Magni Bronzebeard is elder of the Bronzebeard brothers, former king of the dwarven kingdom of Khaz Modan, thane of Ironforge and head of the Bronzebeard clan. After being turned to diamond due to an old ritual in Ironforge and reanimated, he returns as The Speaker, the ritual attuning him to the world-soul of Azeroth.
Before World of Warcraft
Magni Bronzebeard is the eldest of the three Bronzebeard brothers, and thus, destined to be king of the mountain. Magni loved his brothers, Muradin and Brann, more than anything else in Azeroth. Magni was aware of his destiny from a very young age, and thus, made him question whether he could be a good king for Ironforge, to the point he hoped his brothers would outlive him so Ironforge could have a deserving king.
Magni married the dwarf Eimear and had a daughter with her, Moira. Eimear was killed during Moira's infancy by a raid of Frostmane trolls, and wished for Magni to always be there for Moira. Respecting Eimear's wish, Magni began training Moira as a warrior to prepare her for all situations. The harsh trained drew a rift between Magni and Moira, as Moira was being trained to be something she was not.
The Second War
Magni led the forces of Ironforge during the Siege of Ironforge in the Second War. Once Ironforge was liberated by the forces of the Alliance, Magni pledged his support to the Alliance. After the Second War is over, the rebuilding of Stormwind began, and after it was obvious that transport between Ironforge and Stormwind would be difficult, Magni asked for the aid of the High Tinker of the Gnomes, Gelbin Mekkatroque, to build a transportation line between Ironforge and Stormwind, and thus the Deeprun Tram was born.
From the old World of Warcraft transportation guide:
In the aftermath of the Second War, the humans of Stormwind began the grueling task of rebuilding the war-torn lands surrounding their battered kingdom. In those days, the bonds of brotherhood that cradled the Alliance were still at their strongest, and the dwarves of Ironforge were quick to lend aid to their human allies. King Magni Bronzebeard was frustrated, however, at the sluggish pace with which his country's aid was being delivered to Stormwind, and eager as well to establish a means of reinforcing the human kingdom with dwarven soldiers should the need arise. To address these two concerns, King Bronzebeard turned to Azeroth's most esteemed engineer, High Tinker Mekkatorque, who immediately began drafting designs for a grand subterranean railway system that would link Stormwind and Ironforge. Today, his vision has become reality, and the newly-built Deeprun Tram has developed into an indispensable link between the two great capitals, providing swift and safe transportation for thousands of their citizens, and bolstering military cooperation between the armies of these two proud Alliance strongholds.
Magni is also one of the founders of the Explorer's Guild, a group devoted to exploring the world in search of ancient artifacts and to solve the dwarves' existence.
The Third War
During the third war, Magni's middle brother, Muradin Bronzebeard, was believed to be killed during the Northrend campaign, and Magni discovered that Arthas Menethil was responsible for his apparent death. Sometime after, Highlord Alexandros Mograine and High Inquisitor Fairbanks visited Magni wielding a crystal made of pure light, and asked the dwarf to forge a weapon from the crystal that would oppose the Lich King.
Magni personally believed that master dwarven blacksmiths had the ability to impart emotions onto their creations. Thinking about how he would never see Muradin again, he worked with the crystal for three days straight and harnessed all his rage and desire for vengeance against Arthas, and gave Mograine the finest blade he ever crafted, Ashbringer. While delivering the weapon to Mograine, Magni also informed them that he hoped the weapon was not crafted too late, as he had received the new that Arthas had murdered his father, King Terenas Menethil II.

From the comic Ashbringer: Issue #1 - Death is Contagious
Magni fought together with the Pandaren monk Chen Stormstout sometime during the Third War. The Pandaren left a lasting impression on Magni, saying that both he and his relatives were welcome to Ironforge anytime.
Li Li Stormstout, Chen's nephew, visits the Brewfest and meets King Magni Bronzebeard, being warmly greeted by the dwarf.

World of Warcraft
During World of Warcraft: Classic, King Magni Bronzebeard can be located at the High Seat of Ironforge. After the gnomes lost Gnomeregan to the trogg invasion and subsequent poisoning of the city, Magni granted them sanctuary within Ironforge, awarding them with a part of the city, Tinker Town.
