This Allied Race Leveling Tips Overview will cover best Kul Tiran Human specs to level, starting abilities, and available classes.
Overview
Kul Tiras was founded by fearless explorers who sailed uncharted waters in search of adventure. As a key member of the Alliance of Lordaeron, the Kul Tiran navy dominated the seas of Azeroth with its legendary fleet. But after years of turmoil and hardship, the kingdom grew isolated and vulnerable to dark influences. Thanks to the help of brave heroes, House Proudmoore has been restored and Kul Tiras is poised to fight alongside the valiant Alliance once more.
Prerequisites
You must have Battle for Azeroth purchased.
You must complete some pre-requisites to access the Kul Tiran questlines:
requires completion of the War Campaigns of Patches 8.0 and 8.1, which should take several hours to complete. Reference the
Alliance War Campaign Guide
if you need assistance with any quest.
: Exalted with
may take several weeks to obtain, as you can only earn a limited amount of reputation through World and Emissary quests. Reference the
Proudmoore Admiralty Reputation Guide
for details on which Tiragarde Sound zone quests provide reputation.
: Complete all the Kul Tiran story questline achievements -
,
and
.
Complete the Kul Tiran Human Recruitment Scenario. This scenario shows the Alliance fully mending their relationship with Kul Tiras, by building a ship for their navy as a token of appreciation. Finishing this questline awards you the achievement
.
The achievement also awards you with the mount
. The Kul Tiran Charger is the Kul Tiran Human's racial mount and can be used by all Alliance characters.
After unlocking Kul Tiran Humans, you can also race change existing characters to become Kul Tirans.
Leveling Reward: Heritage Armor
Leveling a newly-created Kul Tiran Human to 110 without a leveling boost will award you the achievement
, and the transmog set
Kul Tiran Heritage Armor
. This highly detailed set features a stylized tricorne hat and pirate-like threads including a full body coat, and can only be transmogrified by Kul Tiran Human characters.
You can preview this armor in our
Dressing Room
, or check out below:
Best Leveling Route
Leveling in Patch 8.1.5 offers great flexibility, as many zones scale as you level up, which in turn allow you to complete stories without a fear of outleveling the quests. If you care about achievements, prioritize zones you haven't completed on other characters, so you gain achievement points for finishing new zones. The amount of experience and level pace will vary based on the amount of rested xp and heirlooms you have, so here are some general suggestions:
Efficient Leveling Routes
At level 20, start questing in
and then move onto the adjacent areas like
,
, and
.
and
are also efficient leveling zones and can be easily reached if you have heirlooms that teach flight paths.
When deciding between Outland or Northrend, Northrend is an overall more diverse continent.
When deciding between Pandaria and Cataclysm, go to Pandaria and mainly follow zones that focus on the Pandaren culture -
,
,
.
In Warlords, focus on treasures and bonus objectives - this goes much faster with flying!
Check our
Draenor Pathfinder Guide
if you have yet to unlock flight in Draenor!
In Legion, quest through the four-story zones and prioritize Legion Assaults (on 18-hour timers). You can learn more about assaults in our
Legion Assault Guide
.
In Battle for Azeroth, quest through the three-story zones and work with your faction to unlock footholds on the Horde territory in Zuldazar. You can also do Faction Incursions for an experience buff every 18 hours. For more information, check our
Faction Incursion guide
.
Dungeons are no longer a good source of leveling experience unless you're queueing for a random dungeon, as most of the experience comes from the bonus on completion.
Kul Tiran themed leveling zones
Although Kul Tiras hasn't appeared as a continent until Battle for Azeroth, many zones in Azeroth feature Kul Tiran questlines.
Before level 60, you can quest in
in Theramore Isle, a port city ruled by Lady Jaina Proudmoore.
and
also feature questlines involving the lore of Kul Tiras.
In Northrend, you can accompany the storyline of Arthas Menethil, the former Lich King and former love interest of Jaina, in zones like
,
and
. In Outland, the lore of Kael'thas Sunstrider, another love interest of Jaina, can be explored in
and
.
In Cataclysm, you can learn more about Grim Batol, the place where Horde enslaved the red dragons that were used to kill Derek Proudmoore in
.
Although there isn't really any lore on Kul Tiras in Draenor, you can learn more about the powers of the Void, the agent that drove most of the storyline of the Kul Tiran fleet in Stormsong Valley, with the Shadowmoon Clan in
.
Battle for Azeroth is all about Kul Tiras! You can learn the storylines of each major Kul Tiran house in the three Kul Tiras zones.
War Mode
Battle for Azeroth introduced a new PVP system:
War Mode
. War Mode is a replacement to the division of old PVP/PVE realms, with players being able to decide whether they want to be in a zone with PVP enabled or disabled. By enabling War Mode, you will be in zones with PvP always enabled, meaning you can get attacked by the opposing faction, but, in return, you have access to PvP Talents and extra rewards, like 10% extra experience from all sources.

