I can only hope the sets will be upgradeable as the specialization blacksmithing weapons are. But if they are, the following upgrades better have a different set bonus than merely increasing spell hit rating by 48 and 72.
Also, a vest is funny looking on casters. We've grown used to seeing ourselves in robes. Have 2 patterns with the same stats? :)

Quite a number of tailoring items have vest forms, so it's not terribly unique there. On the high end (raiding, etc.), it definitely tends towards robes for casters, but tailoring has quite a few examples.
The specialized weapons I think are kind of on another tier entirely. If you look at the materials they require (particularly after you start upgrading them) then they definitely look more exclusive then these do, where the mats could be soloed. My impression so far is that by the time the high end crafting weapons are being made there'll be raiding weapons that surpass it. As it stands there doesn't seem to be raiding weapons that really even pass up Gladiator ones.
So basically, it's early, and the weapons kind of seem like the patterns are out earlier then they're going to be made right away. These definitely look more obtainable.

As a shadow priest this is definitely a set I will go for as soon as possible to get some decent epics for the 25 man raiding as I know a lot of the drops I need will go to mages & locks :P

Total for the set is +66 sta, +44 int, +177 frost damage and +177 shadow damage. The 3 piece set bonus is "Your Frost and Shadow damage spells heal you for 2% of the damage they deal."
The total material costs of all 3 Frozen Shadoweave items are:
468 Netherweave Cloth
52 Arcane Dust
26 Primal Shadow
26 Primal Fire
38 Primal Water
8 Netherweb Spider Silk
If you are Shadoweave specced you only need ½ as many Netherweave cloth, Arcane Dust, Primal Shadow and Primal Fire.

What do you mean by half as much materials? Isn't it required to be Shadoweave specialized in order to get the pattern at all?

I don't understand why this set emphasizes Shadow and Frost damage together. If any locks or shadow priests figure out how to spec Frost, or if any mages learn how to spec Shadow, please let me know!
Seriously, though - what's the point of this set? Mages have no use for it: they can spec Fire/Arcane (and most do anyway) and get the full benefit of Spellfire tailoring. For locks and frost mages and shadow priests, though - why burn the gold on something you can only use half of?

2.1.0 Nerf Details for +shadow dmg on the set:
Frozen Shadoweave:
Shoulders
PTR: 39 damage
Live: 50 damage
Vest (Robe)
PTR: 60 damage
Live: 72 damage
Boots
PTR: 46 damage
Live: 57 damage
This nerf will almost completey chew up the extra +dmg I have on my weapon (+40).
If they nerf the spellstrike set I'd be very dissapointed with Blizzard. However, this isn't live yet so they may change it if enough outrage is generated.
They have been known to switch things back after a nerf (ex. Girdle of Ruination).

This set could be great for warlocks that want alot of stamina, sure there are more stamina on other items but these three items can be great if you don't care about the socket bonuses.. 66 stamina + 12 x 6 stamina gems + 150 hp on chest + 10 stamina from Zandalar and + 12 stamina on boots gives you 175 stamina from three items.. With demonology talents you can get it to x 1.18 more which makes it 2060 hp from 3 items. Imo this is pretty great combined with +179 shadow damage :)

I'm not sure when exactly, I assume 2.1, but the Robe no longer looks like a vest.
It is what it is supposed to be which is a full robe that goes down to your feet and covers your pants. Look at the 5th screenshot posted here, the default one no longer applies.

From kara -if you manage to get it because it's another + frost damage with good stats.
It does however take a while to make, just stick to it i had my doubts at first but it really pays off :)

