For hybrid gear this is very nice, lots of plus healing, decent stre, it could use more agi but thats where gems comes in..
However the lack of spirit is worrying if one was proposing to heal with it. You might not think its a big deal but with the onset of tree of life the spirit formula was changed for druids making it viable to go for spirit heavy items.
Sorry to say, but moonglade is not either an upgrade on stormrage or rank13/aq40 stuff for feral/hybrid role.
The idea to substitute +dmg with +heal is good, since is pretty rare to moonfire spam being feral/resto; still the stats are weak compared to aq40/rank13.
I doubt I'll use this set much as most of my time is spent tanking or dpsing and I have better gear for those. However, this set is great for me when I am needed to heal or be a dedicated off-heal. The bonus healing that feral druids can have from str (50%, depending on talent points spent) make the set a bit stronger for plus healing for a feral druid vs a resto or balance druid. So in my opinion, it's nice for the feral healer, but not worth really grinding for if you're full resto.
I wanna put a +26 heal earthstorm in this.. how would i go about doing so?
this set is great for boomkins as well. i do healing sometimes in raids when one healer goes down, i jump in and heal. it's good to get plus spirit gems or plus spell crit/hit gems that help with the dps aspect, as well as the healing aspect of the set
Hmmm... the whole set is lovely for a healer! Currently, I'm 65 but Im a moonkin> Ill respecc when i get 70 and Ill gather this set before going on raids or anything. Looks sweet! Let';s hope that with my bad luck and Druid hating Blizz we all will get it quick while it looks shiny!
I've been trying to get this damn helm for 3 weeks and after run after run it never drops. QQ
its aight for healin, no mana regen though so its kinda sucks teir2 is better. More feral. if u look at the intented feral pvp gear its the same, although by giving feral druids gear like this they are forcin us to heal in a pvp situation as crit or hit was replaced by plus heal.
there are better peices for either of the three specs taht most people are but if your a hybrid spec like 1 34 26 or 5 34 22 it's pretty bomb. I mean look at some of the great pvp vids out there, they have guys who obviously have NG or imp NG tons of feral points and still are able to NS themselves when the going gets rough. The +healing on this makes you increadibly hard to kill due to the combination of healing, attack power and armour.
personally i go for sets as i'm either tanking, healing, or dpsing. This is not the set for you if your raiding, it's just all around pretty good.
Mantle of Autumn
and other off peices are better imo.
personally i'm going to use 2 peices raiding for the set bonus but i don't think it will replace the feral gear i've gotten, maybe the legs thats about it. For a while anyway, theres better like the rogue/druid peices from heroics
Honeslty I'd lol at a feral using this set as his/her main dps or tanking set. check out the t2.5 or the Field Marshal set...better feral stats there(although there is better mix gear even). The set has more + healing to it then t2 and should go to a resto over a feral Imo.
For people with a 0-30-31 build, this seems nice. For pure ferals and pure restos, there are better blues to get pre-Karazhan. Then again, it might work well for non-tanking ferals in 5- or 10-man instances when it's necessary to pop out and heal or OT. Having the extra mana and +healing would be handy.
No, Moonglade is not the best set for feral pve due to lack of more ap & crit stats. It's also not the best set for raiding as a healer (despite decent +heal) due to a lack of mp5.
What this set is good for, and what hasn't been mentioned at ALL, is for feral/resto druid PVP, especially arena. In pvp, a good druid should be switching in and out of forms frequently, to cyclone, break movement impairing effects, and toss heals on your team. The 4-set bonus, along with the +int is amazing for that.
Most gear that ferals use for raiding lacks int entirely, since blizz has further seemed to lock druids into being in 1 form at a time. Because of that, druids who didn't invest in the natural shapeshifter talent can only shift ~4 times before going oom. Not so great for pvp. This set provides druids with the ability to shift a few more times, along with +heal to make you more effective when you do need to pop out of cat/bear and heal someone. IMO, that is well worth losing some AP.
