Hello everyone! Since the strategy of my down of Helya Mythic was too long for the youtube video, I chose to make this short guide to explain how the boss works and how I managed the solo.

Mythic Soloing Strategy
Phase 1
The main mechanic in phase 1 is the
海洋污染
. It now lasts permanently and ramps up damage (+10%/sec = +82/sec). It’s the reason I had to go full survival gear (except trinkets). She will cast it with each orb and once in-between. To reset the ramp-up, you need around 15 seconds without the debuff. Through trial and error I found the best moment was after the second breath - when she casts orb + debuff (you don’t see it reapplied but you drop a green explosive zone) I dispel myself, then use immunity on the next one (during tentacle slam).
The second issue here is that the breath will
reduce your armor
by 100%, and for some reason it quintuples (x5) the melee damage your pet takes. As such, you need to stay in melee when your pet dies or she will start casting her
腐蚀新星
- +10% damage for 30 seconds. In a high-damage scenario this is terrible. Note that tanking with the hunter is beneficial to your pets' survival and therefore your dps, just don’t take too much damage if the taint is already ticking hard.
The
腐蚀宝珠
can be avoided by changing side of the room with disengage. But they don’t deal too much damage anyways if you only take one or two ticks - it also ramps up.
Finally, the
毒水吐息
. It deals some damage but the
毒水软泥怪
s it spawns need a barrage for two reasons: space and damage. If you have a hard-hitting taint and they all explode at full health it’s a wipe. I always kept barrage for the adds even if it didn’t hit the boss - optimizing dps on the boss, as I did for the first spawn, risks your pet dying when you are too far from melee range.
You want the boss to transition at 66% before the fourth breath. You want to be on the right (facing boss) platform when she does transition, which is risky since your pet may die while you are on your way, and you need to keep disengage/posthaste. Usually I aimed for the best case scenario and hoped for the best, but by transitioning with enough health I managed a little leeway.
Phase 3
Before talking about phase 2, Phase 3 is an easier phase 1 so we'll talk about it first.
There are a few changes:
Taint of the sea has a longer cooldown, meaning that during the reset time you will spend 40 seconds without the debuff instead of 20 - making it ramp up slower.
The
腐朽的爪牙
s are far less dangerous than the slimes and easier to clean up with barrages. The mariner can be misdirected on the pet.
The
腐化吐息
is different. It
prevents healing
, so make sure to be full health before the cast and use
灵魂治愈
as soon as the debuff is gone. Avoid the
腐化脊髓
s on the ground as they will mind control you if they hit you.
Without the armor debuff the pet can tank without dying.
For the ramp-up reset I immuned on the third breath, making sure to dispel the previous taint.
As far as dps is concerned, I didn't optimize phase 3 for the down.
If you got through phase 2 with 6
巨喉之怒
(add cycles), use
野性守护
at the start and then when hero is available.
If you managed 5 (or less), use AotW on cooldown, and hero if you are being slow on dps and near berserk.
Phase 2
First, right is right facing the boss, so on the boss’ left side.
I'd also suggest using
追踪亡灵
to keep track of mistcallers.
There are two systems in phase 2:
Tentacles:
you need to kill all 8

s. They spawn by pairs of 2, and if you kill one 5 second later the other one will despawn and the next set will spawn (so if you want to kill 2 at a time they must die together). If a tentacle that should spawn is dead, another one will spawn instead. The spawn rotation is upper platforms (inner), front (boss position), upper platforms (outer), back (entrance).
Adds:

s. The mistwatchers have an interruptible

cast that will shorten the cycle by 12 seconds. It’s very difficult (and crit reliant) to get no cast off, and if 2 casts pass you’ll have middle and upper mistwatchers spawn at the same time, starting a snowball leading to a wipe.
Your objective is to get at most 6 furies/cycles - but that will get you to berserk, so it’s best to aim for 5. Also, you want the transition to be clean - if it happens as she starts a new cycle, it’s a wipe.
Finally, at the start of the phase you need to keep yourself alive until the dispel. Then you only need to heal if the Grimelord's

