~20% spell haste, 15% proc chance.
I just LOVE this trinket. 20% off the cast time means 2 second greater heals (with talents) or 1,2 flash heals. The nice boost to +healing aint too shabby either.
One thing wonders me though: Is it only when a healing spell is cast, or when a healing spell heals? Naturally, i dont belive for a second that a renew tick can proc this, but what about a prayer of mending jump? Currious..
Anyways, the procrate for this is about 15% according to Thottbot - so this trinket is a must if you want to heal :D
Just figure a paladin spamming Flash of Light -.-
just picked this up as a druid, but my main heals are rejuv and lifebloom, and neither seem to proc it - this is definately one for the priests/shamans/paladins imo.
Might work with a nature's grace healing spec i guess.
My favorite healing trinket in the game. It's going to be very, very hard to replace.
It changes a 2.5 cast heal to a 1.9 heal, and it procs *a lot*, about 2-3 times on a boss fight.
I can verify that Athinira is correct, I regularly spam Flash of Light with this equipped, and the global cooldown is never a factor. One second FoL with 20% chance to crit is unbeatable!
My redemption spell usually takes 10 seconds to cast, and with this proc it takes it down to 7.76 seconds, showing about a 22.4% decrease in cast time overall.
I am rather disappointed with this trinket. It procs very rarely (not even close to 15%) and it will not proc back to back. It seems to have a cool down period between procs.
I am having a hard time deciding to wear between this or Heavenly Inspiration or Osh'gun Relic. My other healing trinket is the Lower City Prayerbook.
This is from a resto shaman point of view btw.
I (priest, 70), read the comments and decided to try it out. :)
500 casts (for testing purposes, I used flash heal rank 1), exactly 20 procs. 20/500 = 0.04 = 4% proc rate. For some reason I got exactly two procs within every interval of 50 casts. Maybe a coinsidence, maybe not. I hate maths so I can't tell whether or not this result would be statistically significant, but considering the fairly large sample of 500 casts I dare say that proc rate is somewhere around 5%.
It does NOT proc from instant casts - or at least I got no proc from 200 renews casted.
Considering the low proc rate and the fact it doesn't proc from instant casts + the "short" six seconds you benefit from the increased casting speed, I am gonna stick with Bangle of Enless Blessings and Oshu'gun Relic. Provided I'd switch out the latter, I'd go with Lower City Prayerbook rather than this BM one.
I just acquired this trinket and it seems to give only 3 sec of spell haste when it procs. Can someone else confirm this.
For Druids: Hots do not proc this, nor does the end heal of lifebloom, but Regrowth, Healing Touch, and Swiftmend will.
As of 2.0.10:
Proc rate is 10% (data mined info from the trinket)
@lvl 70 320 haste rating is ~30.44% casting speed. (Hallithron came up with 30.48%)
I've had this proc while in Spirit of Redemption form before, which is nice and handy as it allows more heals to be got off in the time. Though naturally youd prefer not to be dead ;)
As of 2.1, this procs from Lifebloom and Rejuvenation, so I believe it is safe to assume it will proc off of all instant HoTs.
The proc rate is pretty nice. Currently in Slave Pens, it procs once or twice per pull. As a balance/resto hybrid, I'm finding it really nice combined with Nature's Grace. However, Tree of Life druids will probably find this a bit less helpful, regardless, since they will mostly be spamming HoTs that are already instant. If you pick it up before you hit Revered with Lower City, great! Otherwise, take the Prayerbook(s). :)
Absolutely amazing trinket for a PvP resto druid after the patch.
Resto druids have no "flash heal," and rely on many instant cast HOTs along with swiftmend, which heal for quite a bit, but lack the burst healing of other classes' heals.
NS helps to alleviate this, but that's only once every 3 minutes.
2 second regrowth is often too slow to get off in PvP, where a mage has counterspell ready. Faking a cast sometimes works, but it often doesn't.
