling it and potentially wrecking your boss experience.
King's Rest
King's Rest is the premiere Linear dungeon. This dungeon is quite literally on rails - you will do the exact same pulls every week, regardless of infested, fortified, or tyrannical. After the most recentl batach of 8.1 nerfs, King's Rest isn't quite as brutal as it once was, but it's still no pushover.

Once deal with the Golden Serpent, you'll run down the hallway to encounter another roleplay area. There are 4 seperate packs, which will each spawn on their own in a different order every dungeon. Each has a miniboss and their own set of unique mechanics to deal with.

The most efficient way to deal with the

is to pull them at the same time - the rule of thumb here is that they'll only imprison members of your party in the coffins on the same side of the room as them. What you'll want to do is pull one slightly past the center of the room (towards where the other one is waiting), and once the imprison cast goes off, pull the second one. The reasoning behind this is that the coffins has an internal cooldown on how often they can be opened, so if you pull the constructs too close together, a player might be left in the coffin for a little extra time, costing you both dps and time.

is a single phase encounter where players will need to do the same thing they did on trash - free members of the party from the tombs when imprisoned.

takes up a large amount of space when dealt with incorrectly. Make sure you're leaving lanes open to get to coffins to get players out.
To help with breaking players out, place a gateway to the side opposite of where your group is. Reducing travel time is a great way to save time.

is a two-phase fight where the party will need to deal with both of Dazar's dinos and their unique mechanics. Dazar has three unique abilities. First, he'll cast

s will only spawn in one of two patterns - a circular pattern around the room in a clockwise manner, which can be dodged completely by just going behind the start point, and a back and forth pattern, where you'll just have to sidestep every spawn.
Motherlode!!
Motherlode is an interesting dungeon - There's an absolutely massive amount of trash, so the pulls you'll do week to week will vary greatly depending on the infested pattern. This is probably the complete opposite of King's Rest in terms of trash percentage. Where King's Rest barely has enough trash to make mob count work, Motherlode probably has more than double available.

and attempt to activate it. If, for whatever reason, you don't want to deal with the Peacekeeper, you can stun or otherwise displace the mob to cancel his attempt. He will not reattempt to activate any mobs after being intially stopped. In the current meta, we'd ideally let every Mech Jockey we can activate a peacekeeper. There are multiple reasons for this, so let's break it down;
An infested

will no longer be infested if it activates a peacekeeper. This allows you to AoE it down with a group, something you couldn't do if it were still in mech jockey form. It will still drop two spawns of ghuun when it dies, so make sure you keep that in mind!
Allowing an activation to go off will give you about double the mob count, making the pull that much more efficient.
On top of all this, Mech Jockeys are incredibly dangerous when being kited -

Boss Tips

is a single phase encounter where the group must knock the bombs the boss spawns back at him, putting a stacking debuff that makes the boss take increased damage. Outside of the bombs, there are three mechanics the group must deal with.

will be periodically casted, knocking back all players in the group and dealing moderate damage. Finally, the boss must be kited out of

The proper way to deal with bombs on this fight is pretty simple - since you have 15 seconds to kick the bombs into the boss, you can kick the first and second into the boss immediately - wait until the debuff is about to fall off, then kick the final bomb into the boss, refreshing the debuff on a 3 stack.
As an affliction warlock, you want to start winding up your Darkglare during the initial bomb debuffs. Ideally, you'll cast your Darkglare the second the boss gets 3 stacks, allowing for a massive Deathbolt.

Once done with Azerokk, hop in the mine cart down to the large open area. Careful for the bombs once out of the cart. Most groups will have all of their mob count or close to all of their mob count here, maybe dealing with one or two packs, then death skipping to the final two bosses. Should you choose to deal with trash here, there are a couple of major mechanics to deal with.

When done correctly, the fight will require a lot of movement. You'll want to move in close to the boss for

Shrine of the Storm
Shrine of the storm is a typical linear dungeon, with quite specific packs you pull depending on the infested pattern that week.

