It seems Blizz want us to have a number of different Relics in our bags at all times.
The old idols were designed to act as around 3 points of talents. The new model seems designed to have one idol improve one spell/ability.
Its going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I just hope I don't need to carry around 5 idols.
when they say periodic healing does that mean +88 on each tick of lifebloom?
if it does then thats pretty crazy
Just won this item last night in Shadow Lab. Based on my tests, it seems to add +8-9 to each tick of Lifebloom.
In my opinion, that makes the idol fairly underwhelming. I do, however, feel this is one of the best non-epic resto idols sadly. If you do not have Idol of Health or Longevity from the pre-BC days and you haven't gotten your hands on one of the new epic BC idols, this is probably your best bet for healing.
Because this idol only applies to the HoT part of Lifebloom, isnt it equivalent to ~176 +healing on that component? (unless you don't get 50% to the HoT and 50% to the bomb heal)
I think it's great because Life Bloom is something you want to keep rolling on tanks and the more it ticks for the better. I will be replacing my Rej Idol for this one when it drops.
I have both this idol and the rejuvenation one:
Since I use both spells regularly it's a tough choice for me as to which one to use with my healing gear.
I'm leaning towards this because it will give me the equivalent of about +222 healing because of the lifebloom stacking vs. a total of +86 for the other. Can someone confirm if this is correct?
is a much better choice if you have swiftmend because if you do rejuvination let it tick a few youll get the increased healing from the idol
+ when you actually swiftmend you should get that increased healing again because swiftmend takes a full rejuv no matter how far through you are.
while Swiftmend has no effect on lifebloom
Idol of the Emerald Queen will only work on ticks of lifebloom and not get any extra benefit
so if your balance or feral or even resto without swiftmend for some reason
Idol of the Emerald Queen will be better but with swiftmend the rejuv idol is much better put to good use imo
Confirmed that it does stack with each application of life bloom. I tested it in tanking gear and got these numbers:
46 , 91 , 136
When I tried stacking Lifebloom with the idol on, I got:
52 , 104 , 156
So thats ~20 healing per tick of Lifebloom once you have it stacked up.
What you do with this idol is roll a Lifebloom till it is 3 stacks then put on Idol of the Avian Heart or Harold's Rejuvenating Broach.
For example, with +973 healing a single Lifebloom ticks for about 116, stacking a second Lifebloom increases the tick to only about 155.
All Lifebloom stacks now receive your +Healing. Previously only the first did.
Thus, using the numbers above, stacking a second Lifebloom would now increase the tick to 232.
About your big discussion about what idol is the better, u cant live without any of them, and u dont have to :)
Simply make an Macro like:
/equip (The given idol)
/castsequence (The Spell being buffed by the idol)
and BAM! u got yourself an improvement on your healing on about ~9%
remember, changing your idol(or weapon) in or outside of combat activates GCD and means you cant cast anything within 1.5 secs. so DarkHuntah's macro sucks.
having looked at all the idols available i believe this would be the best idol for a healing druid in pve because a rolling lifebloom is the most common way of keeping a tank up and thus, this will help with that. the gladiator idols are quite good for pvp but since you dont let it bloom so much in pve its not as good as this one.
This idol is used by Marilyn, the primary druid healer of Nihilum. I do agree they should add a badge item or a drop to replace this, as it looks odd that the best druid healers are going around with a level 68 blue. Not that it's a bad idol or anything, just that it should either be epic, or have an improved epic equivalent.
And to what Halammar said:
''1) During most raid boss-fights you only roll 1 lifebloom and use the rest of your cooldowns on rej/swiftmend/regrowth/raidheal.''
That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Lifebloom is the most efficient spell a Druid has, it has incredibly low threat, it's healing is great, and it is probably my favourite healing spell in all of WoW. Go and read
Nabterayl's great guide
in the Druid forums.
Edit: Added the link and fixed spelling :)
Edit again: This has nothing but factual information. Please don't needlessly downrate
This thing rocks. Makes my lifebloom heal for 150+ a tick. woot.

Strangely enough I had the impression that the ticks went down (!) as soon as I equipped this item :/
I have to try that again tonight.
IMHO this thing is probably the best resto trinket available. The epic +125 to HT is okay, but in the time you cast one HT I can cast 2 Lifeblooms and be targetting a third.
Does anyone know if this is 88 per stack, or if it just affects the first one? Even so this idol would make my lifebloom around 25hp/mana on the first application!
The Healbonus is more or less spread evenly over all ticks of the spell. So it's kinda nice, but not that strong as one might think. :-/
The +88 applies only to the periodic healing, before the "big heal" at the end. And Lifebloom gets only about 46% of bonus healing applied to the periodic portion (and about 46% is also applied to the "big heal" at the end). This means that the trinket adds about +41 healing to each cast of Lifebloom. If you keep Lifebloom on the target at the 3-stack level that means you'll get about +123 healing every 7 seconds.