To the person that mentioned the 4-set bonus as helpful for tree druids... I don't know that many resto druids, but I can't imagine any of them shifting in and out of tree form very frequently in a raid environment. And due to the fact that trees can be banished, I don't imagine we'll be seeing too many of them in arena.
LISTEN TO FEEDMEH!
He's dead on. This isn't a strictly feral or strictly healing set, this is for all around healing and DPSing... AKA PvP. If you never realized that then you might want to rethink your role as a druid, because in order to have the most potential as a druid and create the most survivability for your team in PvP, you need to think about keeping your teammates up AND DPSing.
As for this being a moonkin set....LOL. I really don't think Blizzard had moonkin's in mind while making this.
I just want to know where it drops and how often
Yes, it is an all around set and not necessarily better for feral or for resto. Now, look at the set bonus for 4 pieces. Added to natural shapeshifting, I think it reduces druid shapeshifting by 55%. Why would Blizzard do this for a raid set? Maybe, just maybe, they want druids to fulfill their role of doing everything. If backup heals are needed, we can shift out and in and out and in and so on at a much lower mana cost. Personally, I would use it more with a feral spec because it compliments the Nurturing Instinct talen well, plus you'll have Heart of the Wild for a more solid mana pool. That's just my opinion though, and there are some definite bonuses for resto druids as well.
I'm using the moonglade shoulders on my feral druid. I put +13 crit on them and some agility sockets, I'm going to try and get the whole set and respec resto tho, for Karazhan raids. I think this set is good healing for resto druids, and stats for feral druids.
this is hybrid armor deffently for pvp and nothing else, lets face it cat form isent a rouge due to lack of stunlock and so we can compenstate the loss of being a worse dpser by not going for more dps gear but by going for hybrid gear which lets you heal yourself or cast cyclone or even heal others(you self centered bastards!) and so its not really heal gear although i guess you can use it to but pvp gear for ferals mostly.
This set, at my opinion, is for Warsong battleground.
Prepare 4x this set plus 4x R14 set
can make you taking flags to home more easily.
I think it can be a good Mookin set if you spec a little different than most Mookins, see my spec is Balance with 18 in feral to get the Predatory Strikes talent (150% $%^( Feral Attack Power) bonus for my Moonkin. I couple this with Dire-Bear armor, 10% additional armor contribution from gear, my automatic 150% Attack power bonus in Moonkin and my Earthwarden and I do very well. I dont have an extremely terrible bear/cat form either what with the dodge/crit bonuses. I stillhave enough points for Treants, Feral Charge and Natures Grasp! lol. (I socketed the Moonglade for +spell damage, and +spell crit btw.)I think I could get better gear for sure, but for a druid of any spec who doesn't like the rep grinds or the Honor point grinds, this set rocks!
You guys are all nuts, or willfully ignorant. This is one of the best healing helms in the game, for a long stretch. Even if you're raiding Kara you'll be hard-pressed to find a better one. I'm a Shaman, and I
I could get a better healing helmet than this -- I
In addition to its exceptionally high +int and +heal, its real capper is its rare
. All of you seem to be looking at the base stats, and ignoring the fact that you can plunk a
Bracing Earthstorm Diamond
into this and rock hard. I happen to have an
Insightful Earthstorm Diamond
in mine right now, and my
Shamanistic Helmet of Second Sight
can't even hope to come up to this item's healing stats no matter what gems I put into it.
I'd love to get rid of this giant Hershey's Kiss, but it's just too good for healing. If there's a helmet with better healing stats once socketed that you can get outside of Hyjal or the Black Temple, please, please link it.
really this is a set i like cuse i have a 11/25/25 spec witch works out grate for gathering herbs and minerals and getting away alive. with the all around stats and the +healing make me feel like ite was made for me ^_^ and yes i know my spec sucks for pvp and pve but its for as i said gathering and escapeing i make lots of gold with it
Moonglade Cowl also drops off High Botanist Freywinn on normal difficulty.
Ran through Instance multiple times before it dropped, in both Heroic and Normal. Used every spec but dropped while in Guardian spec. Hope this helps.