The Heir of Ironforge
When Magni's daughter, Moira, went missing, Magni sent Alliance adventurers to find her escort,
卡兰·巨锤
, in the Blackrock Depths. When it was discovered that Moira had been captured by the Dark Iron Dwarves, he asks for the adventurers to rescue her from the claws of the Dark Iron emperor Dagran Thaurissan. However, Moira refused to return to Ironforge, claiming she fell in love with Thaurissan and they even had a child together, this child being the heir of both the Shadowforge and Ironforge thrones. Magni was shocked by the revelation, thinking that Thaurissan won against him even after death.
From
The Shattering, Prelude to Cataclysm
:
Magni had only one child, a daughter, Moira. A few years ago, servants of the Dark Iron emperor, Dagran Thaurissan, had spirited Moira away. Magni believed that Dagran had seduced his daughter through magical means, enchanting her so that she thought she was in love with him. When Magni sent in a team to kill Thaurissan and retrieve the ensorcelled Moira, she had refused to come home. She had announced that she was pregnant, and that the murder of her husband had created a terrible, fiery rage within her heart. Magni had been devastated. Nothing had been heard of Moira or her child—heir to two kingdoms—since.
Becoming a grandfather should have been an occasion for rejoicing. Magni should have had his daughter with him here in Ironforge, his grandchild—Anduin didn’t even know if it was a boy or a girl, and he was not about to ask if Magni knew—playing on his knee. Instead, child and grandchild were estranged from him, still caught in the throes of what Magni firmly believed was the emperor’s dark spell even from beyond the grave.
Wrath of the Lich King
Magni was instrumental in the Northrend campaign, but it was motivated by more than triumphing against the Lich King: Magni wanted answers as to what happened to Muradin.
The Bronzebeard Reunion
During the Alliance campaign in the Storm Peaks, the Alliance is helped by a clan of frost dwarves, the Frostborn. The Frostborn were led by a mountain dwarf named Yorg Stormheart, found by the Frostborn during an expedition to Dragonblight. Yorg's past was unknown to the Frostborn, but he raised to the position of legend within the Frostborn after defending the caravan that saved him against a gigantic jormungar.
Yorg Stormheart is, in fact, Muradin Bronzebeard, who was actually left for dead after Arthas claimed Frostmourne, and lost his memories. When Brann arrives into Frosthold, he immediately recognizes Yorg as Muradin, and helps him regain his memories. Magni, being told by a seer from Wintergarde Keep that Muradin was in fact not dead, came to Northrend as soon as he could, meeting Muradin again not long after Brann (
铜须兄弟
).
Brann Bronzebeard says: We're coming up on Frosthold. I would be very appreciative if you would introduce me to King Stormheart before you go. I believe we are both very much in his debt.
---
Brann Bronzebeard says: By all the gods... it can't be... Muradin?!
Yorg Stormeheart says: What's that? You talkin' to me, lad?
Brann Bronzebeard says: Come on boy, there's no mistak'n it - it's definitely you. Don't ya recognize your younger brother?!
Yorg Stormeheart says: My brother... yes... I do have brothers...
Muradin clutches his head and reels for a moment as the memories rush back to him.
Yorg Stormeheart says: ...Brann?
Brann Bronzebeard says: I can't believe this! You were dead! All accounts said so... what happened, Muradin. How did you get here?
Yorg Stormeheart says: I... I dun know, Brann. I've been 'ere a long time... all I 'ave of me life before this place are flashes and nightmares.
Yorg Stormeheart says: It's good te see you though, brother. More than words can say.
Brann Bronzebeard says: Indeed! Magni will be so happy to see you too! He's gotten nothing but bad news for a long while now, but this changes everything!
Brann Bronzebeard says: He's here in Northrend brother, looking for you. A seer in Wintergarde brought word that you were not dead, and he left Ironforge immediately to come find you.
Magni Bronzebeard yells: Look Lagnus, I consider you a capable man, but my patience is wearing thin. I know that Muradin is here, can you point me to him or not?!
Brann Bronzebeard says: Speaking of which...
Magni Bronzebeard yells: Brother! There you are! I can barely believe my eyes... you're alive!
Yorg Stormeheart says: Magni! Forgive me, the memories are comin' back slowly, brother.
Magni Bronzebeard says: It's so good to see you again, Muradin. And what's this I heard about you being a King in your own right now? The Bronzebeards were always destined to greatness.
Yorg Stormeheart says: The frostborn have been very good to me. They're strong people.
Magni Bronzebeard says: So it seems! And you haven't lost any muscle yourself. Do you remember anything of what happened, Muradin? Fate as turned ill in your absence.
Yorg Stormeheart says: Not much, Magni. I've had nightmares of a human... tall... light hair... death black armor. His name rests on the tip of me tongue, but...
