Welcome to Wowhead's Fury Warrior Arena PvP Guide, up to date for 9.2! In this section of the guide, we will cover each Covenant and its viability for Fury Warriors. We explain the usefulness of each Covenant to a Fury Warrior in PvP, allowing you to make the best decision for your PvP playstyle. Recommendations for Soulbinds will be explored for each Covenant.

Covenants
Covenants are a key part of the Shadowlands expansion. Selecting a Covenant gives you access to exclusive abilities - one that is Covenant-wide, and one that is specific to your class. You will also be given a choice of Soulbinds to enhance your power. For more information on Covenants, click here.
Soulbinds
Soulbinding is a new progression system that allows you to bind yourself to a significant member of your Covenant and share some of their power. Each Covenant has three potential Soulbind options with unique bonuses which can be powered up through a Soulbind tree. As you gain Renown with your Covenant, more rows of your Soulbind tree will be unlocked. Conduits add further possibility for customization, filling empty sockets with one of three bonus types. Conduits
Conduits are available in three types; Potency, Endurance, and Finesse. Potency Conduits increase your spell power, Endurance Conduits provide additional defense, and Finesse Conduits provide you with additional utility. Some Conduits are the same across classes but some are specific to your class. For more information on Conduits, click here.
Best Covenant for Fury Warrior in PvP
Below is a list from the best to the worst Fury Warrior covenants. These are prioritizing PvP as your main focus, so if you're struggling to decide if you are doing PvE content as well, then this priority may change for you:
Kyrian/Necrolord
Venthyr
Night Fae
Kyrian has reclaimed its top spot due to the power of the double legendary system heavily favouring Kyrian. This is because you have access to

allowing you to lock down many classes, dishing out a ton of pressure! It could also be used to peel off targets, being unable to move out of the radius for 8 seconds! It also gives a ton of rage and allows you to have easy up-time, which is excellent for Fury Warriors!
Necrolord has risen up the ranks, being joint with Kyrian depending on your composition! This is due to

being excellent with certain specs, especially with Melee specs, that can gain a lot of pressure during your Banner windows. It can also be the game changer when needing extra self-survivability, which may edge out on Kyrian if you need extra self-healing!
Venthyr becomes a much more powerful contender when you have 4 set tier bonus. In theory,

will have great synergy with it, but in PvP it's may be more difficult to pull off, given the nature of fluctuating enemy HP's, as well as high up-time being an issue against most compositions. The other covenants also offer better defensive options in comparison to Venthyr, which may always be preferred than the extra single dps target increase this covenant should provide. More testing will be needed but unless the pressure of this 4 set + double legendary outweighs the benefits of Kyrian or Necrolord, I don't see it being better than either.
Night Fae has powerful burst, being able to pair

with

for big 1-shot potential! This can be a bit of a gimmick but it's powerful enough to remain a good choice overall for Fury Warriors. This will be mainly good for warriors that use Night Fae for PvE, prioritizing their PvE gameplay in WoW but want to have some fun in PvP as fury!
Changing Covenants - Factors to Consider
For competitive gameplay, you basically have 2 viable options when it comes to Covenants. Kyrian will still be your number one choice as it's viable with most compositions and overall the best in both brackets. The downside is having to craft a covenant specific legendary for it (
极乐伟力
) but it is needed and makes the Covenant incredibly powerful.
Necrolord is viable if you value the self-survivability over the reliable pressure that Kyrian provides. You still have pressure with Necrolord yourself, but it will be a longer cooldown and is mainly used when paired with another melee such as a Ret Paladin. I would go Necrolord if I was struggling to live myself or if my DPS partner could greatly benefit from
征服者战旗
.
Night Fae could still be a decent contender for those that PvE with it and want to PvP with Fury for fun.
Venthyr will only be worth considering once you acquire the 4 set bonus from the new tier set. This should make you have a high up-time of
鲁莽
, benefitting from

