Torghast, Tower of the Damned
is a replayable endgame instanced feature introduced in
Shadowlands
. Enhancement Shaman players looking to improve their characters will be spending a great deal of time here; Torghast is one of the best sources for

Legendary Armor
.
Besides grinding for their Legendary Armor pieces, players can also enter the Twisting Corridors inside Torghast. A special prestige mode that offers a greater challenge and awards players with cosmetic rewards, including a mount that works in the Maw!

Enhancement Shaman Strengths and Weaknesses in Torghast
Ironically compared to our biggest issues in instanced PvE content, our greatest strength is defense in Torghast. The sheer amount of tools we have available to lock down targets, and the power of our off-healing gives us a really good starting point in any run regardless of what powers are offered.
This means that generally, as long as you don't go too wild pulling enormous packs, you can deal with basically anything thrown at you if you juggle your tools effectively and are geared appropriately. Many of the powers available enhance this even further, giving massive damage reduction and self healing that creatse a situation where even if your damage is low, it's hard to be put in a situation where an enemy feels insurmountable.
One thing Enhancement does suffer from though is a lack of offensive powers to really get you going early on in a run. Most are slow burn gains that help but don't really overload you with damage like many other specs. While there are some synergies here and there, the majority revolves around boosting your survival, allowing you to leverage the AoE the spec already has more aggressively without fear of flopping over.
Navigating Torghast as an Enhancement Shaman
Solo Enhancement Shaman Play in Torghast
Enhancement in Torghast gets out of the gate quite strong due to the multitude of tools available to you. Very high impact, long cooldown options such as
土元素
and
嗜血
can help you get through even the roughest packs early whether you get good powers or not, and cover the gap until you find some in the first few floors. Aside from this, the burst self healing in Torghast really flexes its muscles with
漩涡武器
empowered
治疗之涌
s, paired with
治疗之泉图腾
for sustain that has some excellent powers to augment it. Offensively many of our powers are fairly dull with virtually no truly Enhancement specific choices, but given we already have a lot of tools to deal with different scenarios from the get go it's not a deal breaker.
Just do be aware that despite a lot of our powers giving an overwhelming amount of sustain and healing, you are still susceptible to simply being killed by high damage elites. In packs that have multiple dangerous foes, don't forget to make use of our CC tools in
妖术
, and if you find that you're using this more often than not have a higher priority on grabbing
吸血睡莲
as a power if it shows up.
Lastly, it's important to remember all of the crowd control and survival tools you have (not counting the Anima powers that also enhance some of these).

as AoE disruption tools alongside

gives you a lot of control over high damage enemies, letting you lock down even some of the scariest caster elites that other classes struggle with.
Group Enhancement Shaman Play in Torghast
Funnily enough to many in group play Enhancement finally reaches its role as a true hybrid support class. While you won't see as much success as playing solo, you can absolutely bring a huge amount to the table just by virtue of the vast low-to-mid impact tools the spec has available to it. It's somewhat similar to the case in Mythic+, except that many of the powers augment the things that are just on the cusp of being very important to the level that you have a drastic impact.
You'll be dropping a whole lot of totems in these runs and moreover will be doing a good bit of off-healing to keep your party healthy with the tools available. Extremely powerful powers such as

turn you into a god tier support spec that pairs really well with all of the sustain and control you have available.
Best Torghast Enhancement Shaman Talents
The build to go with as an Enhancement has some edge cases that are explained in the notes below. Some choices also have strong synergy with powers that make them worthy of consideration, and often should be switched to at the Broker vendor mid-run if you gained access to them.
Notes:

provides a lot of consistent Maelstrom stacks for self-healing, and ups your damage against single targets that usually eat up the most time. However, with

if acquired then

becomes extra appealing as a toolt o get AoE damage reduction, and since it's a common power you'll often see this.

both work on this row, the former being more consistent sustain while the latter being more control. The payoff of Earth Shield is generally high enough to warrant the loss of

's Maelstrom generation in some of the floors, but depends on how melee vs. caster heavy the floor is.

gives a bigger instant punch for larger more dangerous packs, but some powers can reduce how powerful this is the later into a run you go. This means that
can often be a solid alternative depending on your pace on each floor.

