This is a good f#@&ing cloak especially for a tank. And imagine adding +70 or +100 if they have that enchant this is bomb @$$. Sorry for the language but it's true.
I would even consider using this on my lock. Staying alive is niiice
Has the same skin as the Redoubt Cloak (
), which was arguably the best tanking cloak pre-raid before the expansion.
We can all see this is a fine cloak, but where does one find this piece of cloth?
Terestian Illhoof (1)+ 42.86% (7)
I'd love this for Feral tanking.
I prefer the thoriumweave cloak:
to this. More armor and stamina, you just lose 21 defense rating pts. It's possible to get over 415 defense from rings, trinkets, enchants, and other gear, to become crit immune, so the 21 extra defense on this isn't worth giving up the armor and stam, IMO.
Here's the gear I have that gives me 418 defense:
True enough, but here's a couple things.
One, I've never seen Capacitus drop that Cloak. I already HAVE seen the Guilded one drop. Drop rates in this game can be whimsical.
Two, having all three stats on one item gives you more flexibility with the rest of your gear.
I would say that you take one or the other depending on what the rest of your set looks like. If the Thoriumweave fits better, take it. If this fits better, take it.
this is a nice cape for druids but after the next patch they are buffing the thoriumweave cloak's armor up to 390 so as being a druid tank i would take the thoriumweave over this due to the major armor diffrence and increased stam. but if ur lacking def then deffenitly take this it is an over all nice cloak.
If you can't get an Amber Cape of Nature Protection (
), this would also work well with a +15 NR Greater Nature Resistance enchant...making it easier reaching 490 defense and reasonable HP for your NR tank on Hydross.
For a Warrior tank Cloak Of Eternity will be as good as this IMO.
This cloak has such high mitigation, it's amazing. With a 120 armor enchant on it, that puts it up to 505 armor total.
Armor, Stamina, Defense...this cloak is MADE for heavy physical fights where stacking dodge can cause healers to become lapse and thus end up in wipes.
Just got it two nights ago. To top things off, it's my favorite cloak graphic in the game. It actually looks like a chain link fence. :)
This cloak is superior IMO to Devishark Cape for raiding for one reason only. Whereas pure avoidance is great to have a little of, if you completely ignore stam/armor/block value heading into raiding at the cost of 2% dodge and 1% parry (I'm not getting these numbers from anywhere I'm just throwing them out there) it will cost you. When in a raid situation, generally there is atleast 1 healer on you (keep in mind that the healer on you will probably be the best geared) they will be employing "pro-active healing" meaning that they aren't waiting for you to get hit and then heal, they are going to be throwing heals at you not waiting to see what happens. If you dodge or parry an attack, your healer is not going to cancel the heal, because by that time they'll have to recast and it will mess up what I assume to be their rotation (I know almost all classes have them, so I'm sure that healers do too). I am not downplaying the role of avoidance at all, I have just come to notice that several tanks value parry/dodge just a bit too much. I'm not trying to tell you how to gear your tank, but stacking stamina is my preference, and the preference of several other tanks, notice that Kungen (MT for Nihilum) has all +15 stam gems- or atleast he did at my last check. Take this for what it's worth, but the one fact is that having a high armor/block rate is as close to constant mitigation as you can get, and the extra stam you get will make sure that when a crushing blow does sneak through, you will have the HP to survive it.
nice design :D
Redoubt Cloak reloaded ;)
This is simply awesome.
yes ppl. look at this 1. Def. the best druid cloak in game asap now.
this one is a close 2nd place
this is the best druid cloak
it has armor defense stam combined, unlike devilshark where armor is only 215 and stam is only 15, although defense is 26, i'd sac 5 defense for 12more stam and 50 more armor
333.78 (0.00) - Thoriumweave Cloak -
Make up your own mind tho
Nice cloak, but I already have 415 Defense so
from Mech is a much better option for me
Imma level 1 noob warrior who was in Kara and got outrolled buy a . I was promised by Blizzard when I rolled a war that all tank loots would go to me first.