. It's a sole DPS gain increase (in theory) which would have to outweigh the utility of other covenants in order to be worth picking!
TLDR:
Kyrian and Necrolord are the overall best choices, depending on the composition you play, as well as if you want extra self survivability. Night Fae is a decent choice, being great for those that PvE and PvP or for more casual gameplay. Venthyr will become worth using when you have the 4-set, being a sole DPS gain which may or may not be more powerful than the other covenants.
Conduits
Generally speaking, as a Fury Warrior, your best tree will try to involve
3x Potency conduits
or
3x Finesse conduits
, due to 3x Endurance conduits being weak for Fury. Certain trees may go down that road due to the power of other conduits in that tree. Since you can change the trees in arena, it's important to have the conduits where I suggest putting them so that you can change your tree routes in the arena games for a slight advantage depending on the matchups. I'll dive into this more with each tree that I think will be worth to do depending on the situation in your arena games, but first here's the list of Fury Warrior conduits I ranked in order for arena:
Best Potency Conduits
狂乱深渊
- Having this can prolong your biggest offensive cooldown, giving you a bigger chance to land kills by creating more pressure. It also has excellent synergy with
愤怒掌控
making this conduit choice mandatory when playing with this talent. You should definitely prioritize this conduit above all others.
劈斩
- Once you acquire the new 2 or 4 Set bonus, this conduit increases in power, being able to get more
怒击
potentially, increasing your pressure by quite a margin throughout an arena game!

(for Night Fae) - This conduit will be mandatory when needing more burst damage as a Night Fae, meaning you'll ideally have 3x Potency slots as Night Fae if you want to deal the most damage!

(for Necrolord) - Having added strength during your biggest offensive maneuver will make this conduit much stronger than your other second potency conduit when playing as Necrolord.

windows more potent makes this an excellent 3rd choice for Kyrian users.

- An incredibly powerful finesse conduit due to

being on a low cooldown, making it useful in any defensive situation. The only time this conduit could be lackluster is when you are the main kill target, in which case, most soulbind trees provide the option to swap the route and pick up

- An underrated utility conduit that can be very powerful for more kiting opportunities, as well as peeling melee off your partners more often! You could use this instead of

when favoring up-time or kiting utility over having extra power to your defensive cooldown.

- Another powerful conduit that can bolster your

, as well as increasing in power when playing with

. As such, you may want to pair this conduit and PvP talent together in matchups where you need them, being a good extra defensive option against high burst damage!
Best Endurance Conduits

- Simply the most powerful Endurance conduit by far, making

a significantly shorter cooldown! This allows you to use it way more often, as well as being able to trade it with nearly every powerful offensive cooldown in the game.

- The new runner up endurance conduit, giving a nice boost of self healing, being slightly better for Fury warriors, due to having slightly higher HP!

- A strong 3rd choice due to making use of

more often now in Shadowlands. It can help increase your self-healing even more-so, in matchups where it's difficult for you to live.
Playing as a Kyrian Fury Warrior in PvP
Signature Covenant Ability -
召唤执事者

is a decent life-saver, pretty much gaining a

usage in an arena game, being used like an emergency potion to save you from the brink of death. It also benefits from having a higher Health Pool, so it can be used in conjunction with

, increasing the healing throughput of the Phial!
One hindrance of this ability is that even though it has 3 stacks, you won't access the later ones unless you leave combat. If you do somehow manage to leave combat after using 1 Phial, then it will be on a
3 minute cooldown
until you can use a second stack, which is unlikely to happen in most arena games.
Class Covenant Ability -