Yorg Stormeheart says: ...Arthas.
Magni nods.
Magni Bronzebeard says: He's not the boy of your memories anymore, Muradin. He's become something else entirely.
Yorg Stormeheart says: Aye, I know. I watched him turn... I watched him give up all that was right and I didn't lift a hand... I didn't even consider it until it was too late.
Brann Bronzebeard says: That's in the past, Muradin. Regrets won't change anything.
Yorg Stormeheart says: No... no they won't. But I can make this right... I have te. I'm goin' after the boy. I'll make'm answer for everything he's done.
Magni Bronzebeard says: Are you sure Muradin? I just got you back after years of thinking you were dead. I do not want to lose you again.
Yorg Stormeheart says: I'm sure, Magni. I'll see this through, don't ya worry.
Magni Bronzebeard says: So be it then. I have to return to my people, brothers. Come back to me in one piece.
Brann Bronzebeard says: Aye, be safe Muradin. I'd join you, but I'm on top of the most amazing discovery the world has yet seen. I can't abandon it now.
Yorg Stormeheart says: Go Brann. Bring me back an epic tale when we meet again. Farewell for now, brothers.
Magni Bronzebeard says: ...farewell brother.
Cataclysm
Magni's destiny would change forever during the events of the Cataclysm.
The Earthen Ritual
The natural disasters that happened during the Cataclysm hit the lands of Khaz Modan hard, reducing many settlements to rubble and even destroying the Stonewrought Dam in Loch Modan, draining the lake that named the zone. In the search for answers to what is troubling the earth, Magni went through a mystic Titan ritual, aided by tablets unearthed during Brann's expedition to Ulduar (
地之石板
). With Anduin Wrynn (who was under Magni's patronage), High Priest Rohan, Advisor Bergrum, Muninn Magellas and Reyna Stonebranch's assistance, Magni underwent the earthen ritual, and it worked a bit too literally - turning Magni into diamond and immobilizing him.
From
The Shattering, Prelude to Cataclysm
:
“Wi’ a finger’s pinch o’ the soil that nourished them, consume the draft. Speak these words wi’ true intent, an’ the mountain shall reply. And so it shall be that ye shall become as ye once were. Ye shall return home, and ye shall become one with the mountain.”
Reyna now stepped forward, handing the muddy-looking elixir to Magni. Unhesitatingly the dwarven king took the transparent, slender vial, brought it to his lips, and drank it down. He wiped his lips and handed it back to Reyna.
Magellas now handed him a scroll. With a bit more hesitation than Belgrum had displayed, Magni read aloud in the ancient language while Magellas translated.
“Within me is th’ earth itself. We are one. I am o’ it and it o’ me. I listen fer th’ mountain’s reply.”
Magni handed back the scroll, then spread his hands imploringly. He closed his eyes and furrowed his brow in concentration.
No one knew what to expect. Would the mountain suddenly begin to talk? If so, what would its voice be like? Would it speak only to Magni, and what would he hear? Could he speak to it? Would—
Magni’s eyes flew open. They were wide with wonder, and his mouth curved in a soft smile. “I … I can hear …” He lifted his hands to his temples. “Th’ voices are in me head. Lots o’em.” He chuckled softly, his expression one of stunned joy and triumph. “It’s not just one voice. It’s … dozens, maybe hundreds. All the voices o’ the earth!”
Anduin shivered, his own lips curving in a smile. Magni had been right! He could hear the earth itself—themselves? It was so confusing!—speaking to him.
“Can ye understand them?” asked Belgrum excitedly. “What are they saying?”
Magni suddenly threw his head back, arching. He seemed to try to stagger backward, but his feet were held as if rooted in place. No, not rooted … Anduin realized his black boots were turning almost translucent, as if they were suddenly made of glass—as if his feet themselves were suddenly made of glass—or crystal … or diamond …
One with the mountain …
No, oh, no, it couldn’t be—
Suddenly Magni’s foot quivered and a bulge of clear stone formed atop it. Like a living ooze of rock, it began moving upward, along his legs, his torso. It spiked here and there with a sudden groaning sound, forming long crystal spears, as if Magni Bronzebeard was a crystal forming crystals of his own. Magni opened his mouth in a long, wordless cry and lifted his arms high over his head. Diamond ooze scurried to wrap around his hands, shooting out to encircle his body. Magni screamed, a gut-wrenching cry of pure horror. But the merciless clear liquid stone poured into his mouth, silencing him in midscream, hardening so quickly he didn’t even have time to close his eyes.
