There is a 2 day cooldown on creating this item, and it requires a Runed Eternium Rod (
) to make.
Requires Runed Adamantite Rod (
) as of 2.1
These things sell horribly. I've re-listed mine about 5 times at 10g less than two nexus crystals cost and they're still sitting there. They are free to list though, which is a bonus.
I've made two of them to try to level up my enchanting, but didn't get a skill-up either time. If you don't need these for a piece of armor, I wouldn't recommend making them.
whats the story with the +4 resist all? i assume that its +4 resist all magic and not really "all" including stun, fear, snare etc as it is not a unique gem this would be incredibly overpowered.
Any enchanter expecting any profit on this, forget about it. The two Void Crystals will certainly earn you more money.
For pvp however, this gem can be somewhat useful. Versus opponents without spell penetration (they do exist), you will notice partial resists once in a while which in the long run adds up. I suggest maybe adding two of these in some of your spare sockets if you have trouble versus casters (especially dotters).
Don't expect miracles but just having >0 resistance is always a plus. Anyone who has played a blood elf know what I'm talking about.
I got skill from this.
Pretty easy way to gain skill at 370+..
With 2.4 allowing enchanters to make LPS from Voids, the value of this gem is the same as the +3 resist one.
Would it be worth it for a lock to skill demon for the +70 resi buff from the felhunter and load up with these?
I calculated that you could get a grand total of +220 res all if you were a bloodelf and got your hands on the mystic sheen cloak.
At +4 resist I am underwhelmed with these gems.
You can get the same effect as 9 of these gems for the hydross fight with:
for the Solarian fight get:
Someone will probabl say "but you can have the gems and these items" and they will be right. But You can reequip a ring/necklace without destroying the previous one.
Simply put gem slots are more precious than bag slots.
I wouldn't pay more than two gold for this...
I don't know about this being useless, but I think you'd need a bunch of them to make it worth it. If every item you had had the largest number if gem slots available, and you filled them all with this, you could fairly easily achieve a resistance of over 200 (with buffs included), which gives an automatic 50% or so of resistance against all magic damage and effects. It has possibilities for pvp where people may be up against a variety of magical effects. I could see someone in an arena team loading up on this, since most people don't bother with resistances, and hence most casters don't think much about spell penetration. Perhaps a paladin, who's very hard to kill normally anyway, or a rogue who focuses on seeking and destroying any and all clothies could try this tactic. With a few pieces of resist gear, the rogue using this tactic might get to 350 resist in arcane and frost in preparation for magehunting (Polymorph THIS bizznatch!)
is this resist everything as in snare/root/stun/fear etc. or just things like nature/arcane/fire/ etc. ?
Looking at it it doesnt say unique so in theory, with all the socketed items it would be possible to have a full resist suit instead of different single resist suits.
3 sockets - 12 to all
3 sockets - 12 to all
and so on
figuring 8 inventory slots socketable, resist chant on cloak, necklace, rings, trinkets its feasable to have a nice bulk of all resists on one suit.
with this said it does cost alot and if your not farming the epics like old school MC then its not worth it but eventually if its true that its not unique you will see people with 150+ resists almost in everything.
Take a look at
. This one item, when socketed, counts as one of each of red, yellow and blue toward that total. So if you don't have a lot of slots in your gear, this thing can help you fulfill the requirements for some of the metagems.
I socketed two of these gems into my
Crest of the Sha'tar
and slapped Enchant Shield - Resistance on there for a grand total of 13 resist to all schools. I use this shield for all my basic resist tanking fights - first boss of serpentshrine lair, mana tombs...
It may only be 13 resist total, but with these gems, it keeps me from wearing one garbage green item so i can put on another piece of real tank gear.
One of these babies may not be the biggest, best gem you can get, but it's great for activating metas. Also, if you decided to do something like fill EVERY socket you had with one, then get the +7 seven resist all from Karazhan rep, +10 all to cloak, +5 all to shield (if you have a shield), and get as many sockets in your gear as possible, and throw +20 to whatever school annoys you the most onto your helm. You'd be a VERY annoying opponent for PvP.
Then imagine being a paladin/shaman with three available resistance spells, and have a priest hit you up with +70 Shadow Resist, and a druid with Gift of the wild. (I know they don't stack with other spells, but WILL Stack with these gems.)
I can guess that you'd get a pretty snazzy resistance to all magic, and avoid (average) one in five spells aimed your way, from any school but holy.
Personally, I think +resist all is better for PvP as you WILL encounter all kinds of magic.
EDIT: I neglected to mention this and the Prismatic version are the ONLY gems with resistance too, so like the above poster, good for resist tanking so you can ditch a PoS green.
