This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the
N’zoth the Corruptor
encounter on Mythic Difficulty in Ny'alotha, the Waking City. This guide assumes you’re familiar with the Heroic version of the encounter, and focuses mainly on Mythic changes in strategy.

Mythic Changes
Besides the addition of the Mythic phase, this encounter has a few changes in each phase which significantly change the strategy requirements from Heroic. The first phase of Heroic, where the entire raid fights

, is completely skipped on Mythic difficulty. Instead, the raid will have to deal with two waves of adds before going into the first
赛古斯
phase.
Across all phases
妄念
will affect every player in the raid, with the exception of tanks. Certain
妄念
timings are also synced with
心灵之握
, introducing another element of difficulty.
During the first phase, any
腐蚀触须
s that are killed will spawn
Psychophage
s which will cast

when reaching a player, and cast

when they die. These adds pose a big issue in phase 1, because they largely limit space.
In the second phase, there are two important changes. Firstly,

will explode and cleave players within 4 yards when the debuff expires. This change will severely restrict the amount of space in the encounter area by forcing the raid to spread out each time this ability is cast. The second change is that each wave of
智慧收割者
s will contain two adds, making it important to have at least 8 - 10 immunity classes in the raid.
Strategy
Before even pulling the boss, there will be a few assignments to set up for Phase 1. For the first
赛古斯
group, your raid should assign 8 players. One healer (preferably Holy Paladin), one tank, one Demon Hunter, and the remaining 5 slots can be any dps. Generally most guilds prefer to send one Mage and one Hunter in this group along with a few Melee dps.
For the second
赛古斯
group you will need 9 people, because this set is more healing intensive. Ideally you should have two healers (your second Holy Paladin, and any other), along with a tank, a Demon Hunter, and 5 ranged players if possible. Bursty classes, such as Mages, Warlocks, and Hunters are ideal in this group.
Add waves while both groups are in the physical realm are always the same. Meaning, that phase one will essentially repeat itself after the first

is complete.
Phase 1 - General
Phase 1 is the most scripted part of this encounter, and the general strategy is similar for both
赛古斯
groups, however this section will contain the information for the two parts of this encounter when both groups are in the physical realm.

s will not be mentioned in this guide, just note that with each wave of adds you will also get

s. Generally your multi-dot classes should take care of them after cleaning up the more important targets.
The encounter will start with a wave of two
痛击触须
s and two

s. Please reference the diagram for all add spawn locations. The first wave of adds should be killed at the same time while dealing with the
妄念
, after which the entire raid should rotate 180 degrees to prepare for the second wave. In this wave, one of the tentacle sets needs to be killed significantly quicker than the other, to allow the first group to enter the
神思之门
at 1:00.
The raid should use Time Warp at 2:10 into the fight, which is the latest you can use it for it to be up in the last phase.
After
赛古斯
dies, the raid will have a 30 second burn phase on N’zoth. All players who were not in the
神思之门
should try to save their cooldowns for this part. Typically there will be a few
Psychophage
s running around, and it is important to cc them away from the raids stack position, which should be directly in front of the
神思之门
location.
Once everyone is stacked, we recommend using 1 or 2 extra action buttons to restore the sanity of the players who will be going down in group 2. Even if a few players remain fairly low sanity, for the group who has already been in the
神思之门
sanity should not be an issue past this point.
We recommend having healers use their necks here, because there is no healing required at this point, making it a safe place to use their extra action button.
After the burn phase is over, the encounter will essentially repeat itself with the same wave of tentacle spawns that you’ve already seen at the beginning of the encounter. The only difference will be that no one will have cooldowns to kill them quickly, so an even split in dps for the first wave, and a heavy focus on one side in the second wave is important to have a clean transition into the second

After

2 dies, the raid should stack up for the second 30 second burn phase which will then transition the boss into Phase 2.
Once all the
Psychophage
s are killed, 3 players should use their extra action button to restore the group's sanity. We recommend having your two tanks, and a healer, or non-mobile dps use their necks here.
Phase 1 - First

Group
The order in which you kill

s is very important, and should be consistent pull to pull. In the diagram below you can see our preferred path. One thing to keep in mind is that this path involves a very large amount of movement, meaning that assigning immobile ranged DPS to this group should be avoided.

