Combined with the Shard of the Scale (
), you will love your healing boosts.
This is a great item for any healer. The +66 healing boost and 9 mana per 5 seconds really is a great help and for me at least, helps me get near the top of the healing meter. Plus, by this time you probably have some or all of your tier 1 or tier 2 set. That means for healers you get even more healing to the set bonuses and you'll be keeping your raid alive better than ever.
Still one of the best trinkets at level 70.
Very true. Even some lvl 70 epic trinkets cant compete with this.
Still using it with Essence of thr Martyr. On Kael'thas at the moment and no real upgrade in sight.
Lower City Playerbook better imo.
Simple math: LCP gains -22 for each spell for 15 sec. For example u r cast 3sec spell, so 15sec/3=5 spells. 22*5=110 mana per minute of economy. Its a 1.8(3) mana per second or 9.1(6) mana per 5 second. But playerbook gain +4 heals more that this item.
If u cast 1.5 sec spells then u gain 18.(3) mana per 5 second, that really more better than Rejuvenating Gem.
A trinket far ahead of its time in terms of itemization.
Just noticed this while hunting around the armoury, I agree with the above posts, not been to BWL before so i just gotta convince a group to come along with me!!
Still one of the best trinket ingame for the healers that are looking for a nice way to combine every stats in order to not lack in any specific healing stats..guess bwl isn't done everyday but just get a grp of 10/15 person and all the drakes can be done easily as long as you know the fight :)
As far as passive trinkets go it is still a king.
Redeemer's Alchemist Stone
is superior if you happen to be an alchemist and don't mind going through some potions and along with the
Memento of Tyrande
it forms the best combination for the dual purpose of mana regen and +healing.
But if you are not an alchemist (nor a priest as an
Earring of Soulful Meditation
, though triggered, may arguably be superior or at least equal to the Rejuvenating Gem) and are looking for regen and healing increase out of your trinkets, count yourself blessed to have one of these.
If you are not so fortunate you can look at the
Tome of Diabolic Remedy
. It has an effective +healing of 66 with the extra MP/5 but it is a triggered effect requiring activation once the cooldown is over. A second here or a second there decreases the overall effective +healing and the trinket only offers its +healing increase 1/6th of the time making it in my eyes less desirable for most situations but still a nice trinket.
As for me, I don't see myself unequipping mine until I make my way to Northrend.
Edit: As far as going back to BWL is concerned, it is just not likely at all to say the least to go back to try for one of these. The droprate aside, BWL offers logistical problems you don't find in other instances. My friends and I have cleared MC through Garr and downed Ony with 5 people with no problem but Razorgore, Vael, the surpression room... they all are going to cause a lot more headache without more bodies. So if you have 9 friends you can bully/convince into going with you each week to farm for this than yeah great, but unless you just happen to luck out on a random clear done for the hell of it the chances of snagging this at 70 are remote at best.
P.S. Even when I am balance this trinket never leaves my inventory and I don't mean just as a part of a healing set either, +damage and +regen trinkets aren't exactly prolific either.
This is a unique item, you can only have one :)
...Ebonroc, Firemaw and Flamegor (BWL Bosses).
Really an awesome item for healers :D
Actually, just in term of mana efficiency the order is:
druid = paladin > priest > shaman
Paladin's mana efficency is very good.
actually paladins FoL gets about 43% from +healing and their holy light gets 71%
Everyone who is this far in the game knows this is godly for both priests, druids and paladins. You can find arguments for different classes but the fact is it's really good for all 3. If you have dkp, bid on it. You are not stealing it from anyone. You got your dkp working for the guild, take this as reward if you want it.
Our guild is pretty liberate on what you can roll, even holy priests can roll on +dmg items allthough most dont. We have a wannabee shadowpriest with loads of +dmg and crit gear and allmost no manaregen. He is really gimbed in long fights as he is holy specced and allways working as a healer, not dps.
I would hate beeing in the same guild with you guys. Arguing over every single piece of loot and small details why just you should be allowed to get it. Grow up, please!
^This item is for ALLhealing classes. Why? just try to find a similar trinket.. u wont find any. thats the reason. there is no better reason.. nothing easier to understand. U DONT HAVE MUCH OF A CHOICE.If u heal u better heal with this lil baby in ur trinket slot, else ur a f****** noob
You know who gets this trink? Doesn't matter who "needs" or deserves it more. Any healer class with enough DKP gets it. Period. Next topic.