At the very start of the dungeon, you'll come across a

have a passive aura around them, causing all other mobs to take 50% less damage. Because of this, you'll typically want to pull Templars separately from other packs. In this particular case, the neutral mobs have very little hp compared to the Templar so you don't need to worry about this.

will periodically cast a buff on themselves, called

. This can be dispelled or interrupted by our felhunter. (make sure you give mages in your group the chance to spellsteal this buff if you're running with one)
Especially important in this dungeon - Neutral mobs do not bolster aggressive mobs, but the opposite does occur. AoE away at the start of this dungeon, worry free.
After dealing with these, you'll walk onto a platform overlooking a large area full of several mob types -

(If you're having a hard time picturing this, you'll essentially be going to the bottom of the waterfall.) Done correctly, you can easily gateway down without pulling anything and be able to set up for the next pull. Once down here, you'll encounter another patting

, which you should cc with a non-agro cc while you deal with the rest of the trash here. Similar to before, there are a large number of neutral mobs with similar packs of mobs. Deal with them the same.
Boss Tips
Aqu'sirr is a simple two phase encounter, that i can't help but feel like some bald guy had a hand in designing. In his first phase he'll cast

at random. At 50%, he'll split into three smaller versions of himself that will also all cast those three spells. Once all three are dead, the main boss spawns again and you finish him off.

is a weird mechanic that a lot of people seem to have trouble with. You'll want to look at where his front shoulder is pointing when the ability is winding up, or, for a super secret high end player only secret, check which way the arrow on the boss target circle underneath him is facing. Easy way to tell where he's headed. On higher tyrannical keys this will either one shot you, or knock you off where you won't be able to be battle-ressed. Don't be that guy.
You can stun, fear, or mortal coil the tentacles from

The trash in between the first and second bosses is comprised of essentially mini versions of the second boss, as well as other trash mobs that do abilities similar to the boss. If there's ever a dungeon where blizzard decided to make trash preview the boss, this section of the dungeon is a perfect example of that. Coming down the stairs from Aqu'sirr, we run into

The final miniboss,

Tidesage Council is a two boss encounter which combines the abilities of two of the minibosses to make up one encounter. Galecaller Faye will take on the same abilities as

, and will need to be similarly locked down with a tight interrupt rotation. You'll want to focus her down. Brother Ironhull takes on the same abilities as

, dealing a large amount of tank damage as well. He generally is kited, making it somewhat difficult to stay in runes throughout the fight. This encounter is quite hectic, so you'll generally want to have Bloodlust available for this fight. The faster Galecaller Faye dies, the easier the fight is to handle.
Like mentioned above, you need to lock down Galecaller Faye. This is the single most important portion of the encounter. Two casts going off close enough together in a high key is an instant wipe. It's especially important to interrupt her after she places her haste rune, both to move her out of it and to prevent her from spawning more tornadoes.
When Brother Ironhull places his damage reduction rune, make sure the bosses aren't inside too long, to prevent the removal of debuffs. Players should stand inside the rune to remove their debuffs should they have gotten any from being hit by tornadoes.
Rune placement is based on where the other member is. Galecaller will place her rune on Brother, and vice versa. Use this knowledge to your advantage.

Clearing the far left pack from the second boss will unlock a skip from the terrace where Windspeaker Heldis was. In a dungeon with no checkpoints until the third boss is dead, this can be pretty essential.
Once through these mobs, you'll go inside and encounter two

s. These constantly cast a stacking debuff on your group, so you need to quickly cleave them down.

These two mobs take an awful long time to deal with for relatively small mob count, so many groups will opt to skip them to two non-combat CC's. Sap, Imprison, Cage will all suffice here.
Once done with that room, you'll encounter a final bridge full of

s. These trash packs are particularly dangerous, and are generally skipped by any means necessary; Shroud, battle resses, or death skips. If you do decide to take on these packs, you'll essentially never deal with the first pack - they spawn two unique mobs that deal ridiculous tank damage and should never be dealt with. Once past that, there are two packs the patrol vertically on both sides of the bridge.

is a disgusting frontal ability that should be dodged at all costs, that will either kill you, or should you happen to live, leave you stunned for 5 seconds.
Once off the bridge and inside, you'll encounter large packs of

s. Like the two

s, once pulled they will transform and cast

on players in your group. While these packs typically melt quickly, if you have high stacks the packs can be fatal so toss out a Shadowfury or some fears to help your healer out. There is some RP while Lord Stormsong spawns, so typically in between these two packs you'll want someone to run towards the boss to start the RP, then run back to help with the pack.