1 should die around 2:30 into the fight, while he has 8 stacks of

, after which the group can exit the mind realm and group up for a 30 second burn phase on N’zoth.
After the burn, the encounter will repeat itself. This group should finish cleaning up the wave of adds, before the next set of

spawn.
After this set of tentacles,

s will spawn which need to be killed to clear enough space to deal with the

combo.
After

, a new set of

will spawn while having a lot of

s alive. At this point

2 should be nearly dead, and the group should start converging on the stack location to prepare for Phase 2.
Phase 1 - Second

Group
After the first group enters the
神思之门
, any remaining tentacles should be cleaned up before moving to the first solo wave spawn location . This wave of adds will consist of one

and one
腐蚀触须
, which need to be killed before the

s spawn.
Once

s appear, an area should be cleared out to make space for the

combo.
After the
心灵之握
is over, another wave of Basher +

will spawn, and the group will also have accumulated a large number of
Psychophage
s. With the use of Time Warp at 2:10 all the adds should be killed before

dies, to allow everyone to focus on doing boss damage during

.
After
碎裂自我
, the beginning part of the encounter will repeat itself. First there will be a double set of Basher +
腐蚀触须
, then the raid will rotate 180 degrees, where a second wave will spawn. In this wave, one of the

s needs to be killed quickly to allow the group 2 tank to enter the
神思之门
.
For the second
赛古斯
group the Warlock should have a Demonic Gateway pre-placed from the
神思之门
location towards the first
暴露的突触
. After entering the
神思之门
, the whole raid should take this gate as soon as possible to force
赛古斯
on taking the correct path around the boss.
The general damage taken in this group will be extremely high, making it important to manage
Psychophage
s, and movement correctly to minimize damage taken.
This
赛古斯
should also die shortly after reaching 7 stacks of

