Introduction to Elysian Hold, the Kyrian Covenant Sanctum
Elysian Hold is the Sanctum of the Kyrian Covenant of Bastion, and those adventurers choosing to ally themselves with the Kyrian Covenant will find their home here. This hub of activity is where Kyrian members will find their Sanctum features such as the Anima Conductor, the Transport Network, the Scouting Map, and their very own Covenant feature, the Path of Ascension.
In addition, this is where Kyrian Covenant members can select and change their Soulbinds, alliances with powerful denizens of the Kyrian who will aid them in their adventures across the Shadowlands.
The Kyrian Covenant Sanctum has many convenient features and so many things you'll need to revisit regularly that most players allying themselves with this Covenant will likely make their permanent home here.
Kyrian Covenant Overview
Getting Into Elysian Hold
Getting into Elysian Hold is only an issue the first time you go there. After that, you can use either the flight point or the Kyrian Gateway transportation system to get in and out of Elysian Hold.
Once you have completed the Covenant Choice quest line and decided on the Kyrian, you will start on the quest
, which instructs you to travel to see Polemarch Adrestes.
Important:
If you leveled up on the zone storyline campaign, including the quest
in chapter "By The Archon's Will", you will have visited Elysian Hold already and probably picked up the flight point. Don't just go directly to Elysian Hold. You need to go through the following process for the appropriate quest line to join the Kyrian Covenant.
Take the Ring of Transference portal in Oribos to the second level (located in two places, north of the center area at /way 51.8, 42.1, or south of the center area at /way 52.0, 58.6. Take the flight point to Hero's Rest. Once there, the quickest way to Polemarch Adrestes is to take the Anima Gateway on Hero's Rest located at /way 53.3, 45.0, directly northeast of the flight point, past a pair of guards onto a lower level. The Anima Gateway appears as a hexagonal pad on the floor.
When you land at /way 53.0, 37.8, you will be able to see your destination, and an impressive view of the floating Elysian Hold, from the landing pad. Follow the road ahead, turning immediately right toward the archway, where Polemarch Adrestes awaits your arrival.
Polemarch Adrestes greets you, and you receive your next quest,
. Follow Adrestes and kneel before the Archon in the swirling circle of light, swearing your allegiance to the Kyrian Covenant.
After this, pick up the next quest,
, and Polemarch Adrestes will pick you up and fly you directly into Elysian Hold.
Maps of Elysian Hold
Elysian Hold has two levels: a large outdoor upper level containing most of the quest givers, NPCS, and interactions, and small, inside lower level. The second level is accessible through a passage located right below the Flight Master (map location 6, Upper Level).
Main Level
Nearly all activity happens on the main level.

