This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the
Vexiona
encounter on Mythic Difficulty in Ny'alotha, the Waking City. This guide assumes you’re familiar with the Heroic version of the encounter, and focuses mainly on Mythic changes in strategy.

Mythic Vexiona Changes
This encounter has two main changes on Mythic difficulty. Firstly, any stacks of
虚空腐蚀
are permanent on this encounter, so players need to be much more careful at avoiding
暗影残渣
. The second change is the introduction of the
Iron-Willed Enforcer
s. These adds will cast
蛮力重击
, which is a small aoe ability that deals large amounts of physical damage, and stuns anyone hit.
Iron-Willed Enforcer
s will also periodically grip the two furthest targets to them, which can be dangerous while dropping
渗透暗影
.
Phase 1 Mythic Strategy
The phase 1 positioning will start near the east wall, and gradually progress towards the western side.
During Phase 1, the ranged players should be loosely spread about 20 yards from the boss, who should be tanked about 30 - 40 yards from the East wall of the room. This positioning will progress further and further west after each Intermission because an increasing portion of the room will be filled with
暗影残渣
.
Players affected by
渗透暗影
should drop their debuffs near the wall, while being careful not to be the furthest target from
Iron-Willed Enforcer
s (if there are any alive). We typically have a few mobile ranged players, such as Mages and Hunters, who stand further out to bait the grip.
Each set of
渗透暗影
should be dropped near the previous set, to maximize the amount of room there is left towards the end of the fight.
The portals in this phase spawn in random location, so players need to be careful to avoid being in the path of the
虚空晋升者
and the new adds, because the Annihilation beam will kill all non-tank classes very quickly.
During the first Phase 1, the boss will summon two sets of adds, then transition to the intermission. The
虚空晋升者
should be kept alive for at least one Annihilation cast on the second set, after which it can be killed.
During the second Phase 1, your raid will need to deal with three sets of add waves. The first and second set should be mostly killed by the
虚空晋升者
’s Annihilation, however the third set will spawn right before an intermission and will require a fairly significant amount of damage to kill.
The second wave of adds in this phase will contain three
不祥的刻魂者
s, which can easily combo people if not interrupted correctly. If your raid has a Blood DK, we recommend having most players fairly close to the boss, and right after the
不祥的刻魂者
s teleport to start casting
怨毒突袭
, use Mass Grip and an AoE stun to interrupt them and keep them within the
毁灭
cast.
The third Phase 1 lasts a very short time, an your raid should be aiming to push the boss to 40% before getting a second portal cast.
Intermission Mythic Strategy
During the first intermission, all players should start by being in the bottom lane (as shown in the graphic below). After Vexiona commits to this lane, all players should move to the top lane. After Vexiona commits, move back to the bottom lane for one last bait, then move to the middle and wait for the boss to land.
In the first intermission, the new
虚空晋升者
should only be damaged to about 60 - 70% health, otherwise it will not be alive long enough to
毁灭
the second wave of adds in the second Phase 1.
Right before the second intermission, a new void portal will appear. The position of this portal determines where the first bait will be. If the portal spawns in the top lane, all players should move there for the first bait, then mirror the movement of the first intermission.
The
虚空晋升者
in the second phase can be damaged to 30 - 40% health, because it will only need to be alive for one set of adds in the third Phase 1.
Phase 2 Mythic Strategy
During Phase 2, stand close to the boundaries of lanes to make dodging the breath easier.
Phase 2 is a typical burn phase, as you should be racing to kill Vexiona before the third cast of
荒芜
.
During this phase, your ranged players should be positioned in the bottom lane, near the border of the bottom/middle line, to make it easier to move if
暮光屠戮
is cast on them.
Melee players will follow a similar position on the top/middle lane border, as shown in the graphic below.
If
Shadow of Vexiona
casts
暮光屠戮
on a lane where players are standing, simply move to the nearest lane. Melee and tanks should alternate between middle and top, while ranged players should alternate between bottom and middle.
If you’re using our three tank strategy, we suggest having your two off tanks and a Demon Hunter to soak the
荒芜
stacks. These classes are naturally tanky and are able to survive until the second cast of
荒芜
is cast, after which they will most likely die to the passive ticking damage. If your raid makes it to a third cast of
荒芜
, assign three players to soak it who are still alive, as the boss should be dead shortly after.
It is recommended to have a ranged player call out which lane the
Shadow of Vexiona
will breath on, because it can be difficult to see from a melee perspective.
]Ranged players should be loosely stacked, to avoid being affected by
恐怖降临
, but not close enough together to splash too many stacks of
虚空腐蚀
during
黑暗之心
.
Mythic Vexiona Tips/Tricks
Certain classes with magical immunities can drop
渗透暗影
on previous
暗影残渣
puddles without gaining stacks of
虚空腐蚀
.
