The Elerethe Renferal encounter takes place in Nightmare-corrupted Mulgore, accessed once players have defeated Nythendra and fought to the Core of the Nightmare within

As the fight progresses, Elerethe swaps between the nightmarish forms of a spider and a roc. When she takes to the skies as a roc, she moves to a different platform, forcing players to weather her
as they make their way towards her.On Mythic difficulty, Elrethe uses an additional ability depending on what platform she is currently on. On the first platform she uses Tangled Webs, on the second she uses Violent Winds, and on the third Nightmare Spawn.

Lurking Horrors are cloaked in purple fogThe edges of the corridor are lined with small clouds of purple fog, hovering just above ground level. These mark the location of hidden

Lurking Horrors will occasionally cast

When possible, tanks should split the enemies so that one tank has the Tormenters, and the other tank has the Tricksters. Tanks should save their strongest cooldowns for multiple stacks of either debuff, and healers should quickly top up tanks with

Run out of Devastating Stomp's 15-yard radiusAoE stuns and other forms of CC are very useful against the Taintheart packs. It is best to prioritize the Befoulers, then the Tormenters, then the Tricksters.

Venomous Pools form on Spiderlings' corpsesTo access Elerethe Renferal, players should take the Mulgore portal at the end of the southeast path in the Core of Nightmares. Follow the path downhill past the neutral wildlife into the spider-infested canyon below.
The web-covered platforms in the canyon are inhabited by packs of one

This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the

encounter on Normal difficulty. Changes to the fight for Looking for Raid, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties are listed below in their respective sections, including suggestions for dealing with the new mechanics introduced in these difficulties.
The Elerethe Renferal encounter is a complicated two-phase fight with heavy movement requirements and an emphasis on raid awareness.
Elerethe will take on two forms during the fight: Spider form and Roc form. Each form has a unique set of abilities that players must master.
Elerethe begins in Spider form
She will switch between forms each time her Energy bar fills up
Upon transforming into a Roc, she will fly to a new platform
The raid will take heavy damage until they reach Elerethe's destination
Once on the new platform, she will complete a full Roc phase and a full Spider phase
When she next transforms into a Roc she will fly to the third platform
This cycle repeats until players have defeated Elerethe
Violent Burst releases Skittering SpiderlingsThroughout the fight, players must avoid stepping on the

s that line the edges of the platforms.
If a player stands too close to a Pulsing Egg Sac, they will disturb it

The Venomous Spiderlings summoned in the Elerethe Renferal encounter have the same abilities as the trash mobs of the same name

Phase 1: Spider Form
Each Spider form phase lasts 90 seconds, with an additional 8-second "intermission" as Elerethe becomes briefly unable to attack while transforming into Roc form.
Linked targets take extra damage if too far apartShortly after the fight begins, Elerethe casts

, linking two pairs of players together.
Elerethe always links the two tanks together
She will also choose two random non-tank targets for the second

Eight seconds later, Elerethe will drop back down with a powerful

Players who are still within the green targeting circle when Elerethe lands will take very heavy, if not fatal, damage, and be knocked back

Tanks should lag behind a little and pick up the Venomous Spiderlings as they land

s their corpses spawn will be out of the way.

Phase 2: Roc Form
The Roc form phase lasts 2 minutes, with an 8 second lag at the start and end while Elerethe changes forms. Each Roc phase also includes an "interlude" where players must chase Elerethe to a new platform. Players should save their strongest defensive or healing cooldowns for this "interlude" portion of the fight, as it is the most dangerous.
When Twisting Shadows expires, a tornado formsShortly after transforming into Roc form, still on the original platform, Elerethe will target two players with

Like the initial

debuff, the

debuff is a 10-second "warning" debuff
During these 10 seconds, the targeted players can destroy