In regards on where to farm for these materials, I listed the best possible locations - from personal farming experience - for the regeants.
Netherweave Cloth
You're obviously going to need a lot of these to level up your Tailoring. A LOT of them. I started farming these things in Netherstorm (at Manaforge B'naar). The Sunfury Magisters there are very easy to kill, they drop Arcane Tomes and Sunfury Signets, so if you're a Scryer or someone just looking to make an extra buck on the auction house this is definitely a good place to start. However later on, I found Oshu'gun (in Nagrand) to be a prime farming spot for two reasons: 1. The Voidspawn mobs there are very easy to dispose of, 2. they drop
both
Netherweave Cloth
and
Motes of Shadow (often 1 or 2 at a time). Just do a full circle around the huge crystal in the middle and pick off any Voidspawns that you catch around there. Keep an eye out for Durn, though. He travels clockwise so it would be wise to travel counter-clockwise just so you can see him coming from a distance.
Primal Shadow
By far the easiest thing to grab despite its droprate nerf in 2.1. Hellfire Penninsula (Void Ridge) and Nagrand (Oshu'gun) are prime spots for farming this. Void Ridge is a bit of a headache with me being a shadowpriest, since a lot of the voids there absorb the magic type of the first spell that hits them and the other voids collapse on you. Even at 70 they tend to hit me for 1500 at a time after collapsing which makes for a major headache when you've got a rogue nearby waiting to drop you. I would
highly
recommend Oshu'gun for this as the Voidspawns there drop both Netherweave Cloth AND Motes of Shadow which makes for very efficient farming.
Primal Water
Absolutely
nothing
beats the Elemental Plateau when it comes to farming motes. Except for the fact that it can get quite crowded with both Alliance and Horde during primetime playing hours. If you can get the place exclusively for yourself, though (which can be easy if you're a night owl, just farm this place after everyone gets some shut eye) you can easily rack up a good number of Primal Waters from the Crashing Wave-Spirits there in under an hour. The fishing spots here also can bide your time while you wait for the Crashing Wave-Spirits to respawn (the fishing required to get the motes is 380, however, so pack some lures and that Nat Pagle's with you if your fishing is high enough). If it gets too crowded and you want an easier way to farm these things, Terrokar Forest is a great alternative. The Shimmerscale Eels there (surrounding the lake right above the Cenarion Thicket) have about a 20-25% droprate and it's much closer to Shattrath, allowing you to repair and sell without any hassle at all.
Another thing to note, you can get yourself some Primal Fire here from the fire spirits that are adjacent to the lake that houses the Crashing Wave-Spirits. This is what makes the Plateau such a great and coveted place to farm for these things.
Netherweb Spider Silk
Black Morass (Caverns of Time) and Terrokar Forest (Bone Wastes) both provide some nice areas to farm for these things. While the drop rate can sometimes seem painfully low, the respawn rate of the widows in the Bone Wastes and the exclusive farming privileges of the Black Morass are both the fastest ways to net you the silk. Whichever you prefer, whether it's the quiet, orc-invading atmosphere of BM or the quicker, closer-to-Shattrath Netherweb Ridge, you'll find a good amount of silk from either of these places. It's really up to your preference as to where you'd want to farm: convenience or solitude.

Take a good look at other alternatives before deciding to craft this set.
This epic set is iLevel 105, while most level 70 rare gear is iLevel 115. The basic stat bonuses are relatively low and while the spell damage bonus is nice it does not include healing bonus as is found on almost all other caster gear. Additionally the full set bonus is plain useless; picture fighting a raid boss to which you will deal a total of, say, 50 000 damage during the whole encounter, the benefit to you for having the full set will then be a tiny 1000 hitpoints healed.
This is the typical TBC itemization by Blizzard - sacrificing potential stats and bonuses in favor of sockets for customization. Even with very high quality gems this expensive to craft set will only be "that little extra" and most likely poorer compared to a good choice of rare gear.
评论来自
91023
Epic and Rare items have different item level ratios, they are separate categories.
This set is viable well into the end of TBC and does compare nicely to T6 for Shadow Priests.
The boots for example are the best boots hands down in terms of flexibility and raw damage, you should not be replacing the boots at all ever (or until there is a better item released).

Have you noticed that for frost mages this set is not really oh-that good?
Warlocks seem to benefit most of it since they can change additional hp into mana, both warlocks and priests can dot few targets and enjoy constant hp regen while doing something else (fearing, healing, shadow bolting), but frost mage? At level 70 you'll be doing 1000-1500 damage with your frost bolts (not counting crits) which is 20-30 hp/ 2.5 seconds..8-12hp per second, your instant spells are even weaker and you won't cast them faster than one every 1.5 second which makes this set pretty useless in my opinion, especially for pvp, where there are so many (3 atm) nice gladiator's sets that should suite everyone's needs!

this and AOE = major hp regen, especially if ur a frost mage using blizzard, for pvp,ull be getting major regen from constant insta-cast ice lances which will most likely crit.
and btw, this is major ownage anyways even without the hp leech, great spell dmg and fairly ez to get on my opinion

These pieces are pretty decent, but there will be better things dropping out of instances including your Tier 4 pieces, so I'm so sure they are worth it if you are in a raiding guild, considering the amount of mats it takes for this set. If you want all 3 pieces, you will need the following base materials to craft them:
468 - Netherweave Cloth
52 - Arcane Dust
380 - Mote of Water
130 - Mote of Shadow
130 - Mote of Fire
8 - Netherweb Spider Silk
Unless you're carryin' around tons of gold, the AH prices drop drastically, or you have more time than I do to farm all of this, it's going to take quite a bit to make this. Also remember, it is going to take for a Shadoweave Tailor 52 days to craft 26 Shadow Cloth, if you are not purchasing it off the AH.
评论来自
Thottbot
Also, you should take into account that it should not take you the entire 52 days to craft all the pieces. If you are smart, you will craft all three types of cloth, then find reliable people to trade with every four days. This way you can actually get the cloth twice as quickly as before.