No healing class in WoW is necessarily better than any other in a raid. They all excel at different TYPES of healing.
Druids = Bomb/HOT healing with plenty of time to regen between, lacks mana-efficent "emergency" heals.
Pallies = duration healing due to low cost, but lacks HP/s to keep anyone up if they're really getting pounded on in a raid so can't attempt to solo heal a tank unlike resto droods or priests
Priests = Fast but mana-eficient heals for significant HP/s also has SHIELD for the best "ZOMG we're all gonna die" button in the game and POH for the only good full group heal in the game, longevity is wholly gear dependent due to no active regen spell so until late in MC they will OOM fairly often if trying to spam big heals.
Anyway, ALL of the classes here recieve the exact same benefit from this item: 19HP/s and 9 mana/5. Technically the Pallies benefit slightly more than others from the mana/5 due to lower cost spells but the difference is pretty low considering this is such a massive upgrade from every other healer trinket in the game.
Dropped for BFTH tonight of Chrommy. Record DKP but was worth it. Probably the only item from BWL I 'really' wanted :)
If u have the DKP and your a healer, spend it. Only thing I would say is I have a lot of regen gear so it adds to both my sets, heal & Regen. Open bid tbh :)
What do you guys think about this item in BC as compared to the other healing trinkets?
Essence of the martyr (
) has a bit more to heal, but its use is highly situational, as well as Ribbon of Sacrifice (
). For long fights, I would take Rejuvenating gem over any of these, as a flat mp5 bonus is better than +20 to heal and a healing boost every 2 minutes when you need to keep casting for 8 minutes or so.
Eye of Gruul (
) is probably better than this one, but hey, why not wear both. :)
However, what is better or worse depends a lot on your class, role in raid, gear, encounter... Its best to try and figure out whats best for you for each encounter.
the essence and ribbon are both really good. but, if you have one person in your raid wearing the ribbon its useful to put your own away for this
all in all its nice enough this is still rather close to some 70 epics
imo rejuv gem>eye of gruul
which is funny considering where each of the two come from
Got this on my first ebonroc run.
2 months since Burning Crusade launch and I've yet to see an overall better healing trinket.
mmmm....once I get this I will break over +900 healing...cant wait =)
I'm a druid and I'm totally in to +healing gear. Yesterday I got this beauty (which had been on my wish list for a long time) on our first Firemaw kill - and I'm damn happy about it! DKP ftw! ^^
have been farming bwl for a looooooooooong time and only saw it droping once and i see ppl who haven't been in bwl for more then 2 months with it QQ
If you have this, count yourself lucky. I also can't find something so nice in TBC. 66 + Healing and mp/5 on one item is really snazzy.
Can't even get a group that wants to farm it either since that's "old world"...
warrior item imo :)
I need it for mad Crusaderprocs hmm k?
SULLIWAN WILL GET IT AND NOT CHOULEMA NOR RAPID AHHARHHAR
as i'm a priest, this is for me the best trinket in the game. not only does it have a low drop rate but on the 3 occasions it has dropped for us,i've been out-dkp'ed every time
needless to say it's a popular trinket :D
Dropt from our first try Firemaw and me got it! I am sooo happy. :D
You all suck, I'm gonna ninja it and gquit
Cry! why BWL ! =(.. sickass nice trinket!
Fell out of Firemaw today and I now have +641 healing with this gem of a gem. :D Shame it's unique... ;)
Druid | Spirit Odyssey | EU-Emerald Dream
Just dropped tonight... bid all my dkp. But, besides ZHC, what's a healing (ie resto 0/13/38) druid to use that's better?
Very excited! Been on my wishlist for months and months... Unfortunatley it's gonna replace Mar'Li's eye, which is great for those long fights against bosses like Ebonroc (who dropped it btw)... or my Royal Seal of Eldre' Thalas. Still undecided. Guess it depends on the fight.. duhh
Fexana - nub 60 druid
Suramar - CRAZEDANARCHY
hunter trinket, I mean they do need to heal their pets...
Amazing trinket for healer types..
Err, I mean hunters, 'Cuz everythings for hunters. :p
I'm still using this at 70 since there is no trinket at 70 which has healing AND mana reg -.-'
I have been raiding bwl in classic for almost a full year. Saw it 3 times