Lord Stormsong is a relatively easy mechanic encounter, with a difficulty rate scaled by the level of the dungeon exponentially.
You'll need to keep an eye on
虚空箭
spell casts. Typically, only 2 melee are needed to deal with these interrupts, but if one of them happens to get mind controlled, be ready to provide a backup interrupt.
Occasionally the boss will choose a random player in the group to mind control. When mind controlled, try to hit as many of the shadow orbs as possible to break yourself out. The clearer the room is, the easier the boss gets.
On higher m+ levels, you will need to dps the Ancient Mindbender down a little bit. Make it a habit to DoT them for a single target increase.

When Lord Stormsong dies, there will be a small amount of RP. DO NOT IMMEDIATELY JUMP INTO THE WATER. You will die and give a nice +5 seconds to your counter. You'll need to resummon your pet on the other side of the water, because blizzard is a small indie company and doesn't know how to make pets work still. An easy way to get through the water cave is to simply hug the left wall of the cave.
Once on the other side, players will encounter two

Vol'zith the whisperer is a two phase encounter in which you'll need to set up and coordinate interrupts. In phase one, you dps the main boss man himself down, while avoiding the negative space zones he puts down. Throughout the entire fight, he'll spawn

which you'll need to quickly sidestep to avoid. Once he reaches 100 energy, he'll transition to phase 2, where he'll split the dps from the healer and the tank. As a DPS, you'll have to deal with two

similar to the ones you encountered when reaching the platform. Once both the DPS phase and the Tank/Healer phase have been dealt with, you'll go back to phase 1, where the boss will need to be interrupted to start the phase. Once interrupted, the boss will spawn several

which slowly creep towards the boss. If they reach the boss, they'll give him extra energy which will make the next phase 2 happen sooner. If they die or reach the boss, they'll explode for large party-wide damage, so be careful about killing multiple at the same time.
During each phase 1, Vol'zith will cast

on your healer, a stacking damage and healing buff. As of 8.1, this can no longer be cast on DPS.
In phase 2, you'll need to coordinate interrupts while focusing down one of the adds. This is probably the cause of 99% of wipes on this boss.
Siege of Borallus
Siege of Boralus is a linear dungeon with very little budge for alternate routes. The trash pulls will be similar on both Fortified and Tyrannical, but usage of Bloodlust will certainly vary. Horde and Alliance have slightly varied intros to the dungeon.

If the boss reaches you, you'll knock you back and deal heavy damage to the fixate target.
If you're target, you'll need to kite the boss into

Bombs. This will both stop the fixate, and stun him for 6 seconds and make him take 50% increased damage for the duration of the stun.
If you aren't able to hit a bomb, the boss will start dragging you towards him, dealing massive damage. It's best to not fight it, as whether or not you're able to live this cast, he'll do a large cast

Instead of killing Marksman adds, it's better to CC them. Killing them will just cause more to spawn later, so instead of dealing with them, don't deal with them at all. If your group is light on CC, you can keep a marksman permanently feared.

The blasts in phase 2 seem to be the most difficult part of the fight for most players. Imagine there are three vertical sections of the room, coming from the ship. She'll target each random section with a section of blasts, which can overlap, then once all three sections are highlighted, all three can go off in any order. The most reliable way to dodge this mechanic from my experience is to find a safespot in one of the first highlighted zones, as the likelihood of an overlap blast filling the safe spot you're in are much, much lower there.
It's possible to CC the Deckhands when they spawn on the ship. If done correctly, new ones won't spawn in new phases.

There are essentially two ways to dps these guys down - one, burst aoe them down. Second, if your group has the proper CC, you can cc lock all 4 of the mobs, and kill them purely with the spotter's

With the snipers dead, you'll want to keep the spotter alive. His

On certain weeks where you can buff the Spotter's damage, such as bolstering or raging, in an ideal situation you'll want to keep the Spotter alive for the duration of the Hadal encounter. You can do this by either hard CCing him (ideal) or rooting him, meaning he'll still be casting his debuff throughout the fight. Either way, your healer will be unable to regen mana outside of combat regeneration until Hadal is dead. Once Hadal dies, your healer can regen mana by suiciding to the final boss' water droplets and drinking after releasing.

