This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the
塔罗克
encounter on Normal Difficulty in Uldir. Changes to the fight for the other difficulties are listed below in their respective sections, including tips and strategies for dealing with the new mechanics introduced in these difficulties. The Mythic Guide has moved to its own page which can be found by

塔罗克
is a three phase encounter which challenges the raid with a set of simple, yet highly devastating mechanics. All raid members will need to have a good understanding of the bosses abilities and timings to ensure they can defeat this exciting first encounter!
塔罗克
is the first boss in Uldir, the first raid in Battle for Azeroth; expected to be available on
September 4th
on Normal / Heroic difficulty. After defeating
塔罗克
, players can progress towards the
纯净圣母
encounter.

Quick Tips
Phase One: 60% - 35%
Move to one side of the room when afflicted with

to spawn the

pools close to one another.
Move 30 yards away from the area coated with

pools to completely avoid the damage from

when it is cast.
Remain close to the boss to allow yourself a better chance at sidestepping the bolts sent out by the

cone.
Phase Two: 70 Seconds
Stack up as a group to cause the
爆裂水滴
adds to funnel towards the group. This makes cleaving them down and crowd controlling them with AoE spells much easier.
Move as a group each time a
鲜血风暴
pool spawns from a
凝结之血
add.
Don't fall off the edge of the elevator...
Phase Three: 35% - 0%
Bloodlust and quickly kill off any remaining
凝结之血
adds from phase two.
Kill off or have the tank soak the new
爆裂水滴
adds that spawn around the edges of the room throughout the phase.
Follow the same strategy as phase one regarding
血色静电
,
鲜血大槌
and
赤红迸发
.
Healer-Specific Quick Tips
In addition to the above, healers have a few additional assignments.
In Phase 1, Spot heal players afflicted by the
赤红迸发
, especially if they are likely to be hit by a
血色静电
bolt.
In Phase 3, The tank soaking the
爆裂水滴
adds will need spot healing to ensure they stay alive.
Tank-Specific Quick Tips
In addition to the above, tanks have a few additional assignments.
Phase 1:
Keep the boss in the middle of the room to allow players to spread easily around him. This helps the raid avoid the
血色静电
bolts.
When Taloc casts
鲜血大槌
on you, move near to the
鲜血风暴
patches to clear them. Use a movement spell or damage reduction to lessen the damage from the
鲜血大槌
.
Phase 2:
Make sure that you quickly gain threat on any
凝结之血
adds that spawn.
If a
爆裂水滴
gets too close to the group, you can intercept it and cause it to explode. Make sure it doesn't knock you off the edge of the elevator!
Phase 3:
Tank Taloc close to the middle of the room to ensure that any new
爆裂水滴
adds can be easily killed/soaked before they get too close to the group.
Keep the remaining
凝结之血
adds close to the edge of the room.
The
鲜血大槌
may not be needed to clear
鲜血风暴
pools, as you may be able to kill the boss before you start to run out of free space.
塔罗克
Abilities
Phase One: 60% - 35%.
Taloc starts the encounter at 60% health and will transition into phase two at 35% health. During phase one, players need to make the most of the limited encounter space to ensure that they do not become overrun by the
鲜血风暴
s.
Taloc has three main abilities the raid needs to deal with during phase one.
赤红迸发
On a set timer, Taloc will apply
赤红迸发
debuffs on up to three random non-tank players in the raid. After a 2 second grace period, the afflicted players will begin to take damage every 2 seconds over four seconds.
Each tick of this damage will place a
鲜血风暴
patch on the ground. Standing within these pools will deal high ticking damage to you.
To keep the encounter space clear, players should place these
鲜血风暴
s close to one another on one half of the room, whilst Taloc is tanked close to the centre of the room.
Placing a
鲜血风暴
on top of another player will deal damage to them, so
赤红迸发
afflicted players should attempt to not completely stack on top of each other.
Move to one half of the room when afflicted with
赤红迸发
!
鲜血风暴
pools will be automatically removed when phase two begins, however by placing the
鲜血风暴
s on one half of the room they can be removed efficiently by Taloc's
鲜血大槌
ability.
鲜血大槌
At 100% energy, Taloc will mark his current tank and stand still. After a 4 second cast he will charge the location of that tank and slam his cudgel into the ground.
This deals high magic damage that decreases the further players are from the point of impact and doesn't knockback anyone further than 30 yards away.
Additionally the
鲜血大槌
will remove any
鲜血风暴
pools within 18 yards of the point of impact.
Move 30 yards away from the currenttank when
鲜血大槌
is cast!
When targeted by
鲜血大槌
, standwithin as many
鲜血风暴
s as possible!
The marked tank should move nearby or within the
鲜血风暴
patches as the ability is cast, whilst the rest of the raid moves 30 yards away to completely avoid the damage from the ability.
As soon as Taloc reaches the tank's destination, that tank can then move away from the boss to also reduce the damage they take from the
鲜血大槌
.
Some highly mobile tanks can completely avoid the damage from this mechanic by using mobility spells (such as Infernal Strike, Transcendence, Heroic Leap, etc) after Taloc has reached their initial destination. **
Once the
鲜血大槌
cast has ended, Taloc will move back to the current tank whilst leaving his weapon on the ground.
He will cast
取回战槌
~15 seconds later, causing him to charge back to the weapon.
This deals damage and knocks back any player in the path between the boss and his weapon.
血色静电
A 2 second cast directed at a random member of the raid. Once the cast completes, several bolts will travel across the room in an arc directed at that player.
Each bolt deals high magic damage and knocks back upon contact with any player.
Any player who can avoid the ability by side stepping around the boss should, whilst players who cannot avoid the ability must be quickly topped up by the healers.
This ability can be difficult to dodge, especially if it is targeted in the direction of player who is placing
鲜血风暴
pools at the time.
Attempt to sidestep the bolts when
血色静电
is cast.
Once Taloc has been damaged down to 35% health, phase two will begin.
Phase Two
Stack and move as a single group to funnelthe adds towards the group in a line.
Taloc will move into the middle of the encounter space and gain the
能源关闭
buff. This reduces all damage taken by Taloc by 99%. He is immobile and deactivated during this phase.
Simultaneously, all
鲜血风暴
pools will be sucked back up by Taloc, leaving the encounter space clear for the raid to move around in.
The entire platform the raid is stood on will now begin to descend into the rest of the instance.
Players must be careful of the edges of the elevator as they can fall down to their deaths!
Phase two lasts for 70 seconds and will end once the elevator reaches the lower floor of the encounter space. During this time the raid will need to deal with two different adds that spawn from Taloc himself.