, after which the group can exit the realm to start the transition to Phase 2.
Phase 2
Phase two is mostly about correct space management for
激荡痛楚
, while dealing with each set of
智慧收割者
s.
We suggest using the following patterns for dropping
激荡痛楚
. Exact assignments will vary from guild to guild, but generally most mobile classes should go furthest from the boss, while least mobile, tanks, and healers should be closest to the boss when dropping their debuff.
Each set of
智慧收割者
s should be killed before they’re able to cast a second
思绪收割
.
The first set should be kept on top of the raid and everyone should stay stacked to split the Sanity loss and the damage taken. Shortly after the cast is done, the boss will apply
激荡痛楚
to everyone, at which point the raid should move to their assigned drop locations.
After dropping
激荡痛楚
1, there will be a set of Glares that will rotate to the left. For this reason, mobile players should be assigned to dropping their debuffs towards the left side, while immobile players should drop on the right, which will make it possible to run past the Glare if it spawns close to the right side of the drop location.
激荡痛楚
2 should be dropped in a diagonal line to fill in the remaining open place between the first drop and the boss. We recommend also placing a Demonic Gateway for the melee to take, because shortly after this
激荡痛楚
, the boss will cast
妄念
.
Even though there is a lot of space, we still recommend forming up in two rows when dealing with this
心灵之握
, to stay close to the previous
激荡痛楚
puddles.
激荡痛楚
3 will be cast right after the
心灵之握
is over. This is the first straight line drop, and can be dropped in a column that is 3 players wide.
After
激荡痛楚
3, the second set of
智慧收割者
s will spawn. Their
思绪收割
cast should be soaked with 5 immunities. Any classes who are immuning this set need to stay in their immunities until
激荡痛楚
is cast, to prevent it from being applied to those 5 players.
激荡痛楚
4 is arguably the hardest part of this fight, and will most likely cause the most wipes. During the debuffs duration a set of Glare will spawn that rotates to the right. Glare has a few set spawn locations, and there are some that are particularly dangerous.
激荡痛楚
4 should only be dropped in a 2 player wide column to allow everyone to quickly react to Glare. In the most ideal situations, the beam spawns slightly ahead of the group, allowing everyone with
激荡痛楚
to chase it after dropping their debuffs. However, it can spawn slightly to the left of the group, in which case everyone should start moving ahead of the beam because it will start moving as the
激荡痛楚
drops.
After
激荡痛楚
4, the 3rd set of
智慧收割者
s will cast, which should again be covered by 5 immunity classes. While the soak is happening,
妄念
will be applied to the group, making Mages extremely useful, since they can blink to their partner right after their Ice Block is cancelled.
At this point the second
智慧收割者
s should be dead, and the whole raid should rotate as far to the right as possible, because the third set of Glare will rotate to the left (towards the Anguish) while everyone has
妄念
.
After the Glare, the raid should focus most of its damage into the boss, as there is a pretty long grace time before there will be another cast of
思绪收割
.
When the portal to the Mythic phase appears, a Demonic Gateway should be placed from melee towards it, to give everyone more time to burn the boss.
As a rule of thumb, everyone clicks the portal when there are 4 seconds left on the
事件视界
timer.
Mythic Phase
The
Voidspawn Annihilator
should be tanked against the wall where the whole raid appears after clicking the portal.
With each set of
净化协议
players should be assigned to which
Titanic Countermeasure
s they will click. In the sets that contain 4, the furthest
Titanic Countermeasure
from the raid should be left up, as it does fall off damage.
Right before
暗物质
is cast, two unassigned necks should be used to top the raid's sanity.
生灵俱灭
debuffs should be dropped near the raid, but never drop the debuffs on a
Titanic Countermeasure
, because it will instantly detonate it when it times out.
The
Voidspawn Annihilator
should be killed right after it completes the second
暗物质
cast.
After the
Voidspawn Annihilator
is dead, the whole raid should toggle their auto run, then click on the portal. Toggling auto run will allow your character to run all the way to the boss while the small cinematic RP plays.
Second Phase 2
The whole raid will start by being stacked near the boss, to soak the first
思绪收割
cast, after which any remaining necks should be used. This will be followed by
激荡痛楚
1 being cast on the raid, which should be dropped to the left side.
Shortly after
激荡痛楚
1, there will be a Glare that will rotate to the right, but there is enough time to move to a safe location. Ideally you want to rotate towards the right, but don’t go too far, as you might get pushed into the Anguish you dropped at the very beginning on Phase 2.
Right after the Glare,
激荡痛楚
2 will be cast, which should be dropped to the right side, while being careful not to use up too much melee space.
Right out of the
激荡痛楚
,
妄念
will be cast, followed by a
心灵之握
and
激荡痛楚
3. This set should just be dropped away from the boss. We prefer the back right side, as we use the back left for
激荡痛楚
4.
The first set of
智慧收割者
s will spawn here, which should be soaked by the 5 players who were assigned to the first immunity set in Phase 2.