Everyone had been staring, open-mouthed, but now was galvanized into action by the sound, echoing in the diamond cavern, bone-chilling, like no cry of pain or horror they had ever heard.
Rohan began to cast healing spells. Magellas and Belgrum moved forward, seizing Magni’s arms, trying foolishly to somehow pull him away from where he stood. But it had all happened too fast, and now it was too late. The echoes of his single shout died away. Magni looked like he had been both turned to stone and encased in it, his head thrown back, his arms spread, the tendons in his neck standing out in pain. And over him, like some bizarre costume, were ragged, gleaming chunks of jagged crystal.
Anduin broke the shocked silence. “Is he … can you …”
Rohan stepped close to Magni, placing a hand on his king’s arm and closing his eyes. A single tear leaked beneath the closed lids as he stepped away, shaking his head.
Anduin stared. Disbelief rushed through him, the same disbelief he had experienced after the land trembled and buried Aerin beneath the crushing weight of tons of rock. But … this wasn’t possible!
He dragged his gaze to Magellas, who stared as aghast as he.
“I was certain,” he murmured, “that it was not literal … we checked every source. …”
“You mean—it worked? This is what the ritual was supposed to do?” Anduin cried, his voice treble with his shock and horror.
“Not literally,” Magellas said, looking like a panicked hare. “But we—we d-did perform it precisely correctly. …”
Unable to help himself, Anduin sprang forward. With a cry, he took the hilt of his ceremonial dagger, and before anyone could stop him, had struck the figure on the shoulder. The hilt shattered beneath the impact, part of it whirling erratically away. The impact jarred his hand, and he dropped the part of the hilt he still held. Clutching his stinging hand, he stared.
There was not a single mark on the image. Magni had been turned into one of the hardest known materials in the world.
As Anduin stared at the diamond lump that had once been a vibrant, hale dwarf, some of the words of the ritual floated back to him. For behold, we are earthen, of the land … For who would not wish to return home? … And so it shall be that you shall become as you once were. You shall return home, and you shall become one with the mountain.
The dwarves were descendents of the titans. Magni had become what he had once been—and paid for it with his life. “He’s gone home,” Anduin whispered past a throat tight with grief. Tears welled in his eyes and blurred the image of Magni Bronzebeard. As the torchlight glinted off the statue, Anduin saw only beautiful, fractured lights dancing before his gaze.
He blinked hard, gulping, tears trickling down his face for the kindly dwarf who had only wanted to do what was best for his people, who had wanted to talk to a wounded world in order to help it heal. And for that goal, he had been lost to them.
What were the dwarves going to do now?
A service funeral was held for Magni not long after the ritual took place, with the leaders of the Alliance and even some Horde representatives, as a token of Thrall's respect. After the funeral, Magni's daughter, now naming herself Moira Thaurissan, returned to Ironforge to claim her throne, holding Ironforge hostage with the help of the Dark Iron Dwarves.
King Varian Wrynn, in an effort to not cause further political turmoil within Ironforge, persuaded Moira and the dwarves into creating the Council of the Three Hammers, a council of the three most important Dwarven clans, who would have equal lead into the throne of Ironforge. Moira was appointed as the Dark Iron representative, Falstad Wildhammer was pointed as the Wildhammer representative, and Muradin was pointed out as the Bronzebeard representative.
From
The Shattering, Prelude to Cataclysm
:
I do want to do what’s right—what’s just, Varian thought wildly. But how do I create something that lasts? She is the rightful heir, and, yes, the dwarves might turn on one another. It’s not my place to do this. This is their city, their queen or their pretender. If we could only find Brann or Muradin, we—
He blinked.
“Much as I wish it weren’t true,” he said harshly to Moira, who stared up at him with wide, terrified eyes, “yours is the rightful claim to the throne. But just like me, Moira Bronzebeard, you need to be better than you are. You need more than just a bloodline to rule your people well. You’re going to have to earn it.”
He shoved her away. She staggered back but made no attempt to flee. How could she? She was encircled by the populace of the city she had tried to rule with a cruel, arrogant hand.
“You obviously can’t be trusted to have free rein over Ironforge. Not by yourself, not yet. You’ve made that amply clear. These people aren’t just the Dark Iron dwarves you’re used to lording over. The dwarves have three clans. Dark Iron, Bronzebeard, and Wildhammer. You want to bring the dwarven people together? Fine. Then each of those clans needs a representative. A voice, which, by the Light, you will listen to!” He was working it through as he spoke. The Wildhammers, it was true, had demonstrated little interest in Ironforge and had their own holdings elsewhere. They were their own nation; Moira would not be their queen.
