Character Boost is one of the many services Blizzard made available for purchase to players on their in-game shop. This service is used to instantly level a character to level 60, preparing it for the first steps of max-level Shadowlands content. On this guide, you will learn how character boosting works, including first steps, contents of a character after boosting it, and how to unlock contents from previous expansions on a boosted a character.
You can obtain Character Boosts in two ways:
Purchasing the Shadowlands Expansion, Heroic or Epic edition, gives you a Character Boost free of charge.
Subsequent Character Boosts must be purchased in the in-game shop, only accessible from within the game. A Character Boost costs $60.
Boosting a Character
After your purchase is confirmed, a boost button will show up near the
Change Realm
button in your character selection screen. When you click it, a new menu will pop up, which will guide you through the rest of the process.
This new menu offers you two different boosting options:
Boost an already existing character in your current realm.
Boost a brand-new character in your current realm.
Boosting an Existing Character
Note: If you boost a character from an Allied Raceit won't be elegible to unlock
Heritage Armor
.
In order to boost an existing character, all you need to do is to select it with the boost menu open. After selecting your character, you will be prompted to select its main specialization.
This decision will control which equipments you will receive once the boost is finished. You will receive a full
item level 148
gearset.
After selection a specialization, you must press the
Next
button. Doing so will prompt a first confirmation window. If everything checks out, click
Level Up!
. Lastly, a final prompt will appear, asking if all information provided is correct, if everything is right, click
Level Up!
.
After that step is complete, you must wait until the process is completed, which maybe take a few minutes or a couple hours, depending on the availability from the servers.
Note: Boosted characters are unable to enter dungeons and raids from previous expansions for 24 hours.
Character After Boosting
Once the boost is completed, your character will appear in Oribos, by western edge where the portals to Stormwind and Orgrimmar are.
After finishing your class training, you will have access to your talent selection screen (default keybind N). Your character will have all first talents in each talent row selected by default, and while in a capital city or rest area, you can freely change your talents. After finishing your class training, you will also be able to change your specialization, if you so wish. You can read more about which talents your character should have in our Class Guides!

Unlocking Shadowlands Content
When you first log in on your boosted character, you will find yourself on a gunship flying atop Icecrown. This gunship serves as the tutorial for your boosted character, where you will learn about your most basic spells. Once you're done with the gunship tutorial (or simply Hearthstone out of the ship), you will appear in Oribos.
All Shadowlands leveling content including zone achievements will be completed on your boosted character, and you will have one quest in your questlog:
天命之选
, where you will head to the Enclave and choose your Covenant. After this, you should be able to start Shadowlands content as a fresh level 60.
Bag Contents
When the boost is complete, your character bags are replaced by 4
烬丝背包
, which gives you a lot of bag space. You may also unlock 4 extra backpack slots
by attaching an authenticator to your Battle.net account
. Inside your backpack you will find:
炉石
set to Oribos;
An
冒险者的床头柜
, which contains weapons suitable for the specializations you did not choose when boosting your character.
A
完好的救生背包
, which contains:
20
神肴仙露
- Restores Mana to your character over 20 seconds when used (only on characters that use Mana).
20
蜜梅馅饼
- Restores Health to your character over 20 seconds when used.
10
宁心书卷
- Allows you to change talents while not in resting areas.
灵魂治疗药水
- Restores health instantly to your character.
灵魂法力药水
- Restores mana instantly to your character (only on characters that use Mana).
500 Gold
Next Steps
Once you get accommodated to your character, you will likely start your journey through Shadowlands. Below, we will detail how to unlock contents from past expansions!

instead of completing the quest.

: Still using the
英雄的召唤布告牌
/
酋长的命令布告板
, you can select breadcrumb quests to all Cataclysm zones. The initial available zones are

A nice helpful guide to those new or those that have not been steadily leveling 110's this expansion and need a reminder.

Currently the starting quests to open up the Nightfallen aren't available to boosted 110s. They're "working on it" but I don't think it will be completed by the time the emissary goes away in 7-odd hours from this comment.

According to support article:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/137381
professions should be boosted to 800 as a Veteran Reward, they are not right now, GM mention they are working on it tho!

Also important: You get no hearthstone to your Draenor Garrison and in fact, you have none and will have to do the intro questline for Draenor. Unlike the garrison level 3 boost you got with the level 100 boost.

Lvl 110 boost doesn't include a lvl 3 garrison. There's a trick tho how you can do it. First make a lvl 100 character trial and then use your boost. Voila, you have your garrison now !

I hoped you will ger your class mount with the boost but according to the guide you will have to complete the campaign for yourself

OK I'm sold....
one point though. I don't understand why they'd set your hearth to Dalaran rather than just leave it as is and give you a Dalaran hearthstone
:/ Odd decision.
*EDIT* Contrary to the original article text, you actually get a Dalaran Hearthstone in your bag, the same as non boosted characters.

Selected specialization Artifact Weapon
Class Hall Unlocked - You start your Order Hall campaign right after the Class Hall unlock.
It means that if you boost a class you never played you're gonna miss that content.
You can use a class trial to play the artifact acquisition questline.
After turning in the quest to get the artifact you have 10 minutes to finish the class hall unlocking if you want to do it yourself.
Note that some classes, e.g. Warrior, unlock their class hall before getting their Artifact Weapon. Others, e.g. Warlocks, have to kill a boss after getting the artifact to fully unlock the Class Hall. If you want to do that fight you have 10 minutes to do so.
On the boost selection menu. Choose the specialization you already have the Artifact Weapon so you can enjoy getting the other ones.