It was expensive to get the mats and farming water motes was time consuming but if you're soloing a lot this is a great set to put the time into. With my pet out and my shield up I'm sporting +1050 spell damage total along with my quest rewards and some mid level bc dungeon drops.

I am a shadow priest who has crafted this set. The healing reads 12% on my set bonus, but it is only actually healing for 2%. I was somewhat disappointed when I equipped the entire set and only got a 2% heal, yet when fighting multiple mobs it is a bit useful.
With this being such a minor set bonus, I don't really feel bad having only 2 pieces equipped at times. If a fight is suspected to last a very long time, I'll usually swap out the vest for another chestpiece with more intellect.

A lot of you are drawing comparisons to the Priest talent Vampiric Embrace and concluding that this is a lot weaker. You are both right and both wrong.
Against a single target when VE is off of its cooldown this set bonus will add very little. But against multiple enemies when your VE isn't available this set bonus can offer invaluable healing.
For any Shadow Priest who's ever tab-SW:Pain'ed the AOE packs in Kara' it is godly. Considering you are able to get 6~7 SW:Pains on the enemies ticking for around 550 a go (pretty realistic), you are looking at 71.5 health per tick compared to the zero you would otherwise have received.
Or alternatively 71.5 health + 137.5 with VE on a single mob.
This "aura" bonus is a damn sight better than VE, even at 2% and I plan to keep it around long after I've out-grown it just for the set bonus in those situations.

I have this set. I have done a bunch of testing on it, and I'm pretty sure that the fel armor IS helping the amount given back. I know that it gives more spell damage and the more damage you do..........the more health you get back. I have improved Fel armor so i'm getting even mroe spell damage. Just not sure if it helps the amount of health given back.
I know that my siphon life do their damage (let's say 100 per tick) with improved Fel armor that gives a 26% increase to healing effects which gives me back 126 life back, and the same goes for every tick of Drain life.
And for you guys asking about if it effects DOTS. It does.......and have fun adding up all the numbers, because there are a TON of them. If I've got a target fully dotted -Corruption, curse of affliction, Immolate, Unstable affliction, siphon life, and drain life - I'm getting so many numbers over my head for healing I can't even see my character. Although they're 5,9,11,6,5,4,8, crit for 15, shadow bolt crit for 30, and the list goes on and on. I have yet to see a heal come back from it that is in the 40's. I have 840 shadow damage and something just over 1k shadow damage if my trinket and Orc racial are used. Got my drain life to heal me per tick for 468 on a fully dotted target.
I can tell ya that it does give health back separately on a drain life and siphon life tick. You do 300 damage on a drain life tick....you get 378 health back from drain life (with improved fel armor) then you get 7-8 health per tick from the set bonus.

- The "Spellfire" and "Shadoweave" tunics have been changed to robes.
Also,
- "Frozen Shadoweave Set": The set bonus from these items will no
longer have its tooltip modified by the "Vampiric Embrace" talent
and can no longer cause a critical strike heal.