But this was about more than her title. It was about the dwarves as a people. It was about preventing, as Anduin had said, civil war. It felt right—right enough to be given a chance to see if it worked. In the end, the dwarves themselves would decide that.
Moira said nothing, only looked around with wide, fearful eyes. She looked like nothing more than a scared little girl, standing there in her nightgown. … “Three clans, three leaders. Three … hammers,” Varian said. “You for the Dark Irons, whom you married into, Falstad for the Wildhammers, and Muradin or Brann or whoever we can find for the Bronzebeards. You will listen to their needs. You will work with them for the betterment of the dwarven people, not your own selfish ends. Do you understand me?”
Moira nodded … carefully.
“We’ll be watching you. Very. Closely. Instead of bleeding your life out here on the floor of the High Seat, you’ve got a second chance to prove that you’re ready to lead the dwarves.” He leaned over her. “Don’t disappoint them.”
Legion
Magni remained as an immobile statue until shortly before the Legion expansion. But he raised not as the High Thane of Ironforge... he was raised as something more.
Rise of The Speaker
Magni was rendered immobile for four years. One day, Moira was asked by Muradin and some Ironforge priests to head to Old Ironforge, where Magni's statue was kept, and attempt to talk to him, hoping that Moira would be enough to wake Magni up. Moira believed this was a waste of time, as even if Magni did wake up, he would still not approve of her ruling. However, she still followed Muradin's request, and to the immense surprise of Moira and Advisor Belgrum, who accompanied the Queen-Regent to Old Ironforge, Magni awoke as a living statue of diamond.

Legion Issue #1 - Magni: Fault Lines
Magni's voice was now different, roaring like a mountainslide whenever he spoke. He announced that he was now part of the earth itself, and he was a speaker for Azeroth herself. While the Council of the Three Hammers discussed the future of Ironforge with Magni's return, Magni went for a stroll to see Ironforge once more. When Magni returned to the council, he said that he was no longer the High Thane of Ironforge, but a servant for something much greater, and he had returned because Azeroth herself said it was time. He was there to warn the dwarves, the Alliance, and whoever else he could about the incoming Burning Legion invasion.
Magni renounces the throne of Ironforge and warns the Council about the Legion invasion.

Legion Issue #1 - Magni: Fault Lines
Before Magni leaves Ironforge to continue on his mission, he talks alone with Moira. He tells her that over all this time he was petrified, he watched over Moira, watching her rise as the Queen-Regent of the Dark Iron Dwarves, and then to the Council of the Three Hammers, and he could not have been prouder of her journey. Magni admitted that he had failed Moira as a father, and while he was not asking for forgiveness, he told her to think about the possibility of them reuniting as a family once his mission is over.
Magni reassures Moira that he is proud of her, and he failed her as a father.

Legion Issue #1 - Magni: Fault Lines
The Pillars of Creation
Magni journeyed to Ulduar with Archmage Khadgar and Brann, where he revealed the truth about his mission: Azeroth, the planet, was in fact the world-soul of a titan, and she named Magni to be her speaker. Magni then told some of Azeroth's story to Brann and Khadgar: When Azeroth was young, after the Old Gods were imprisoned, the Keepers used ancient relics created by the Titan pantheon, called the Pillars of Creation, to shape Azeroth.
These relics are believed to have fallen into mortal hands, and are required to close the Legion portal by the Tomb of Sargeras. Knowledge of the location of these pillars has been entrusted to the Guardian of Tirisfal, prompting Khadgar to search Medivh's tower, Karazhan, to go there and search for them.
Brann and Magni talk for a bit after Khadgar's departure, where Magni reveals that Azeroth has other duties for her speaker (
钻石之王
).
Magni Bronzebeard says: After defeatin' the Old Gods, the keepers were giv'n the task o' orderin' the world. The titans gave 'em five mighty artifacts... the Pillars o' Creation!
Magni Bronzebeard says: When their work was done, the keepers sealed the Pillars away. But like so many relics, they ended up in the hands o' mortals.
Archmage Khadgar says: Your tale sounds familiar... I'm sure I've heard of these Pillars before.
Magni Bronzebeard says: Aye, Khadgar. The knowledge was placed in the care o' the Guardian of Tirisfal, and remains there still!
Archmage Khadgar says: Karazhan! Of course. I likely read of these artifacts in one of Medivh's ancient chronicles.