Let's compare it to Harold's Rejuvenating Broach
which is +86 to Rejuvenation. Rejuvenation gets 80% of that, which is about +69. 69 per cast is more than 41 per cast. HOWEVER, once you have 3 stacks of lifebloom going, the Idol of the Emerald Queen will provide 123 per cast.
So it depends on how you use Lifebloom. If you're casting it once per target and allowing it to discharge its big heal before recasting it, then you are probably better off with Harold's Rejuvenating Broach. On the other hand, if you are keeping Lifebloom stacks going you are probably better off with the Idol of the Emerald Queen.
FWIW, I have both but usually have Harold's Rejuvenating Broach equipped. Remember that you can swap these idols during combat, although doing so triggers a 1.5sec global cooldown.
Actually you are incorrect in one assumption. Normally spells like Lifebloom and Rejuv get 46% and 80% of +healing spells respectively. But with spell-specific items, such as this and Harold's Rejuvenating Broach, the highest rank of each spell recieves the amount of +healing quoted by the item. That is, Harold's Rejuv Broach does indeed add 86 healing to rejuv rank 13 over the duration of the spell. This idol would do the same for Lifebloom. Thus, this idol adds roughly 12.6 hp per tick of lifebloom.
So now lets compare the two idols:
To get +86 healing to rejuv you would usually need +108 healing since rejuv gets 80% of the +healing from any normal item.
To get 88 healing on the periodic effect of lifebloom, you would need +191 healing since the periodic part of lifebloom only receives 46% of the +healing from any normal item.
Since they both add almost exactly the same amount of total healing, the net effect is equal assuming Lifebloom and Rejuv are used equally often. However, clearly this idol gives you more bang for your buck since it is a better bargain for +healing spells.
Lifebloom also stacks up to three times, so with 3 lifeblooms, suddenly this is increasing each tick of lifebloom by 38 hp. This equals out to 265 hp for a triple-stacked lifebloom that would not have been there otherwise.
Given the choice between the two, this one wins hands down IMO.
Now I just need to get one...
Yes this does stack with each lifebloom applied and therefore makes this a better choice than say
Idol of Perseverence
which would obiously not benefit from the stack.
Obviously if you tend not to stack then this is not the case and you lose out on 17 +healing. However, given the amount of +healing gear you should have this is no great loss. I am not going to QQ about losing 17 +healing when the bloom is around 2k. Much better to equip this and get a nice +88 on each stack.
Just got this idol, and tested it. I conclude that this Idol gives 7 extra healing per tick per stack. This means that stacking your Lifebloom once gives an total of 7*6=42 healing (6 ticks). Twice 2*7*6=84 healing. And 3 times 3*7*6=126 healing.
Jilian lvl 70 resto druid
Now which one would you use ?
Idol of the Raven Goddess (
) or this one?
And which one in which situations?
It adds 7 healing per Lifebloom tick, 22 if stacked thrice.
Harold's Rejuvenating Broach adds 22 per Rejuvenation tick.
Over the duration of 12 seconds, you get roughly 88 additional healing if you take Harold's. (12 seconds = duration of Rejuvenation)
If you just stack Lifebloom once but recast it after 6 seconds, you get like 42 healing within the first 6 seconds and 84 within the latter 6 seconds, which adds up to 126.
If you let it end after 7 seconds and recast it immediately, you get like... 11 ticks of Lifebloom (one stack), which results in almost as much additional healing as you would get if you take Harold's.
But... If you keep Lifebloom 3 stacked all the time, you get 12 ticks, each one granting 22 additional healing (tested it, should be 21 but... meh :))
That's.. 264 extra healing!
always: 7,33 extra Healing per Second
1 stack: 6,42 hps (recasting it immediately after the final bloom)
3 stack: 22 more Healing per Second.
I have been raiding with this trinket for quiet a while now and i dont believe there is a better trinket in the game for raw healing output.
This new heroic badge Idol seemed like an upgrade at first, but when i really think about it, i dont need it. I NEVER oom in 25 mans, so it may look good on paper, but in 25 man raiding you seem to have more mana then you can use.
Lifebloom should be the main spell in ANY resto druids arsonal, and this idol gives you the most healing output, imo.
Still kinda embarrasing to be wearing a lvl 68 blue in ssc and tk...
What is better, this idol or the ones you can get form pvp/arena that increases the final bloom by 87/105/116? (season 1/2/3 respectively)
I can see why this one would be more valuable in pve when you always have time to stack but do you think it's a different story for use in BG and Arena?
been in shadowlab just for this idol for 10+ maybe 15 runs now.. never seen it. and it says its the highest droprate of blue items too. wtf
