Arms Warrior is a high damage melee class that excels in AoE burst and mitigating big hits of incoming damage, while high mobility allows them to have good offensive uptime. Their short cooldowns allow players to maximizing damage on most groups of enemies with minimal decision making or preplanning, however, Warriors lack utility in dungeons due to a lack of crowd control and immunities.
This guide relies on the reader to be familiar with rotation and general class concepts. This understanding is then molded and built upon to be more successful in dungeon content specifically. An introduction to Warrior, abilities, rotation, and non-dungeon content can be found in our

Strengths
Good damage on short cooldowns
: specifically AoE burst from

. These periods of high damage throughput allow for difficult or priority targets to fall faster. Burstier damage makes difficult trash packs more manageable and reduces the room for error.
High mobility

is a versatile ability that allows for both offensive and defensive movement. Furthermore, it can prevent fall damage for when you accidentally walk into a tornado or walk off a cliff. It also has a unique ability to be able to skip over gaps or walls in certain dungeons avoiding trash packs.

: Plate armor helps mitigate physical damage and

is a good defensive cooldown that can parry melee and ranged attacks including many boss mechanics. Furthermore,

The damage difference between each race is relatively insignificant, however, there are some notable utility abilities which distinguish themselves in dungeons.
Alliance

Talents
There are a few small variations, which can be found below.

is the best choice. It provides on demand rage that fuels

. Furthermore, this is an optimal filler for lulls in the rotation, where as a proc based talent such as

in between your auto-attacks to minimize losing rage generation, a tracker for swing timers is highly recommended. If your group does not have good Crowd Control,

is the best option here due to the amount of damage this talent offers. Furthermore, it is very effective when cleaving with

provides recovery in healing based on maximum health. This effect is not guaranteed to be active when needed.

does not break from many damage over time effects. However,

I would recommend one passive trinket and one on-use trinket that buffs your burst if playing

. Otherwise, I recommend playing two passive trinkets. As always you can run simulations on which is going to match your gear the best using the online
Raidbots
tool. You can select the type of encounters such as Hectic Cleave, Single Target, and Dungeon Slice.
On-Use

is very good because you can chain the crit buff from pack to pack. Each stack provides a crit bonus when consumed or when the target dies. Therefore apply

to a new target every pull and the crit buff will carry over into the next pack when that target dies. This is a very strong option.

and provides really good burst. This trinket can only be acquired through Player versus Player content. Therefore, unless you have higher rating in PvP, this trinket will be more challenging to obtain at a competitive item level.

- Baseline mastery with on-use strength on a 1.5 minute cooldown. Similar to the PvP trinket this is a viable option; however, the 1.5 min means it will still be ready to use every second

Not only does this trinket have to proc but your abilities also have to crit with it for it to be effective. It is not reliable for it to be active during burst windows.

is an okay alternative to passive stat trinkets on tyrannical weeks that shines on bosses. Use

just before it procs at 30% to increase the odds of criting and doing a lot of damage.

talented. It offers a slight boost to rage, but most importantly, big damage. I often recommend burst as it helps with high priority targets.

is very powerful in AoE burst scenarios. On single target, this trait has the best effect during execute because of the stacking strength and rage that can be spent on

Due to the refreshing of the shield being 30 seconds it is still fairly effective against damage over time effects. As a note, the shield is a static value, it does not scale with your own health.

Recommended Azerite Pieces
With the traits above in mind, here are some of the better Azerite pieces to look for in advance of the Battle for Dazar’Alor raid. While you may not be able to get a perfect setup, go for highest item level pieces available that have a few traits from the above list when deciding.
This list also keeps in mind the most realistic options considering item level 415 pieces. While a piece off of the world boss Ivus might have decent traits, it will eventually fall behind ilvl 415 gear.

These are recommendations based on the having rank 3 of the essence. Your gear and traits will have an impact on what is going to be best for your character. A higher rank essence may perform better than a recommended rank 1 or 2 essence.
Major Essence

- this rank 3 essence provides the highest burst damage on a 90 second cooldown whilst being prominent on single target. It relies on having optimized gear in comparison to

Minor Essence

provides passive rage regeneration,healing, and versatility. This fills a lot of lulls in the rotation and provides exceptional synergy with Anger Management. The versatility bonus is quiet good as well.

has a random chance to proc an AoE damage effect that becomes significant at rank 3. Similar to

Mastering Arms in Dungeons
An important part to any dungeon group is having good communication and a positive mind set. Discussing strategies, crowd control, and cooldowns will enable the group to succeed and improve. Always look inwards first on how to improve yourself before addressing group or cohesion issues.
Maximizing Damage
Playing to Not Die
An interesting fact is that if somebody including you dies, their contribution will be zero. It is imperative that you utilize your utility and defensive cooldowns to survive.

allows you to be able to have additional survivability at any point in time due its short cooldown. So if there seems to be a lot of pressure or out going damage, playing it safe is usually the smart approach.

are similar but have a significantly longer cooldown and therefore are far more selective in use. Do not be afraid to use

Cooldown Management
Warrior has some of the strongest on demand burst in the game. This means that using cooldowns at optimal times provides significant bonus to the group regularly. This potential value might make you feel that you need to hold to your cooldowns to use it in those mega optimal situation. The vast majority of the time this is wrong. As a result of
愤怒掌控
, cool downs are very short.
灭战者
comes to be around 30 seconds. You should press this off cooldown as frequently as possible. These extra casts will increase your overall damage throughput significantly. This same rule applies to
剑刃风暴
; however, because this is a longer cooldown having to hold it for 30 seconds might be the correct play if after that time you have a significant enough increase in value. This is a matter of decision making that will get sharper after analyzing the outcome. On a further note, unlike most classes we do not gain incredible amounts of value by having our cooldowns up immediately going into a boss pull. On single target our damage is more consistent in nature.