Death Knights can use Death Grip and Druids can Ursol’s Vortex the
不祥的刻魂者
s.
In Phase 2, Shamans can Tremor Totem the
黑暗之心
cast, which will remove the fear from any players who were by themselves when the cast finished.
DPS
This encounter is deceptive in the type of damage required, because the adds will be mostly killed by
毁灭
.
We recommend optimizing mostly for single-target damage, especially because the most difficulty part of this encounter is the sub 40% burn, which is pure single-target.
Bloodlust or Heroism should be used when the boss reaches 40%.
Unless your kill time is very slow, all classes will only get to use a single set of cooldowns in this phase, which should be during Bloodlust. The only exceptions are classes with cooldowns shorter than 2 minutes.
The only cast to interrupt is the Void Bolt cast by the
咒缚的祭师
s. This can be interrupted by regular interrupts, or crowd control abilities.
All adds that spawn from
漆黑之门
, with the exception of the
Iron-Willed Enforcer
s, are susceptible to crowd control abilities. This means they can be mass gripped, and stunned, making it easier to keep them stationary in the path of the
毁灭
.
狂热的教徒
s are a fairly high priority target if there is no
虚空晋升者
to help kill them. When they reach 100 energy, they will transform into a
虚空晋升者
, essentially causing a wipe.
Healer
In Phase 1, the largest burst damage portions of the fight will be during
漆黑之门
spawns, and
绝望
casts.
Depending on your main tank, when Despair expires, your raid will take damage based on the tanks missing health. Death Knights are exceptionally good at dealing with it, however they might still need external cooldowns to mitigate the raid damage.
Healers can opt to run Vitality Conduit major, which can help mitigate the amount of damage the tank takes in the last few seconds of
绝望
.
Healers should have a rotation set for dispelling the
毁灭
on the tank. We recommend dispelling around 6 stacks, but this will depend on whether or not your tank has a cooldown rolling or not.
In Phase 2, the most dangerous parts are
黑暗之心
casts. Depending on your damage, you will have to deal with 3 - 4 casts. Make sure each cast is covered by at least one large cooldown, however overlapping on later sets is ideal since the raid has higher
虚空腐蚀
stacks.
Tank
Phase 1 of this encounter has three distinct tank roles. One tank, ideally a Blood Death Knight should be holding the boss. A second tank should be holding the
虚空晋升者
, and a third tank will be picking up adds that spawn from
漆黑之门
.
As the boss tank, the only way to clear the
虚空腐蚀
debuff caused by the
暮光之息
is to pick up and use the Gift of the Void, dropped by the
虚空晋升者
. You should use Gift of the Void in the first intermission, while pointing it away from the raid. The second use should be during second intermission, where it is important to aim it at the adds that are still alive. The third use should simply happen at the beginning of Phase 2, and either use it to clear up adds or point it away from the raid.
The second important ability boss tanks will deal with is
绝望
. When this is applied to the tank, make sure to use a large personal cooldown, because when it expires it will deal damage to the entire raid based on the tanks missing health. Blood Death Knights are especially good at dealing with this debuff, as they can Anti-Magic Shell the last two ticks of the debuff, and remain at 100% health as it times out.
The
虚空晋升者
tank has to deal with positioning the
虚空晋升者
in a way to point the
毁灭
beam at the
漆黑之门
, and the adds that spawn from it. This can be difficult if the
漆黑之门
spawns near the ranged players.
Typically the third tank will pick up the adds that spawn and move them near the boss. We recommend moving the
虚空晋升者
to the opposite side of the boss from where the adds are spawning to avoid having the ranged players in the path of the
毁灭
cast.
As a rule of thumb,
毁灭
should always be pointed at the
Iron-Willed Enforcer
, and the third tank should do their best to maintain aggro an keep the
Iron-Willed Enforcer
as still as possible once near the boss.
毁灭
will deal a significant amount of damage to the tank with aggro on the
虚空晋升者
, so we recommend having damage reduction cooldowns active while its cast. Your healers should be dispelling every 6 - 8 stacks, otherwise you will take too much damage to survive.
The third tank has a very simple role. Pick up the adds from the
漆黑之门
, and move them near the boss. This tank should do their best to avoid being hit by Annihilation, while keeping the adds within its path.
In Phase 2, the
虚空晋升者
tank should start by having aggro on the boss, until the first cast of
荒芜
, at which point the tank from Phase 1 should taunt back and hold the boss until the second
荒芜
.
The third tank will never have aggro of the boss, and should soak each cast of
荒芜
. The other job this tank has is playing near the main tank, to prevent them from having the
恐怖降临
debuff, and move with them during
黑暗之心
to prevent them from being feared.
