Apparently its Karazhan, drops off Nightbane.
Better than Bonescythe Chestpiece? I wouldnt really think so.
Blue version of this can be found in Heroic ramparts, wich actually hardly loses much stats against this nightbane epic.
Durability 100 / 100
Requires Level 70
Equip: Increases your parry rating by 16.
Equip: Improves hit rating by 17.
Equip: Increases attack power by 70.
This chest is part of a "set" of items that have no connection to each other other than that they all share the same design style and color. Its basicly a reworking of the tier2 set, but now in brown and white.
I think its such a cool looking "set" that I would probably wear it around town despite having stuff that is better like the Tier4.
The Rogue/Feral items in Kara that go with the "set" are
Just to re-itterate, this is not an official "set", this is purely an aesthetic set that where obviously meant to go together.
Just got them on my rogue. Very happy, gaining more AP and lots more HIT than what I had, .3 less crit tho.
However, if we had a Feral druid, i would've been happy to roll with him, while it might be fantastic also for Druids; it's still a fairly marginal upgrade for both classes considering Blues/Tier4.
Also a good hunter breastplate, even though it's kinda cliche with "hunter itemz!".
Have better AP/crit that most other, including some Agi for survival specc, which is getting more common.
I did pass it to a guildie rogue though ;)
New stats for 2.1
+4agi, +6sta, +4hit, +8 AP
Cowl of Defiance
Bladed Shoulderpads of the Merciless
Chestguard of the Conniver
Bracers of Maliciousness
Gloves of Dexterous Manipulation
Girdle of Treachery
Am i the only one thinks, socketed properly that
can actually be a better PvE chest than the Conniver?
Edit: please comment
Doesn't anyone think that s3 rogue chest that if socketed properly can be a better PvE chest than this?
fine chest, superior to this one, imo.
I agree with some of the other posters in regards to the fact the PvE Epics are often times not very good. If you socket a lot of the blues they are very close and sometimes better then the Kara epics. I wish Blizz would have thought this all thru. The only upside to epics is you don't need to invest gold on rare gems for the rare. Hardly worth running Kara over and over again in an attempt to improve by nominal amounts.
Best chest ingame for rogue?
Sockets can be overrated, but with the right ones even the chest off Nightbane can be a marginal sidegrade. Gotta love itemization in TBC so far...
33 agi (roughly .80% crit and 33 AP)
30 stam (300 hp)
82 AP (82+33=115 AP total)
18 hit rating (1.14% to hit)
For comparison, let's look at the Chestguard of Assasination which has 3 sockets:
28 agi (.70% crit and 28 AP)
21 stam (210 hp)
54 AP (54+28=82 AP unsocketed)
You could socket with rare gems fitted for the socket color giving you the (lol) 4 dodge rating or .21% chance to dodge. Screw the dodge, we'll try to match these chests the best we can with gems.
For the 2 red sockets we'll go with +16 AP bright living rubies. For the blue socket we'll go with yellow instead and socket a Rigid Dawnstone for +8 hit rating (.51%). That brings us to:
28 agi (.70% crit and 28 AP)
21 stam (270 hp)
54+32 from gems for 86 AP + 28 from agi = 114 AP
8 hit rating (+.51%)
Upgrading to the Chestguard of the Conniver will give you a net bonus of 26 armor, 1 AP, .63% chance to hit, .10% crit, and 90 hit points. You will also possibly break the Assassination set bonuses which are pretty nice, imo. In other words, don't cry if you only kill Nightbane once or twice for Vashj attunements and never see this drop.
My shammy loves it.:)
QQ no sockets who cares stats and AP are sweet better than assassination tunic so idk wtf this guy is making 3 paragraphs to prove no point
uhh +hit is...pretty important
hit is a really valuable stat, especially for rogues with combat potency, where the less your offhand misses, the more free energy you get. Blizzard values hit at about 75% of crit, but for rogues, it's a lot more valuable than that, so stacking hit makes for crazy dps
lmao good thing you arent guilded with me
This is a rogue/feral druid chest, not one or the other, so stop the fighting over which class shuld have this... and u warriors/shamans that roll on this, why? there's equal gear for you that 1) has more armor, giving up some stats and 2)FITS YOUR CLASS! Leather=Rogue/Druid Cloth=Lock, Mage, Priest Mail= Shaman, Hunter Plate= Paladin, Warrior... now if noone of the certain classes specified needs it then by all means go ahead and roll on it, but until then, get more acquainted with the gear u have
Of all the classes that dual wield, only one relies on leather; the rogue.
Most reasonable people have already stated that they'd pass to rogues before rolling on a re-drop and for that I salute you.
Unfortunately, there are about a million rogues out there who are idiots and I would almost rather see them not get this over a shammy/hunter/warrior/druid just so that the item would go to someone who had some skill as a player.
If you're a rogue and you want this for the +hit and +AP, then kickass, you deserve it. If you're a rogue who says "assassination armor is better, specially with that leet set bonus!1" then please... just keep your assassination and pass to someone who has a clue.
If you're a rogue who has Wastewalker Chest and Shoulderpads, then use those over this any day. That is the most amazing set bonus that any blue set has ever recieved. I envy anyone with that combo.
All rogues, heed the advice of others, get 250 or more +hit. No excuses.
If you have maxed out on "to hit" (not hard with a few drops from Kara and clefthoof hide leggings), this is a disappointment for a feral druid.
This gives only a tiny bit of crit increase and less than 10 ap more than Chestguard of the Talon, which can be bought on the ah for less than 100 gold. Also, depsite the increased stamina, I would not use this to tank over a properly socketed Heavy Clefthoof Vest.
