These are godly for Warlocks. Dmg and Stamina, you really can't ask for much more. It's arguable if this gem or the +12 stamina gem are better for pvp. Either choice is good, if you think are low on HP and need more then go with the +12 stamina, otherwise stick with the dmg and stamina.
Certainly a good gem for PvP but I prefer 12 stam personally, but if you are serious about PvE just use the 9 damage gems (runed living ruby)
Like said above this is a great gem for warlocks.
It's also good for protection paladins, as it boosts both your health and threat generation.
If you're cheap, Glowing Shadow Draenite is a small downgrade for less cost, you lose 1 Spell Damage and 2 Stamina
Glowing Shadow Draenite (
Best thing you can get for a Tankadit to socked Red. Since Paladins don't benefit from STR/AP/AGI THAT much as like Warriors or Druids (Druids need Agi to Dodge, Warriors need STR, that increse trough talents and affect Shield Slam a lot).
the epic versions of this are better by +1 spell damage:
- nightbane quest
- Heroic black morass
The infused amethyst is from a non repeatable quest and is bop, so you can only have 1.
As of 2.4, all heroic epic gems are no longer unique, so you can have as many glowing tanzanites as you want
In other words, if you arent a jewelcrafter and dont like spending 30g+ to get one glowing nightseye, you now have the other option of grinding heroic bm.
Personally i need badges and keepers of time rep, and need to save up my gold, so i would rather just do heroic bm a few times.
But then again, +1 spell damage difference isnt that great.
So to put it simply:
If you plan to use glowing tanzanite, then you will get badges and rep during the process, but it takes time. You can equip more than one, so you will have a tiny bit more +spell damage than using glowing nightseye.
If you plan to use glowing nightseye, then prepare to use 30g or more per gem (unless you can provide your own gems from mining/prospecting), and a tiny bit less spell damage than if you use glowing tanzanite.
In 2.4 heroic gems will no longer be unique-equiped, so it may prove usefull to farm it...
not bad not bad... got 6 of these in my gear atm... not too expencive
I am a Warlock and this is my Favorite Gem by far. I currently have them in my whole Shadoweave set.
If you compare socketing 2 gems of this kind to socketing a "Runed Living Ruby" (
) and a "Solid Star of Elune" (
), this one turns out to be superior as it adds 1 additional point of damage. That might be marginal, but if you're into arena battles and have learned jewelcrafting, you could in fact socket your whole gear with those gems which comes in handy due to the fact that you only need to buy one jc recipe :P