With this trinket, a druid can spam instants, and use regrowth when this procs. This might also synergize well with the Mystical Skyfire Diamond (
), but I personally prefer a Powerful Earthstorm Diamond (
) for PvP.
When this procs, regrowth is roughly a 1.4 second cast, which is often fast enough to use in arena while out of LOS. Regrowth is a little too slow, but it's perfect with this.
For a holy paladin with the t4 or5, whichever gives the holy light cast time reduce, can make holy go down to a second cast. Take note of the following calculations:
30% x 2.5 = .75 cast time reduction
t4-5 set bonus = .25 cast time reduction
Light's Grace = .5 cast time reduction
.5 + .25 + .75 = 1.5 second reduction to Holy light
during this proc, with the tier set bonus and light's grace, you could cast holy in 1 second timing for the next 6 seconds.
Anyone know if the proc per Xtime was changed in 2.1 and what exactly it is? From the above posts it seems to be 1pp25seconds or 2pp50seconds.
If your a holy paladin get this trinket, end of story. All our heals are direct heals, which means all our heals have a chance to increase our spell haste rating
With a recent patch changing spell haste rating. This trinket has lost some of its benefit. It use to be 30% now it is 15% haste. 21 rating = 1% haste now. 320/21 = 15.23.
The Spell-Damage Version of this trinket:
It seems to me that something has been changed about this item. I have not yet seen Light's Grace proc when the scarab's "focus" buff is gained. This leads me to believe that the 2 do not stack.
Just a thought. Any restoration shamans out there with this had it proc from your Healing Stream Totem?
I've been testing this recently. I've read a couple different posts and the most recent one above cited spell haste increased speed by 1% per 21 spell haste. After proccing this trinket and moving over the tooltip for the spells, I find my 1.5s Flash to fall to 1.3s and my 2.5s GHeal fall to 2.17s. This gives way to my level 70 Priest gaining 1% casting speed per 24 haste rating.
Discussions of the proc rate aside, in simple terms I don't find this trinket particularly useful when I'm reactive healing. In standard 5-mans the 15% chance of haste combined with "will I need to heal again in the next 6 seconds?" just doesn't coincide that much.
However this trinket is absolutely **brilliant** when I'm pre-emptively spamming heals in a raid situation. I highly recommend it to anyone main healing a tank in raids, it can make the world of difference.
Not every trinket is good for everything, and this is definitely one for raiders.
This does not proc on Vamp embrace heals QQ
This trinket for a Priest is probably one of the best you can get pre-raiding.
With +70 healing, it is up there, right next to the Lower City Prayerbook, which is arguably better/worse.
This is a very nice trinket to pair with Lower City Prayerbook pre-kara.
Pre-Kara, the +70 passive healing is reason enough to get it. I'm not a fan of the trinkets where you have to use them, with passive, it's just one less thing to think about. The 320 spell haste proc is rather nice too, it is only 6seconds but considering how many times you'll be casting spells as a healer in raids, you'll find it proc'ing often enough.
I've got it on my priest and love it. That 0.3 seconds (rounded off) off the normal 2.5s gHeal cast makes the difference at times and shouldn't be underestimated.
this might seem a bit of a stupid question but does it proc from mend pet?
the reason i ask is because it may be a cheaper way of getting the ghost wolf pet
There is a castbar mod, called quartz, that actually measures the delay from the server, and shows it as a bar reaching towards the start fro mthe end, with the milisecond delay in small writing. Basicaly, when your cast hits the start of that bar, and not the end of the full bar, your cast is done.
makes it much beter for chaining fast casts more rapidly.
I imagine it would proc of mend pet but how do you propose on casting mend pet when you don't have an active pet out? (Given you can't in order to train a new one, of course)
- In response to Boobinoon
In fact yes it does procc from mend pet. Took it one day (for vendoring after roll etc) cause we had no enchanter to de and bla bla.. and at the way to vendor i decided to try it for fun, and yeah it does
mend pet is still instant so doesnt make sence :P
the tooltip states it increases your spell haste rating. not simply "healing spell haste rating" (if there is such a thing). meaning it seems to be possible to proc it off mend pet and use the haste gained on any of your "spells" (aimed shot?). havent tested it tho.