These tornadoes wander in the immediate area they were dropped in

For the remainder of the Roc form phase,

The "ground" tank should pick these up when they reach the other end of the bridge, and drag them away from the raid
Web bridges are blocked by patrolling Twisting Shadows tornadoes
There will always be a clear path, but players may have to drop down to a lower web bridge level to avoid them
Be cautious - survival is more important than a speedy crossing!
Movement speed boosts can be dangerous, especially when trying to jump down to another bridge level - take care
Pulsing Egg Sacs are also found along these web bridge paths - avoid triggering

By the time the raid reaches Elerethe's new platform, most players' health will be quite low. The healing team should use a powerful cooldown to quickly recover from the combination of

, casting it three more times during the phase. Targeted players should drop the

Players who took the

s should use the Extra Action Button to land on and kill the Venomous Spiderlings
Gradually move Elerethe toward the bridge to the next platform, so the raid doesn't have to stand in tornadoes

On Looking for Raid difficulty, Elerethe does not use the
痛苦之网
ability.
Additionally, Elerethe's
邪掠之爪
ability only increases its damage by 10% if the tank is struck by two consecutive blows, meaning that taunt swapping for this mechanic is not necessary. The tank will still take heavy damage and healers should still take extra care to heal the
邪掠之爪
tank.
Heroic Difficulty
Twisting Shadows that spawn near Venomous Pools deal extra raid damage (green swirls)On Heroic difficulty,
扭曲暗影
gain a new mechanic, causing additional raid damage if they form near
剧毒之池
s.
This new mechanic only applies to the
扭曲暗影
tornadoes
that form after a player's
Twisting Shadows
debuff falls off
The tornado will consume a
剧毒之池
it comes into contact with
It will then release several bursts of
剧毒之池
, targeting two random players with each burst
This damage will splash to other players within 5 yards of the target
Despite the name,
剧毒之池
does not leave any
剧毒之池
patches on the ground; it is a one-off effect
This mechanic is most likely to occur for the first set of
扭曲暗影
tornadoes that form on the first platform, shortly after Elerethe has transitioned into Roc form but before she has flown to another location, since this platform is full of
剧毒之池
s from the
死灵毒液
and many Venomous Spiderling spawns.
Due to this mechanic, it is dangerous to use the
Twisting Shadows
debuff to clear
剧毒之池
s, and this should only be done in emergency situations.
Make sure that all players marked with
Necrotic Venom
drop their
剧毒之池
s as closely packed together as possible
The players targeted with
Necrotic Venom
should use strong personal CDs when possible, since overlapping the pools does cause damage
Players targeted with
Necrotic Venom
must avoid dropping
剧毒之池
s in critical areas, like near the web bridge to the next platform
Players with the
Twisting Shadows
debuff should only clear
剧毒之池
s if they are overly disruptive to the strategy!
Otherwise, players should drop the
扭曲暗影
tornadoes in a clear area of the room away from other
剧毒之池
s
Mythic Difficulty
Keep Spiderlings away from EleretheOn Mythic difficulty, if Elerethe is ever within 10 yards of the Venomous Spiderling adds, she will gain the
蜂拥
buff, increasing her damage and attack speed by 25% per stack. Tanks must ensure that Venomous Spiderlings are always kept more than 10 yards away from the boss, and players must avoid creating additional adds when possible, to make this task easier.
Mythic difficulty also adds several new mechanics to the fight, some of which are dependent upon which of the three platforms Elerethe is currently visiting, while others add additional aspects to Spider or Roc form.
When Elerethe is in Spider form,
痛苦之网
gains the
痛苦鞭笞
mechanic.
If the
痛苦之网
line passes through another player, that player will take
痛苦鞭笞
damage
Players damaged by
痛苦鞭笞
are also knocked back
This primarily interferes with running away from
邪恶伏击
, as it can knock players back into the
邪恶伏击
area of effect
The players linked by
痛苦之网
should stand very close to one another to make the
痛苦之网
as short as possible, and move out of the raid when possible
When
邪恶伏击
occurs, the
痛苦之网
targets must run alongside, but not stacked with, the rest of the raid
If Vile Ambush lands in the middle of the platform, players have no safe space from Tangled WebsOn the first platform, whenever Elerethe uses
邪恶伏击
, the platform in a very large area beneath her becomes covered in
混乱之网
. Players who linger in the
混乱之网
for more than 2 seconds will spawn additional Venomous Spiderlings.
Tank Elerethe on the far left or right of the platform, so that the opposite side will remain clear of
混乱之网
Use a movement speed increasing effect like
狂奔怒吼
or
狂风图腾
to ensure the raid escapes the
邪恶伏击
area before the
混乱之网
spawn
混乱之网
persist for up to 1.3 minutes, but will begin to slowly recede as Elerethe prepares to cast her next