Thankfully all of these are passive increase options, and don't require you to worry about additional keybinds outside of what talent you may pick on top of it.
With our trees current state most of the extra benefit is lost because we focus on rounded builds in one direction, so most of these choices are low impact.
Covenant Powers for Enhancement Shaman in Torghast
Every Covenant that you align your character with comes with a slew of Anima Powers exclusive to it, empowering either your class or signature ability depending on your selection that will show in in the pool of options throughout a run.
Kyrian
Kyrian Enhancement Shaman have access to a few powers focusing on
暮钟图腾
that all have fairly good benefits, and then a wildly varying boost to the value of your

is solid as a flat damage increase option to an already very bursty AoE tool.
暮风辔头
is another flat increase to both the healing and damage, and also scales up with the Epic power option.

just a flat decrease to the cooldown of something you want to be using very frequently, so always worth stacking.
痛苦之瓶
incredibly
useful as an on demand burst tool for your Phials. Always worth grabbing (and stacking!).
None of the Kyrian options really alter your gameplay style or choices, and instead are just flat increases to damage or frequency of abilities already available.
Necrolord
Necrolord Enhancement is fundamentally at a disadvantage in Torghast because of the Covenant ability losing out on a core aspect of what all other Covenants have - self healing. Sadly, none of the powers really alleviate this, but there are some to watch out for:
灵魂之尘沙漏
lets you free fire the ability more often without much worry, but there's not a lot we can leverage with this.
分裂元素之杖
gives a mini-Bloodlust effect to every cast assuming you roll a few
烈焰震击
s which pairs up well with other Covenant specific choices.
化石骨骼碎片
is pretty weak despite the boost in casts you already get. Unless you get an abundance of
风暴引导
it's doubtful you'll notice this much.
易爆血肉
turns your
血肉铸造
into a burst AoE cooldown that can be used to blow up large packs.
Necrolord has a small chance to lean you toward using
火焰新星
, but given that your self healing is lower than other Covenants pulling big enough to justify this is unlikely. Necrolord is simply not conducive to the way Enhancements powers and playstyle go, so you aren't going to see much drastic change outside of trying something out of the ordinary.
Night Fae
Night Fae's powers are extremely lacking in most situations, and are hyper focused on one type of damage profile which also matches the ability in a way.

cast. This is already a single target oriented ability so this doubles down on that , but the inflexibility of wolves makes this a very targeted power.

is a simple amplification and reduction in opportunity cost to your

provides flat cooldown reduction to
法夜输灵
that is stackable. This being a high value cast makes this uesful, but low impact compared to some generic powers.
None of the
灵魂变形
are really worthwhile picking up as a priority because they have very little impact on the way that the spec plays.
Venthyr
Venthyr has some interesting choices but rarely will they be high impact picks that you rush to grab.

casts by 100%. Unfortunately both of these are low value casts in either situation, so while it is nice will rarely make much of a difference.

to every target hit. This is just a flat boost to your AoE damage and also adds a really fun aspect to

with a spread (that it really should have already) to actually see how the spell should work. Despite this the long cooldown makes it more of a fun option rather than a dealbreaker high value pick.

