Caylee (Dak Krause) was a 28 year old friend in our guild (Boulderfist Heroes) that touched many players hearts. Sadly he died of leukemia on August 22, 2007. He was the type of player that you always looked forward to logging on. The type of player that would always help another. Dak, you are missed by so many. Blizzard truly has a heart of gold for placing his character in the game for all to see with his trusty pet Dusky at his side.
Caylee (Dak Krause), a fallen hero.

I hadn't heard of Dak Krause when I picked up Alicia's Poem, but when I saw Caylee on Aldor Rise I knew it had to be a memorial. With her mismatched gear she just
looks
like a player character; I thought she was one at first. I went looking for her in the Armory, and it really struck me when I found it. Not because of her gear or anything like that. It was the same kind of feeling you get when you walk into the room of someone who is gone, but whose possessions are still where they left them.(##RESPBREAK##)2056##DELIM##adashiel##DELIM##

many people doing Q even dont read what they need to do...
but this Q is not a simple WoW Q... plz read the poem giving u by npc
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, im dont sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
across Northrend's bright and shining snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
on Westfall's fields of golden rain.
I am in the morning hush,
of Stranglethorn's jungle, green and lush.
I am in the drums loud and grand,
the thundeorous hooves across Nagrand.
I am the stars warmly gleaming,
over Darnassus softly dreaming.
I am in the birds that sing,
i am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
rest in peace=|

Although I never noticed anything related to this story before and I hate the thottbot-alike rain of pointless comment-spam, I would like to ask my fellow Wowhead-members not to downvote every comment on this page for no apparent reason.
Blizzard has put a lot of effort in this all, to honor a (obviously great) player and person and hoping a lot of people would notice their fallen fellow-player. I believe it's only great that people who are touched by this story come to this page to post even the slightest piece of text, to let others know they care.
Why downvoting that to zero and below? It might not be "insightful/funny", but it is a hell and a lot better than the endless flow of comments on a <random mob> page, where people keep spamming the comment pages with "<random mob> can be solo'ed by <random class> using <random possibilities order> and using <random flask/pot/elixir>".

This is very touching. I would just like to add my respects and condolence's to Dak's family and friends. I know what it's like to lose a loved one as will many of us.
What blizzard have done is a fantastic show of good will and it makes me proud to be a Warcraft player. Just a shame they made the quest Alliance only although I can see why.
Although I never knew him and never played along side him I did my minute /kneel at Dak's character in Aldor today and I hope everyone can find the time to do the same at some point.
May you rest In peace Dak.

This story has truly touched my heart and i have never known, and now will never have the pleasure of knowing, Dak. I, a member of the horde on maelstrom, have made two new macros that i will use everyday. They are macros that pay my respects to a true hero of the World of Warcraft. Dak you will be missed but even though you have departed us in life you will always live forever in this world, the World of Warcraft. You have left your touch upon this game like no one else i know of. To Dak's family and friends i am truly sorry. I will spread the word amongst the ranks of the horde about your loss Dak... you will be remembered by both alliance and horde.

If you are Scryer and would like to do this quest, you can fly to Aldor rise and land quite safely next to Kaylee to complete the quest and pay your respects. (you will want to keep an eye out in case a patrol comes through that area)
I doubt it would be possible for someone who does not have a flying mount, but you can do so as soon as you get one.

I accidently saw the quest on minimap when I took the sub from IF to SW. I probably would have never seen it if I hadn't taken the sub. At first I didn't know what this quest was about and just thought it was a beautiful poem. But for some reason I just wanted to do it anyway so I hearthed back to Shatt and managed to talk to the NPC without being caught by guards. The quest just stopped there, making me wonder for more.
I checked here and then google the topic as well. I found Dak's myspace and listened to the music there. I cried.

I think sometimes we all forget to acutally respect those who have died. In the game we can just run back to our body and pop up to live on. I think blizzard is to be given a lot of respect for creating this character and those who disrespect it not only disrespect the person behind it but death itself. He wasn't horde he was alliance enough said. The character and the quest is to honor him not to give an immature player the satisfaction of killing the npc. Next time before you post think of someone you cared about that passed away and consider what it would mean to you if the immortalization of that person was disrespected in the same way. His spirit lives on he has ran for the last time back to his body and rezzed on aldor rise. RIP and all who see him scryers like me or otherwise take the chance for a memory.

If you go look "Caylee Dak" up on wowwiki, it will explain a bit better. I just found this quest in Stormwind Keep and thought it was a bit odd (considering I am Scryer) that I could get the quest. I did a bit of research on the quest and apparently the NPC is a tribute to a man named Dak that died of leukemia in August. One of his friends, Alicia, petitioned Blizzard to make a tribute to him, and this is what they did.
I don't know if you're allowed to post links on here or not but this is a website some people in his guild made as a tribute to him.
