Useful Macros for Fury Warriors in PvP
Having useful macros for your class, or furthermore for yourself, can make playing the game much more user-friendly. Macros are designed to make decisions with less difficulty than would otherwise be required. The main type of macros I’d advise are focus macros.
Cancelaura
剑刃风暴
You can put this macro into as many important spells as you like (as shown below) or simply have a standalone macro binding to cancel your
剑刃风暴
, in order for you to use other abilities.
#show
/cancelaura Bladestorm
/cast Storm Bolt
Focus Macros
Focus
冲锋
:
#show
/cast Charge
Focus
缴械
:
#show
/cast Disarm
Focus
破胆怒吼
#show
/cast Intimidating Shout
Focus
拳击
#show
/cast Pummel
Focus
断筋
#show
/cast Hamstring
Focus
风暴之锤
#show
/cast Storm Bolt
These are the focus macros I personally use. Having focus 1,2,3 or target 1,2,3 macros are also very useful if you find clicking or tabbing to your targets a bit too frustrating. Much like with most things, practice makes perfect, so get used to having these macros and practice using them. This should make the fluidity of the game a better experience for yourself!
狂怒回复
Macro
Another useful macro that I've started to use is for
狂怒回复
:
#show Enraged Regeneration
/cast Enraged Regeneration
/cast Bloodthirst
This macro allows you to instantly get off your
嗜血
when you press your
狂怒回复
. This makes it a lot easier to use just in case the enemy team tries to deny you of your heals, which could end up killing you. This macro should make it a lot easier to use and help capitalize on getting off 3x
嗜血
giving you 75% of your health back, which is a huge deal!
援护
Macros
There are 3 different ways you can use Intervene macros:
1 - Party1 + Party2 macros;
#show
/cast Intervene
#show
/cast Intervene
2 - Name macros (1 macro for healer and the other for DPS);
#show
/cast Intervene
3 - Mouseover intervene macro
#show
/cast Intervene
There's no real right or wrong in which Intervene macros you want to use, all are good for using Intervene with ease and can come down to which one you find easier to use. I personally prefer the name macros, as I'm used to having 1 binding for healers and 1 binding for DPS, which I got used to over time. Although it can be a bit tedious to have multiple names to change, which is why others prefer the party1+2 macros.
晋升堡垒之矛
cursor macro
#show Spear of Bastion
/cast Spear of Bastion
/cast Spear of Bastion
This macro can take getting used to, as you go from double pressing your
晋升堡垒之矛
binding, to using your cursor, pointing it where you want to use the spear, then pressing this macro to instantly use it. This results in not having to press the binding twice, in order to use it as soon as possible if you have good aim. The downsides are that it can take a while to get used to, as well as being difficult to use max range spears, but it will make normal spear usage easier in my opinion.
All of these above macros add to the fluidity of the game, making it easier to make quick decisions with the use of these macros. This can be important in timely situations when you need to use one of these abilities in a split second. Any later could result in using the ability too late and the effect of it being wasted! Get used to practicing with focus target macros if you want to do well in arena. Practice makes perfect!
You can add or delete as many macros as you want as they are for personal preference. These are the ones I like and you can use more, but be careful not to make macros that can backfire. There won’t be shortcuts to making any overpowered all-in-one macros, so just make macros that help you effectively.
Addons for Fury Warriors in PvP
Note: This section will only cover PvP specific addons that I think are valuable to arena gameplay specifically. UI addons and other addons outside of PvP can be used here but they are all personal preference!
Addons in PvP can be a massive help during arena games, which basically allow you to play the game with more ease. Using as many or as little addons as you like is entirely up to you and I suggest using as many as possible that can help improve your gameplay, without cluttering too much information that could make it more difficult for yourself. Here are a few Addons that I personally like to use or think are greatly beneficial for those that want to PvP and need extra help:
Enemy Arena Frames
Gladius
or
sArena
are excellent addons used by the majority of PvP players as they can show you a ton of information, including their trinket cooldown, cast bars, and dispel cooldown. More importantly, they show the Diminishing Returns of crowd control on each enemy, meaning that you'll know
exactly
when you can crowd control efficiently without worrying about it being diminished.