晋升堡垒之矛
is a powerful ability, forcing enemy targets to stay in your range, allowing you to crush your chosen targets with ease. It can also be used as a defensive measure, stopping enemy targets from reaching your partners, allowing your partners to kite them!
极乐伟力
also increases the power of this Covenant ability by a ton, making it mandatory to take and it will be easier to maintain this legendary when you have access to double legendary powers! It's a highly versatile spell that, typically used offensively, that can work well in 2v2 or 3v3 games!
A big part of making use out of it is that you'll have to land it well. It being a skill-shot means that you may have to have a bit of practice using it well, but once you master it then you will reap the benefits from it!
Factors to Consider
Having
极乐伟力
opts for a Critical Strike which isn't too great for a base Fury build. However, since you can use
鲁莽
with nearly every Spear usage, this should make up for it! You should bare in mind when you want to burst, adding
晋升堡垒之矛
to the fray means you could use it just after popping
鲁莽
on your desired target(s), to increase the damage your Spear does, or to split up these offensive cooldowns, making it more difficult for the enemy team to peel.
晋升堡垒之矛
is excellent with other melee players, typically using it when both of you can burst a target down, allowing you and your melee partner to slay someone every minute! This is especially good in a composition like TSG, with a Frost Death Knight, that can deal absurd AoE damage, being able to

targets into a

, allowing you to easily land

on 2 targets and deal and absurd amount of 2 target pressure!
One big downside to
晋升堡垒之矛
is that quite a number of abilities from certain classes can allow them to escape the spear, avoiding your melee range and the pressure from the spear itself. Here are the spells to be wary of, so that you can look to be more cautious with your spear on these classes/specializations.
A Paladin's

usages against any Warlock team
Demon Hunters can use

As such, you should be careful with using the spear on classes with access to these spells, either waiting to use them or simply using them to bait out these defensive cooldowns. It also has diminishing effects with other knock effects, such as

Pelagos is a strong tree for Fury which can be utilized if you want an easy route to 3 potency conduits. It has

which are quite nice bonuses for a Fury Warrior.

is also nice to have, giving you extra damage and survivability, considering the increased HP will also increase your self-healing! I'd mainly pick Pelagos if I found no need for Mikanikos, or if I wanted to have

at my disposal.
1st + 2nd Row:
Right now, you should be using your potency route in order to pickup

is useless in arena, whereas

is extremely powerful, increasing the strength of your

by a ton! Even though it becomes a HoT, it will still be powerful enough to use similarly to your normal phial and will also benefit Fury slightly due to having high HP. You should also take

in the Finesse conduit slot here.
The endurance option (

) is just too weak in the arena, as well as it containing an endurance conduit, so you should never go this route
Renown 7:
Here you should lock in your

, being your most powerful endurance conduit by far.
Renown 10:
This is completely optional, being relatively useless in arena games, so feel free to choose whichever one is more suitable with your gameplay in WoW overall.
Renown 21:
Now you can put your

in this slot.
Renown 25:
Here is a nice place to put

in the endurance slot, using this most of the time. Alternatively, you could have

in the finesse slot, if you don't need the extra healing (which is unlikely to happen).

here will be your next best choice for potency conduits.

I'd say most of the time, you should go with

as this soulbind ability seems incredibly powerful for both durability and mobility with a very low cooldown! You'll also be picking up a finesse conduit over an endurance conduit, being more valuable. You should put
捍卫
in the finesse slot.

can be nice for extra DPS stats for you and your partner if you want as much pressure as possible. The third endurance should contain

.
Kleia is the weakest for Fury Warriors.
骁勇打击
is quite nice for added healing effects.

also adds more Critical Strike chance making it more likely to get

stacks, as well as providing a bit of DPS increase for you and your partner! That being said, these aren't strong enough to be warranted in comparison to the other 2 trees Kyrian provides.
1st + 2nd Row:
Choosing your potency conduit route first will be wanted, which you will probably stay due to a bit of a lacklustre alternative.

is excellent to have ASAP, with

being a nice extra bonus to you and your teammates.

could be situationally good into Feral Druids or Assassination Rogues, deterring their pressure when you use this well. The endurance conduit should contain

will be slightly more beneficial, being able to get this buff at the start of games, as well as potentially during a game if you're out of combat for long enough!

here, being the best endurance conduit for Fury Warriors by far.
Renown 28 + 34:
Here you realistically only have 2 viable choices. Whilst picking up a second endurance conduit is weak, getting
勇气外露
is quite a sizeable DPS buff which you'll be able to make great use out of. I would pick this route, using
浓缩的心能之球
as the endurance conduit.

is pretty much useless, being a worse version of your Warrior snares. However, this route can be nice if you want to pickup the 3rd potency conduit path, allowing you to gain

is overall too weak and it's affected by dampening, making it not as powerful compared to the other options.

here, being your second best potency conduit.