Magni Bronzebeard says: Ye must find the Pillars! Combined, their power kin seal the Legion's gateway to Azeroth. 'Tis the only way to save her!
Archmage Khadgar says: It is not every day a planet points me to my own library. Thank you, Magni. I will go to Karazhan at once. <Name>, follow me through the portal when you're done here.
---
Brann Bronzebeard says: And what of ye, brother? Will ye go back ta Ironforge?
Magni Bronzebeard says: Nay, Brann. She has... other duties for me. But I'd be obliged if ye'd stay fer a chat.
Brann Bronzebeard says: I'd like that, brother! But I think me friend here has some work ta do.
Magni Bronzebeard says: I reckon so. Take care, <name>. We'll see one another again.
Legionfall
During one of Azeroth's communications with Magni, he sensed a force was attempted to interfere with said communication. Magni asked for adventurers to help him seek exactly what is wrong with Azeroth, and revealed the existence of the Hall of Communion, a place where Magni can hear Azeroth's pleas, clear as diamond. Magni discovered in the Hall of Communion that Azeroth was afraid of something. After fighting against manifestations of Azeroth's nightmares, Azeroth reveals to Magni that the Dark Titan, Sargeras, is on its way to Azeroth, and their destiny was to be found in Argus, the homeworld of the Legion (
惊恐世界的低语
).
Magni Bronzebeard says: Talk ta me, lass. Tell me what's got ye all in a tizzy...
Magni Bronzebeard says: Her feelin's are a jumble. I need ta focus, let her thoughts flow into--UNNGG!
Magni Bronzebeard says: Sands... soaked in pain. Rivers... rivers of blood.
Magni Bronzebeard says: Skies aflame. A sword... in the darkness... the wound... burning...
Magni Bronzebeard says: Sar...ger...as...
Magni Bronzebeard says: The Dark Titan comes! We gotta stop him! Argus... the Legion's homeworld. She says our destiny lies there.
Magni Bronzebeard says: Looks like we've got some preparin' ta do, champion! Ye best tell Khadgar what we've learned. Good luck!
Shadows of Argus
Magni was part of the team that departed to Argus aboard the Vindicaar, the new dimensional ship created by the Draenei. After landing in the legion of Krokuun, Magni revealed he was able to hear a voice similar, but not quite close to that of Azeroth there. This voice convinced Magni that Argus also had a world-soul, much like Azeroth, and this world-soul was also trying to reach to him. Compared to Azeroth's voice, which Magni classified as a song, even while unclear, Argus' voice was broken and distorted, which its pain overwhelming those who can listen to it.
The Krokul, broken draenei that managed to survive in Krokuun, had a relic in their hovel which they claimed it was whispering to them. When Magni touched the relic, he was overcome with a vision of Aggramar, the titan Sargeras had previously killed. Sargeras had raised the titan to serve him once more (
折磨的幻象
).
Later during the mission in Argus, Magni heard the world-soul call to him once more, with distortion so sad it broke the dwarf's heart (
代言人的倾听
). When Magni communed with the Krokul relic once more, he received another vision from Argus - Sargeras was attempting to raise all the Titan Pantheon to fight for him. One of them was eluding them, though - Eonar, the Lifebinder (
恐惧幻象
).
During the preparations from the Army of the Light to assault Antorus, the Burning Throne, Magni was reached out by a new voice, this time from Eonar herself. Eonar called for Magni's aid, claiming that if she was found by Sargeras before the Army of the Light, all hope would be lost (
另一位的幻象
).
Magni was present during the assault on Antorus, the Burning Throne. He teleported adventurers to the Seat of the Pantheon, after Aggramar's defeat.
The Sword in the Sand
The assault on Antorus was a success, with Sargeras being imprisoned in the Seat of the Pantheon and Illidan Stormrage serving as his jailer, but not before the Dark Titan managed to strike Azeroth with his massive sword, mortally wounding the world-soul. Azeroth began bleeding at the wound in Silithus, her blood being a substance called Azerite. After discovering the destructive properties of Azerite, the Alliance and the Horde began fighting over the mineral.
Since Magni's return from Argus, Azeroth's cries have been more and more painful, overwhelming Magni in the process. At the base of Sargeras' sword, Magni begged for Azeroth for advice on how the dwarf could help the world-soul. Azeroth's response was to show Magni a vision of his wife, Eimear, and her last words to him, refering to Moira: "Ye're all she has now. Whatever happens, however hard it gets, just promise ye'll always be there fer her. Help her or else ye'll lose her". With this vision, Magni's mission was clear: he promised Azeroth he would not leave her side.

