I'm a bit disappointed with this libram - proportionately this should have a much high bonus, considering the Blessed Book of Nagrand (
) improves FoL by 79.
this book, just like the blessed book of nagrand and blessing of light, doesn't care about casting time and will add the _full_ stated bonus to the spell
Thin one is probably better for main healing during raids since you will be having to use holy light to outheal the big hits.
The FoL one is probably better for regular instances since most of the time spaming it and an occasional holy light will work fine.
Swapping librams does not trigger global cooldown so you can in fact use both with a couple simple macros.
By spamming a downranked HL on a target with blessing of light this is a great libram.
I find this useful sometimes. When I'm casting Holy Light (since switching Librams DO NOT trigger global cooldown), I pop this on with my macro:
/equip Libram of the Lightbringer
/cast Holy Light
Other than that though, I'll be using
Blessed Book of Nagrand
until my Souls Redeemed from Karazhan. The Blessed Book and this Libram are basically your cheaper version of Souls Redeemed, considering how easy those two are compared to it.
A macro like that is useful, for those who don't want to make macro's for libram switching, get the Librameister addon to do it for you!
Here is the macro that I use:
/cast Holy Light; Holy Light; Holy Light
/equip Libram of the Lightbringer
This will turn off the sound effects that tell you that you are out of range, then it will allow you to either cast Holy Light on your targeted player, or the player that you are hovering over (in raid frames OR on your screen). Next this will also equip this book so that you get the most out of Holy Light.
Is this better than Blessed book of Nagrand? I know they are for diferent things but i was testing, and it seems to heal for more than 87. Something to do with the cast time of holy light?
Most raid healing pallys are going to be using
Libram of Justice
Libram of Light
or even the lowly
Libram of Divinity
because you spam Flash of light, but if you are holy specced you get your Divine Favor free crit heal which you may as well and probably will use on a Holy Light.
Librams are a 'weapon' so you can switch them in combat so using a simple macro /equip 'Libram of the Lightbringer'; /cast 'Holy Light'; you add another 150 to your 3.5k heal, and you can switch right back to the FoL libram and continue spamming. I think this is great. So cout down the days while it still works and enjoy it while you can.
And if you are lucky and possess it, you can equip
Libram of Souls Redeemed
right before you do the Greater Blessing of Light Rank 2 raid buff you now have +676 to Holy Light and +281 to FoL. And you can switch back to the other librams and gain another +87 to HL and +83 to FoL
With zero talent points spent and zero +spell/healing you could be casting a 1.5s, 180 mana; Flash of Light (Rank 7) and healing for 812 to 866. thats a factor of 4.66HP/1MP
You have a higher rate of crit with holy light.
If you are good with timing and know when the mob is attacking the tank you can make sure your holy light hits right after he takes dmg ( for most fights in kara).
Since you have a higher crit rate, you will spend less mana using holy light. Flash of light is a ^&*!@ heal for people that don't know how to time their heals imo.
I mainly use it if I'm trying to keep the dps at full health and they've lost just a little hp.
Even then, if I have enough time (like during a moroes vanish or something), I'd use a lower rank of holy light instead, as I want my mana back from its 30% crit chance compared to the 24 of flash.
anyone whom heals with HL only is a fool period.
anyone can push "3" over and over and over that doesnt make u a good healer that makes you a nub. good healers know when HL is needed (and yes there are many times that its needed) and when you can, use FoL. no raid healer in game that clears the end game or heroics will tell you that they only use HL and there is not a single one that will say they only use FoL.
there is a reason blizzard gave us 3 different heals...use them as the circumstances require
More often then not, you'll be using a full big fat heal for the MT, and using quicker lower mana cost flashes to keep the dps alive. Your tank is gettin hit for 6k a pop in KZ trash and Heroic trash. You need 6k HL crits to show up in 2 sec, or your tank dies. With the right crit % build and gear, you can last a long time spamming HL. Pop a 70mp5 flask, an Adept's Elixir and a Mageblood Pot/Elixir and you'll last for those 5 min long fights without fear of /oom. You should choose the HL Libram for most effectiveness.
Librams can be equipped in combat. So make macros for both your HL and FoL spells that equips the respective libram before you cast.
Seriously, I think any paladin worth his salt would want BOTH librams.
If you pop up trinkets like ZHC or ZHC+Essence Of Martyr (yeah can chain use both) with +1600 base healing you get 2900+ crits for FoL (1900 non crit) and over 3000 crits on rogues with +20% heal talent or locks with their fel armor buff. Not bad for 180 mana cost spell
I love how this always drops when there's isn't even a pally in the party
hehe Flash heals are for noobs, be it Priest or Paladin...
The most mana effective are lareger, longer cast heal drops,
if u need a smaller amount u just go from rank11 to rank8.
Spammers will never be a part of Endgame raiding skill, so l2p tooday and down Mag. perhaps.
No wonder u'r oom after 1st pull in instances than lmao.
