The easiest way to farm Felcloth is to go to the satyr camps in Azshara. Be prepared to come back later because these mobs are heavily camped.

Another nice place to farm felcloth: the jadefire in northwest felwood. I found about 10 in an hour... though, I farmed 2 hours after that and didn't get a single one... felcloth is fairly difficult to find. In the process you grab some runecloth, demonic runes, and broken crappy weapons to sell to vendors, so it is worth a little farming here too. Also heavily camped...

Definitely bring a healer with you if you go farm these satyrs, not so they can heal you but so they can need on the runes to use for raids. Azshara is definitely the easiest place to farm at the Legashi Satyr encampments. There are 3 different camps and usually not too much competition for them ( at least on my server, Gorgonash). so you can ride from camp to camp and just clear each one out.

There's an imp in Winterspring, named Vi'el, who sells limited stock Felcloth. He sells it for 80s per cloth, so if you only need a little bit, and don't feel like farming, he's in Darkwhisper Gorge, in the cave you see immediately as you walk in.

Well...i read all the comments above, and the real easiest way to "farm" felcloth is at AH...it takes less than 2 minutes, you get no respawns, avoid death and headache. But if you want to farm, the locations above are correct...

Aiya...Gul'Dan server's economy is so messed...there's only one Felcloth going for 5g along with other crazily priced stuff. I'm guessing on servers with a stabler economy, a stack of this stuff would go for around..30-40g or so?

Don't be a nub like I was and think, oh, the drop rate is higher in DM, I'll just go there. Yes, it is higher (in theory, I've gotten two and I'm most of the way through), but the mobs are Elite. Could probably have saved myself a lot of time had I just gone to the jadenfire place in the first place, even if the drop rate is a little lower, i could be killing them 2-3x as fast.

Spent about 40 mins killing Jadefires in Felwood at Jadefire Run tonight, killed LOTS and not a single piece dropped.

I agree. I got some to drop off of Legashis at the above percentages and I've never got anything to drop off Jadefires.

i'm a level 58 warlock farming felcloth for my robe of the void and the best place to farm is defintely jadefire glen, the small jadefire camp just west of deadmaw village in th southwest corner of felwood. the satyrs are slightly lower level than the other two camps, few people know about this place and the drop rate is just as good as any other satyr camp in felwood.

I grinded tailoring to 300 in one day + took another day to grind regeants needed for Robe of the Void. I'd say the best place to grind felcloth is in Azhara, on the northern peninsula around the easternmost demon camp. As a warlock, I could dot the whole camp and just kite them around until they died. Then after picking the loot, they'd respawn.
In comparison to Felwood demon grinding, the drops were completely different. In Felwood, after 1 hour of grinding I managed to get 4 demonic runes and 1 felcloth. In Azhara, in that same time I got 6 felcloth and 1 demonic rune. All in all, it took me about 5 hours to collect 45 felcloths.

the drop rates on this and every other thottbot page are NOT supplied by Bliz. they are information collected off everyday players like yourself who are generous enough to run the thottbot add on and upload the information it collects.
therefore the information in the drop rate charts is absolutely 100% correct, it is real time kills versus drops data from players in the game.
this is a rare'ish sort of drop, and hence the price, it would also explain the statistical anomolies encountered when it is such a small drop rate. (around 3 to 4 % generally)
unfortunately you will always have people posting on here that "i grinded 4 eva and got nuffin".
when you have killed between 40 and 60 THOUSAND NPC's and still have "nuffin" then I will listen to you, because the drop rates stated on this page are actual kills made by real people, people who are generous enough to run the thottbot add on and upload their information.

56 Warlock here farming 40 felcloth and 20 demonic runes for Robe of the Void.
I'm a little dissappointed with the info posted here on thottbot, usually it's really helpful, but what I'm reading on felcloth is a little vague or inaccurate.
You can farm felcloth and demonic runes from the Jadefires in Felwood or the Legashi in Aszhara. My experience has been that Jadefire wins hands down..
The droprate in Azhara is incomparable to Jadefire. After a few hours in both, and noticing how pitiful Aszhara drops were looking I asked 4 and everyone pointed me back to Jadefire. Thats for both felcloth and demonic runes. Jadefire = higher droprate than aszhara.
A lot of people complain about the opposing faction in Jadefire.. I play alliance on a high pop pvp server and most of the time the horde don't bother me if I don't bother them, it's surprisingly peaceful. Especially fellow warlocks.
In conclusion: FARM THESE IN JADEFIRE.

has the drop rate increased? I got 11 felcloth after about 3-4 wipes (60-80 kills?) of their base in the NorthWest section of felwood. After having 3 with less than 10 kills I thought it was a fluke, but they kept dropping regularly. Had one in the bank, makes 12, won't be back for quite a while!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you guys know that the drop rate is not broken at all. I'm hunting Legashi's and here is what I got in an hour and a half.
Runecloth x 44
Felcloth x 6
Demonic Rune x 5
Major Healing pot x 2
Major Mana pot x 1
4 Green Items
Scroll of Str III x 1
Scroll of Agility III x 1
Didn't count gold
Hope this help at all.

