This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the
Ra-den the Despoiled
encounter on Mythic Difficulty in Ny'alotha, the Waking City. This guide assumes you’re familiar with the Heroic version of the encounter, and focuses mainly on Mythic changes in strategy.

Mythic Ra-den Changes
This encounter becomes significantly more challenging on Mythic, because of the addition of the
梦魇强化
mechanic. This forces players to always have to deal with the boss having two empowerments, and dealing with two simultaneous adds.
Strategy & Assignments
Before pulling the boss, it is important to set up assignments to cover each of the soak mechanics in the raid.
Assign 5 melee players to deal with Void and Nightmare empowerments depending on the phase.
Assign 5 ranged players, typically Mages and Hunters, to deal with Vita and Nightmare empowerments depending on the phase.
You should have one backup player assigned to each set, in case one of the players ends up being targeted by a different mechanic that makes them unable to complete their assignment.
Since boss position rotates with each set of orbs, check each section for the ideal way of dealing with the mechanics in each set.
Phase 1 - Set 1
The first set of orbs will spawn about 10 seconds into the fight, and we recommend killing the Void Orb.
The raid should be spread out to prevent cleaving each other with Unleashed Nightmare.
In this part you will need to deal with Nightmare and

. The melee assignments will alternate soaking the

, while the ranged will deal with

.

will bounce to the closest person when it times out. The next person in the soak order needs to stand next to the visual indicator to ensure it will bounce to them.

will always bounce to the furthest person from the affected player, and damaging everyone in the path.
The first person targeted by the
不稳定的梦魇
needs to use a personal cooldown, because they take the largest burst of damage.
If the first person to be targeted by
不稳定的生命
also has
不稳定的梦魇
, they need to move to the Vita marker, and the melee group needs to adapt.
Players should be loosely spread while the
龟裂追踪者
is alive, to prevent
闪电链
from bouncin got multiple players.
Phase 1 - Set 2
On the second set of Orbs, we recommend killing the Vita Orb, which causes the boss to become Nightmare and

.
During this set of orbs, the ranged dps take over the
不稳定的梦魇
assignments, while melee deal with Unstable Void.
Players with immunities who are not assigned to either group should stand in melee in case they are targeted by
虚空塌缩
.
Unstable Void should be faced towards the wall on either side of the boss. Having the Unstable Void in the same place each bounce makes it significantly more predictable to soak.
Your raid should only have to deal with two
虚空塌缩
casts. If the add is alive to cast a third, you should focus more damage on it. This is also true in the next set of orbs.
Ideally
虚空塌缩
should only target players with immunities, because they can move out of the raid and solo it. Players without an immunity need to let the healers know that they are targeting, and the raid is about to take a hit of damage (more on this in Tips & Tricks).
Phase 1 - Set 3
If your raid has the necessary damage to skip this set of orbs, you should definitely push the boss to Phase 2 (40%) before any of the orbs hit. Our typical cutoff point for commiting to pushing the boss is if Ra-Den is below ~47-48%. The tanks can kite the boss between the orbs while the dps push him to Phase 2.
On the third set of Orbs, we recommend killing the Nightmare orb, which causes the boss to become Vita and

.
During this set, melee dps will deal with Unstable Void, and ranged will deal with