Chestguard of the Talon
Total: 120 ap
Chestguard of the Conniver
Equip: Improves hit rating by 22.
Equip: Increases attack power by 90.
Total: 127 ap
Why is it some people get so aggressive about who should get what item? I see "ninja $%^&*!@s" and "this is rogue only. If you're not a rogue, go away" garbage all the time.
This item has some fantastic stats, and yes, it is an amazing chestpiece. Why do you think so many people want it? Why else would so many classes want it?
Feral Druids have just as much call for this piece as a Rogue does. A Feral was built to fight. Yes, they can Brez. Yes, they can heal. But they were built to fight. Same way a Shadowpriest is geared towards hurting.
Each individual person knows what they want, knows what they need to make the character they play better. If they have a good reason for wanting something, then by all means, they should roll on it.
I play a Hunter personally, and I wouldn't roll on this piece. Why? It's got some great hunter stats, I'll give you that. However, a Hunter is more like a caster class in that they can do decent damage with their auto-attack, but most of their damage comes from yellow, not white. With no Int, no mana regen, nothing at all to help me maintain my yellow damage, this piece just isn't worth it for me. It's the same reason I won't take Breastplate of Rapid Striking over my Bonechewer Berserker's Vest. However, I would never trash a hunter that wanted this chest. If someone thinks a certain item will make their character better, then all the power to them.
This item doesn't say "Class: Rogue" anywhere on it, which means anyone that is able to wear leather armour CAN and SHOULD wear it if they believe it will make them better. In a raid, a single character's damage doesn't mean squat. It's the group as a whole that matters. If this piece is a significant upgrade from what a Feral Druid in your party has, but is only mildly better than what you've got, I don't care if you're a rogue. The FDruid has just as much claim as you do.
ZOMG! a peice of epic gear that is good for 2 classes THE WORLD IS GOING TO EXPLODE!
get over yourselves seriously
Please compare this and
Chestguard of the Talon
, for a druid that is.
skip the argument altogether, roll elemental leatherworking and get the primalstrike vest :) it's the only good piece of leather in that set, but well worth the mats. especially when you have guildies that are willing to let you have the necessary nethers and can do the transmutes for you.
if it's not rogue, i wonder, why does it have bloodfang skin?
I got it tonight. I'm a hunter. The rogue already had it. There are certainly better alternatives, and I'd never roll against a druid or rogue on it, but it's a big step up from what I was wearing (Laughing Skull Battle Harness) so I make no apologies. Better someone gets use out of it than its gets sharded. Even better that it happened to be me :)
I do miss sockets and INT on it though, but I will live with that. I daresay a lot of rogues and ferals inspecting me are going to be less than pleased to see a "@#$%^&*" with "their" gear, but frankly, I was there, they weren't, and no one else needed it, so cry more.
This is only a game. Some people should really try to remember that.
Man, this was a nice upgrade from my Hauberk of Karabor (quest reward from aldor/scryer chain).
It was a great night for me, I won the T4 helm and then we decided to backtrack and kill a few more bosses. This dropped and nobody needed it, so even with less DKP than others, I still won it.
Now if we had taken bosses in the other order, I would have spent DKP on this and been left in the dust at T4 helm drop, so my lucky night.
(BTW, we run Gruul's, Mag, SSC, TK, so we do keep track of DKP... even in Kara)
Now i'm sitting 1616 AP, 258 hit, 24.5% crit.
A long ways to go, but making progress one day at a time.
IF YOUR GUILD HAS TO ARGUE ON WHAT GEAR GOES TO WHO. THE GUILD PROBABLY IS TOO INEXPERIENCED TO KILL THE BOSS.
james from shandris
of course, feral druids should be able to roll on this because in alot alot alot of cases druids bring tank/dps gear to raids because they have to tank one minute, dps another, (take karazhan for example, offtank moroes, dps shade of aran). Feral druids are prime useful in raids, which is why almost every BT guild has them, or any good guild for that matter. dont see why rogues complain when feral druids roll on this, maybe its because they want to improve thier chance of winning. however im a rogue and i wouldnt subject to it, but if he was restore or boomkin, that would probably piss me off if he says, oh, im gonna respec, i would never ever try to ninja a sword from someone when im mace/dagger spec, and say, oh i could use that cuz ill respec for it. I just think that people need to take more respect for other people and put them in thier shoes.
I'm a rogue, and i personally couldn't give a *!@# if a warrior rolled against me, its an upgrade sure. but if it helps them more, then more power to ya, for all you rogues out there who would get anal about a feral druid or even hunter rolling against you, i got some advice, Get over urself, ur not the only one in the raid, and if they helped get you there, then they have the right to roll.
Our rogue was out this week, so this little kitty got her claws on a green-to-purple chest upgrade. (I'd been using Expedition Tunic of the Tiger.)
Granted, both this and Heavy Clefthoof Vest are going to take a VERY critical eye towards replacement once I get those 75 badges...
Did anyone notice a hunter wearing this in the screenshots? Why would a hunter want leather when he can wear mail? Please help me understand.
I would say because of the stats. Granted, I play a rogue, so I've no authority to say that. I'm just guessing. My reasoning is the armor is useless in a raid because hunters should never even be touched (if they play it right). So if they can get a boost in stats, it's fair game. What I do not like, though, is when a hunter rolls on a leather dps piece when there are rogues or feral druids in the raid who can only wear leather. That's when a good raid leader comes in handy.
after scrolling down through all of the arguments i have only one thing to say.