At level 70 i love farming this stuff when i'm simply bored. I kill the saytr's in norhtern Azshara and can easily 2 hit them. Spend an hour farming can usually get around 10 pieces or so, which on my server can be sold 5g a piece. 50g in an hour? not too bad.
At 70 i know i could be farming much better money makers but theres usually competition farming primal waters and +aldor/scryer rep etc. So its great to farm felcloth

I had a great deal of luck in the Jadefire Glen (entrance 43.84 but it should also show up on your map). 45 minutes got me 3 felcloth, 56 mageweave cloth, 12 runecloth, 4 greens and a blue (Skibi's Pendant!), not to mention everything dropped from 1-6 silver plus assorted other stuff including mana and healing potions.
Jadefire guys range from 49-51 and respawned quickly. My 63 hunter obviously didn't get any XP but I found I could kill 4 at a time if I could drag them into a group with my pet. Viva Volley! I finally ran out of bag space but I'll be back. Only one other mid-level player there doing a quest. Great place if you need cloth for your tailor.
With the new flightpath at the Emerald Sanctuary, this is really easy to get to.

I get about 1 Felcloth for every 9-10 Runecloth that drop from Legashis in Azshara.
Scratch that, I got that rate the first two times, the next several times they dropped rarely. Luck is such a fickle thing.

to get to vendor, vi'el. once in winterspring go south from everlook until you hit darkwhisper gorge (the area where the snow turns to dirt and there are elite demon guards). as you enter, do not attempt to go through the guards. i did this and aggroed, though it is easy to run out and lose aggro. it is FAR easier just to stick to the right, and ride the mtns past the guards(actually be in the mtns, going over the hills, not on the ground next to the mtns, though this should probably work too, but i think it is better to climb the mtn a bit), eventually you will get to the spot where you can go up to the cave. this is not too far past the guards, near the second pillar on the right. this is way easier than trying not to aggro as you walk through the guards. also, you will bypass the guard that is at the bottom of the hill where the road going up to the cave is, because you will hit the road about in the middle rather than at the bottom where he walks. at that point stick to the left of the road so you can pass the guard at the cave... do it as his back is turned. my ride here has produced no felcloth, but i'm gonna wait it out a bit and see if some shows up. good luck

I'd say the best way to get these is either AH or the legashi demons in Azshara. ive grinded there for a while for exp and as a bonus i get about 4 or 5 every hour. i sell each for about 2g at the AH and they sell FAST.

I find that the best place to get Felcloth is in North Ashara. I dont know if it was just me being lucky but i was doing a warlock quest there and also i am collecting for my Robe of the Void. After getting 1 felcloth on my 3rd mob, and what i needed for the quest, i decided to stay and within about 15mins I had 5 Felcloth. I was pretty pleased with myself. I hope this is helpful for you.

I can't see how this worth it. I have been farming them for 2 hours and 3 minutes and have only gotten one felcloth. I am not sharing either...no one else has been here the whole time. I would pay 100 gold a piece to save myself the aggravation, but there are none on the auction hall either. This is by far the absolute worst drop rate I have ever encountered.

After reading the comments on the low drop rate of this Felcloth I was beginning to hate the thought of having to get it but as I was doing another warlock quest in Azshara (needed Fel Essence) I killed 2-3 rogues and instead of getting the essence I got a felcloth. You have no idea how happy I was, lol. Now the Fel Essence is taking long, lol.

I was grinding the satyrs in Azshara last night for about an hour and I ended up with 7 felcloth. I also found a rare spawn which was a blue colored satyr, cant remember his name, but he ended up dropping a blue item for me called the Guttbuster (Gun). All in all, a very successful hour of grinding. Last I checked, the felcloth were selling for about 2 gold in the AH. I am on Ysondre.
Also, I am level 54 human rogue and I have absolutely no problem killing these mobs. Most of the time they hardly hit me once since I can keep them stunned almost throughout the entire fight. I was able to move pretty quickly through them and the respawn on these are pretty good. I just did circle around the ruins where they are located. I believe it is called the Legashi Encampment.

I wonder if the drop rate is linked to the time of day that you kill the mob? After all felcloth is supposed to be connected with the night - so do they drop more at night?