should also be utilized as frequently as possible; however, it will have more value during

windows and within execute range. Therefore, holding this cooldown to sync with either of those two conditions will be more effective.
Priority Damage
Something that DPS meters do not represent is the amount of useful damage or priority damage. It is cool if you are topping the meters, but padding can be a massive deficit to your group as a whole. Non-padding or priority damage can be viewed as damage throughput that is multiplicatively more valuable. An excellent example is with a marksman under the effect of raging. This can be deadly if it picks a lower health party member, it would be safer to utilize a more optimal single target damage rotation and nuke this marksman down instead of doing AoE damage.
Maximizing Utility

One of the most important aspects of dungeon runs is interrupting important casts. Having a system in place to coordinate is key. I recommend making a binding a key to mark a mob. This will announce to the group that you are responsible to

that marker. Try to not use skull, as this usually communicates the priority target to kill. Additionally I recommend a Weak Aura(addon) that will track group interrupts and allow you to cover other player's assigned spot. There are many available on

Warriors may not have the greatest amount of crowd control but utilizing

provides a slow that costs rage to use. This may not be the most effective in large group of mobs, but might provide that extra edge to help the tank kite one or two mobs. Remember that you can use

Other Utility
Warriors provide an active health bonus with

. For example, this can help a squishy target live a one-shot mechanic on a boss. Furthermore,

to parry the melee attacks is an underrated external that can help out in a pinch whilst keeping you the player safe from dying.

prevents the Warrior from being fear or getting out of a fear. This is useful to minimize the loss control of your character.

Weakaura suggestions
Weakauras 2 is an addon that allows players to execute commands to display additional information on the screen. There are a large amount of available options to customize the display. There are many pre-built packs that can be explored on

. Additional details and requirements are written in the description section of each weakaura.
Nnogga's Interrupt Tracker
displays the party's interrupt cooldowns. This is one of the most beneficial weakauras to assign kick orders and cover for other players.
ZenTracker
allows to track group cooldowns and spell usages such as interrupts and crowd control.
Nnogga's Party CDs
utilizes ZenTracker to also displays party's defensive and offensive cooldowns. This can be useful to coordinate a large trash pull if multiple players have offensive cooldowns.
Zuleh's CDs
is an alternative display that is similar to ZenTracker.
M+ Nameplate Target Warnings
shows a player name who is being targeted by a damaging ability on enemy nameplates. This is can be utilized to know when to use defensives or crowd control to live the damage while low on health.
Dungeon Affixes and How to Deal With Them
强韧
- Mobs have more health and damage. This affix is more punishing on missing stops on important casts and standing in cleaves.
残暴
- Bosses have more health and damage. This makes boss fights long and scary. It is likely that boss mechanics will one shot you.

is necessary on a lot of Tyrannical bosses.

- When a mob dies it buffs all other units around it with health and damage. Try to avoid pulling multiple trash packs together that have different health values. Kill mobs as evenly as possible, and

when other targets have significantly higher health. It might make your damage look worse, but will clear the dungeon faster.
血池
- Pools of sanguine will spawn from dead enemies. Avoid standing in it and do not stun mobs inside them to prevent healing done.
破胆怒吼
can be used to fear mobs out of sanguine puddles.
崩裂
- When a mob dies it applies a stacking dot on all players within range. If doing a large pull, kill mobs at the same time as possible to minimize the length of the bursting. Utilize defenses such as

with large stacks. Do not stagger deaths and extend the duration of the dot. Let it drop before applying additional stacks to your group.

- When mobs get low they will deal double the damage. Make sure that your group has the utility required to stop casts when they are below this threshold.

Additional trash mobs will spawn. This can make certain packs extremely scary due to additional casters. Make sure that your group has a strategy to deal with this additional requirement for interrupts.
易爆
- Mobs will spawn Orange orbs around themselves that will explode and deal group-wide damage if not killed. Only single targeting abilities work against these. They are the highest priority target. If doing high keys and you require two hits to kill them, consider playing Fury which thrive at killing Explosive Orbs.

- When you are below 90% health you will gain a stacking dot until you reach 90% health again. Use

- Warriors greatest fear is Skittish. The amount of threat generated by tanks is severely nerfed. When doing large AoE packs be patient with your cooldowns. Wait for your tank to gain the necessary threat. If you are going to rip threat swap targets or worst case use

to avoid melee attacks.

- Don't stand in volcanoes.

- The dungeons will be littered with 3 emissaries, Void, Tide, and Enchanted. Each have unique auras that will affect how to approach each individual pull. One type of emissary will have be featured more frequently throughout the dungeons than the other two. A weekly rotation dictates which emissary is going to be favored.

does not. If no ranged or healer can keep this mob out of the group, use weaker single target spells against it to create space for the rest of your group if needed.

Dungeon Strategy and Walkthroughs
There are a couple general rules of thumb that help mold specific dungeon strategies. Making sure that your pathing and your route play to group cooldowns and strengths. One of the tools that can help ease difficult encounters is

Be careful this large amount of damage will pull threat and ranged shoots will kill you. Try to have a threat misdirection class, like hunter or rogues with you while doing this strat.