But... that's a huge expenditure of cash, and debatable whether or not you'd be more effective using offensive-based gems.
Okey, some points / Summeries from previous posts why you should take this baby:
Counts as ALL Colors when you insert a Meta Gem.
Lets say you have 4 Sockets with these, that's 20 ALL resist, making you a *!@#$ against any caster you might encounter in PvP.
Costs 2 Void Crystals, they currently goes for 40g / each on my realm.
No Stats, what is going to make people take other gems is because this got no "real" stats, no stam, no AP, no Spell Damage....
Where do you get this enchant?
this is made by an enchanter and takes 2 void crystals to make.
on my server (frostmane) void crystals are going for around 30g a piece.
you'd prob see void sphere's on AH for 70-80g, maybe more.
I have lvled my enchanter from lvl 370 to 375 by making these. Lots of void avail now from farming Kara, so its easier to obtain them. This is just to let yu know, 375 is not a requirement to make them
4 resist all = Apply Aura: Mod Resistance (Spells)
How much would +4 to all resist stack up for a rogue against a mage or lock per say. Its only one but would it be worth it? Because once again...its only 4
Actually i have 5 of these+cloak+cloak enchant.
I have 37 resistances to all and 47 to nature.
Since im farming elementals for primals and doing lot of pvp i can say its very handy.
With totems i can up my resistances (+70 fire or nature or frost). When i drink resistance potion (+50 to all for 3 min) its even more. I'm alchemic so its no problem for me to create tons of these potions.
Maybe its not the best way to full your slots but its best for me- I can resist a lot.
Go, go Primals farmers and PvP players !
u can put 8xvoid sphere in your pvp gear
that is 32 to all resist
but u nerf lot of hp/ap/crit/spell dmg etc
i dont think this worth.
i think 4 all resist for a soket is crap comparing to other gems u can have specially if u are a JC and can use unique gems.
ok, get more than one kind of cloth recipe and trade so you get the kind you need 2 or 3 times as fast, then make the bop items.
Not only will you skill up your tailoring faster, but you'll have nothing better to do with the extra bops but DE for void crystals. I was saving them up for AH when i got the void sphere skill and realized i could crank out 6 of these for chanting skill ups too.
Could someone be so kind as to enlighten me, people mentioned several months earlier that it both required the 375 rod as well as having a long cooldown, it only requires an Adamantite Rod now and as this was obviously changed in a patch I was wondering what kind of cooldown it has now?
Also, can you level with these? I have a spare stack of Void Crystals and I was considering burning some levels as it is still yellow for me and is the cheapest recipe I have to grind.
Thank you to anyone who replies.
Let's make this easier.
Get runed adamantite rod enchant from vendor at 350.
Make runed adamantite rod.
Make a cheap Void Sphere (from two void crystals) all the way up to skill 375.
IT IS A 48 HOUR COOLDOWN!
We good now? It's slow but cheap. This is a good thing. Damn people....
Nice for raising resists equally. I own the
at 64. Yes, I'm crazy. But, hey, every resistance point counts with 5 points in magic absorption.
If you're picky like me and always want to get the socket bonus.. you can always just throw this in where you dont want other things to go.. considering these only go for 2g on my server lol (nobody likes resist)..
and you could argue '4 resistance is so unnoticable' .. but so is 7 spell damage or w/e, you arent really going to notice it
oh yeh.. if you have the arcane mage ability with these, you can get a nice bit of mana back after a resist.. :D
I made a resist set out of my outdated socketables and I get back 5% mana(about 500) I throw mana shield and grind through spell mobs and NEVER stop! I sometimes aggro a spell caster and have him follow me when I grind on regular mobs near by. I just wish you could duel in instances and have a buddy throw rank 1 fireballs at me while I throw the expensive stuff at the boss!
does anybody know exactly how points of resist actually translate into % chance to resist and damage reduction?
Most I can think of coming up with would be 147 resist to all schools if you had as many sockets possible socketed with this.
3 sockets from helm
2 sockets from shoulder
2 sockets from neck
1 socket from back
3 sockets from chest
2 sockets from wrist
3 sockets from hands
2 sockets from waist
3 sockets from legs
2 sockets from feet
1 socket per ring
1 socket from range
2 sockets from shield
2 sockets from weapon
Comes out to 120 total resist if you had this socketed in all.
then you get:
+5 resist to shield
+7 resist to cloak
+7 resist to shoulder
+8 resist to helm
and if you wish you can get a resist to leggings +8 to whatever school you wish outside of holy of course <3 playing a pally.
Thats not to mention any buffs...