Battle for Azeroth Issue #2 - Magni: The Speaker
Magni had no idea on how to fix the damage done by Sargeras' sword, but he knew he had to try, or else Azeroth would die and nothing else would matter (

). After realizing the leaders of the Alliance and the Horde likely did not even have any idea what was the substance they were fighting for, Magni sent adventurers to communicate their leaders about what actually is Azerite. For both Horde and Alliance, the answer was the same - Concern was shown, but they had to continue their operations until ordered to stop (

Magni and Khadgar had an idea that could work - Using the powerful artifact weapons adventurers had gathered during their journeys on the Broken Isles, they could attempt to drain the power of Sargeras' sword (

Speculation: The King of Diamonds
During the
伊格诺斯
in the Emerald Nightmare, the wriggling mass of corruption spews many ominous quotes. Many of those quotes can refer to different characters, but two of those quotes can refer to either Magni or his role as the Speaker:
Il'gynoth says: The king of diamonds has been made a pawn.
Il'gynoth says: At the hour of her third death, she will usher in our coming.
The King of Diamonds would be a very on-the-nose reference to Magni, a former king that underwent a ritual and is now made of diamonds. The fact that the Old Gods are contained within Azeroth could mean that they have successfully corrupted the World-Soul and Magni, as Azeroth's Speaker, could be a pawn to the Old Gods.
The second quote could fit Azeroth, as it is a consensus that the world has gone through two "deaths" already: The first one at the end of the Second War, with the destruction of the Well of Eternity, and the second one with the Cataclysm, with Deathwing rising from his slumber at the elemental realm of Deepholm, changing Azeroth's landscape once more. Now, with Sargeras' sword making the World-Soul literally bleed in Silithus, Magni is doing everything in his power to prevent Azeroth from dying, which would be her third "death".
Battle for Azeroth
In Battle for Azeroth, Magni continues his duties as the Speaker for Azeroth.
The Heart of Azeroth
Magni set up an encampment at the base of Sargeras' sword in Silithus, and was joined by the Cenarion Circle and the Earthen Ring to attempt to heal Azeroth. Together, the combined might of the shaman and druid orders formed the Champions of Azeroth faction.
Magni's Encampment in Silithus, where the Champions of Azeroth gather and try to heal Azeroth.
Even with the combined efforts of Magni and the Champions of Azeroth, however, the world-soul was still bleeding. Azeroth bid Magni to search for heroes to help with the task, offering to help them in return. Magni recruited various adventurers and brought them to the Chamber of Heart at the heart of the world-soul, where Azeroth herself bestowed the adventurer with the
艾泽拉斯之心
, a necklace capable of gathering Azerite without hurting the world-soul. Magni enlisted the adventurers to keep the necklace close to them at all times, while the dwarf searched for further ways to heal the world (
艾泽拉斯之心
).
Sometime later, Magni summoned the adventurers to thank them for their efforts with helping Azeroth, and offered to empower the Heart of Azeroth as a gift of appreciation from both him and Azeroth. During the empowering process, the Chamber of Heart was attacked by Old God forces led by a C'thrax, but the necklace's power was enough to drive them out. Magni is impressed by how powerful the Heart of Azeroth has become, but laments that this is not going to be the last time we would see the Old Gods (
心之秘室
).
Magni Meets MOTHER
Although Magni and the Champions of Azeroth are hard at work, their efforts are not enough to heal Azeroth. Magni then reaches out to adventurers and his brother, Brann, to go on an expedition to the titan facility of Uldir (
兄弟的帮助
). In Uldir, Magni meets the titan construct MOTHER, and asks her for aid on how to heal Azeroth (
固执如铜须
).
Brann: Ha ha! This way!
MOTHER: Greetings! I am the Matron of Tenacity, Herald of Endless Research, Desgination: MOTHER.
Magni: Pleased tae meet ye. I'm Magni...
MOTHER: Visitor identified. Designation: Speaker. Presence of Speaker indicates imminent threat to Azeroth.
Magni: Exactly! We need yer help, MOTHER. Azeroth's dyin', and nothin' we do seems tae heal her.
MOTHER: Error. Uldir facility designed for Old God experimentation and containment. Planetary rehabilitation not within operational parameters.
MOTHER: Recommendation: Relocate MOTHER unit to Chamber of Heart facility.