Elysian Hold Starting Quest Line
Following
,
begins the introduction process to the Sanctum, and starts the quests you need to complete to begin the Covenant Sanctum improvement process.
Quest Skip Opportunity For Alts:
However, if this isn't your first time opening the Sanctum, you'll also get an option at this point to skip ahead to
, skipping the next 6 quests in this opening line. This will also cut out one quest that gives 1,500 reputation with
, so it's probably worth going through this opening sequence anyway. It's up to you!
At any point between
and
, you can return to Polemarch and ask to skip ahead to
.
For new Sanctum players, you must then complete the following quests.
: Examine your Renown with the Kyrian Covenant
: Speak with
: Complete 3 World Quests in Bastion - Rewards
and 1500 reputation with
: Speak to
: Deposit 375 Reservoir Anima into your sanctum's Reservoir. By now, you will have the ability (if not yet the resources) to be able to apply Sanctum upgrades.
is where both new and experienced Kyrian progress together - speak to
to form your first Soulbind.
You will then be directed into the Maw, where you will be able to start accumulating both
and Souls to fund upgrades to your Sanctum.
Elysian Hold Kyrian Sanctum Special Areas
The four special Sanctum Areas are parts of your Sanctum that you can develop, improve, and expand over time. Three of these areas (Scouting Map, Anima Collector, and Transport Network) are similar in all four Covenants, with different flavors reflecting that Covenant's character. Each Sanctum also has a unique area; in Elysian Hold, this is the Path of Ascension.
Upgrading Your Sanctum Areas
To start researching upgrades for these four areas, consult
<Sanctum Upgrades> to donate Anima and other resources (map location 8, Upper Level). Once you have collected the appropriate number of resources to upgrade an area, research takes 1 hour to complete.
Elysian Hold Adventures
Adventures are carried out on the Scouting Table. As you open your Sanctum, the Scouting Map (map location 10, Upper Level) is the first special area of your Sanctum that you will encounter. Learning the basics of operating your Scouting Map is among the opening quests. The Scouting Map is located on the first level of Elysian Hold (map location 10, Upper Level). You will receive your first quest for this from
<Communicator>. (map location 9, Upper Level).
Once you’ve joined your chosen Covenant, you’ll be able to begin undertaking Adventures from the dedicated table within your Sanctum. Through the interface, you’ll be able to view available Adventures, the associated rewards, the cost to undertake them, the state of your units, and how challenging the enemies are within that Adventure. You’ll want to choose a solid mix from your Adventurers, Soulbinds, and troops to create a party of up to 5 units to deal with the various threats. Rewards include anima, gold, pets, mounts, and more.
With the introduction of Soulbinds in Shadowlands, Blizzard wanted to find a compelling way to bring their individual personality traits into as many aspects of the game as possible, including Adventures. Similar to previous high-profile personalities in past expansions’ Missions, Soulbinds will be able to lead the charge while expressing their own motivations and goals through the Adventures system.
Upgrading Adventures
You can upgrade your Adventures through Haephus <Sanctum Upgrades>. There are three ranks of advancement:
: Grants access to Adventures and their rewards.
: Increases the rate at which adventurers naturally heal by 25%.
: Decreases the amount of time an adventure takes to complete by 25%.
For more information on using the Scouting Table and the many missions and adventures ahead of you, please visit the following guide:
Covenant Adventures: Missions Upgraded for Shadowlands
Elysian Hold Anima Conductor
The Anima Conductor allows you to open up areas within Bastion to unlock special treasures, quests, and enemies. As you build your Anima Conductor, you will get a rotating selection of new goals. Eventually, all areas will be unlocked permanently.
The Anima Conductor in Elysian Hold located at the end of the southeast platform (map location 6, Upper Level).
Upgrading the Anima Conductor
You can upgrade your Anima Conductor through Haephus <Sanctum Upgrades>. There are three ranks of advancement:
: Unlocks access to the Sanctum's first two anima diversion locations.
: Unlocks access to more locations for anima diversion in Bastion.
: Unlocks access to further locations for anima diversion in Bastion.
The Anima Conductors of Bastion connect to the following areas, and open special tasks:
Purity’s Pinnacle
– Find a unique Covenant treasure.
Temple of Courage
– Fight an enemy champion.
Temple of Humility
– Access a Covenant World Quest.
Eternal Forge
– Access a set of Covenant daily quests.
Eonian Archives
– Get access to powerful Kyrian enhancements.
Citadel of Loyalty
– Fight an elite enemy champion.

Bastion Transport Network: The Eternal Gateway
Learning and activating the Transport Network will allow you to learn the Kyrian Gateways, allowing you to travel instantly to key areas around Bastion through the Eternal Gateway.
Upgrading the Transport Network
You can upgrade your Transport Network through Haephus <Sanctum Upgrades>. There are three ranks of advancement:
Rank 1:
- Allows travel to Elysian Hold, Hero's Rest, Aspirant's Rest, and the Temple of Courage. After arriving at a location cast
, greatly increasing movement speed, and propelling you forward.
Rank 2:
- Allows travel to Sagehaven, the Temple of Purity, and the Seat of Eternal Hymns. Unburden duration increased by 100%. Your
ability can now create an
, granting you access to the network in the field.
Rank 3:
- Allows travel to the Temple of Humility and Exaltation Rise. Unburden additionally reduces the radius at which enemies will detect you while active. Your steward's Elysian Beacon can now be used by party members.
Once you have researched
, the Eternal Gateway appears in Elysian Hold. The Eternal Gateway in Bastion is located on the east side of the southwest platform (map location 3, Upper Level). When using the Eternal Gateway, you will gain the buff
, dissolving your body into pure anima and increasing your movement speed by 300% for 10 seconds.
Once you have a Gateway available, it will show up on a map. The green hexagonal Gateway represents where you are now, and the grey hexagons represent possible destinations. Not all of these will be open to you until you develop the Network fully.

