Welcome to Wowhead's guide to all known changes to the Death Knight class in Shadowlands Chains of Domination 9.1. This will cover any changes made to Death Knight abilities, conduits, PvP talents, anima powers, and existing legendary powers. As more information becomes available, we will be adding to this guide, so check back often!

New Covenant Class Legendaries in 9.1

General Death Knight Changes in 9.1
Places an Anti-Magic Zone that reduces spell damage taken by party or raid members by 20%. The Anti-Magic Zone lasts for 8 sec or until it absorbs damage.
Duration decreased from 10 sec to 8 sec.
Blood Death Knight Changes in 9.1
Effect #1 Apply Aura: Modifies Damage/Healing Done: 0 -> 6%
Affected Spells: Class Abilities
This specialization aura increases the damage of all class spells by 6%.

Death Knight PvP Talent Changes in 9.1
General

Rune of Spellwarding is applied to you with 100% increased effect.

Death's Advance, Death and Decay, and Death Grip have 1 additional charge.

Blood
has been redesigned – Passive: Heart Strike now deals 60% increased damage, but also costs 3% of your maximum health to cast.
is now only available to Blood specialization (was Blood and Unholy specializations) and now affects enemies within 8 yards (was 10 yards).
now reduces the duration of Dancing Rune Weapon by 25% (was 50%).
Frost
NEW
Chains of Ice reduces the target's Haste by 12%. Frost Strike refreshes the duration of Chains of Ice.
no longer reduces the radius of Remorseless Winter.
radius when applied by Remorseless Winter increased to 8 yards (was 5 yards).
can now only be applied through Howling Blast (was also applied by Frost Strike), reduces cooldown recovery rate of movement abilities by 50% (was 25%) lasts 12 seconds (was 15 seconds) and no longer stacks (was stackable up to 2 times).
Enemies within 8 yards of you become shrouded in winter, reducing the range of their spells and abilities by 30%.
Name changed from Heartstop Aura to Shroud of Winter; tooltip reworded.
Unholy
NEW
Bursting a Festering Wound converts it into a Necrotic Wound, absorbing 5% of all healing received for 12 sec and healing you for the amount absorbed when the effect ends. Max 6 stacks. Adding a stack does not refresh the duration.
NEW
Sudden Doom also causes your next Death Coil to burst up to 2 Festering Wounds and reduce the target's movement speed by 45% per burst. Lasts 3 sec.
REMOVED
is now only available to Unholy specialization (was all specializations).
now heals you for 5% of the healing received by targets afflicted by your Virulent Plague (was 10% of the healing received by targets afflicted by your Festering Wound).
cooldown increased to 2 minutes (was 1.5 minutes).

Did they rollback the 10% buff to dmg taken for Blood DKs? It still shows for the other tanks but I dont see it listed for B DK on this post.

I'm sad to see Necrotic Strike go (again), but these two new talents Necrotic Wounds and Doomburst are actually pretty interesting. There hasn't been anything good for Deathcoil in a long time, not since the tier set that gave Deathcoil a DoT, so I'm all about throwin skulls. I just hope Necrotic Wounds can scale off anything, else killing healers just got harder potentially.
Really not sure what's up with removing Transfusion, that was a pretty mandatory talent to survive due to how poor Deathstrike's healing is.

I too am curious. I see a 10% dmg reduction buff to all other tank classes but not blood dk. I cant imagine we were taking too little damage before, that would be unreal.

Antimagic Zone was changed again as well, so this page needs a bit of adjustment.
