Although not a true set, the tuxedo outfit is popular with characters who aspire to obtain a refined look. The set can be made by a tailor with a skill of at least 250 and the necessary patterns:
Jacket Pattern -
Shirt Pattern -
This is my outfit of choice when I'm on a lowbie ganking run, because I find it far more intimidating than regular gear.
Other tux pieces:
If you're wondering what to get for shoes, you might want to consider the Heavy Weave Shoes (
), a level 12 item you can get from several vendors.
To complete off the look, I obtained Chief Architect's Monocle in BRD
Real nice formal look.
A total of 65 Mageweave Cloth and 8 Heavy Silken Thread is needed to make a complete Tuxedo set.
Are there any gloves to go with this?
You can put a lvl 35+ enchant on this one, I use Royal Dangui on my twink, though.. Uglier but.. blinger!
E: Level 1 twink, naturally (or 2-10 etc :D)
Its a shame you can't find any good looking dress clothes for trolls =(
If you put this on with a bald human, along with the other peices that trelph linked, you look just like
Berthold <The Doorman>
In Patch 2.4 this got nerfed to 3 armor. Once the best lv 1 cloth armor in the game, now it's got less armor than the lv 1 cloth bracers.
There's a nice new helm item in 2.4 The Noble's Monocle(
), you get it from the daily fishing rewads bag.
The Ultimate Banker's Collection:
Rules: No level requirement higher than level 5 may be used, as most banker toons exist in the range of level 1-5. Items with no requirement at all are preferred. The higher quality item, the better, but quality should never trump style. Style is greater than all. Cost should be as high as possible, to show the influence of your Banker and ability to procure and sell items. But again, style trumps cost. Points for any class being able to equip the item. More points for improving your style as only your class can and no other, as this shows more prestige and elitism. Further points awarded for using as many item slots as possible on your toon.
Tarnished Silver Necklace:
-or interchangeable with-
Formal White Shirt:
Antique Silver Cufflinks:
-or interchangeable with-
Tarnished Silver Ring:
Gold Wedding Band:
-alternate option for personal style-
-upgrade to, if desired-
Bouquet of Black Roses:
-or upgrade to the ultimate, not for the faint of heart-
Bouquet of Red Roses:
The choice of the Tux Shirt or Formal Shirt is based on style, I prefer Formal myself. Looks better on female toons. The choices of The Rock or Tarnished Silver Ring hinges on whether you prefer to show off the money you throw around or the time you throw around. Frayed Gloves, Belt, and Shoes are throw-away items, place holding. They look good with the outfit, but don't add anything to your prestige. Skinning Knife is chosen because it's totally unbreakable! Which is key for a Bank Toon, who should never waste money on important things, only on useless things. That and because it has way more class than the other Unbreakable weapon, the Blacksmith Hammer.
The Off-Hand choices are mostly up to style. I prefer the option of the single red rose, however the black options have potential for some, especcially for Undead toons. The Bouquet of Black Roses is even more prestigous however, due to the hefty increase in cost. However, the Bouquet of Red Roses is clearly the king of prestige items, due to the fact it can be used at any level and it has a proc, but only obtained in high level instances. Making it very tricky for the level 1-5 bank alt to procure.
Suggestions on improving the list are welcomed and encouraged. Banker Toons of the World... UNITE!
Full tux, and a long silken cloak on a tauren make you look like 'The Beast' from a Disney film.
this is so cool im getting one ASAP damn this looks...................damn ladyleah where do u get all thiose screen shots from anyway ur good at taking em im over and out bye
whaere do you get the patterns? yea it looks cool who cares i want to know WHERE to get it form WHO! jeez
im with that guy
In Steamwendle Port there is a Fashion Designer do you think it has something to do with that?
Once i saw a guy with the whole tuxedo set and he was wearing one of those glasspieces over one of his eyes (dunno what is is called in english, but it is called "monokel" in swedish") and he looked really cool
can someone put a picture with the full tuxedo "set" plz? I really have to see it...
PS: i know it's not a SET
I have the whole set for the tux but I am trying to find some white gloves and shoes to top it off.... also does anyone know if there is a top hat in the game somewhere? OH and since I am asking is there also a cane or a sword item that LOOKS like a cane?
You're going to like the way you look. I guarantee it.
The tuxedo set looks kickass but I must agree with whoever said the price needs to go down atleast a bit..
There's no tuxedo shoes, you're gonna have to stick with something matching enough for now :)
Black Mageweave Boots and Master's Hat of whatever fit EXTREMELY well with this.
I wonder what the proc rate is for this. :D
but it looks ugly on trolls
I believe I might have found the best match... go with the full tuxedo suit (Shirt, Vest, Pants). Dunno where to get 'em from alliance, but for horde you can buy from the clothier in the Crossroads. For hat, will do the trick. Here's what it comes out looking like.
You can find those in the Screenshot section. Tagged by Ugo from Terenas.
For all of you who seek a relatively perfect matching gloves, boots, hat and cane.
Note: this set is ONLY for Horde characters that have Burning Crusade Expansion installed.
1. Tuxedo Jacket (
2. Tuxedo Shirt (
3. Tuxedo Pants (
4. Durable Hat of the *** (
) - bought it on AH < 1g
5. Shimmering Gloves of the *** (
) - bought on AH < 1g
6. Velania's Walking Stick (scrn. 1 and 2;
) or Cedar Walking Stick (scrn. 3;
7. Heavy Weave Shoes (
Remember that the gloves have green toes, so if you character's skin is not green (not an orc) this will look quite weird.
The recipes for the Tuxedo Items are 240-250 Tailoring and are sold with limited supply (1) next to the Tailoring Trainer in Undercity for approximately 50s a piece.
Dark Weave Shoes are sold by a Clothier in The Crossroads, Barrens for some silver.
Cedar Walking Stick is a drop. Bought mine on AH. Luckily someone have put it. Fat chance of buying it because its a gray item, so everyone trashes it or sells it to vendors.
Velania's Walking Stick is a quest reward in a low level Blood Elf quest line that ends with this quest -
. Any Horde race can complete this quest line.
Seek an update soon when I will get my hands on Master's Hat of ***, cause to be honest, Durable Hat of *** looks a bit rubbish.
This was made with the help of many people who left there comments and screenshots in different sections of thottbot.com.