I'll have compared the Tier 4 with this set, this is what came out:(i've addes the battlecast set to this to make it a equal item)
Tier 4:
Stamina 183
Intellect 157
Spell To Hit Rating 44
Spell Critical Hit Rating 66
Spell Dmg 203
Frozen Shadowweave Set:
Stamina 66
Intellect 44
Spell Damage (Shadow) 179
Battlecast set:
Stamina 85
Intellect 55
Spell Dmg 89
Let's add those 2 above:
151 Stamina
99 Intellect
Spell Dmg 268
and compare with Tier 4:
Tier 4 / Frozen Set / Result:
Sta 183 - 151 = 33
Int 157 - 99 = 58
Hit 44 - 0 = 44
Cri 66 - 0 = 66
Dmg 203 - 268 = -65
As i'll see, that the Tier 4 Set gives lots more Sta/Int, and it also gives Hit and Cri rating, but as an afflicition, i think the last 2 stats (Hit and Cri) are pretty useless for me, as my dot's barely miss.
What i do see, is a huge diffence between +dmg om the sets, althought the Frozen Set gives online Shadow and Frost dmg, i still think 65 spell is a bit much, exspecially as PvE.
Sockets:
Tier 4 / Frozen Set / Result:
Red 2 - 2 = 0
Blue 1 - 5 = -4
Yellow 3 - 3 = 0
Meta 1 - 0 = 1
As u'll can see, the Tier 4 has 4 sockets less then the Frozen Set, what it's a shame, as with the Frozen set, u'll can compare much of the sta/int lost with the tier 4, as with the sockets loss in Tier 4, u'll can't make it up with the lost dmg.
Let's fill in the sockets the best way possible:
Frozen Set:
+12 Sta in the blue slots x 5 =+60 Sta
+8 int the yellow x3 = +24 int
+5 spell dmg and +6 sta in the red = +10 spell and +12 sta
Total:
+72 sta
+24 int
+10 dmg
Tier 4:
+8 spell dmg in the red x2 = +16
+12 spell dmg in the meta = +12
+5 spell dmg and +6 sta in the blue = +5 spell +6 sta
+4 crit and +5 dmg in the yellow x3 = +12 cri and +15 dmg
Total:
+38 dmg
+12 cri
+6 sta
(Just used the blue sockets as comparing, not the epic)
And let's add these number with the stats:
Tier 4/Frozen/Result
Sta 39(+6 socket) -72 (socket) = -39 stamina
Int 58 - 24(socket) = 34 Int
Dmg: 75 (10 socket) -38 (socket) = -37
With this stats, the Tier 4 even has less use now, the only advantage of the set now is the +cri and +hit and some int. The Tier 4 really sucks with Sta now, and still with the dmg.
As last part, let's talk about the set bonusses:
Tier 4:
2: Your shadow damage spells have a chance to grant you 135 bonus shadow damage for 15 sec and your fire damage spells have a chance to grant you 135 bonus fire damage for 15 sec.
Could prove handy in raids, but we also have trinket for this.
4: Increases the duration of your Corruption and Immolate abilities by 3 sec.
Dunno what's blizzards meaning with this? Does the Corruption and Immolate just get 3 sec longer, what mean they deal less dmg over time, or did they also added dmg for the 3 secs? i hope for the warlocks out there. But can't see the use for this...
Frozen Set:
3: Your Frost and Shadow damage spells heal you for 2% of the damage they deal.
Not much healing, but with dots in Raids and PvP real handy, u'll can use more life tap in raids, without using the healers mana.
2: Increases the chance spell pushback and spell interrupt will be resisted by 5%.
Could prove handy in PvP, in raids, it's not very effective.
According to my stats above, i chose The Frozen Shadoweave set and the Battlecast set above Tier 4, As i love the +dmg, and the +sta could prove really handy in pvp. What do you think?

You're not in love with T4, aren't you ?
Think of it this way also :
you can keep your tailored boots while wearing the full T4 set.
the 2-bonus set is great, passiv and you can trinket on it also.
the-4 bonus piece means : one more tic of corruption & immolate, so if you have a 400 tic on corruption, it's 400 more dmg done. same for immo.
+ it slows your spell rotation, meaning you can spam one more SB before refreshing it.
+ it's pure +dmg not only shadow, meaning that any template not only pur shadow gets a real up.
+ it come with loads of +crit, same reason as above
+ it's looking cooler than the tailored set ;)

Comparing this set + battlecast to T4 is just silly. First of all using battlecast for PVE is stupid. Even for locks who want more stamina, spellstrike is far better. I know locks love stamina, but you dont need that primarily in raids. Have you seriously ran out of mana in a raid because you ran out of life to tap?
Spellstrike gives higher spellpower and also gives hit rating and crit that battlecast lacks. It also has 1 gem slot more per piece and a better set bonus for PVE than battlecast. Battlecast is a PVP set, period!
For a shadowpriest its even less of an issue. Spellstrike wins hands down. You dont need the stamina you dont need the int. You need maximum dps that will increase your health and manaregen for the entire group.

will work fine for my full afflic lock
always using siphon coa (cos when other shadow based with me) unstable corruption with life tap frequently to try dont waste the heal of the siphon and im also drain lifing a lot and sometimes when nigthfall proc boom i try to always keep dot on target and i have a perfect mana regeneration life tap self heal combo this would prolly enhance it and also give me a lot a + shadow dmg
and wow the set bonus must be so good on terestian when you spamming all those soc you get some heal and it can permit your healer a little less healin on you seeing that soc it like 10 target a time its like 1500 x 10= 15k dmg 2% of 15k = 300 heal its half of a renew