Best Leveling Spec 20-120
:
Feral
has received many buffs to its damage in Battle for Azeroth, and it works well for quickly dashing from one mob to another.
:
Beast Mastery
is a really strong solo specialization, with a stronger arsenal of pets available and huge utility both from talents to learned abilities, which leads to an easier leveling experience.
:
Frost
Mages have a lot of control from snares and roots and can easily kite mobs, while having significant burst damage from using the triple damage component of Ice Lance in order to stay healthy.
:
Brewmaster
Monks have a great combination of area damage, slows and self-healing, making them by far the easiest Monk specialization to level with.
:
Shadow
is the only Priest dedicated DPS spec, which gives the edge to it against Discipline and Holy, being able to apply damage-over-time effects on many different enemies and getting healed by that damage is really helpful while leveling.
:
Outlaw
is the easiest specialization to learn, without specific weapons or positioning requirements. It has also an easy time traveling from enemy to enemy with Grappling Hook and great self-healing with Crimson Vial.
:
Enhancement
has more frontload damage and less reliance on periodic effects so you won't waste as much damage from enemy to enemy.
:
Arms
is a straightforward damage dealer who uses a single two-handed weapon to attack, and Victory Rush to sustain themselves from combat to combat.

General Leveling Tips
Experience
There are many ways to gain experience, such as PvP, Battle Pets, Archaeology, Gathering, Dungeons and of course Outdoor Questing. Players will also be able to gain bonus experience through the following ways:
Rested Experience: Log out in a rested area to gain 100% bonus experience from kills depending on how long you were logged out there.
In addition, players can acquire bonus experience multipliers through several events:
10% through Darkmoon Faire -
or riding the Carousel for
. Check out the
Darkmoon Faire Guide
for more information.
10% through Midsummer Fire Festival -
. Check out the
Midsummer Fire Festival Guide
for more information
Although not necessarily an event, players can buy
with Warfront resources. These potions increase your stats by 10 and your experience gains by 10% for 1 hour. You can check our
Service Medal Rewards Guide
for information on how to obtain these potions.
Heirloom Experience Bonus
You can get up to 55% increased experience through heirlooms:
Helm - 10%
Shoulder - 10%
Cloak - 5%
Chest - 10%
Legs - 10%
Ring 1 (
,
or
) - 5%
Ring 2 (
) - 5%
You can find more detailed advice in the
Heirlooms Guide
.
Travel and Flying
At level 20 you can train the ability to ride ground mounts (
). At 40 you can train the ability to ride ground mounts even faster (
).
In Patch 7.3.5, Blizzard removed the extra flying training requirements for Northrend zones. Simply train
at level 60. At level 70, you can further train to increase flying speed to 280%.
costs from a Riding trainer.
One way to same some time traveling are heirlooms that teach you all flight paths in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
Alliance:
,
Horde:
,
Set your Hearthstone location wisely, so you can save travel time returning to quest hubs if they are far away.
If you have a Mage friend, you can have him port you to places with portals to all cities, like
in the Broken Isles, or the
in Pandaria.
You can find more detailed tips in the
Comprehensive Transportation Guide
.
Consumables and Bags
Have extra bag space so you can pick up more items along the way. If you have a Legion tailor,
is a cheap bag to craft and mail over. Check out the
Big Bag Guide
if you need help finding some bags.
Food and drink are useful to increase your health and mana while out of combat. Instead of waiting for your health to regenerate between fighting mobs, now you can speed the process up.
90-100: Draenor Treasures
Every expansion has had access to treasure chests in some way, shape or form, but Warlords of Draenor was the expansion that improved the most on this concept by making treasures award high amounts of experience. With flight in Draenor, you're able to travel from treasure to treasure, loot them for the experience, and then fly back to the next one mostly unscathed.
This method is only recommended if you are able to fly in Draenor, by obtaining the achievement
on at least one character on your account. If you don't have Draenor flight, check our
Draenor Pathfinder Guide
!
These treasures often have rewards like level-appropriate gear, and sometimes toys, battle pets, and even tokens that will add some rested experience to your bar! They become extra profitable if you purchase a
from your Garrison vendors, or get your hands on a ultra-rare
, allowing you to fly through levels 90 to 100 in a very quick manner.

100-110: Legion Assaults
Assaults are a type of content that happens roughly every 18 hours in the Legion zones - Azsuna, Val'sharah, Highmountain and Stormheim. What makes Assaults so good for leveling is that you're able to complete Legion-related World Quests, and each quest gives a substantial amount of experience.
Assaults give you roughly 80% of a level for very minimal effort. When an Assault is available, all you have to do is head to the zone being assaulted and complete the World Quests there!
You can find more information about Assaults in our
Legion Assault Guide
.

If you have the Defending Champion heirloom item you gain an additional 50% experience from battlegrounds. I get nearly a level per win on lower level characters and about 2/3 of a level on higher level characters.

I guess the "travel" section was copy-pasted from some old guide considering that Dalaran and Shrine portals no longer exists and First Aid was merged into tailoring.

I started on Bloodmyst Isle and leveled there up to 35 (using a full set of heirloooms). The quest density and XP gains here are excellent (same as Ghostlands for Horde).

Kul tirans on here look way better than in game.
In game they look fat with a giant belly.
On here they just look thick. Someone at Blizz grabbed the fat slider and slipped all the way.