If anyone is curious, this proc does not stack with
, they only refresh the duration of each other.
Since the GCD can be reduced to a minimum of 1.0 sec (starting in patch 2.4) with spell haste, this item has gained considerable value for some classes.
For anyone wondering, this will not go into effect until 2.4 - which isn't out on the PTR yet, so it will still be a few months.
anyone know what the hidden cooldown on this trinket is? i'm assuming there is one
@ Athinira where did u get that UI in youre pally's picture?! lol /want
Im a pally and i've tried to get this one a lot of times (more than 20) and no luck.
Yesterday in gruul i saw 2 poorly geared pallys with this trinket healing as much as (or even more than) 2 T4/ZA geared pallys without it.
I know there can be skills of the healers involved, but there were 2 of each, and i was wondering if its better this trinket than any other one for pallys, and if it makes a real improvement in healing compared for example to the use of
which is what i'm wearing now.
So if anyone has tested this trinket compared to the others, which one is better?
Thank you in advance! :)
Since 2.4 Patch, this trinket has been proccing a lot more than previous patch. Has this trinket's proc chance been increased in 2.4 patch?
At least it feels like it.
Really nice to have by the way.
320 Haste rating in almost every 3-5 minutes so far.
Scarab over the Ribbon every day of the week. just put the scarab in combination with the Essence and you're set.
Theres different trinkets you can get from ZA and other places that you use for sertain area's and raid situations. Mp5 trinkets, crit trinkets and just flat out +healing trinkets for a pally, just like any other piece of your gear.
this trinket is probably the best trinket for paladins, ive seen people in T6 gear, all purples, but still using this trinket, it may be hard to get for some people, but all I can say is never give up geting it, its just to good if your a paladin.
anyone know how much flat spell haste this is? assuming it procs once per minute.
A paladin healer would find most use for it than a restoration druid or maybe a priest. Most Restoration druids spam HoTs unless there´s a need for a healing touch or regrowth. So the haste isnt really that important. It has +70 healing though so its viable unless you find a better one in a heroic or something
I have this on my druid and used to think the proc was useless, but after some testing I found out that it's actually pretty sweet for rolling lifeblooms on multiple targets. From what I can tell, haste decreases the global cooldown now, so you can lifebloom and switch targets noticeably faster than usual. I don't know when they changed all this stuff, but the fact that it procs off lifebloom now and decreases the time needed to put lifebloom on people... it actually makes it a pretty decent druid trinket. If you're doing a fight like Hex Lord, I wouldn't use any other trinket (that I have access to)
This is a nice trinket for PVP in arena. So far, I don't find Battlemaster's trinket all that great. This is a great replacement. It offers decent heals along with some haste that can save you in arena.
They can't be serious about the name....can they?
who the heck drops/sells this?
Lov'in it as a Holy Paladin.
Flash of Light got a 1 sec. casttime and Holy Light with skilled Light's Grace got a 1.5 sec. casttime.
Equip: Your healing spells have a chance to increase your spell haste rating by 320 for 6 secs.
what does it mean?
this is a really nice trinket, for a lot of people i'll admit the Rejuvenation Gem from BWL is better. I'd get it if i could but don't have a raiding guild that's bored enough to run the old raids though, so i'm mostly screwed on that.
But at any rate, this isn't an endurance trinket like the rejuve one, this is a power healing trinket, it's for needing lots of heals quickly. PvP mostly comes to mind first, i mean how many times have you been casting a heal for them to die less than 1/2 a sec too soon, or even when you do get the heal off and it takes your mana but they die anyways do to gay sever latency? This has a somewhat chance to take care of that. imo if you can get both do it, cause i'm sure at some point you're going to find something that you need to heal faster than you can normally.
