Drops off Maiden of Virtue in Karazhan.
The stats on this mace make it easily one of the best, if not THE best healing weapon available right now. And it drops off the third boss in Karazhan, which makes it fairly easy to obtain. The droprate appears that it might be low, but getting to Maiden of Virtue and downing her will not be too difficult for most raiding groups who know what they are doing.
Excellent stats, and reasonably obtainable = good job blizzard.
I spent my time getting Sha'tar rep and got the mace from them for 190g. its better and takes less time.
Both looks ugly as ever but u get used to it :p
Hand of Eternity is awesome, the problem is obviously getting the pattern (the mats however are surprisingly simple for something of that quality).
Is this mace being buffed in 2.1?
As of PTR 2.1 the new stats are:
Increase Healing by 348
Restore 6 Mana Per 5 sec
Now that is what I call buffed up! I've decided to go with this mace.
I'd say, compared to the other healer maces in the game pre-SS/pre-Eye, this one is the best there is. The 6 mp5 outclasses the Prince's Light's Justice with it's mediocre extra healing; and the increased base stats trumps all the others.
Combine this with the Sapphire offhand from the Shade of Aran, and the only thing better before you start hitting the Eye and Serpentshrine is the staff that drops from Mag.
I have this mace for my paladin's healing gear, and it is excellent, you will get a lot of mileage out of it.
Only downside is that it looks kind of odd, since it is pretty long. On my dwarf it drags on the ground while it is sheathed.
It looks like a slightly smaller Oathkeeper, it is one of the largest 1h weapons I've seen. Add +81 healing to it and you have 429 healing in one slot. This mace alone(with enchant) adds 300 to your Holy light and 170 to your Flash of light.
As far as visuals go, this mace has a very cool swirling light graphic, similar to what you see when you cast any Holy spells. If the awesome stats aren't incentive enough for you to get this mace, the graphics should be ;-)
Argus it has no swirling light graphic that is an enchant which gives +81 healing to a weapon.
Drop from Maiden of Virtue,Karazhan.Best mace for *paladins* what u can get if u just starting on Karazhan and use it until BT
Shard of Vituous is by far the best PvE-mace for a Holy Paladin at this state of the game.
Compared to Light's Justice:
As a paladin, 20 Spirit, 1 Intellect and +34 Healing, is nothing compared to what you get out of 6mp/5. And about the Stamina, its not all that important in PvE, and if you want to PvP, this is the wrong mace anyways. (
, not only better it's also easier to get.)
I've downed maiden 10 times for this mace and it hasn't dropped once is this normal?
I won roll for this with my rogue lol, pali was pissed.
I would have prefered 300, even numbers ftw
Yesterday drop to us :)
I will upload an screenshot of this item!
Good luck healers!
As of 2.1, the stats have been improved. This mace now gives 22 Stamina, 20 Int, and 349 +Healing. MP5 has not been changed.
it drops in karazhan from maiden of virtue

Good healing mace, not quite light's justice though! Understandable though because it drops of maiden.
Light's Justic may have a little more healing, but this one has the mp5. For shams and palas, this thing just rules. Now after the patch too... uff so nice. So get your bad ass to Maiden
This comparison is for a Priest
I've got one of these and, having lost a roll for a Light's Justice (><) to a druid, I decided to look into whether or not a Light's Justice is an upgrade on this. This is how they compare
Shard of the Virtuous
6 mp5 not casting
12.5 mp5 not casting
6 mp5 while casting
1.875 mp5 while casting
Of course, this doesn't take into acount stat multipliers, such as spec, racials, trinkets et cetera. However, going off these base stats, the big differences are the mp5 and healing. I will compare based on these two stats.
Roughly, if you are idle for 40% of the time or more (20 sec per minute), Light's Justice will return more mana. This is unlikely except on trash, or if you're a big fan of instant or short cast spells.
The other big stat is + healing. For a 3 sec cast time (eg standard Greater Heal), this gives +298 on Shard of the Virtuous, and +331 on Light's Justice on top of the spell heal.
assuming that you're idle for 15% of the time
(9 seconds per minute), Shard of the Virtuous will give about 3.25 mp5 more (39 mp minute), and Light's Justice will give 33 additional healing on a 3 second cast (eg Greater Heal) (In 1 min 17 casts (15% time idle) thats additional 561 healing).
in terms of spells
, Light's Justice is roughly equivilent to an extra 1x Heal (Rank 2) per minute, where as Shard of the Virtuous gives almost the equivilent mana of 1x Lesser Heal (Rank 2) per minute. There is a difference, and its more noticable over a longer fight. Therefore, > for a priest when concidering healing and mp5.