My main is a tailor and I made this set for a rogue alt of mine, and I found that the
White Bandit Mask
), made with Tailoring, looks very good with the tuxedo set.
I really need to get my 2 friends and I this, so when noobs call for help we just run up and start dancing, maybe another guy to sing a song lol.
Just curious, can you apply enchants/patches to tuxedo pants/jacket?
I was just thinking that you could have a cute 19 twink fighting in style and killing like bond tuxed out with goggles.
Yes, it is possible to enchant the tuxedo parts. But the thing I don´t get is that if the item lvl of the jacket is 35, why isn´t it possible to put on +6 stats to it (TBC enchant)? I tried that but it didn't work.
Anyone has an idea why?
dammit it looks weird on undead....cant they make it so that it doesnt always show the damn bones
I and four friends of mine have made 5 precisely the same looking gnomes and we are going to give them those so we look really cool:D
why is there no top hat in this game that would be the best ever and would go great with the tux suit
every see the dancing murlocks they have top hats talioring should get one as one of those for looks only sets
Tried to have someone put the +6 stats and got the same thing, even if the tooltip says item lvl35. The pants was fine, slapped on cobrahide leg armor that I had not being used (or sold). +6 did go on "simple black dress", though my toon being male...no,
jacket is hella nice if the +6 would work. definitly cool for lowbie BG's
does anyone else think the whole tuxedo set looks crap? I sold mine for 40g lol
Picked up a random gray hat (
Dilapidated Cloth Hat
) in shadowmoon..had to get the pimp set to go with it ;D
Destromath Horde whisper Alvina for full Tuxedo set and the White Wedding Dress :D
I hate how the alli on Stormreaver put this on AH for 20-50g, since im a tailor a just go to IF, buy supplies, make it and put it on AH for 1-3g lol
If u want to save sum money just use formal white shirt for the shirt, and black mageweave pants, then the only expensive thing you need is the vest.
Okay so i basically found the BEST HATS for the tux,
Purple Brewfest Hat
Different colors to choose from, i like purple the best...only problem Brewfest is over so you'll have to wait til next year to get them if you haven't already. It sucks cause i didn't notice these til after brewfest : (
maybe its a bug but mine SAID it sold for 50g but it was really 20s :_(
I don't know about top hats, I'd go with a monocle.
Some people want a walking stick or cane to go with the tuxedo. The best I've found so far are the
for Alliance and
Velania's Walking Stick
for Horde. Both are obtained through a quest however (Night elf and Blood elf respectively), which means that any character who has done the quest and sold the item will not be able to (re)aquire the item.
A close match and easy to get - if the quests are out of the question - is the
which can be bought for about one silver from quite a few weaponsmiths. It has silvery white wrappings instead of gold.
Another close match is the
Primitive Walking Stick
available through a horde quest in Durotar and a warlock quest in Durotar. Slightly less chique because the wrappings are green instead of golden. It has the same skin as the
which may be a common grey drop, but I'm not sure I've ever seen it.
Here's me in the tuxedo I made myself:
Got the patterns for all the parts today, had to grind the highborne in azshara to get nuff mageweave
for getting my skill up to 250, tomorrow I'll grind the cloth for making the stuff
I'll try to remember to post a pic of me

I just made a set for someone today and spent god knows how much gold to get tailoring to 250. now my question is why bother with it? I put it on and didn't impress anyone not even myself
Can make this on Doomhammer server alliance side, if anyone there finds any use for formal clothing, just send tell to Jelizaveta. :)
The full set (Jacket, shirt, Pants) require 65 x mageweave (for the 13 Bolts) 1.60g (For the 8 Heavy Silk thread), and the 150 Tailoring. Not to forget, the Patterns (for 1.40g).
The best combos are ///

Here is the tuxedo on my dwarf:
"The names Bond, James Bond."
Made a set for somebody, now they want to know about shoes... say it looks funnny barefoot heh
Best boots that go with this set are
New characters have "Recruit boots", and they look good enough allthough they are kneehigh on all but gnomes. But to complete the tuxedo perfectly were the "frayed boots" which are dropped by the mobs in the "brand spankin new" areas when you first make a character.
Anyone have a screenshot of this? preferably with the other matching tuxedo pieces
Can make this on Doomhammer server alliance side, if anyone there finds any use for formal clothing dont hesitate to /w Jelizaveta. :)
The cloth armor merchant in the trade district of stormwind sells Heavy Weave Shoes, which are a decent black color and complete the suit pretty well. Not that I've searched extensively, but they're super cheap to boot =]
Got full set and engineers guild headpiece and was wondering about some nice stuff to go with it, can't find any really good shoes to go with it. any ideas?
NPC upper stair at Tailor Guild in IF sell recipe.
Yeah the other day I saw someone wearing a
Tuxedo Jacket (at least I believe that's what it was called). It was lv30 cloth armor and had the effect "+7 damage" Thought that would be AWESOME for rogues, unfortunately I don't see the item listed here on allakhazam. Anyone know about it?

One of my best friends is a Master Tailor.
