Easy to make ones you've been in Karazhan a couple of times, since Soul Essence drops from the mobs there. Comes very much in handy on bosses like "The Curator" in Karazhan.
These recipes drop in karazhan, so it's not that easy to get them.
Also, the gloves dissenchant into void crystals. Nice moneymaker!
Soulcloth Gloves Can be Used for Void Crystal Farming
Professions Req. : Enchanter, Tailor (or friends with these)
If you need several of these (like for Mongoose
) and do not want to spend 62 gold per Void Crystal or ninja epic items to DE, then a good Tailoring alternative is to craft (or have a tailor friend craft) Soulcloth Gloves
for the soul purpose of disenchanting them for the Void Crystal. (They do not sell for enough to justify selling them and buying Voids on my server.)
Soulcloth Gloves require:
5 Bolts of Soulcloth (5 Bolts takes 30 Netherweave and 40 Soul Essences )
6 Knothide Leather
4 Rune Thread
According to WoWHead.com's estimated Auction House buy out prices (which I calculated and listed above in brakets) the final cost would be about 75.8 gold to craft this, if you bought all of the mats.
HOWEVER: Netherweave is extremely easy to farm for or get from guildies; same with knothide; Soul Essences drop ALOT in Karazhan, and tailors are the only ones who can use them...most nice guildies are willing to give them to you for free or at a fraction of the AH price.
I would say the true cost of crafting the gloves is about 35-40 gold (buying about half the mats). Even cheaper if you farm mats and have a Karazhan raiding guild with good friends in it. If you have access to lots of Essences, its pretty much just a solo farming exercise.
After that, just DE them for a Void Crystal (and maybe even 2 Crystals). Repeat this little process untill you have as many as you need.

Although according to you you actually lose money from just buying them, on my server at least soul essence is a lot cheaper, and you also get tailoring exp :)
Any thought if these are actually some good to make and wear? Or just a nice DE item.
I buy these when they're cheaper than Void Crystals and I just disenchant them. And if I get lucky and it disenchants into 2 void crystals, my income doubles.
And people say enchanting is a money sink
This pattern turns yellow at 365. Just in case you were wondering.
natezomby great post, thanks a lotf or it.
Just one thing, for perfection, it's for the sole, not soul purpose. Not sure if you can edit:-)
these gloves sell particularly cheaply on many servers, probably because they are easy to make. seen them bagged for 12g.
Soulcloth Gloves - pattern (skill 355)
sold by either:
-Mathar G'ochar (horde)
Both Borto and Mathar sell the pattern for Soulcloth (skill 345):
, but it can also be purchased from Deynna (horde)
or Neii (alliance)
All limited supply, i dont know the cooldown.
I bought this pattern in order to get my Tailoring from 360 past 365.And Since I am a Holy Priest,I had no use for these gloves.I sold them in the SW AH for 37g each.So If your looking for something to get your tailoring up and make some money, these gloves are a great way to do it.
What is the rate for the 2-crystal proc, in people's experience? I know I've DEd at least a dozen of these without one.
with patch 2.4.2 void shatter lost its cooldown, crystal price went up, and these can be considered to be done for profit (especially on servers where 6 knothide leathers are cheaper than one bolt of soulcloth).
recommend skilling up with these.
The mats for the entire set are;
Bolts of Soulcloth
Or Item by item;
Bolt of Soulcloth
Bolt of Soulcloth
Bolt of Soulcloth
That's so great and all, but it's a buyable pattern you @(*&$@*!&%! Anyone can make it with enough skill in tailoring!
Papasito on Aerie Peak can make this...
Oh, on the HORDE side....
My blue gloves are better than this by far...
It is useful in some sense though, because it is a cheap arcane resist glove.
On Nathrezim this goes for as much as a 70 green (30g)
Considering how easy these are to make, they are still great for leveling despite the fact that they are an epic. Since Kara is being run constantly and the Soul Essences drop off just about every trash mob in there, I tend to see alot of them on the AH. Also, since the essences are only useful to a tailor crafting this set, you can often find them in large quantities for very cheap. Just recently, I bought 3 stacks of essences for 8g a stack on the AH. I made the gloves and turned around and sold them for 60g, which was considerable less than the price the other sellers had, so I might try raising the price next time and see what happens. Even at 60g, though, I still came out quite a bit ahead. It only takes 2 stacks of essences, less than 2 stacks of netherweave, and 6 leather to make this, so that's a tidy 40g profit. That's almost as much as you'd make selling your nether (assuming you're reasonable) and on top of that you're leveling your skill in the process.
was a quite good upgrade from Blue pvp gloves :)
Can craft on Lethon. Horde, whisper Alorod
Seriously, you can buy the pattern from Borto in Nagrand and buy the soul essences on the AH.
Better yet, look for the gloves on the AH - can often buy them for cheaper than the mats because people use this pattern to level tailoring.
Crafted 2x to get to 365 to enable me to craft the wich are BIS till phase 5, so even in the last patch you'll be using them as healer.
The Void Crystals sell for only 12 gold each (Phase 1 09/2021) in contrast to what the first comment claimed. Selling is more profitable that .