The choices here are quite underwhelming compared to the likes of the other trees, but

could be very useful against teams trying to take down your partners. This does have excellent synergy with

if you do pick it! You can also get another finesse conduit, allowing you to gain

can be a decent DPS gain but may not happen too often, as well as the movement speed buff hardly being useful in 3v3 games. It will also mean picking up a third endurance conduit, being

which will overall weaken the tree due to 2 extra endurance conduits being fairly weak for Fury Warriors overall.
Forgelite Prime Mikanikos is the best soulbind tree in my opinion, being the greatest for damage (by a tiny amount) but mainly its power comes from its defensive soulbinds that makes it unmatched compared to the other soulbinds, which is why I pick Mikanikos nearly all the time. This is due to the power of
闪亮的流波之球核心
being excellent for deterring high burst setups on yourself.

is also powerful, reducing the cooldown of your covenant ability, being an excellent addition!
1st + 2nd Row
Going the potency route will be your best course of action, picking up an early

gives you an auto heal, which can be nice during times where you are being killed in a stun lock. The main use of going this route is to pickup the Potency conduit, considering having

could have its uses on certain maps, being able to abuse it for more damage reduction.
5th Row:

here, being the best endurance conduit by far for Fury Warriors.
Renown 29 + 31:
Here you'll mainly use the finesse conduit route, whilst sometimes opting for the potency route when you want more pressure and aren't afraid of dying.

is an excellent deterrent to heavy openers, common against double DPS teams in 2v2, allowing you to pickup

is an excellent soulbind to use against teams that try to take you down rapidly, commonly against Rogues or Windwalkers. When taking this route, you can put

is terrible in the arena as it won't be refreshed often and it isn't as potent as the other 2 soulbinds, making this route a "no-go".

Now you can put in

here, being your 2nd best potency conduit.

is quite a nice extra boost in your damage, although you have to be a bit careful with targeting when getting this off. You'd also have to pick up a second endurance slot, which should have

Playing as a Necrolord Fury Warrior in PvP
Signature Covenant Ability -

The buff to this shield makes it deal an incredible amount of extra absorption, which can make it tedious for compositions with setups to go through. It can be nice to use at the start of games if you want the extra absorption to deal with pressure at the start of games, being able to increase its absorption amount dramatically, if used with

, deterring heavy openers.
You can also use it later on in the games, timing it well (with

) which can make you immune any CC or even bait out interrupts!
Class Covenant Ability -
征服者战旗
The banner's effect gives a ton of Mastery, being a useful stat for Fury Warriors as well as most other classes in general, being able to buff all party members in 2v2 or 3v3 games. The movement speed aspect will also make it easy to swing momentum and pressure in your favor, especially when playing with another melee class, allowing them to move with ease.
You can use this for yourself, during your other offensive cooldowns, or simply use it for your partners offensive cooldowns instead, depending on what you DPS class you play with.
Factors to Consider
征服者战旗
should mainly be used when dealing a ton of pressure, used with your own offensive cooldowns or your partners' ones. A great synergy use of this is pairing your banner with a Ret Paladin's
复仇之怒
allowing them to deal an absurd amount of extra damage. In general, this will be a nice covenant choice in melee cleave compositions, used during your offensive setups!
You could look to try and pool enough rage for a
暴怒
when you start using your Banner, so you can make better use of
荣耀
, prolonging your
征服者战旗
.
Marileth remains to be the best soulbind choice here for a number of reasons. Not only do you keep 3 potency conduits, but you gain 2 powerful soulbind conduits from Marileth.

is another incredibly powerful soulbind, giving you CC immunity, making

MUCH more powerful to use. If timed well you can negate crowd control on yourself, making it a strong conduit to have!

sounds like an excellent bonus to have during the most aggressive times of your fight. More testing will be needed, but Marileth sounds like it will be the best overall choice for this covenant for Fury Warriors.
1st + 2nd Row:
The potency conduit route should be the only route you take as its far better than any other one. You get an early

being excellent for Fury Warrior pressure, as well as gaining

being a nice addition to your self healing.
Renown 9:

Either choice is fine, being nearly irrelevant in arena games, so choose whichever you prefer.