I dont know if I was just lucky or what but I am working on gettin my rep with Darn up and in order to do that I need runecloth. So me and a friend of mine grind in two spots in Azshara and one spot in Felwood. I get all the runecloth and she gets all the Felcloth that drops. After about 1.5-2 hrs of grinding she walks home happy with about 8-10 pieces of the Felcloth and I am stacked.

I find that the best place for farming these is in Azshara. There is a high population of foreign-speaking farmers, but there are usually enough mobs to accommodate all. There are three popular camps in the NE area of the map. Of course, the farmers cannot be dealt with because I am on a PVE server, so it may be different on PVPs.
After killing tons of Legashi Satyrs(satrys, rogues, hellcallers), I have seen a drop rate of somewhere around 1/15. Of course, this is tempered by lots of runecloth, green drops, coin, and the occasional recipe.

Gained 55000xp while farming for it in the Legish camp in Azshara, I gave up on it and went to buy it on AH instead. There were 2 level 70 hunter gold farms there though so they might have been the lucky one to get them.

Grinded in Legashi camp for 1h, got about 10 Felcloth!
So i stayed to grind more, and got none for the next 2h or so... :D
Went back the following day, got 14 pieces in about 2h.
It's long and a bit boring but you get a nice amount of coin in the end since they drop up to 8 silvers. I still get xp for killing them (i'm lvl 58 shaman) so it's nice and they're easy to kill. It's just good to be able to interupt spell casting with those Hellcallers because their fire spells hurt a bit!
I got 2 blue cards, an epic ring and many greens. Many grey drops vendor for over 1G.
I enjoy the high runecloth drop rate very much too! Great place to be for a tailor since you also get the Demonic Runes you need to craft the Felcloth items! I saw no farmers at all, just an annoying horde once... :P

I'll try again today and hope for the best.

those drop nicely from both jadefire satyrs in felwood, and satyrs in azshara, however I'm 60 now and I've been bored of farming those...and I'm looking for another good spot with demons that drop them, but have a higher level than those satyrs, and so far the only ones are either elite, or really bad spawn rate without any other good drops. So I guess I'm forced to stick to the satyrs, unless someone knows a good higher level place (54+) to girnd them and would like to share it with us.

All I seem to do is farm these things...
Felwood: Problem is everyone farms here. If I do go here, I SW:P all I see, They chase me, and they die. If there are too many people, I go to the boss camp and wait. The spawn rate is fast enough that I can get them all before anyone else. Once they are dead, I drink mana and wait. If there is no competition, I simply run in a pattern with my DoT.
Azshara: Down by the Naga's Beach behind the Timbermaws by the Bloodelves.
Run a pattern DoTing everything. The gold farming hunters can't keep up and usually leave. I always try to strike up a conversation with anyone who is farming the same stuff I am. If they don't reply or seem like a gold farmer then I am brutal in taking every mob I can. If not. I tone down and share the wealth.
I also never buy the stuff. I don't like having to compete with people who are trying to make gold, when I need this stuff to make mooncloth. If you want to sell felcloth for gold, go ahead....I aint buying it. Nor should any self-respecting tailor.

Well first of all I would like to thank you all for posting on here. It saved me tons of time and money.
I went to felwood and started to clear the mobs in northern felwood. I got 1 felcloth. I continued to Jadefire, but unfortunately for me some one else had jus run through there so needless to say, there where no drops for me.
So I headed up to Azshara to grind in Legash Camp. Such a nice quite place to grind! I ended up with 5 felcloth in about an hour. Not to bad, I also got 4 1/2 stacks of runecloth. I think I'll go back there tonight and see how many I can get. It is real easy with a 70 Hunter. My pet does most of the work.....LOL

Killed 1000 satyr's in Azshara while leveling my hunter pets, drop rate for classic is almost certainly lower than listed here. Got exactly 40 cloth from 1000 kills, so drop rate is looking like it's around the 4% mark as reported by others.
Legashi Hellcaller - 12 drops 332 kills
Legashi Rogue- 12 drops 337 kills
Legashi Satyr - 16 drops 331 kills

For non-Classic players:
For those wanting to learn how to make Mooncloth, you can go buy the pattern from Qia a female goblin in Winterspring for 2 gold, so don't buy it on the AH those that sell it on the AH price it up to one or two thousand gold to those who can't find it or get it due to the lack of the quest not being found for it now. Anyways this was Blizzard's solution to the loss of the quest for learning it. The pattern can be gotten at any time it's not rare or limited.

There may be a hidden quest requirement before Felcloth will drop from world mobs. I killed hundreds of satyrs in Azshara and Felwood without seeing a single piece of Felcloth, while the players I was partied with collected 5-6 a piece. I then worked to complete
碧火萨特

. As soon as I turned in that quest, Felcloth started dropping readily from the mobs. FYI if you are having difficulty.