If any excess Venomous Spiderlings spawn, tanks should be sure to taunt them and position them away from Elerethe to avoid

attack is more deadly. The second strike will deal 200% damage if it hits the same tank as the first strike. Tanks

Healers should use ground-based AoE spells and raid CDs to keep the

soakers alive
The

mechanic is a bit complicated. Each second,
暴虐之风
will apply a total of 10 stacks of
狂风燃烧
to its targets. If there is only one player in the
暴虐之风
, that player will receive all 10, increasing the next tick of
暴虐之风
by 120%. If multiple players stack in the
暴虐之风
, each player will receive 1 stack, and any remaining stacks will be applied to the primary target (the current tank).
狂风燃烧
lasts for 45 seconds once it stops stacking up, and Elerethe will cast
暴虐之风
every 40 seconds. This means the raid must alternate between two different groups of players to soak the
狂风燃烧
stacks.
Assign half the raid to each group
Be sure to split healers up so that the healers not standing in the
暴虐之风
can use CDs effectively
The tank targeted by
暴虐之风
should use a CD to mitigate the damage
The rest of the raid must be sure to avoid standing in front of Elerethe during
暴虐之风
Finally, while Elerethe is on the third platform, she gains the
噩梦产物
ability, summoning
脉动的卵囊
s that will release Venomous Spiderlings when disturbed. These Surging Egg Sacs will automatically burst each time Elerethe uses
邪恶伏击
, but players may wish to trigger them early so the raid is not overwhelmed with a large number of Venomous Spiderlings at once.

One point I was confused about - in the Abilities and Strategy section, you note that those with the Twisting Shadows debuff are immune to Venomous Pools damage, but under Damage-Dealer responsibilities, you note that a defensive cooldown is advised to "reduce Venomous Pools damage" when running through them with Twisting Shadows. Was wondering whether or not the debuff actually made you immune to that damage.

Not sure if an oversight or a last minute change by Blizzard but on heroic the tornado spawned by Twisting Shadows will also consume the Venomous Pool and launch it onto two targets.

Ok so everytime we pulled this girl and she went to the second platform she gets a buff called "Web Walker" which gives her 500% extra damage and 70% attack speed. This guide doesn't say anything about it. Anyone knows what's up with that?

One thing you should note that you can move to the second platform beside the tornados. There is a small part of the web leaning to the first platform where you can go. This strategy is particulary good on normal, because you dont need to move as aggresively.

No mention of Bombard during the start of Roc phase when she draws in and blows raid back. We took 2 wipes from near instant aoe dmg from these green circles. Because your pushed back against a wall or cliff it's almost impossible to avoid this 1 shot damage. I don't know if this is a bug or a new change but we gave up since there is no way to run from them..

Not sure if this was an oversight on Blizz' part or what, but there is nothing in either the tooltips or the dungeon journal saying anything about the damage from Gathering Clouds changing depending on your distance from the boss.

We're progressing through mythic, running a two tank strat, and have had issues with vile ambush one shoting web of pain targets. They are stacked (well within the 20 yards), running to the side of the platform to avoid the knock back to others, but the targets are getting destroyed with ~2mil damage each when ambush hits. They are not in the ambush green area or surrounding web when the Damage hits, yet are they simply not running far enough away? Seeing some strats suggest 3 tanks. Will this be that effective at reducing the webbed targets? We've been trying personal CDs, but it's just a massive amount of damage at once, so casted heals can't prevent it. Any suggestions?
