This gem has good synergy with the Halaa reward legs. Plop one of these suckers into the slot for 12 resilience.
Whether it's worth the investment is another question...
This gem looks like the excuse to keep people PvPing in Halaa. Having something to look forward to is always nice even beyond just the fun of PvP.
Still underwhelming though.
A fellow PVPer ingame has just informed me that it does indeed count as 10 Resilience RATING.
Not 10 Resilience (394 Rating)
Sorry, not a bugged Godlike gem - not particuarly worth the 500 tokens, IMO.
Then again, I have no use for tokens. Discarded atleast 400 of them so far.
Sooo many people in this thread are wrong. Including me. Even the early posts that were correct kind of got lucky.
Punish with your clicks people. Clear this page up and make it helpful ;)
Uber-nerf to cost incoming....
As of next patch (April 2007) the cost of this is reduced to 100 tokens.
What on earth I'm going to do with the 300 I have left over I'm not sure. Just do NOT buy this gem before cost comes down. Don't know if it's considered 'used' once you socket it and can therefore buy another one, but we'll see.
At the new cost of 100 tokens, this seems like a pretty good buy. Throw this in one of the PvP Necklaces and you get +24 or +25 Resilience rating from a neck piece.
Not too shabby.
does anyone know if a boe item become soulbound when socketed with a bop gem? im guessing it would, but has anyone tested this?
Just to clarify, I bought this in 2.1 on the live servers.
It costs 100 tokens and is "Unique-Equipped" on the live realm
Easy farmable with a Hordie/Allliance friend ^^ (opposite faction)
They do now:
Sublime Mystic Dawnstone
Binds when picked up
+10 Resilience Rating
"Matches a Yellow Socket."
Noob`ish question here....
wth is Resilience... what is it good for and why is it on so many of the epics out there.. i've seen it so many times.. but no one can explain it to me.. it seems to be important but lacks definition..i've checked the spells of paladins and warlocks, but the only thing i have gathered from them is that this
is the ability to "
Is there any other way to get these than from the quartermasters in Halaa? Can it be made by Jewelcrafters, for example?
completely worth putting on something like the halaa leggings. 29 resilence on one piece is awesome. 500 halaa tokens seems intimidating, but make start a raid on halaa and it'll go up quick if it keeps getting attacked. plus, after you get the epic mount and leggings/belt theres not much else to spend those tokens on. took me three days of not letting alliance touch halaa, along with some pvping friends on vent.
Because in PvP many classes are "crit reliant." Elemental shamans, moonkin druids, destruction warlocks, arcane mages, frost mages, all these specs get an increase damage on crits. Removing their chance to crit is twice as painful.
Also, there's alot of talents that proc when you crit. iLOTP. Flurry. Vengeance. Many more. You're reducing the chance of these things proccing when you lower their crit rate.
For the person comparing crit to resilience in PvP as a rogue: you do no DPS when you're dead. And yes, you will be targeted in arena PvP, so you need the gear to survive long enough for a heal.
I'm not saying resilience is the most important stat. I'm saying there's a reason why it's found all over PvP armor and why a gem like this is so expensive. Achieve a balance and you will do well.
I would kill for this gem in my pvp gear, I've taken to stacking resilience/stamina now and my life expectancy has gone WAY up. I'm sitting quite happily on 133 resilience atm.
Also there's an unconfirmed rumour that this gem will cost 100 tokens instead of 500.
It'll take me a loooong time to farm that many, better off doing bg's and getting stuff I need more than +10 resilence. I'll work on getting this when I get every other single item i need first.
Stamina will help you in all situations, on classes that crit, and on classes that don't rely on crits.
Resilence does not affect the following: Damage over times, and channeled spells. Every single class in the game has a dot, a bleed effect, a channeled spell that they use consistently in pvp. Priests/Warlocks will definately have the upper hand on players that stack resilience over players that opted for stamina. Even feral druids have a nasty bleed effect.
i think ressilence is nice,,
i got a lvl 70moonkin whit very nice gear, 23,5%crit as moonkin and 809spell dmg.
well. yestoday i duelled a mage, whit gladiator staff and 3of the gladiator set. (quite high resilence) it wanted to see my dammage, i started to Wrath/starfire spam, i critted 1time on like 7-10 spells.. :S, that suxx,, i duelled a again, a bit more lucky there,, but again 2crits out of 10spells.. = SUXX...
(as moonkin u get 4%+ to wrath and starfire and 10% to moonfire, and it feels like i crit alot more than 30%..)
now that this is 100 marks, i'll probably get a few and get my pvp gear up to speed so i can use them.
Unique - equipped means what can some1 explain in details please . Can i put more of those stones on leggings that got 2x scoket spots ? or 1 stone per socket on a item ? Or only one stone on a item and i cant put anymore on any part of my gear? Please anwer me :)
I believe Blizz changed it so this gem is much easier to obtain now. It's now only 100 Halaa tokens instead of the old 500, which is, needless to say, a significant difference.
Next point. Imo, resilence is a stat that is strictly reserved for pvp, (except for maybe feral druid tanking). I'm a priest on blackrock that has 300 resilience atm, and this is HUGE in pvp/arena. 300 is about a 7% reduced chance to being crit, but what's even more important is the fact that when you DO get crit, it reduces the damage intake by 15%. Being a healbot in arena makes myself a constant subject to a beatdown. Being able to fufill my duties while having rogues/feral druids/warriors/ mages....pretty much any burst dps class is key for survival, which in the end result, will lead to winning. My aim in the next 2 weeks is 400 resilience, which is 20% damage reduction on crit. Do the math. WArrior mortal strikes you for 1500, while you have 400 resilience. Guess what? you just dodged 500 dmg.
Nicobee - Blackrock
it's actually quite simple, it's for PvP.
Believe me, the chance to reduce any critical strike damage is wonderful. You can still get crit if you have resillience. It's just taking off your opponents crit % when he's targeting you, and reducing the damage you take if he does manage to crit you.
I don't see the point of this giant fight about it.
One or two of these gems throughout your Gladiator set wouldn't be bad, there's enough HP on the set if you have a good healer in your team, you do not need to stam stack.
- Forloop, Wildhammer PvP
this may have already been asked/stated but i see the gem is unique-equipped, does this mean i cant have more then 1 on any piece of gear, or i couldnt have more than 1 on one piece of armor?
Between all of your armor you can only have one of these. So I suggest putting it on a PvP piece obviously. It may have some tank value but once they get their defense up to the level they need they usually just spam their gear with +12stam gems.
This is unique-equipped! (thott doesn't say that, and I think it's very important to know^^)
if u do arenea with a healer which u most probably do resileince is much better cause ur hp drop alot slower