Will solo carry damage on the tenacles in the final encounter and make the boss a joke.

is a one phase encounter that must be completed three different times on three platforms in order to defeat it. In order to do this, you'll need to free a Kul'Tiran Engineer which is being imprisoned by

, by dpsing it down. At the same time, you'll need to dps down the

s which are constantly spawning. Once the
攫握恐魔
is dead and the Engineer is freed, he'll repair the cannon and enable you to shoot Viq'goth himself, dealing 1/3rd of his health. This must be repeated again in the next two areas to complete the encounter.

s must be tanked, or they'll slam the ground dealing aoe damage to your party. If you're ever falling way too behind on damage you can try to make a hero play and summon a voidwalker to tank one of the tentacles for a short period of time, letting your group catch up.
On any given platform, a maximum of 5
攻城恐魔
s may spawn. If you have plenty of time left in the dungeon, it's very safe to just methodically cleave these down to make sure you never fall behind. This isn't quite ideal, however, because once you kill the gripping terror, demolishers stop spawning. If your DPS is high, you can get through one platform with only one or two spawning.
Make sure you're using your Imp on this fight. Singe Magic can be used to dispel any debuffs on this fight.
Dropping gateways between platforms is a great way to minimize downtime.
Temple of Sethraliss
Temple of Sethraliss is a very linear dungeon, with optimized routes for each infested setup fleshed out. Unique to Temple, inbetween each boss there are simple minigames players will have to quickly navigate in order to progress in the dungeon.

The trash at the beginning of the dungeon is pretty annoying to deal with, so a lot of groups tend to skip via shroud or deathskips. On top of this, Address and Aspix are a relatively lethal encounter, so you'll want to use bloodlust here, therefore making skipping and putting bloodlust on cooldown asap a solid strategy. If you don't have any great method of skipping, or you plan on doing trash anyways, here's how to deal with it.

The objective in this area is to carry the two Eye of Sethraliss to the snake skull at the end of the room. Standing in your way is a literal army of

s. If an Orb Guardian gets close enough to one of the eyes, he'll snatch it from the carrier and run back towards the orb's initial spot. The only way to get it back is to kill him. Once you have both Eyes in the skull, the skull will open, revealing the final pathway to the boss.
Depending on the group, you can quite efficiently deal with this area by having your tank round up almost all of the mobs in the room, allowing the orb carriers a free route straight to the skull. Once done, let your tank die, then res him.

s are the main concern in this area. The smaller mobs will continue to respawn regardless of how fast you kill them. Once you've dealt with the

s, the room is free. However, this is quite inefficient.
Taking any damage from any mob will cause you to drop the orb. Make sure you constantly passing the orb ahead of yourself to mitigate the possibility of you dropping the orb and not being able to pick it back up.

s. Heart Guardians are the real danger in these packs, dealing massive tank damage (like they do in the boss fight), and they will pull once any mob in their pack is pulled.
The main way most groups will deal with this trash is to Stealth or Invis to the boss, and wait until the last phase of the boss to pull trash. Once in the final boss of the boss, the group is buffed with a massive damage, healing, and damage taken buff, making it pretty much impossible to die. One player will then pull the remainder of the trash into the boss to to simply be AoE'd down.

Tol'Dagor
Tol'Dagor is a heavily cheesable dungeon, with relatively easy boss encounters and trash that borders on some of the easiest in the game. Completely linear, the routes are pretty fleshed out for this dungeon.

It's entire possible to completely skip this floor with a Rogue shroud - the rogue can always come back and get buffs for the groups on their own.

consists of two phases, the first from 100-70%, followed by Jes unleashing a large amount of prisoners along with Bobby. In both phase 1 and phase 2, you'll need to deal with Jes's fear cast, which is interruptable, as well as flashing daggers, which is LoSable. Generally, you'll use your second bloodlust to deal with phase 2 more clean. In 8.1, this fight was reworked to make you have to interrupt Jes' cast in phase 2, to actually deal with her mechanics at the same time as everything else. Bobby also casts an AoE fear, which must be interrupted like Jes', as well as his own ability,

is quite easy to LoS. Rule of thumb - if you can't cast on the boss, the boss won't be able to hit you.
Phase 2 can get hectic with how many interrupts need to go out. Make sure you're communicating your interrupts within your group so no AoE Fears go off.
During the run following Jes between phase 1 and phase 2, you can have a preset Demonic Gateway, allowing your group to more efficiently get to the final spot. Help your boys.

This fight essentially boils down to effectively stacking all of the barrels in the same corner. 1 or 2 people can pretty effectively deal with this on their own, but work together to ensure the room stays clean and put the barrels in the same corner.