Look at your racials, spec, et cetera, before making up your mind. For Humans with 10% additional spirit, Light's Justice looks even better (+0.5 more healing and 1.25 more mp5 not casting and 0.18 mp5 while casting). With the 15% mana regen while casting tallent, the Light's Justice again nudges ahead, as it will now give 3.76 mp5 while casting. Hope this helps.
Mayb its me but that pic of a draeni looks pornographic :P
Ugh! The BEST HEALER is a well rounded healer. Without a decent pool of mana they go oom and have to depend on regen (which takes time), without intellect their heals can't crit, without enough +healing their heals barely do anything and they have to constantly spam heal, without mana regen they suck for long fights. Also playing style is obviously part of this. So when you get new items or enchants or whatever, don't get them to increase ur strongest aspect, increase ur weakers ones first! <ok done ranting> xD
I just got this mace for my paladin as it was a huge upgrade from my
). It's basically the best Tier 4 raiding main-hand for paladins and the easiest to get (assuming you're in a raiding guild already).
The spirit for the
) doesn't do much for a paladin and the additional healing won't make that much of an upgrade, so I'd rather someone else get this if I see it drop.
The extra healing bonus isn't all that important if you're already in the mid 1500's for bonus healing (which you should be at if you've cleared Karazhan a couple times). If you have this weapon already, don't roll on the Light's Justice if someone else could use the upgrade.
I had it enchanted with
Enchant Weapon - Major Intellect
), which I'd recommend to paladins as the increased spell critical strike chance will be more beneficial than 81 more HP on a heal.
Once I got my Tier 4 gloves, I had them enchanted with
Enchant Gloves - Major Healing
) which really negates any loss of bonus healing anyway between the
Shard of the Virtuous
In our guild,
Shaman, Pala->Shard of the Virtous
Druid, Priest->Light's Justice
The drop rate on this thing sux random my butt, everytime we down this boss we get at least one shammy item, stupid shammies.. Anyways, we've killed her for at least 3 months and have seen it drop a grand total of once gg blizz.
My guild downed the boss for the first time and this dropped so i guess you have bad luck
Whoever ran the int vs Mp5 numbers initially was an iddiot. Beyond kara fights last around 15 minutes...Mp5 is king.
This mace is one of the best four healing maces in the game for any class.
Priests are Spirit dependant, and Shamans aren't.
So i can say that giving Light's Justice to a priest in your group, and giving Shard of Vir. to a shaman will be more rational.
So when it comes to, which enchant should a Shaman choose for this Mace?
My choice is +30 intellect. Cause Shamans' s get a bonus healing ( %30 percent ) from their intellect.
if u enchant this with +30 intellect you ' ll gain
450 Extra mana & 9 bonus healing. And the more Mana pool you have will increase the mana gained from your Mana Tide totem (%24 of your total mana)
in my opinion, after hitting about 1500 bonus healing you can freely choose every enchant and Gem for socketed items as INTELLECT & MP/5
Remember that there are many Buffs to increase your bonus healing in the game
Golden Fish Sticks (44healing)
Superior Wizard oil (42healing)
Elixir of Healing Power (50healing)
Elixir of Draenic Wisdom (30intel/9healin)
Which increases your bonus heal about 145. This is more than enough. So get some intellect and make it sure that you' ll have enough mana to finish the fight.
i have about 14K mana(buffed) and 1500 bonus heal. i never run out of mana in raids.
So I bought Spellsurge for mine and although it procks often it would help a lot more if 3 instead of 1 had it. I should've gone with +intel =]
i want this mace. i have the mace from mech. i forget what its called. but im too much of a cheep a** to buy a enchant on my weapon. i will wait till i have one that is worth a damn. i can see me holding on to this mace for quite a while. i dont see me haveing a problem getting this either, my guild is just farming kara and all the other healers have this. so i hope i get a chance to roll on this next time.
With a 81 healing enchant, it gives the mace a surrounding aura of golden energy that swirls around it and leaves a lengthy trail. Very cool.
Grr have to wait till next week to get this beast of a healing wep, damn pvp maces are lame
DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT . . . .
I've been in Kara 4 times now on my Holy Pally and it's dropped 4 times (freaky) but I keep loosing the roll . . . happened last night, I lost the roll by 3.
I'm sure it will drop again next week . . I hope I get it next.
Droped for me tonight, Great stuff.
All of the healers in my guild kara group have got this mace. I really need it to replace my blue mace and was wondering what the actual drop rate was? anyone know?
whats that mace called thats purple and has little floaty chunks of crystal floating around it? i think its a 1 hander.
I'm a holy paladin with 1200+healing and 21% spell crit. 9700mana unbuffed.
I'm just wondering what enchant I should slap on this.
Thanks for your input.