激荡痛楚
4 will go out right after
思绪收割
, so it is important that all players remain in the immunities to prevent it from being applied. This
激荡痛楚
should also just be dropped away from the boss, because it is the last set the raid has to deal with.
Glare 2 will spawn, which will rotate to the left. The space will be somewhat limited by this point, so try to run past these beams to their right if possible.
After the Glare is over, all players should stack in melee, as another set of
智慧收割者
s will spawn. The raid should use its second Time Warp, while the
智慧收割者
s are tanked away from the group and allowed to have their
思绪收割
cast go off without anyone soaking it.
The whole rtaid will be affected by
妄念
at this point, however since everyone's sanity should be drained already, it is only important to stay stacked as to avoid dealing the ticking damage to your partner.
From this point the raid has 20 seconds to get the boss to 2.4% otherwise everyone will be mind controlled and the boss resets. During this burn there will be one last set of Glare which will rotate to the right. We recommend being as close to the left Anguish puddles as possible, and if the beam spawns close to the raid then try to move past it to the left side, which will allow enough room for everyone to move with it. If the beam spawns to the left of the group, and the raid can’t move past it then you should still have enough room to move with it.
A great trick for this set of Glare is to drop a Tremor Totem and use a large raidwide cooldown to just eat the damage of the Glare, because the fear will break instantly due to the totem.
Tips/Tricks
When dealing with the
妄念
+
心灵之握
combo we typically clear a 3
腐化的神经元
wide grid to make it easier for players to position for the
心灵之握
. Warlocks can Banish the
腐化的神经元
s in the middle row, which will make positioning less strict. Even if a player is dragged over a Banished
腐化的神经元
, they will not take damage or lose sanity.
When stacking up for
心灵之握
, everyone will still have the
妄念
debuff. We found it best to form two rows of players, because the distance of
心灵之握
will only take you about 70% of the way in either direction.
An interrupt rotation of at least 3 players should be assigned to each
腐蚀触须
to cover the
堕落心灵
cast. This debuff is dispellable, but the healers are generally pretty strained in this encounter, so removing this mechanic helps them out a lot.
In Phase 2, if your raid doesn’t have 10 immunity classes, there are a few tricks that can be done to still soak the
思绪收割
. If you have a Protection Paladin tank, then Spellwarding can be used as an immunity. If you have a Resto Shaman, a player can die to the
思绪收割
in an Ancestral Protection Totem. Otherwise, players can simply soak it, after which they can die and get battle ressed.
DPS
DPS cooldown usage depends largely on what group you’re assigned to, and what role you play in the encounter. Since only a total of 17 people will be assigned to
赛古斯
realms, there will always be 2 dps and a healer who will always be in the physical realm.
For DPS assigned to
赛古斯
1, 2 minute cooldowns can be used on pull, while 3 minute or longer cooldowns should be held for
赛古斯
. This means players who are assigned to
赛古斯
2 have to generally use cooldowns on the second wave of adds, prior to the
神思之门
.
Players assigned to
赛古斯
2 have a fairly cleared cooldown usage pattern. Every cooldown can be used on pull, or delayed until the second wave, depending on assignments. Second set of cooldowns should be used for the first
碎裂自我
burn. Longer cooldowns, such as Metamorphosis can be delayed for
赛古斯
.
While killing
赛古斯
, the most important part is timing cooldowns properly so they time out just as
赛古斯
dies to maximize their efficiency. As a rule of thumb, short cooldowns, such as Combustion, should be used into
赛古斯
right after he gains 7 stacks. For every 10 seconds of cooldown, remove about 1 tentacle. Meaning, if your cooldown lasts 30 seconds, you would pop it around the 5th stack on the boss.
In Phase 2 of the encounter, cooldowns should be largely prioritized while
智慧收割者
s are alive in the pre-chamber phase. Doing efficient damage to minimize the amount of hard focus required by the
智慧收割者
s is key in maximizing boss damage.
As an example, if you assigned a Mage to
赛古斯
1, they would Combustion during the first set of
智慧收割者
s, while all the other Mages would use it in the short overlap period between set 2 and 3 where they are able to cleave 5 targets with Combustion.
2 minute single target cooldowns should be used in the Chamber phase to deal with the
Voidspawn Annihilator
. Most notable, Rogues, and Hunters should be using their cooldowns during the Chamber. However, any class with a strong cleave cooldown, such as Mages, should save it for the post-chamber N’zoth burn.
After exiting the Chamber, all cooldowns should be used as they come up because the window for getting 2 uses of 2 minute cooldowns is pretty tight. Cooldowns longer than 2 minutes can be delayed and timed with Time Warp towards the end of the encounter.
Healer
This is one of the highest consistent damage taken encounters in the raid. The ticking damage from Infinity’s Toll will require about 270k healing per second through the encounter. The only phase where this damage is missing is the during the Chamber.
In Phase 1,