After Knight Captain, you'll have another section where you'll need to group up mobs to shoot a cannon at. Nothing too special to deal with. If you already have mob count, it's possible to either death skip or invis skip all of this trash by pulling it all up to one side of the boss room, letting your group run by, then dying. Your group can then res you and move on to the boss.

The tip to playing a ranged dps on this fight is always having your back to a wall. Ideal positioning for this boss is to have the tank in the very far back left corner, at the top of the steps. This lets you have two spots for ranged dps to be both stacked up enough for aoe heals, but spread enough to not cleave each other, while also having your back against a wall to not get knocked back.
Underrot
The Underrot is a very straightforward dungeon, with some incredibly nasty trash at the beginning, and some very interrupt heavy trash in the middle. The bosses get exponentially harder the higher the keys go, and routes will vary quite a bit depending on which infested configuration your group has that week.

will travel in a straight line, from the side of the boss where it spawns. IT's a very slow moving projectile, so if hit by it you'll almost get one shot, and definitely two shot. Get out of the way.

s are incredibly nasty mobs that will fixate random party members, meleeing them for massive shadow damage. Kiting these is its own art form - kite too far away, and they'll simply charge you, stay too close and they'll melee you. However, if you stay at a middling range, they'll always stay just out of range of both abilities. While this isn't necessarily the best thing to do, it can save you in a rough situation.
In addition to their fixate, they'll also cast
音速尖啸
, dealing large AoE damage to the group, and silencing players casting when the cast goes off. This should always be interrupted.

s are yet another dangerous mob. Their

casts should also always be interrupted, as letting one off will stun a player in the group for 30 seconds until the debuff is healed off. If this ability goes on you, you can help your healer out by healthstoning.
Some warlock specific tips here - The most efficient way to pull this room is in a couple big pulls in the front, followed by a couple big pulls in the back. Your front end pulls will be dictated by how many infested mobs you can CC at the same time. Warlocks can banish both

The group should stand in between a wall and the boss in order to bait

, reducing the overall area that

s can spawn it, making stomping on them much easier.
Place a gateway from the center of the room to your groups' chosen stack point. This makes it easier to get back to the stack point once you're done stomping

Right before Sporecaller Zancha, players will have to deal with two

s. While you can skip these, you'll definitely want to kill them to free up areas in Sporecaller's room. Defilers have three specific abilities to look out for.

is top priority. It deals massive party-wide damage and should be interrupted.

should also be interrupted. It will place a magic debuff on all members of the party, reducing damage players deal by 10% and increasing damage taken by 10%.
Finally, defilers will also cast

, placing a totem on the ground that will stun all players in a short range. Simply move away from this totem.

is a simple single phase encounter, where the group must clear the spore pods around the room before the boss reaches 100 energy, at which the boss will explode a remaining pods, putting a stack of

on random party members. The goal is to use these two abilities to clear as many of the spore pods as possible.

Waycrest Manor
Waycrest is a dungeon that has multiple possible routes, randomly selected when you start the dungeon. In order of difficulty, from easiest to hardest - Top Left, then Bottom Right, then Top Right.
As soon as you start the key, there will be 7

on either side of the stairs. These only do tank damage, and can be mass pulled and AoE'd down with cooldowns.
This guide will be explained to you as if the top left door was opened. I'll include other packs that would be in the other routes after the dungeon is complete.

The Heartsbane Triad is a relatively unique encounter, in which three bosses are dealt with at the same time. You'll fight each boss until they reach 50%, at which point they'll hand off the active mechanic to the next. Once each boss is at 50%, you'll rotate back to the first, then kill each boss one at a time. Each boss that is inactive will take reduced damage, making multi targeting pointless. The active boss will be holding

. While a boss is active, they gain energy. If a boss reaches 100 energy, they'll begin to cast

, which is essentially a wipe. You failed the DPS check. Each boss, even the inactive ones, will cast a single target damage nuke, however the active boss' nuke will do increased damage, making it a priority to interrupt. Affliction is a very weird spec to play on this encounter. Due to the nature of the fight, you woon't ever really get full usage of cooldowns on this encounter, so what I like to do is DoT each target, then split my opener between the first and second bosses - Solena and Malady. This way, you'll get some of your opening burst on Solena, but still have some extra damage done to Malady once the iris is handed off.
Sister Briar's special ability,
锯齿荨麻
deals a large amount of inital damage which has one-shot potential on higher keys, and on top of that, deals damage over time afterwards until the player is healed to 90% health. If you get targeted by this, stack your defensives and help your healer heal you afterwards.
Sister Malady's aura,

, can be annoying to deal with if you're not used to how it works. Move while refreshing DoTs, and if you want to cast a spell, only stand still for the cast time and make sure you instantly start moving afterwards.