.
Melee should face towards the edge of the stairs, as shown in the clip, to keep the Unstable Void in the same spot. Ranged should mirror the positioning of the first set to deal with
不稳定的生命
.
Deal with
虚空塌缩
the same way you did on the previous set of orbs.
Phase 2
Phase 2 is the easiest part of this encounter, as it is a simple damage burn with very few mechanics.
The boss should be tanked around the center of the room, slightly towards either wall.
Set up a few gateways to make it easier to break
充能锁链
. Note that only the person who everyone is tethered to needs to take the gate.
The raid should be relatively stacked to make raid healing easier, and allowing more room to dodge Void Eruption.
Players affected by
腐化存续
need to be careful not to reach full health, otherwise they instantly die. The following macro can be quite useful in cancelling the most prominent healing over time effects to prevent reaching full health.
Mythic Ra-den Tips/Tricks
The boss can be kited around the room for a significant amount of time to prevent the orbs from reaching him. Using Monk Provoke will speed up the boss enough that it will outrun the orbs even after their speed increases.
DPS
There are two Phase 1 damage checks your raid could set. You should aim to push the boss sub 40% either before the third or fourth set of orbs. Obviously, pushing before the third set will significantly reduce the difficulty of the encounter, but may not be doable on your first kill. Pushing before the third set typically requires Bloodlust on pull, rather than for the Phase 2 burn.
On the first set of Orbs, all your ranged dps and a Demon Hunter should swap to it to ensure it doesn’t reach the boss.
Warlocks will typically use their cooldowns on the first set of Orbs, which allows the melee dps to stay on the boss. However, for Orb set 2, and 3 everyone in the raid will need to swap to it.
Adds spawn about 1 minute apart, with the first set spawning at 0:30. We recommend using two minute cooldowns that benefit from hitting multiple targets on the first wave of adds, which will allow them to be used again on the third wave, which is a fairly dangerous one.

During the third set of orbs, where the raid should be killing the Nightmare Orb, multiple classes will be channeling Font of Power, making it important to kite the boss on a longer path to allow more time to kill this orb.
Healer
The overall damage taken on this encounter is fairly low, which allows this fight to be 3 healed. The instances with the highest damage taken will be whenever the boss gains a new empowerment from orbs.
Unleashed Vita, and Unleashed Nightmare are large bursts of damage. If you follow the recommended boss positioning, the application will be slightly staggered, giving healers time to use healing cooldowns between hits.

applies a healing absorb to the entire raid, so throughput cooldowns are especially beneficial at healing it.
Other significant sources of damage in Phase 1 will come from

on the melee group. Keep an eye on players targeted by those mechanics, as they might die if they overlap with other instances of damage.
Assign one damage reduction cooldown, such as Power Word: Barrier as a backup, in case
虚空塌缩
targets a non-immunity class during the second set of Orbs.
In Phase 2, the majority of the raid damage will come from Ruin. It is recommended to chain healing cooldowns for the last part of the fight, as the permanent raid damage will be very significant.
Avoid spot healing players affected by
腐化存续
, and remind them to use their cancelaura macro if they are about to reach full health.
When
腐烂打击
is about to be cast, avoid healing the main tank. It seems counter intuitive, however the lower health the tank is at when they are hit, the less the dot will do after it is applied.
Tank
Tanking this encounter revolves entirely around boss positioning, as the only other tank mechanic is
虚化重击
, which should just be swapped on 1 stack.
Follow the boss positioning recommended in the Strategy section of this guide.
Once the boss is at low enough health to be pushed to Phase 2, it is important to know the correct route to kite the boss, which will prevent the orbs from hitting.
In Phase 1, it doesn’t particularly matter which tank picks up adds, as they deal a fairly low amount of damage.
During the second Orb set, the tank without boss aggro should take the first Unstable Void bounce and aim it at the wall on either side of the boss. This will allow the melee dps assigned to it to instead damage the Vita Orb.
During Phase 2, it is important to let your health dip as low as possible before the boss casts

, then immediately using a large cooldown.
Taunt swaps should happen after each cast of
腐烂打击
.
The boss should be tanked near the center of the room, within close range of a gateway for melee to use when targeted by

In the guide, you mention macro but nothing is provided. Have you forgotten to put them?

Also what about the nightmare orb? Yes it's nice to provide how to position the raid for the different combinations, but how do the new abilities work? A more detailed explanation would be nice, especially one that's not all over the place.
And what about the other add? Low priority, I get that, but what does it do? Does it even need to be tanked? Does it cleave? Some sort of small burst ability? Or just melee attack?
Also the new Phase 2 mechanic is just done in one sentence, like it's a non-issue. Maybe it would be good for those players to leave the healing circle? I mean the ability isn't even mentioned for the DPS at all.
All in all this guide is a nice thought, but not really that enlightening.

I would appreciate it if Wowhead or those well past progression could suggest the raidbots sim settings for each mythic boss. Primarily, the Fightstyle option (Light movement, Hectic Add Cleave, Cleave Add, etc). Especially with corruption, the results vary so much.
