Thanks. I got my cat team to 25 in a day, but the condor part was nearly impossible without doing the steps and stuff.

Excellent guide!
Tho I've been grinding, grinding and grinding prior to reading this guide. Which was helpful for me in my efforts.
I have a
fawn
that has been my healbot during my grind. It was lvl 19 prior to using this guide. Now she's approaching 25 much quicker. *wink*
I would only like to suggest a couple of things I noticed that may be of help for folks.
1. When you capture a pet, it drops down to the level of the pet out at the time. Therefore, if you have a Lvl 22 & 23 against a 25, then make sure the 23 is out when you attempt to snag the fellow.
2. The last part in the Kun-Lai Summit, silly me read it wrong and instead of
Eternal Strider
battles, I was battling
Golden Civets
. Since they moved stuff around in that area(map).
3. The WowHead map of
Kun-Lai Summit
needs updating cause all the Striders have been moved to near Mistfall Village.
These are only tweak suggestions. *grin* This has been very helpful guide. The research/experience of gathering the right pet to counter the higher level pets made me able to battle with pets (rares/uncommon) the others 5+ levels.
PS. The Dragonbone "Condors" are actually
Dragondone Hatchlings
. I spend well over an hour attempting to get a "rare" version and gave up with two Uncommon ones (killed quite a few uncommon ones just never lucked up on a rare).

With the stealth nerf/buff on the dragonling step. That step is impossible. You may want to update your guide. The outlands step is wrong to, as here is no flying battle pets in outlands between 17-20.
Just a side note. If you see a "out of date" label on this post, it means wowhead still has the "out of date bug". This is incorrect as this post was on 02/07/2014. It is clearly up to date.

Very helpful, struggled with the Condors a lot tho, also "1.Go to Jade Forest/Other parts of Northerend and get a other pet." is Jade Forest in Northerend?

Thanks for the tips. The Eternal Striders near Mistfall Village were great - leveled up my Dragonbone Hatchling and Imperial Eagle easily. Got 3 lvl 23 rares in the process- Yellow-Bellied Bullfrog, Eternal Strider and a Dancing Water Skimmer. Quickly leveled the Dancing Water Skimmer to 25.

I must have been really lucky because I had absolutely 0 problems with catching the condors. I had a 15 uncommon eye, 16 rare eye and a 17 rare eye. Must have just gotten lucky with the eyes and gotten an easy ride :)

This worked for me. Took a bit longer with the latest modifications but still doable.
Here's a couple of things that I found problematic / helpful:
1. Acrane Eyes - spawn at different times.. I got mine during the day - so just be patient with this.
2. Having 2 of the recommended kind and 1 wild pet helps to fight off the extra adds that join in.
example 1:
I kept getting critters with the dragonbone hatchlings, so I picked up a
Flayer Youngling
. This meanie made short work of the critters, sometimes 1-shotting them with Triple-Snap.
example 2:
Farming Eternal Striders
A good number of times they will have a flyer join them. Take one of the Arcane Eyes (hopefully you managed to get 1 rare) with you to fight those off easily.
I did in all cases manage to get at least 1 rare, and it made a big difference, so I recommend you keep on trying till you get it.

