Zul, Reborn
encounter on
Mythic Difficulty
in Uldir. Changes to the fight for the other difficulties are listed below in their respective sections, including tips and strategies for dealing with the new mechanics introduced in these difficulties. For LFR, Normal and Heroic difficulties, please

Zul, Reborn
is a two phase encounter. Phase one challenges the raids ability to deal with waves of dangerous adds in tandem with the bosses abilities, whilst phase two is a race to the finish as the raid runs out of room over time.
Zul, Reborn
is the sixth boss in Uldir, the first raid in Battle for Azeroth. After defeating
Zul, Reborn
, players can progress towards the

Mythic Difficulty
Zul, Reborn on Mythic difficulty plays out differently from the easier versions of the encounter due to a few key changes made to the bosses toolkit.
Pool of Darkness
When the
黑暗之池
deals damage, either through an unsoaked
喷涌黑暗
or the soaked
黑暗吸收
, it will apply a stack of
堕落之血
to players who are hit.
The raid must rotate players throughout the fight to ensure that the
堕落之血
stacks are spread evenly amongst the raid.
This is best done by ranged DPS or healers, unless the
黑暗之池
spawns in melee range.
Players must be ready to quickly take over from a soaker if they need to move due to
黑暗启示
/
死亡之愿
.
Players currently soaking a
黑暗之池
during a
黑暗启示
/
死亡之愿
explosion should receive priority healing/use a personal cooldown to survive the incoming damage.
Individuals should avoid soaking all the
黑暗之池
zones, as the
堕落之血
stacks they will receive will likely kill them in the later stages of the fight.
That being said, stopping the
喷涌黑暗
should be the number one priority of any nearby players. After the
喷涌黑暗
has stopped, the soaker should then request for somebody else to take over if they have high stacks.
Forces of Blood
The Forces of Blood adds have the
鲜血回响
passive, causing them to regenerate back to full health a short period after dying.
The only way an add can permanently die and be removed from the encounter is if they are defeated whilst afflicted with
腐烂血肉
.
This passive is not applied to the
祖尔的爪牙
adds, nor the
活化脓液
that is spawned via the
凝聚鮮血
cast.
Adds with
腐烂血肉
can be spotted easily,as they are large and green!
腐烂血肉
is present on one of the Forces of Blood at the beginning of the encounter.
This 12 second debuff prevents
鲜血回响
from triggering.
The debuff will jump to a different add, prioritising those of a different type, when it expires, is purged, or when the add afflicted with the debuff dies.
In the case that the last active add dies with the
腐烂血肉
, there will be no target available and debuff will disappear for the rest of the encounter, likely resulting in a wipe as no adds from that point onward will die.
Although the raid should use the
腐烂血肉
to prevent the Crusher and Bloodhexer from respawning, they should not actively use it to kill the Crawgs.
Instead, the Crawgs should be used by the DPS as a means of increasing single target damage onto the boss.
If done correctly, the group can achieve such high damage as to defeat Zul in under 4 minutes.
Characters that gain a large amount of single target via cleave, such as Subtlety Rogues and Affliction Warlocks should be stacked as much as your roster allows. Guilds may want to consider bringing in lesser geared alt characters, specifically Rogues, to achieve this goal.
Characters that do not gain a large amount of single target damage should avoid damaging the Crawgs as much as possible.
The raid may need to limit the amount of players using the Crawgs for a single target damage increase, as you may run the risk of killing the Crawgs too frequently, leaving large time periods where no extra damage can be gained from them.
The Crawgs should be tanked by a third tank and kited in a small circle around the boss throughout the fight.
The other tanks should limit the amount of damage they do to these Crawgs to ensure they do not rip threat.
The tank will likely need to kite the Crawgs around towards the end of the encounter, where their numbers are greatest.
The kiting tank may need to have periods in which they face-tank the adds to generate threat, before starting the kiting once again.
Classes (such as Frost Mages, Fury Warriors, Assassination Rogues ect) can be assigned to keep the adds slowed to allow for easier kiting.
Phase 1 Strategy
In order to achieve this quick kill time, little non cleave/multi-dot damage should be put into the Crushers or Bloodhexers, meaning they will be alive for prolonged periods of time and will need to die during specific time windows.
This requires a careful control of the
腐烂血肉
debuff.
Dispels should be called for and controlled by a single player, using them to ensure that the correct add gets the debuff in the correct time window.
Do note: Due to the pseudo-random nature of
腐烂血肉
debuff bounce targets, several dispels may be necessary to ensure it reaches the correct target.
As the
腐烂血肉
might not always reach the desired add immediately, any given Crusher or Bloodhexer which is going to be killed should be kept above 25-40% health to ensure they do not die to incidental damage before the debuff has been delivered.
Once the
腐烂血肉
has bounced to the correct enemy at the correct time, DPS need to ensure it dies within the 12 second window to remove it from the encounter.
Below is a breakdown of phase one, detailing the time in which adds spawn, what time they should be roughly expected to die, as well as any additional strategy notes needed to deal with new incoming waves.

Hard crowd control these adds if damage can be met to skip the next set spawning. If not, use HC strat.

This crusher will be largely ignored by DPS. Ensure that it is moved out for it's casts. It will be killed shortly after p2 transition

The boss must be brought to 40% and transitioned before this point to skip this spawn.
If this is unachieveable for your raid group, the previous Bloodhexer set should be killed and this set should be CC'd.

Crusher 2 - Thrumming Pulse cast
After this cast, the Crusher should be brought back into melee range, given the debuff, and killed before it can cast again.
Phase 2
Once Zul has reached 40% health, he will enter phase two.
One tank must be available straight away to tank Zul and face him away from the rest of the raid.
This tank should receive as many
破裂之血
debuffs as they possibly can handle. At which point, the other tank should taunt whilst the debuffed tank moves to the edge to die (and be battle ressed) or receive a
保护祝福
.
Note: the amount of stacks tanks can receive vary wildly on class. That being said, all tanks should be able to receive a minimum of 5 stacks before they cannot handle any additional incoming damage, assuming they managed their cooldowns (both personal and external) correctly.
The rest of the encounter plays out similarly to Heroic difficulty, and the strategy suggested in our heroic guide should be used, with a few minor exceptions.
The crowd controlled Bloodhexers will need to have their CC reapplied to them towards the end of the encounter.
The Crawgs will still be active during this phase and should continue to be used by the assigned DPS to increase their single target boss damage.
Players with
死亡之愿
may want to be left to jump at the very late stages of the boss (last few percentages), as to delay their explosions to the latest possible moment.