will add a large amount of burst damage to the raid, which will require throughput cooldowns to stabilize the raid.
永恒折磨
1 & 2 will happen right before
神思之门
, which means that all 20 players will be taking damage from it. We advise using healing cooldowns on Torment 2, which will top the raid before Group 1 enters the
神思之门
. This same timing is repeated before the second
神思之门
, where it is even more important that all players are full health when entering the mind realm.
Damage taken during the second
赛古斯
is extremely high. Especially while the group goes into the mind realm to move to the first
暴露的突触
. We recommend using Commanding Shout right before the group enters the realm, to provide some extra effective health for the peak damage part.
Smaller throughput cooldowns should be used during
妄念
casts, before
心灵之握
. This will just top everyone off, and ensure they don’t die if they get dragged through Anguish.
Once Phase 2 starts,
激荡痛楚
will be the source of burst damage that needs to be covered by either healing cooldowns, or personal cooldowns.
Phase 2 will have 2 parts, pre & post Chamber, each half will have 4
激荡痛楚
es. The first three
激荡痛楚
es are exceptionally dangerous and require heavy throughput and damage reduction. If you have a Discipline Priest, Power Word: Barrier is best utilized on the
思绪收割
cast that the raid soaks as well as the first
激荡痛楚
hit immediately afterwards.
If you have a Restoration Shaman, Spirit-Link Totem is best placed to top up after the second
激荡痛楚
cast. Note, this will be after Glare so there should be a group of people relatively stacked. Also, if you do this, Wind Rush people out of your Spirit-Link Totem so they can get to their drop locations quicker.
Ideally your comp will have Holy Paladins, their Devotion Auras are best used on
激荡痛楚
3 and, if you don't have a Shaman,
激荡痛楚
2 is the second best. The reason for this is that
激荡痛楚
3 is immediately after a
心灵之握
so your raid will be moving, not stacked, and your cohealers won't be able to ramp for it. We also recommend using commanding shout, personal cooldowns, and even healthstones/pots on anguish 3.
In the Chamber, generally you want one healer with the most mana to solo heal the phase and the rest of your healers pump damage into the add. This phase largely serves as a mana/cooldown reset
During the Chamber phase, there should be no ticking damage on the raid. Instead, each
Titanic Countermeasure
explosion will deal a large burst to the raid, then giving healers time to top the players between each set. Since the ticking damage is absent, this phase is generally the lowest damage taken per second part of the encounter.
Restoration Shamans are especially useful on this encounter, because they provide Wind Rush Totem, and Tremor Totem, both of which can be great utility tools to use.
The second phase 2 is just a copy of the first, and the same cooldowns can be utilized.
Tank
This is one of the few encounters in the raid that deal a significant amount of tank damage. Especially on progress, where
痛击触须
s die slower, the tanks will take full Void Lashes. This will be a significant source of damage.
It is advisable to start with a more defensive setup, while the raid gets more comfortable with Phase 1.
One of the biggest challenges in Phase 1 is
Psychophage
management. For the tank who stays in the first physical realm during
赛古斯
1, this will be especially challenging. We recommend having a Brewmaster Monk stay up for this set, because they can utilize Black Ox Statue to keep the
Psychophage
s away from the raid during
心灵之握
casts.
For both tanks during
赛古斯
, it is important to keep
蔓延痛楚
casts in mind, because dropping them on the
暴露的突触
s can prevent the melee from damaging them. If a
蔓延痛楚
coincides with the boss moving to a fresh
暴露的突触
, the tank should keep the boss away from it until the puddle drops, before moving closer to the synapse.
During Phase 2, we found it easier to have both
智慧收割者
s be tanked by the Brewmaster Monk to start with, instead of each being tanked by one of the tanks. This is because
意志摧毁
can be dodged and parried, so a monk can prevent a significant amount of stacks from being applied throughout the encounter.
Death Knight and Warrior tanks can utilize Anti-Magic Shell and Spell Reflect to prevent the application of
激荡痛楚
.
During the Chamber phase, the debuff can also be pre Anti-Magic Shelled. It is important to r the tank to run out when this debuff is applied so it does not get healed off in the raid. There are generally two ways of dealing with it, either the healers should try to heal through the absorb to trigger

when the tank is out, or they should completely ignore it and let the debuff time out on its own.
In the post-Chamber phase, one of the tanks will pick up all the
智慧收割者
s. Keep in mind, they will accrue a high number of
意志摧毁
stacks. These stacks can be reset with Blessing of Protection, but this tank needs to stay alive until the third set of
智慧收割者
s cast their
思绪收割
outside of the raid, which will cause everyone to lose their sanity and gain the damage amp.