Imba =), But for nw 60 is max lvl ...
So when will lvl 70 be available? awaiting....
I'd still prefer Rejuvenation Gem (From BWL) over this.
When this procs, it reduces cast time of your healing spells. When you raid or instance, unless you're not a good healer, you don't even need faster casting times.
The mana you gain from Rejuv Gem on a boss fight will enable you to heal for longer and keep the tank up longer.
The proc from this trinket speeds your casting time making more of a chance for over heal, giving you less mana, therefore you go oom quicker. And .5 seconds off healing spells for 6 seconds makes almost no difference.
Conclusion: Rejuv Gem > Scarab
What a very catchy name:
Item: Caverns of Time Dark Portal Lvl 70 Aeonus Loot 1 Healer Trinket
Just rolls right off the lips. j/k.
I wonder if Vampiric Embrace is able to make this item proc.
Don't worry about these names. It's all still unfinished and will get a proper name by release.
Speed increaser is 23.3% which equates to the following :
1.5 second cast -> 1.15 second cast
2.0 second cast -> 1.53 second cast
2.5 second cast -> 1.92 second cast
3.0 second cast -> 2.30 second cast
Drops off the last boss in the Black Morass (caverns of time, opening the dark portal)
got it today, would have helped a lot during the fight as i had to constantly spam flashes, potted super twice, got innervated and shadowfiended, anyways its basically like bloodlust's increase, and seems to proc every 1 in 12-15 casts
Just got this tonight, and it seems as if it'll be very helpful, given how many times I've just not been able to heal fast enough (Resto shammy here). Just two more levels until I can use it...
im a druid
3 sec = 2.3
1.5 sec = 1.15
1 sec = 0.767
i havnt seen it proc on any of my instance casts yet
they just boosted the haste rating too as of today's (2-13)patch
16 haste = %1 cast speed
that means if it procs, you can cast %20 faster..
i m not sure about its proc rate but it can be proc on flash geal spam...
I got this thing to, i absolutly love it. First time we beat that lame ass dragon boss it dropped for me. Im a Tauren Druid on daggerspine and ive barely seen any people with it. So i feel really lucky to have this thing. You can cast 2 regrowth with increased speed while effect is active.
It's a 10% proc (click on the spell)
From the patch notes:
The amount of spell haste rating needed per percentage of haste has been increased substantially. However, spell haste will now affect channeled spells, increasing the rate of their effects and decreasing their total duration. The same amount of damage/healing per casting will occur, but will take less time.
So yeah, it's getting nerfed.
in the new patch it procs of HOTs too, so now its even better for druids and renewing priests
I was running BM, and had seen this item before and had been intrigued whether or not life drain, deathcoil, and syphon life would make this proc on an affliction warlock. The healer already had it so the members of my guild who were running the instance agreed to let me experiment with it instead of disenchanting it. I only have had a few minutes to mess with it and i have to log out so i decided i would make this post to see if i could get some easy answers from someone who has already tried this.. get back to me, if not i will repost my further test results....
Repost: It will certainly proc for a warlock but only as you cast health funnel to heal your pet apperantly , the spell haste is nice and so is a lil + healing for life drain and syphon life but if the only time it will proc is when healing your pet and not yourself it is pretty useless when compared to a +dmg trinket or something along the lines of that.
I believe this trinket has a procs per minute restriction.
Very nice trinket overall. The reduction in a Greater Heal for a priest from 2.5s to 2.0s is very noticable and very handy during situations where things get rough.
Very decent proc, more than enough to justify wearing it.
I'd be a little curious if a healing stream totem could proc this as it's technically a 'hot', but isn't healing your directly doing, you cast the totem but the totems doing the healing. Can any shammies confirm this?
Can anyone verify whether or not this works when a paladins ability, "Lights Grace" already reduces the next holy light spell by .5 seconds when you crit a holy light? Will it speed up the cast time by 20% when lights grace is in effect?