Brann: Uh, no offense, but if me flyin' machine couldn't carry Magni, I doubt it can haul a titan watcher all the way tae Silithus!
MOTHER: Acknowledged. Waygate activation advised. Destination coordinates encoded within Heart of Azeroth.
Magni: Well, ye heard herm champion! Let's get tae it!
As MOTHER is unable to help while contained within Uldir, she calls for a waygate to be teleported to the Chamber of Heart. The efforts are temporarily stopped by a group of Faceless ones, but they eventually manage to activate the waygate and transport MOTHER out of Uldir (
).
At the Chamber of Heart, MOTHER starts researching but claims she won't have the answers Magni wants for some time. Magni thanks the player by further empowering their Heart of Azeroth necklace, and promises to approach them once more once MOTHER comes up with a solution (
心路单程票
).
Magni Bronzebeard says: Now that we've brought ye here, can ye find a way tae heal Azeroth?
MOTHER says: Acessing Chamber of Heart data archives. Comprehensive analysis will require approximately 77 cycles.
Magni Bronzebeard says: Just fer analysis? How long before we have a plan o'action?
MOTHER says: Calculating now.
Magni Bronzebeard says: Well, at least it's a start. Thank ye, champion. Ye'll be the first tae know when MOTHER finds an answer.
Rise of Azshara
Some time after MOTHER arrives into the Chamber of Heart, she finishes her calculations about the status of Azeroth and gives Magni her diagnosis: Azeroth was spiraling into a terminal state, and the only way to heal Azeroth would be to empower the Heart of Azeroth further by infusing it with the primal essences of the Dragonflights (
知子莫若母
).
Magni then sends adventurers on a journey across many corners of Azeroth, to track the dragonflights and unite them in the Chamber of Heart. Magni eventually unites surviving members of every dragonflight: Spiritwalker Ebonhorn aka Ebyssian for the Black Dragonflight (
友善面容
), Merithria of the Dream for the Green Dragonflight (
保持清醒
), Alexstrasza for the Red Dragonflight (
), Kalecgos for the Blue Dragonflight and Chromie for the Bronze Dragonflight (
我们团结一致
), and use their power to further empower the Heart of Azeroth.
With 8.2.5, Magni focusses on the fight against N’Zoth. In a series of events around a corruption outbreak of Spiritwalker Ebonhorn, Magni seeks out Wrathion, who has been working on a cure against Old Gods corruption. Despite them not meeting in person, Magni receives a magical antidote that in the end cures Ebonhorn’s corruption and stops MOTHER from eradicating him.
Visions of N'Zoth
WARNING: 8.3 STORY SPOILERS! Do not continue on if you don't want to be spoiled!
In Visions of N’Zoth, Magni becomes a key player in the final fight against the old god.
For that, he takes back his hammer
Fearbreaker
that he once gave to Anduin. Together with Wrathion - that he seems to have found after the Ebonhorn incident - he returns to the Chamber of Heart.
To look for further hints towards the whereabouts of N’Zoth, Magni commands
MOTHER to scan all existing titan devices of Azeroth
, and Magni’s suspicion substantiates as they find out that the Forge of Origination in Uldum seems to be inactive.
With the help of the adventurers and Wrathion, Magni manages to thwart N’Zoth’s efforts and
restore the Forge of Origination
. However, it can’t be run on full power, and to do that, he has to distribute power from a titanic device called the Engine of Nalak’sha in Pandaria.
After meeting the
Rajani, a mysterious Mogu clan
, and the long-forgotten
titan keeper Ra-den himself
, Magni reaches the Engine of Nalak’sha within Mogu’shan Palace and frees it from N’Zoth’s corruption.
During this process, Magni solidifies his plan to use the Forge of Origination against N’Zoth. However, during their time in Pandaria the titantic device located in Uldum seemed to stop working yet again. After further investigations
Magni and Wrathion find an anomaly created by N’Zoth
, a vision of the old god, made manifest.
This new kind of menace created by N’Zoth requires special protection to not succumb to it, and Wrathion leads us to Blackwing Descent to eventually aquire the
Shroud of Resolve
.
The corrupted Heart Forge inside the Chamber of Hearts.
Equipped with the cloak that protects Azerothians from corruption we fight and eventually defeat the manifestation, unlocking the
Horrific Visions
solo content. During this, Magni couldn’t hold off N’Zoth from infesting the Heart Forge inside the Chamber of Hearts; but thanks to the Shroud of Resolve, players are able to clean the corruption and thus unlock the Horrific Vision and Shroud of Resolve upgrade systems.