is a flat 10% Critical Strike chance to both damage and healing for
收割链
that helps with both the output and the cooldown reduction. This is a solid stackable option and worth grabbing if put against lower value picks.
枯萎面具
increases the damage targets you pass through with
暗影之门
take by 20%, turning it into a damage amp tool to pair with your other cooldowns.
While Venthyr has some things that are fun to try, none of it really makes it worth deviating from the "meta" builds outside of a for fun run if you're aiming to clear comfortably. The one exception is
枯萎面具
that turns your
暗影之门
into a damage amp, and should be used on high value targets.
Best Anima Powers for Enhancement Shaman
Enhancement has a very low amount of power synergy that creates "builds" to define a run. It does however have a very defined set of extremely strong enabling powers that trickle down throughout other options. Most of these are bracketed into Defensive and Offensive tools, with some overlap.
Offensive Choices
Lots of our tools are fairly low impact and not all that exciting, but an increase is an increase and helps you grind down those higher health enemies.
元素之核
is a surefire great pick always, especially early in a run. This is the only power that really targets any of Enhancement's base kit, and
风暴打击
is a great spell to prop up.
愤怒之灵
beefs up your
嗜血
window by guaranteeing a full 40 seconds (!) of
升腾
uptime. This also pairs especially well with the following power:
死亡先知的鞭笞
gives you 15 seconds of
嗜血
every time you drop a totem (with a 30 second internal cooldown). We have a no cooldown option to trigger this in
风怒图腾
so can be done on cooldown for high value, and is one of the best picks to grab in any run.
死亡先知的颈饰
increases your damage by 5% per active totem (up to 4), so is a fairly dull but flat boost. This pairs well with
死亡先知的背包
to speed up the totem placement, and avoid totems expiring and wasting the benefit.
风暴引导
is just a flat stackable buff to
闪电箭
and
闪电链
. While these aren't really our huge damage sources, the lack of alternatives and the degree of the amplification can cause our Maelstrom spenders to pack a good punch with enough of these.
黑化巨石
is a good choice to deal with the higher health elites in each wing. Note though this doesn't work with
裂地术
, so
电能图腾
is your only option to active this.
Sadly, Enhancement is lacking in any real synergistic pairings or even powers that directly influence our toolkit. Therefore we have to rely a lot on the base kit, and thankfully we can do that just fine.
Defensive & Utility Choices
These are extremely important to grab (especially early) to stabilize your first few floors and comfortably deal with high damage enemies. Some of these are stackable while others are instant benefits, so consider grabbing a few of these in some of the high damage wings.
潺潺溪流
provides a massive sustain boost to each
治疗之泉图腾
and in many cases can keep you healthy regardless of damage intake so long as you pull sensibly.
死亡先知之心
has excellent scaling and will always be active due to
风怒图腾
maintenance if you're in trouble.
死亡先知的背包
a slam dunk easy pick in almost all situations. This can drop totems from any of the 3 specs and even includes talents, so can have crossovers for any situation. You can even spam
风怒图腾
to fish for totems if you're in an emergency, and has excellent synergy with
死亡先知的颈饰
.
血液凝霜
is a massive damage reduction when
冰霜震击
is cast on your target. This also applies to multiple enemies when using
冰雹
, making it an excellent pairing if you're pulling aggressively.
Both
无瑕水域
and
抚慰之水的水瓶
boost up your
治疗之泉图腾
to the level of a big defensive cooldown, and are easy picks if you're having any issues surviving.
哀嚎之风
is a big reduction to your
风剪
and can be stacked, giving extra ways of dealing with the more aggressive caster wings.
枯萎大地
reduces the cooldown of
土元素
and can be stacked to reduce it down to a 1 minute cooldown, giving you a permanent pocket tank!
Due to Enhancement's toolkit having a lot of ways to deal with different scenarios but having limits because of their low impact, grabbing a few of these powers are highly recommended to make yourself durable enough to dish out damage with our base toolkit without being ground down by elites.

Missing my favorite power combo. Get 2 stacks of Deadened Earth, plus Deeptremor Stone, and you have a 100% uptime Earthquake Elemental.

One of the strongest offensive Combos is a lot of haste+the flame cauldronx2 imo since they buffed it to 40%, if you stack it 2 times and get lashing flames, flameshock alone does like 10-15k dps, together with the chain harvest flameshock spread its also pretty good on aoe.

This guide is really disappointing. Enhancement is just silly strong in Torghast and I often help other players in my guild with levels that I just blew through with no issues. I am Necrolord Emhancement, btw.

