IMO, mats like these should not be changed until the patch actually goes live, because sometimes people alt+tab out just to look up some mats to buy. No one likes to waste their cash.

For the horde. You can buy the recipe in Thunderlord Stronghold. The NPC's name Daga Ramba. He is a potion vendor. Thunderlord Stronghold is in Blade's Edge Mountains. There is a cooldown time for the purchase. I am not sure how long it takes the recipe to spawn. Coord - 51,57

Wow. You guys forced me to make an account just to comment here. Don't slam a guy for saying what makes sense. it totally SUCKS having to buy something thats outrageously overpriced in the AH when its a vendor item. That is the kind of thing you do your damndest to do to an ally/horde to piss them off, not your fellow faction.

Its all about the money guys. Its quite interesting to see how important money is in this game, people will do anything to make highest profit from little work. There are some people out there who will pay many time more vendor value because they can't be screwed waiting around. Why? because they are trading money for time, so instead of waiting around they pay money so they have someone else buying it.

Everyone is blaming the traders for taking all of the limited supply, but there is a definite demand of lazy ppl who wont go all the way to the vendor to buy it, and prefer to pay top dollar in the comfort of the ah.

I'm one of the ones that paid 10g for this 5g item. Why? Because I can't get to the vendor yet, and I wanted to be able to make this now.

In my younger days I've made a few gold auctioning the skillup books for first aid and cooking. I will admit to auctioning a second frost oil recipe, but I would never camp the guy for one to sell.

It does help the lower level people, as long as the markup is reasonable.

This recipe has a slightly longer respawn than the major dreamless sleep/major defense potion recipes that Daga Ramba carries. I think it was around 15-20 minutes for me.

20g in the AH for this recipe? No thanks! I'm heading to the damned place myself to pick it up. I might have paid 10g for it, but a 15gold profit when the seller has clearly more than one recipe up? Disgusting!

If I ever resell a recipe that is vendor bought I charge an extra 2g at the least. I try to leave the limited purchase ones alone. They seriously need to start making them BoP or only Alchemists can purchase these recipes.

20g is 2 dailies
yeah its not worth it IMO, but i can see how people would pay 20g for a recipe, esp considering alot of recipe's are drops, and when your scanning the ah you cant tell which are vendor and which are drops. Also i can probably do dailies faster then looking up a pattern, finding out if its a vendor or drop, if its a farmable drop or random world drop. Multiply by 5-6 pats when recently leveled alch - and ~20 for a useful recipe isnt unreasonable.
If you think its such a bad deal, why not grab the recipe yourself and AH it for less, remember your also paying for someone elses time, if i can farm 150g/hour (IE farming primals/ore/herbs/skins etc) then 6 mins (checking vendor) is worth 15g

All white patterns are purchased from vendors. Its a dead give away.

None of the comments mention that this recipe is BOP somehow, which means it must become bind on equip in a later patch than Classic is at currently. For now though, 100% Bind On Pickup, do not try to mail it to your alt, it is not on the AH.

Looks like in Classic TBC they fixed this and made it soulbound. I figured this out after already buying it and trying to send it to my alchemist.
