Grong, the Jungle Lord is a single phase
patchwerk
style encounter which requires the raid to manage the bosses rage bar. If the raid mismanages this rage, the boss will get too angry and the raid will suffer extreme
发怒
damage which will likely wipe them!
This fight is mechanically the same between Alliance and Horde except the boss, its adds and spell names are different. The strategy for the encounter remains the same between the two versions.
Alliance will fight
还魂者格洛恩
in a shadow-themed encounter as the
3rd
boss of the raid.
Horde will fight
格洛恩
in a nature-themed encounter as the
2nd
boss of the raid.
Grong
is the second () / third () boss in Battle of Dazar'alor. After defeating
Grong
, players will head to the
Jadefire Masters
encounter.

Mythic Difficulty
The main difficulty on mythic is the large amount of incoming damage that healers need to cover. The DPS requirement for this encounter is relatively low, so guilds that can five, or even six heal this encounter should do so, as they will have access to a larger amount of healing cooldowns to cover points of high incoming raid damage.
Make sure to interrupt both
猿猴折磨者3000型
adds!
Two
猿猴折磨者3000型
adds spawn in at a time, up from one.
The raid needs to setup two interrupt rotations to ensure that the adds never cast. This needs to consist of two 14s CD interrupts, or four 24s CD interrupts.
The adds should be marked as soon as they spawn so players know which add is receiving which interrupt rotation.
These adds will now spawn in every 2 minutes, instead of every 1 minute.
The
猿猴折磨者核心
now applies a 60 second debuff, rather than a 20 second debuff.
Just like heroic, the raid should still attempt to trigger the
发怒
s each time the boss reaches 50+ rage, as long as the raid doesn't have any
粉碎
stacks.
Although a core can be held on to for a longer period of time, it may still time out before the boss reaches 50 rage after being triggered by the first
猿猴折磨者核心
that dropped.
To counter this, the raid should delay killing the second
猿猴折磨者3000型
and choose to simply keep interrupting it instead with a ranged interrupt rotation.
When the raid then wants to trigger the next
发怒
, they can finish off the second
猿猴折磨者3000型
to gain access to its core.
This also reduces the time the player will hold the
猿猴折磨者核心
, which deals significantly higher damage on mythic difficulty.
All DPS should still ensure that the first
猿猴折磨者3000型
add dies quickly, as you need access to its core to trigger the first
发怒
.
Due to the higher incoming damage from all abilities, ensuring that you trigger tantrums at the correct time is the key to success.
The group needs to ensure that no other incoming damage sources are coming in as they trigger a
发怒
.
The important times you need to avoid triggering a tantrum is just after a
蛮兽连击
, a
原子猎杀飞弹
or a
回旋猛击
has occurred.
Generally speaking, the perfect time to trigger a
发怒
is at the beginning or half-way through a
蛮兽连击
.
If the
发怒
s are consistently triggered just as the boss hits 50 rage, the raid should never have to encounter a "3 slam/75 energy" tantrum.
However, chances are is that towards the end of the encounter the raid may fall slightly behind and have to deal with a higher rage tantrum.
Healing cooldowns must be available at this point to counteract this damage, whilst all members use personal survival cooldowns to counter the huge incoming damage.
To help minimize the overall damage taken by the raid, the ranged players should be spread into several separate camps.
This will help reduce the amount of players hit by the initial explosion of a

These camps don't need to be strictly assigned. Players should just make sure that they are loosely spread amongst several raid markers placed on the ground.
Alternatively, three or four members of the raid can be marked with a raid icon. These players can act as a stack point for other ranged players. This allows for more flexibility, as static raid markers can be heavily disrupted by the fire of a poorly placed

.
Ranged players can spread to minimize splash damage from missiles.
The

debuff applied via
蛮兽猛击
now lasts 2 seconds, down from 2,5.
The cast time of both
蛮兽猛击
and
撕裂噬咬
is now 1.5 seconds, down from 2.
Just like the Heroic change, this forces the tanks to react more quickly when it comes to taunting during the
蛮兽连击
.