I don't think I like the fact that your initial Artifact Weapon is given to you. One thing I love about Legion are those initial quest chains to get your weapons. If I start a new class I do not want to miss out on one of weapon quest chains by boosting.

If you create a trial character, and then boost it, do you get the veteran bonuses?

Do they get any sort of interesting Transmog armor, the way 100s did in WoD?
Which as you remember was later added as Salvage Yard rewards so you could collect it without boosting.

Can anyone absolutely confirm details about starting a lv100 trial toon and applying the boost to that toon? I had been planning on using this boost on one of my other toons in order to get their Garrison up and running like the start of Legion, but if an old toon won't allow that perk, then I need to know before making a brand new trial 100 toon.
So:
Can anyone confirm that boosting a lv100 Trial toon will get you a Garrison already established? What lv is it, and etc?

Currently there is an issue with select Suramar as you will not receive the follow up for the Arcane Anomaly as it will show up, but you can't click on it to start Suramar even after starting the chain through your Order Hall. According to @BlizzardCS on Twitter they are working on that as well.

I boosted a LF Draenei Pally and didnt get any professions, as per mentioned in the guide. Not sure if this was intended or accidental. Anyone else experience this?

Has anyone tried boosting a Trial toon that isn't one of the new subraces? So far some folks have weighed in that trial subrace toons haven't been getting profession boosts, but what about old races? For example, take a regular lv100 Trial toon Tauren and boost him to 110? He should have his Garrison already, but will he have his professions boosted to 700 as well?

Does boosting have any effect on Heirlooms? I seem to remember it boosting my heirlooms as well last time I used one.

If I boost my hunter, will my pet tames be removed?

Just a little FYI for people doing this for the first time, since I had a little bit of a mini heart attack over this. If you boost a character it clears out your quest log and inventory, BUT it sends you your complete inventory through the mail. I was working on the Venomhide Ravasaur mount with my level 60 Hunter and was up to 15/20 teeth. When I saw the raptor pet, teeth, and quest were all gone I almost freaked out. But luckily the teeth were in the mail and a quick trip back to Un'Goro Crater got me the pet and quest picked up again where it had left off.

I love the idea of getting default professions according to class. I didn't know about the veteran bonus on one toon, and boosted a 60-something with no professions. Man, was I ticked when I found out I could've gotten instant 700 on whatever I picked.

I have a boosted 110 alt from the pre-order. However, even though that alt has access to his Class Hall, Broken Isles and Argus (after doing a few quests), his character screen doesn't show any Legion reputations: the newest are Draenor ones. Is this a feature or a bug? Any advice would be appreciated.

Something mildly interesting/surprising about the 110 boost, and the fact that it prevents you from entering dungeons and raids from previous expansions: it also applies to Timewalking events. If you're like me and used your boost on a healer on the last day of a Timewalking event, you will find that you are quite out of luck.

As of the patch going live, relics are no longer included, since you don't get the artifact weapon immediately, you do the quests. You get green weapons. Also, my druid could only choose balance or feral spec.

Can you still do the Class Halls to get your champions and get your classmount if you boost after the BFA pre-patch?

Be Advised, due to changes to professions in 8.0 veteran rewards
DO NOT
include professions boost.
There is
NO DIFFERENCE
between fresh, lvl 1, toon boost or "Veteran", lvl 61, boost.
With that being said, currently, to get most out of post-8.0 lvl 110 boost best course of action is to create lvl 100 trial character and use lvl 110 boost on him.
This way you will at least save 2000 Garrison Resources, 5000 gold and quite a lot of time for Garrison T3 update.
In addition, post-8.0 boost does not give you starting artifact weapon or relics. You have to do the questlines for all artifact weapons that are asociated with your class.
As of writing this comment, pre-expansion event is underway which has no pre-requirements,meaning that you can jump in it as soon as you are lvl100 "War of The Thorns" which rewards with ilvl210 gear that looks like your "Character Showoff" gear on New Character screen.

If you have character boosts from previous expansion sales but didn't use them, will they be able to boost you to 110 after you bought BFA now that legion is "baselined" for every active subscription?

Guide is in need of an update. Still refers to item level 870 post squish and points players toward Legion related activities.

I would like to use my boost, but have no idea how to unlock my garrison when it starts off with legion content. I've read that you should create a class trial, but the class trials don't have access to draenor. Am I missing something?

Do we know yet what will happen with existing unused boosts with Shadowlands? Will they change from 120 to 50, or do we need to use them before SL goes Live?

I purchased Shadowlands a month ago & got the character boost also. The whole time i've been playing, my husband & I have grouped, we have our guild together also, but we can't see each other's character unless in a raid. I hadn't played for a while on my account so I was level 90 something. He has played all along & leveled to 120. Does anyone know why we can't see each other's character? Thanks in advance!

I just upgraded a class trial character (in 9.0.2 pre-patch) and there is no trace of Azerite gear nor the Heart of Azeroth mentioned in the guide. Either the process changed and article is wrong or I have to contact the support (10 day wait currently, yay)... I am also neutral with Zandalar, no Flighmaster Whistle. Either something went utterly wrong with my boost or this article is much outdated.

"02. Boosted Level 110" and "06. Simple Class Guides" both currently lead to the infamous Page Not Found.
Also, I'd like to know where you wind up auto-teleported with the rejigged level 48 boost (the old 110 BfA boost).