Special Kyrian Sanctum Building: The Path of Ascension
The Kyrian-specific Sanctum feature is called the Path of Ascension. Use a Soul Mirror to inhabit the consciousness of one of the three Soulbind entities of the Kyrian covenant: Forgelite Prime Mikanikos, Kleia, or Pelagos. This will put you through a series of combat trials as that soulbind entity, each with its own set of unique abilities and tools to equalize the playing field.
To combat a boss, you must first capture their memory in a soul mirror. Once a boss’s memory has been captured, you can challenge them in the arena as many times as you wish.
Victorious Soulbinds will be rewarded with blueprints to craft improved gear, signature ability upgrades, and cosmetics. For those who desire ultimate glory, seek out and complete challenges to unlock special rewards, including mounts.
Upgrading the Path of Ascension:
The Path of Ascension has five enhancements:

Sanctum Building Achievements and Increased Anima Rewards
You can earn three achievements for building your Sanctum to specific levels:
- Unlock rank 1 of all Covenant upgrades
- Unlock rank 2 of all Covenant upgrades
- Unlock rank 3 of all Covenant upgrades
This means increasing the levels on your Anima Conductor, Transport Network, Adventure Table, and Sanctum-specific area (Path of Ascension, Abomination Factory, Queen's Conservatory, Ember Court). The Sanctum-specific area has five ranks, but you only need to get it to level 3 for the purposes of the final achievement.
Earning these achievements unlocks increased Anima rewards from Uncommon and Rare Anima activities from World Quests, Adventure Table Missions, Mythic+, raids, and PvP. Each rank awards 1 more Anima reward per level.

Kyrian Covenant Soulbinds
Soulbinding is a new system of progression in the Shadowlands expansion. Players who join a Covenant will be able to bind themselves to one of its members, sharing some of their power through an artifact-like talent tree. Each of the different Covenants has three options to choose from, with each Soulbind offering different bonuses, for a total of twelve different trees of progression across the four covenants. Conduits add further customization to those Soulbind trees, allowing players to fill empty sockets in the trees with bonuses of their choosing.
To change your Soulbinds to another Soulbind character or to change specific abilities in your existing Soulbind, you need to visit the Forge of Bonds in the center of the lower level of Elysian Hold (map location 2, Lower Level).
In the Kyrian Covenant, you will have the opportunity to bind your soul to one of three powerful allies: Pelagos, Kleia, or Forgelite Prime Mikanikos. You will be introduced to your first Soulbind with Pelagos during the opening quest line for Elysian Hold.

Kyrian Covenant Callings
Once you have joined your Covenant, reached level 60, and started your Sanctum, you will begin to receive Covenant Callings. These are specific world-level quests that call upon you to perform great deeds for your Covenant, with high rewards for success. You will receive three Covenant Callings at a time, and like World Quests, these have specific durations and rewards. These can only be picked up inside your Sanctum, not out in the world.
You can see all of your Callings by clicking on the Covenant Sanctum report on your minimap. One of three icons will appear.
Any Covenant Callings that are available but that haven't been picked up will show up with a blue circle and around the quest giver's icon.
Any Covenant Callings you picked up and are in your quest log will show the quest giver's icon with no highlight.
If you have completed Covenant Callings that have not yet refreshed, this will show up as a plain circle with no quest giver icon.
This is a handy way to check to see if you have new Callings available without having to go to your Sanctum to check. As shown below, you can check whether quests are still waiting to refresh, or check which quest the giver is offering in advance. This may save unnecessary trips back to your Sanctum.

Ok, so I thought I clicked the FP. But I don't see the FP on the map. Not sure how to get back in there... I have finished the whole bastion storyline... Anyone else have these issues?