hits you (if it hits you while you have the debuff, it’s a wipe - focus him first during the first cycle).
Before the first add cycle, attack then tentacle on the right and use
夺命黑鸦
- if you need to switch before the tentacle is dead, the dot will finish it. You will rely a lot on the reset of crows in this fight. Then follow this cycle:
on spawn, use kill command on the mistwatcher and a gcd or two (while disengaging). Your pet will kill it before she casts.
disengage to get in range of the other mistwatcher. Note that if you are on the left platform a lot of ledges can block you, hence why I always started on right.
if you manage to get a gcd on the mistwatcher before her cast, interrupt and try to get 0 casts off. If not, wait until the end of her second cast to guarantee a kill before her third.
kill the big adds. Switch to tentacles but be in position for the lower mistwatcher on time.
kill the lower mistwatcher before she casts.
switch back to tentacles.
get back to the right platform before the spawn. Kill small adds if you have time, but they aren’t a threat.
For the tentacles, the order you want to do them in is right, front*2 (at the same time), right, back*2, left*2 (not necessarily at the same time, but it's better).
Considering a single cast passes every time, a realistic objective would be, numbered by furies:
P2 start: Kill Tentacle 1 (left) before cycle 1. It’s why it’s important to start the phase already on the platform.
Cycle 1: get Tentacles 2&3 (front) to low health. You probably won’t have time to kill them, and if you take the risk and fall behind on adds it’s a wipe.
Cycle 2: kill tentacles 2&3, use cheetah to get to the right platform (after lower mistweaver) and kill tentacle 4 (left).
Cycle 3: get tentacle 5&6 (back) low.
Cycle 4: kill tentacles 5&6.
Cycle 5: after the two mistwatchers, kill one big add then kill tentacles 7&8 (right). The lower mistwatcher can be ignored if she doesn't finish her cast before the boss starts transitioning.
In the video, what actually happened was:
P2 start: tentacle 1 dies according to plan despite a not very clean transition.
Cycle 1: I managed no cast off, so I could kill the front tentacles in one go. However had I killed the left one first and used cheetah I could have gotten the upper left tentacle (4) before the spawn (or have crows finish it while I was running around).
Cycle 2: I finished the left tentacle, putting me back on track, but I didn’t capitalize on the success of cycle 1.
Cycle 3: I managed a second no cast off (usually managed to do it once in 10, it’s the main reason for the down I believe). So I had time to kill the back tentacles.
Cycle 4: I could have transitioned here by killing the two left tentacles, but I knew that 5 cycles gave me more than enough time so I decided to play it safe. Not to mention I wasn’t sure if killing one of them would make the second one despawn then respawn with full health (answer: yes). In hindsight, it wasn’t necessary.
Cycle 5: Killed the last tentacle. Playing it safe did pay off though by allowing me a perfect transition with no adds. But it wouldn’t have been worth it had it been the 6th cycle.
So from a theoretical point of view if played perfectly and with lucky RNG it’s even possible to get through the phase in 3 cycles. 4 is doable during a very good try, and 5 is attainable even without rng and therefore should be the goal.
Closing remarks
This boss was awesome and extremely fun since it was more of a strategy-dependent boss than a pure gear check.
To give an idea of how I put in place the strategy, the progress of the fight went this way:
- about 25 tries to put in place the phase 1 strategy (also helped by the 100+ tries in normal last expansion),
- 45 tries reaching phase 2 to understand and plan the phase 2 strategy add killing strategy (at first I ignored the mistwatchers. I should have rewatched fatboss’s guide). I also kept optimizing phase 1 until I didn’t need to use healing cooldowns any more.
- 10 more to get a decent P3 transition and both figure out the P2 strategy for tentacles and plan my phase 3 after analysing the timings
- 1 last to kill the boss. She died on my second phase 3 with clean transition, and the first try where I had managed a 5-fury phase 2.