Here is an ideal time to have

as your endurance slot, choosing whichever one is more needed in the arena game.

Here the choice can be quite optional.

looks like it can be quite nice when dealing with offensive setups or pressure where you are high on health, as well as picking up an extra finesse conduit, allowing you to grab

is great into melee that you may need to kite in order to increase the chances of you living. It does pick up another endurance conduit though, meaning you'll have

Emeni has some niche conduit picks, but lacks the power of the other specific soulbinds that Marileth provides.

is quite a nice bonus to your most offensive cooldown.

Going the potency route will be your best choice in order to pickup an early

There are 2 viable routes here. 1 being the potency conduit route, allowing you to pick up

The finesse route is nice for the deterrent, as you can pick up

which is good in all matchups (used until you can get to renown 49), as well as picking up

which is an excellent deterrent against melees that are trying to take you down.

is irrelevant in arena, as well as requiring another endurance conduit, making this route forgettable.
Renown 42:
Now you can put

Renown 45 + 49:
The Finesse route here seems much better than the endurance route, seen as

will only be useful most likely at the start of games and if you use an early banner.

is an extra form of self healing that should be relatively easy to keep occurring every 1 minute, giving you a margin of extra self healing against magic damage.

could be used here as your finesse slot, meaning

should be used in the renown 28 slot!
Heirmir is the weakest choice for Necrolord, given the fact that 2 potency conduit trees lead to an undesirable soulbind ability.
炉脉幻想
is a slightly decent buff benefit to your strength and armor. The afterlife fighting from this soulbind rarely does anything, due to having 50% less damage and the enemy team being aware of this will most likely survive.

could be very powerful for a Fury Warrior as it has good synergy with Execute, making it quite strong. That being said, I don't see myself picking this tree over Marileth or Emeni.
1st + 2nd Row:
At the start, you'll want to pickup

for your first potency slot. This comes at a price, considering

The choices here once again are quite annoying due to the best soulbind abilities being paired with the worst type of conduits beforehand, making all the choices here come with a downside. Another potency slot here is nice, picking up

, but you receive

which is a very weak soulbind, so you'll only go this route if you really want the extra potency slot.

Playing as a Night Fae Fury Warrior in PvP
Signature Covenant Ability -

is a nice addition to a Fury Warrior's mobility, giving you an added mobility cooldown to kite targets or catch up to them! This will most likely be used for chasing down elusive targets, making healer race-zerg matchups more favorable for you. It could also be used to kite away from targets, even being able to use it under root effects, increasing your mobility!
Class Covenant Ability -

上古余震
can do a serious amount of damage, making it powerful for burst damage in PvP situations. The problem is that keeping them in the spells range will be incredibly difficult, making it weaker in PvP scenarios compared to the likes of a Kyrian's Spear. The initial damage of it though can be enough to cause panic, forcing defensive cooldowns.

could deal an absurd amount of damage, taking a huge chunk out of an enemy players HP.
Niya gives 3 potency conduits as well as 2 other good soulbind choices, being slightly the best in terms of maximum DPS output, which could be warranted in matchups if that's all you need.

is a decent boost to more damage and health which are nice stats to have as a Fury Warrior!

could be decent in matchups where you only need mobility, not worried about surviving, and aren't heavily hindered by strong snares. This is an extremely niche situation, unlikely to happen, but if it does then this could help you gain extra mobility. It will mean using

as your endurance slot, which is quite weak.
Dreamweaver feels like the best overall choice, having excellent soulbind abilities, as well as route choices that benefit Fury Warrior extremely well! During your burst windows,

is a welcome sight, which could have some use in arena.

