I haven't personally tested this, but it seems like these potions would make the Terestian Illhoof (
) encounter in Karazhan significantly easier. Periodically, Illhoof sacrifices a random raid member in demonic chains, which do about 1-2k DPS in shadow damage. My guild currently thinks that any healing taken while being sacrificed also heals Illhoof (after being multiplied by some large number). Others think that any damage the demonic chains do heal the boss. Either way, it seems that having every raid member under the effect of this potion at the beginning of the encounter will decrease the healing Illhoof takes, and help your raid down him before your healers run out of mana.
Can anyone confirm that this works?
The Demonic Chain damages the sacrificed member, and the damage he takes heals the boss. You don't need potions, just overheal the sacrificed guy and take down the Chain ASAP. The "/target demon" targets the chain, it is very useful.
This is learned from a drop from Shadow Council Warlocks, in SMV. Wowhead has not seen the drop.
you can view who can craft this on your realm or add yourself as a crafter;
a big edge against warlocks.
Much easier to make than the greater shadow pot, mote of shadow drop is pretty good. Runnin Naxx, Kazzak gonna be much cheaper now.
Shadowmoon Vally, Legion Hold
Drops off "Shadow Council Warlock"
Took me a day to get the drop, Good Luck!
...of dead and bloodied warlocks.
Of all the Major ___ Protection Potions, this one's the only one that's even close to worth making, seeing as (on Thrall at least) Primal Shadows can be had for 1-2g each. Compare this to the price of a Primal Air (35g), Primal Fire (25g) or even Primal Life (8g) and you see why the other ones aren't even worth learning...
As of patch 2.1.0 to quote Blizzard.
"Elemental Absorption" potions now have a 2 minute duration rather than the 60 min duration they used to have.
FINALY! after 2 days of farming and 150g worth of greys and greens it finaly droped =) i so happy now
I got it after 13 kills, pretty smooth, ^_^
yes it does drop off the warlock inside Legion Hold
i lost count after 220
This one was much easier than the Arcane and Holy equivalents. It took 11 kills of warlocks in Legion hold to get the Fel Strength Potion recipe and the next drop was the Major Shadow Protection potion.
I'd say it only took an hour and a half for it to drop lol.
OMG ENFEEBLE AND I DIDN'T RUN OUT FAST ENOUGH
just hope you don't get screwed and have it absorb less than 3k
Great cords i farmed for about an hour and nada, then did some questing and came back and bam 5 kills later it dropped for me! next up arcane protection potion.
Will this absorb Baron's shadow bolts in Stratholme. Would help me farm for the mount if so. I am gonna try it out regardless, just asking too.
Since you have to make 5 at a time, can these things even proc for potion masters? O_o
吸收2800 to 4000点暗影伤害，持续2 min。