Tracking Enemy Cooldowns
Another vital addon is
OmniBar
, which tracks the enemies cooldowns. You can use this to track interrupts, stuns, and important offensive or defensive cooldowns, allowing you to read the game with more ease. You can also add as many abilities as you'd like, but keep in mind that this may clutter your screen if you add too much so try to be selective. This is mostly fine in 3v3 but in Rated Battlegrounds it could be a nightmare to have too many abilities active at once!
GladiatorlosSA2
is another addon that can track enemy cooldowns but in a different way. Instead of a visual on your screen, it will give an audio update when certain key spells are being used depending on what you want to track, which could make it easier for you to be aware of. It can also call out when the enemy healers go for drinks, big heals, or when the enemy uses their interrupts.
Diminish
Diminish
can track your own diminishing returns on crowd control. For Fury Warriors, this is specifically excellent in being able to watch out for
Stun DRs
so that you can maximize your damage in battle stance, then swapping to
防御姿态
before the stun DR comes up, being incredible against any player that wants to hit you. You can also use it to track normal CC DRs on yourself, allowing CC like
变形术
or
恐惧
to land on you if you know it will be diminished, not getting baited out on your interrupts, and keeping you in less CC throughout an arena game!
WeakAuras
WeakAuras
is an addon I don't use, but I seriously should due to the highly customized function it can provide for you in an arena game. A lot of examples include showing a buff whether or not you are in
防御姿态
, showing when enemy healers are going for drinks, customizing any buffs or debuffs to show more clearly of more importance, etc. Many arena players use this addon and have a bunch of custom WeakAuras that could significantly help with any class' performance!
BigDebuffs
Having
BigDebuffs
is a simple yet truly effective addon, doing what it says on the tin. Being able to see Debuffs from the enemy target more clearly can help you instantly react to the current situation. One big example I like it for is seeing when facing a Ret Paladin, as they can use the small wings from
清算光环
, baiting you into using a big defensive cooldown, then later destroying you with
复仇之怒
. BigDebuffs will show the duration of the buff in seconds, allowing you to know which version of
复仇之怒
they use instantly, making you able to deal with it with more ease.
This addon can also be great for seeing lockout durations with your interrupt, knowing they won't be able to use any cooldowns or certain abilities from being locked out in their school, which could allow you to chain a stun on them perfectly, maximizing your kill pressure. It could also be simply nice to know that you landed your interrupt or not!
REFlex
I'd say
REFlex
is one addon here that is not a necessity, as you don't actively use this addon in arena games. However, this could be a nice addon to see your match history, which could give you some extra knowledge about compositions you're struggling with or just generally seeing who you beat and who you lose to. This could be useful as it could maybe change how you play future games in order to increase your odds of winning!
An example of this could be when I was facing a particular composition, seeing that I would always win the long games but lose the short games when facing this composition. I would then change my playstyle and PvP talents to go for long games, knowing that I would most likely win those against said composition.
One warning with using this addon though is that it won't track games that you leave. This can be done by using /afk or clicking the top right arena icon and choosing "Leave Arena". You will want to try to cut this habit if you want this addon to track all of your games.
Tracking Partners' Cooldowns
This leads us to tracking your partners' cooldowns, which can be nice if you want to take the initiative with using certain cooldowns or if you're simply playing off voice comms and want to know what abilities they have ready. There are quite a few different versions of these addons, but I personally use
Arena Team Tracker
as you can add spells as well as important trinkets that could be used for setups or surviving!
Note:
when playing against Frost Death Knights, the cooldowns of your partners may not be available when the addon states it is, which is the only downside of using this addon.
Damage Meters
Using damage meters can you track and compare damage between you and your opposition. My personal favourite is
Details
as you can see the breakdown of any ability as well as CC breakers or interrupts used on specific spells, so you can cover a lot of information in an arena game that can help you improve in future arena games!