is a nice life-saving ability as well, however on a 10 minute cooldown, it can either not be useful or it will save your life!
梦境探索者
is also a nice extra DPS bonus that is very easy to utilize. I would take Dreamweaver as my default, using it nearly all the time, except in situations where you want every ounce of DPS possible from Niya.
1st Row:

will come into play more often in the arena but you can swap depending if you or your teammates are taking more pressure.

which is an extremely powerful soulbind in PvP, being able to use it quite often as a Fury Warrior, making this route the best by far.

is a weak choice considering this will be unlikely to proc for a Fury Warrior, and even if it does it will be super underwhelming.

is actually quite a decent choice in itself, however it costing an endurance slot makes this route very unappealing.
Renown 21:
Now you can put in your

here, being your best endurance conduit.
Renown 29:
This choice is completely optional, so choose whatever your personal preference is.
Renown 42:
Here you should take

in this slot.
Renown 45 + 49:

is heavily nerfed in PvP, but it's still the better choice in this route, giving you an extra bit of self-healing. You also gain another finesse slot, allowing you to use

here.

is just completely underwhelming in comparison, and really won't have a great use. It also comes with an endurance slot, making this route one that you probably will never use.
Korayn appears to be nice but it's still the weakast overall choice.

which could be utilized when bursting with

, increasing your burst damage potential.

seems quite powerful on the surface, making it a nice extra dps bonus for yourself.
1st + 2nd Row:
The potency route is the clear winner here, which means you'll use it all the time. You pick up an early

which is very powerful to have.

is also quite a nice extra benefit for your allies.

could be quite nice if you're able to make it work, however it will be extremely difficult to make this work during times of need, making it lacklustre in general. It also forces you to pick up an endurance conduit, being unappealing overall.
3rd Row:

should be used here, being a powerful finesse to have which is useful most of the time.
4th Row:
This row is more optional, although

could be a tiny bit more useful inside arena games.
5th Row:
In this slot, you should use

Again, here you only have 1 real choice, being the potency route. You pick up

, being quite easy to keep up in PvP scenarios.

sounds like quite a nice chunk of extra burst pressure but in reality would make very little difference in arena games, as well as having a weak amount of up-time and costing an endurance slot, making it not worth taking this route.

could be a much more niche pick into physical damage dealers but requires you to stand still, making it only good in openers against certain compositions.
Renown 41:

should be used here, giving you your third potency conduit, dishing out as much damage as possible.

Both options here are viable however

seems to the best overall, given that you can interrupt your targets casts in order to disrupt their damage more often. That means putting

Signature Covenant Ability -

Having extra mobility is always a welcome sight, even if it's a long cooldown. Being able to bait interrupts with it could also be quite useful in PvP, especially if you're playing with a caster or a healer that's desperate to get casts off. You can also use it as a means to CC with
混沌代理人
helping in offensive or defensive situations!
Class Covenant Ability -

Having extra damage in the form of magic pressure is also an excellent addition to Warriors in PvP. It used to be the best single-target covenant damage wise, but now it has fallen behind in pressure due to armor nerfs in PvP, as well as
斩杀
being buffed, which has let
判罪
fall behind.
This covenant will be the simplest one to get used to, having no extra button to press damage wise, making it more alt friendly to those that prefer that type of gameplay.

will add to that chunk of pressure, prolonging the pressure you have, making it very nice for even more damage!

The finesse route is also an excellent choice, gaining

in the finesse slot. More importantly you gain

which can be super powerful when you know you'll most likely be on that target throughout the whole game! I'd take this route if I know i'll be sticking to mainly 1 target.

Theotar is never picked as a Fury Warrior, due to the power of the other 2 trees outweighing this tree.

is a decent DPS increaase on paper but in reality when you're chasing targets, it will be hard to make full use out of this soulbind.

is a nice extra DPS buff but it can be RNG, making it tedious if unable to get a favourable stat buff (usually wanting Haste or Versatility).

On this choice, both routes are viable. The finesse route gives you an early

Draven will be the best defensive soulbind tree for Venthyr, gaining

which makes you more durable as soon as your HP drops to 40% which is excellent when you are the main kill target.