adds will fixate on a random player. If it reaches any player, they will explode with

, dealing damage and knocking back all players within 5 yards.

s need to be tanked. They have the
鲜血泥潭
passive which causes
鲜血风暴
pools to periodically spawn underneath themselves.
The raid should stack up and move as a group each time a
鲜血风暴
pool spawns via the
凝结之血
s
鲜血泥潭
passive.
This forces new
爆裂水滴
adds to always travel towards the group in a single line, allowing the group to easily slow them with AoE/cleave spells.
Any
爆裂水滴
adds that get too close can be soaked by a player before it hits the group. That player needs to be healthy before soaking and they must ensure that they will not be knocked off the elevator.
Once the elevator reaches the bottom, the raid will take a burst of damage and be knocked back away from the middle of the room. This explosion clears all
鲜血风暴
pools and removes any remaining
爆裂水滴
adds. Any
凝结之血
adds still alive from phase two will remain active until killed by players.
Phase Three: 35% - 0%
The new area the raid finds itself in is much larger than the room in phase one. Taloc is now active once again and as a result has regained all of his abilities from phase one, whilst also spawning in
爆裂水滴
adds that were first seen in phase two.
The remaining
凝结之血
adds should be swiftly killed off as soon as the raid enters phase three, as they will continue to spawn
鲜血风暴
s via their
鲜血泥潭
passive.
This may be a good time for the raid to use Bloodlust because as soon as the
凝结之血
adds are dead the fight becomes a lot less chaotic.
Whilst the
凝结之血
s are active, the second tank should tank Taloc, as the combined damage from the boss and the adds may be too much for a single tank to handle.
The
凝结之血
tank should keep the adds close to the sides of the room. This will ensure that the middle area will remain clear for the rest of the encounter.
The
爆裂水滴
adds will now spawn around the edges of the new encounter space, rather than from Taloc himself. As a result, the boss should be tanked in the middle of the room to ensure that players have ample time to either kill or soak any
爆裂水滴
adds that spawn.
The off tank during this phase may wish to run around and soak the
爆裂水滴
adds. This allows DPS to purely focus on killing Taloc as soon as possible.
This tank will need to be heavily spot healed by the healers.
The tank best for this job is one with good magic damage mitigation (such as personal damage absorb spells) and high mobility.
The off-tank should run into
爆裂水滴
adds to soak them!
Aside from the addition of
爆裂水滴
adds, the phase plays out very similarly to phase one, except the raid has far more space and up to five players will gain
赤红迸发
, up from three. This extra space allows the group to be far more care-free when placing the
鲜血风暴
s when afflicted with the
赤红迸发
, simply by being spread out and dropping off the
鲜血风暴
s at the closest edge of the room.
Groups with high damage are unlikely to need to use the
鲜血大槌
to clear any
鲜血风暴
s, as the boss will die before the group begins to run low on free space.
In the situation where the group is likely to run out of space, a similar strategy used in phase one can be utilised during phase three.
Heroic Difficulty
At the beginning of phase two, the
鲜血风暴
s present on the platform will not be removed by Taloc.
The raid should ensure that they clear the majority of the encounter space before transitioning into this phase
During phase two, many large
奥迪尔防御射线
s are present below the platform and as the elevator descends down the shaft, the platform will pass through the beams.
Any player stood in the path of the beam will take lethal damage over a second or two.
The raid should stack up on a single safe location in order to dodge the beams.
A good way to achieve this is to assign a raid marker to a single player who spends the majority of their attention ensuring that the raid will be safely positioned. The rest of the group then stacks on that player whilst killing off the adds that spawn through out this phase.
Stack up and avoid the

s as you descend into phase three!
Mythic Difficulty
Taloc on Mythic difficulty is defeated using much of the same strategy that is used for the heroic version of the encounter, as he has only gained two significant mechanical changes.