The entire courtyard can be used for fires to reset boss stacks here - you can toss a gateway down for your tank to reach the further fires here.
The only real dangerous damage that goes out in this fight is if your tank triggers a stack reset on the boss while

. Fortunately, the tank damage on this fight is relatively low (except for on necrotic week), so the adds can be pretty much passively cleaved down or entirely ignored.

Boss Tips
Lord and Lady Waycrest is a two phase encounter. Initially, you'll only be dealing with Lord Waycrest. Every time he reaches 30% health, Lady Waycrest will siphon some of her health to heal him back to full. After doing this a third time, Lady Waycrest will join the fight, starting phase two. From there, you'll have to finish off both bosses to finish the fight.

is a debuff that, when dispelled or falls off, leaves a void zone on the floor that must be moved out of. Make sure you're not stacked with anyone when it expires.

is constantly casted throughout the fight. Although the damage from this isn't too heavy, the tank damage on this fight is pretty substantial so your healer won't have much time to keep you topped. Help your party out by not getting hit.
When Lady Waycrest comes down, you'll want to finish off Lord Waycrest first, while making sure to interrupt all of Lady's casts.

s will always leap to the furthest target, so it's possible to bait the leaps onto their tank by having the tank constantly kite away from them.
Some groups opt to have mob count at this point, and it is possible to death skip these mobs by having one person run through to the top of the boss room, while the rest of the group follows slowly after and runs down towards the boss out of combat.

is a single phase, relatively simple boss encounter where the main mechanic is to control and dispose of add spawns. Gorak will periodically spawn

throughout the fight. These will channel

on random players in the group, stunning the player for the duration of the channel. Once killed, the add will need to be burned with

, which can be picked up from their random spawns around the room. If not burned, the boss will resurrect the adds.
As of 8.1, all stuns work to cancel the add channels. Because of this, some groups will opt to not burn adds and instead keep them alive for classes that benefit from having adds up for single target damage. Their channels can be dealt with by all sorts of aoe CC.
If not dealt with properly, adds can get out of control quickly. Being overwhelmed by multiple channels at the same time is the easiest way to wipe to this boss.
At 100 energy, Gorak will cast
恐惧精华
, which heals existing adds to full and resurrect those that haven't been burned.

I think this guide is understating the usefulness of

on high keys. The talent is not essential but really helpful if you're having trouble keeping dots on everything. If you coordinate with the tank, you can do some really big pulls. The ring/talent combo is great on these pulls because
mobs won't cast spells if the tank has agro but is out of range

Everything between 2nd/3rd boss in NL can be pulled together and kited around the cave
Almost everything in HoV can be kited all the way back to the entrance (who needs interrupts when you can kite?)
All the trash between 3rd/4th boss in BRH can be pulled back to the 3rd boss's room and kited around the circle - just need to dodge the lancers' leaps
These are the main ones that I can remember off the top of my head but I'm sure other dungeons have similar kiting strategies
The hard part is usually on pull where the tank needs to go in alone with
天行药水
and generate enough threat on everything. Alternatively, the tank can use warlock portal to go into a pack, generate threat, and skystep out of range.
Finally, be careful on affixes that are punishing with a lot of mobs like bursting or explosive (although your group could try to LOS or outrange the explosions).

Nice guide, but one thing is missing or not clear enough. Legendaries and combinations for different situations. There is only one list what's count as good/mediocre or low/bad leggo. Would be better to have a list near it for AoE, Cleave and ST, because or even for every instance/dungeon would be nice to assuming what's counting as good-or-bad. For example, Head+Power cord is one of the strongest in m+ on ST and cleave (if you are familiar with multi dotting... ) but here in the list the Power cord flagged as just mediocre, what is clearly not a good suggestion.
A few personal suggestion, in dungeon triumph the soul ring pretty good because the massive trash packs and the execution time. Also, in HoV, on the first boss, prydaz+head or cord+prydaz is a must on high level (20+) if you aren't geared on high (below 965) because if the fight too long, could kill you. And keep in mind, Heimdall in HoV never goes to low healt, so don't use the soul ring or the Death embrace talent.