This is a really great trinket for my priest. I have this as well as the Mystical Skyfire Diamond gem, and while they have procced at the same time, they don't seem to stack. Still, very useful in raids, for example in Kara on Prince when he enrages -- this has saved our tank. It procs often enough to definitely be worth it - I seem to be getting about 5%, similar to the Mystical Skyfire. Not to mention that +70 healing is quite nice. :)
would this stack with hazza'rah's charm of healing? 340 haste +400 haste rating, thats some mighty fast GH yes?
I've been testing this recently. I've read a couple different posts and the most recent one above with extensive math cited spell haste increased speed by 1% per 21 spell haste. After proccing this trinket and moving over the tooltip for the spells, I find my 1.5s Flash to fall to 1.3s and my 2.5s GHeal fall to 2.17s. This gives way to my level 70 Priest gaining 1% casting speed per 24 haste rating.
Spamming flash heals at my 1667 heal bonus, I find that on MY average, this trink will give me 8304 total heal over those 6s vs 7308 without. This is factoring in MY casting delay factor (aka. spamming 3 on my keyboard to cast). Using a few other rates of casting I've experienced, I find that this trinket will only give me about 920 extra health in that 6s.
I don't know what other casters or classes have seen or if they're affected differently. This has procced off of Renew, Flash, and G Heal. But considering that this will proc at random and could come at a very unimportant time in a fight, or could proc off of instant HoT at the beginning of the fight and thus be useless and not proc again during that fight (were it only a few mob fight). I am thinking to rather choose the Lower City Praybook because I can control when I use that and they have equal +healing; the extra mana you gives has more potential to do greater good (i.e. crit or be otherwise affected by a temporary buff), and it's easy to get for 15g.
Hope this helps.
Can any Shaman confirm if this trinket will proc from Healing Stream Totem?
It is a 10% proc like the spell tip says if you click on it but it seems to have a hidden cooldown (30 or 45 sec, not real sure) which is why the effective proc rate people are reporting is so much lower.
does the spellhaste effect the ticks of your hots? so with the spellhaste buff, does your Lifebloom / renew etc. tick faster?
ive done atleast 15 runs.. still no drop yet :S
I Currently use this and The Pendant of the Violet Eye that drops from Aran in Karazhan.
Dont know if it makes much difference, but when this procs I try to activate the pendant at the same time. Gets 1 or 2 extra heals in thus gives me more mana back. As I say its really not much of a difference but every little helps in those long boss fights.
At level 70, 15.7 (as of 2.2) points of spell haste rating grants 1% spell haste bonus.
so is it 15.7 or 21?
edit: guess I answered my own question:
Just got this off my first BM run, and couldn't be happier. I heard this thing is great and healers use it for months. My first piece of healing in about 6-9 runs through instances, and by far, the best I could've gotten. I'm happy, though I can't use it yet, it will go great with my Primal Mooncloth set.
Got this on my second run. Also got the righteous legs so it was my day as a healing paladin. Interesting thing was the hourglass also dropped on this run - must be how the dice fall!
Im going to go out on a limb and say this is the greatest healing trinket ever.
After the recent patch where they made the global cooldown be shortened with spell haste... this should definitely be an epic quality item.
Please Blizz... no nerf bats to this.
70 BE Paladin
i have a nub question?
can you wear 2 of the same trinket? it would be awesome to have 2 of these thing equiped.
This is currently bugged in TBC Classic - there is a notable delay on the benefit applying to your character and the spell that procs it, meaning if you are chain casting, the trinket will proc early in the cast and have no effect until the next cast begins. For a proc that lasts 6 seconds, that can essentially give you only 1 or 2 spells that benefit from the proc, even with the haste effect taken into consideration.
Given that its random and rarely do healers need to continuously cast with no regard for output, that makes this formerly highly-regarded trinket quite suboptimal.