I did twisting corridors solo as enhance 192ilvl. A bit low but i made it work. It took me a couple attempts of gaming the twisting corridors but here's my advice.
While u can breeze through most trash to reach floor 18, most of endbosses will truck you with melee autos before it even gains the stacking damage buff.
- At the start of your run, reset until you get fractured chambers. This is the easiest torment as if you
logout and back in
the torment disappears. This lets you wait for cds in safety or just afk a bit. You have 5ish mins to log back in before the game removes you, so you can send potions or food if you need from alts.
- Save up 255 phantasim in floors 1 and 2. On the buy floor get a ravenous anima cell for 250 and the 1 normal cell for 5 anima.
- Use the anima cell on a mawsworn surrounded by skeletons or a lumbering creation. This will give you all the phantasim you need as fracture chambers is full of skeletons.
- Next part is RNG. If you get fractured again, fantastic, if not you might want to reset. The goal is to avoid bad torments for floors 7-12. 15% extra mob hp is the death of your climb as its the difference between your endboss having 6/7 million hp or 10million hp. Same for the Soulforge fire dot ,or a double magic or double physical debuff floor (27% each). In a perfect run you get double or triple facture chambers but thats not gona happen. In my opinion the only torment worth the risk is the 15% extra physical dmg debuff. At floor 7 it should start at 3% and since the layer8 floor 18 boss will 1 shot you anyway if it gets in melee range whats another 15%. The floor 6 and floor 12 boss should be a easy if you get this far with only 1m and 2.5m hp each.
- In my layer 8 run. I got fracture chamber, upper reaches and fracture chamber a 2nd time. Therefore my only torment was 15% extra physical dmg. My floor 18 endboss was Gherus the Chained. He hit super hard for a "caster" type and 1shot me if i didn't have a astral shift between earth ele and stuns. I manged to clutch the win buy zerging with perma hero/ascendance build with a random shammy rez totem that dropped from the random totem anima power saving me before boss reset fully. I had the frost shock kills at 10% power aswell. I was missing 1 anima power to get my perfect setup but ill explain what my plan was.
- Since every boss will 1 shot you in melee, a perma hero/ascendance build with negation well (jump power) and bottled enigma means unless a boss has an uninterruptible aoe spell with far range nothing can hit you or catch up with you. Meanwhile your blasting with ascendance for close to 2mins plus.
- Epic powers 1. totems casue heroism every 30s, 2. heroism casue ascendance, 3. frost shock kills at 10%. Bonus if u get double cap totem epic.
- Rare powers 1. stun casues 25% extra dmg, 2. bottled enigma power so casters cant hit you (most of the time) 3. negation well - jump power. Bonus powers are the nature dmg dot power and totems drop random totems.
- Green powers 1. Elemental core 2. Lens of Elchaver <---this is bis for damage. it procs all the time for enhance so the more the better if u can get them. 3. take as many 15% haste to heroism powers as you can get.
- Fill out double ele guardian power, guardian with earthquake, double wind shear power, double flame shock, as many standing close to totems for x heals as u can spare. frost shock casues 25% less dmg and healing totem casue 25% less dmg. Lightning bolt and clain lightning buff.
So in practice, you start with a cap totem for 25% debuff. You gain ascendance and hero from this totem but wait a second. Send in ele guardian once stun goes off, drop windfury totem and start blasting. When you get aggro its kiting time. Keep your distance with jumps and pop heroism when initial ascendance from cap totem fades. When hero/ascendance fades drop windfury totem again for ascendance buff, when that fades pop ascendance cooldown, when that fades windfury again.
This cycle give you 2mins plus of ascendance boosted by heroism powers, extra arcane dmg, fire/frost/nature proc dmg if u got them, the perma nature dmg dot if u also got luckly; all the while the endboss cant do anything but chase you around. ascendance has a range of 30yards so your always inrange for windshear or purge if needed. then once the boss is at 10% frost shock kills it.