For your first mechanicals, grab yourself a alliance human toon and go to westfall. You can capture Tiny Harvesters (level 2-3) there in the farm fields. Also if you have the cash (50G) you can buy Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot but its really not needed. If you are Horde, you can capture a Robo-chick in the goblin section of Org. All of these can be done by a lowbie toon if needed.
Then go to Stormwind and kill copious squirrels outside of the mage tower to get your pets level up fast to at least level five or six. Can do the same in Org with Dung Beetles.
Are you a Night Elf? Then stock up on Crested Owls in Darnassus and Forest Moths in Tedressil. You will thank me later.
Go to Northern Stranglethorn and kill spiders, here also are Crimson Moths (flying) and parrots which you will want for power leveling in the Vale (Pandaria). Stock up on three rare or uncommon moths and parrots. You want three to four rare flying pets for your power leveling. Go to Cape of Stranglethorn to level up to 10-11.
Go to Hinterlands to kill maggots and spiders up to level 12.
Go to Eastern Plaguelands to get your mechanicals up to level 13 by killing more spiders, maggots and scorpids.
One of my most favorite power leveling areas is Thousand Needles! I power level all my pets through here with a 25 level mechanical but more on that later. For now, take your pets to the ledge (you need flying) that runs along the edge of the water (SW of the speedbarge). You can fly up to it from Gadgetzan. The ledge is to the left of the beach entrance to Tanaris. Just fly along the ledge and battle every pet you find, there are lots. Roaches, scorpids, iguanas.
Tanaris has gulls (flying, yes!) and snakes, spiders, all out in open areas for easy capturing.
Nagrand in Outlands gives you three beast types to battle, Adders, Clefthoofs and Leatherhides to get your pets up to level 20.
Howling Fjord is your next stop in Northrend, more beasts here--maggots, fjord pups and spiders plus chickens, turkeys (flying). Get your pets up to 22-23 here. Then you are off to Pandaria!
In Pandaria, there are two hot spots that you can level up your flying pets at. One is near the Mogu-shan Palace where the pool of water has been drained and the other is near the Mistvale village, again in a riverbed.
-------------------------
Once you have your flying pets leveled to 25, then you can then power level any other pet easily from 1-25 in under two hours!
Here is how:
Level one to six > Go to Org or Stormwind (see above) one or two leveling pets and any 25. Pet hits #1 spell and switches to 25 pet to finish.
Level six to twelve > Go to Thousand Needles (see above) level pet and two 25 mechanical pets, again Pet hits #1 spell and then switched to first mechanical pet who finishes the round in one shot. #2 mechanical rarely needed. You could put in your second leveling pet instead of the second mechanical but you may need a bandage or two. My method pretty much keeps you battling without bandages and using the revive pet button every ten mins to refresh your pets.
Level twelve to twenty-five > Go to the Vale-Pandaria (see above) Level pet and two 25 flying pets. Pet hits #1 spell and switches to flying pet #1, pet #2 as needed. If you have three or four rare 25 flying pets, you will be able to switch them out as their health gets low while the revive pet is on CD.
The reason to only allow your leveling pet to hit only one spell, is to not drain their health too low so you can easily do continuous battles without bandages and revive your pets health every ten minutes with Revive Pet button.

It's not necessary (redundant, in fact) to capture three Arcane Eyes before going for the Dragonbone Hatchlings. The Arcane Eye is strong against the Dragonbone Hatchlings you're about to capture, but not against their sidekicks (Tundra Penguin, Arctic Hare, Strand Crab).
You should get one Arcane Eye (uncommon or rare) and level it to maybe 19. Then get two other strong companions to join your Arcane Eye (anything will do as long as they are as high level and good quality as possible).
Now go to Northrend. As soon as you have your first Dragonbone Hatchling, you should put it in the team with the Arcane Eye, to counter the penguins and crabs.
With your team of Arcane Eye/Dragonbone/anything then capture a Strand Crab. The Strand Crab nicely counters the Arctic Hares (just turtle up, heal and then claw the hare until it's dead).
So, in short: get one Arcane Eye, then get a Dragonbone Hatchling, and lastly a Strand Crab. With that team you can farm more Dragonbone Hatchlings easily, maybe to find a rare or just to level up.

On leveling up your
Dragonbone Hatchlings:
Make sure to fight the level 25 Eternal Strider
as they will drop 2 levels upon capture. I fought many battles and they always had aquatic friends so the three
Dragonbone Hatchling
s you brought will do the job well. I went back and fought a few more to get to level 25 and did run into a flyer once or twice so perhaps it would be prudent to put an
Arcane Eye
that you used in
Dragonblight
in your third slot just in case.