I'm so mad I could respec dps! Maybe I should read some about these other "tanking classes" and learn2WoW.
Thoriumweave cloak = Druid cloak
Cloak of eternity = Warrior cloak.
Cloak of Eternity (Crafted BoE)
Requires Level 69
A warrior would have more damage mitigation from 23 defense compared to 200 armor, and the Cloak of Eternity costs only mats worth of 100g or so.
This cloak looks like my grandpa's dressing gown. I reckon it would look good on him, and he could do with the stamina.
Hi im a Warrior and i use this cloak. *Blushes and hides in a corner
I got this cloak last night & Im a warr. I don't see a problem with a warr off-tanking with this. Granted the druid running kara in our guild is healing spec'd so it would have been a waste on him. Yeah some shield block & dodge on this would be awsome but the armor is nice.
this cloak is good for both, anyone who says otherwise is probably a delusional idiot.
Seeing that avoidance isn't much of an issue because of shield block, most warriors should want this cape. More stam, and more armor. It all helps.
LOL $%^&*!s ever heard of effective health. Id roll on this for my warrior and anyone else who rolls gl to them.
Whoever is your guild's MT gets priority on this one, warrior or druid. The relatively high armour and lack of block / block value makes the relative benefit higher for a druid, but you'd be mad to say this isn't a very nice warrior cloak too.
I would love to know whether this item or Devilshark Cape (
) would be better for a warrior with the unbuffed stats of:
Thanks in advance :)
I use Devilshark Cape but if this one dropped I would roll on it. Since all our guilds druids are resto it only makes sense.
That is all.
Honestly, it is a fine tanking piece, and fine looking, at that. I wouldn't mind having it on my Prot Warrior. The fact, though, is that warriors have to look at alot more than straight armor and defense.
Personally, I still use my Devilshark Cloak. Decent stats, some shield block, and a dodge enchant. Works well. My furball OT doesn't get to use a shield. First time I see this drop, it's all his. Cloaks with the fat armor bonus are going to do alot more for fuzzy-wuzzy with his armor modifier than it will for me, while I get to hide behind my shield.
Drops? Be reasonable. In my eyes, I'd rather see it on my druid tanks than my own warrior. Not that I wouldn't mind wearing it, but who's going to benefit the most? Remember, anything that helps a member of your raid do his job better, is a benefit to the entire raid.
I'm a 70 Protection Paladin, and it dropped the other night for me. It's a really nice cloak, and it would have been sharded if I didn't take it. The health bonus is pretty nice for those of us who like to stack stamina, not that Bear's ever have to worry about stamina. For a Paladin, this cloak is great for Heroic dungeons, or for rep grinding a vanilla 70 dungeon like BM, or SH, but on a raid I still switch back to my devilshark cape. With that armor multiplier though, this must be absolutely insane on Bear tanks.
Just clearing something up, this isn't a "druid cloak" or "warrior cloak", this is a TANK cloak.
Druid will get 500%+ armor from this (400% bear form bonus), HOWEVER druids have such high armor that, due to armor's diminishing returns, they will get a similar damage reduction to warriors/paladins.
You see, armor gives less and less returns for each additional point. 1000 armor gives ~10% mitigation, and 2000 armor gives ~16% mitigation (not ~20%). It works like this so that there's no way to become immune to physical attacks (10000 armor would become 100% mitigation, and this is certainly not the case).
How does this apply to druids vs plate? druids will get ~2000 armor from this cloak, but at the already high levels of armor they have (going from 18000 to 20000, this could mean around 1% mitigation. Plate wearers would get ~400 armor from this, but since they will probably have much lower armor(going from 13000 to 13400) they will get a very similar benefit (~1%).
I suggest this cloak to any and every tank, to use with an armor set. (yes, tanks should have several sets... high armor for Heavy hitters, high avoidance for fast hitters, high threat for farming runs, etc)
If all 3 tank classes are rolling on this, give it to the druid, since at this point gear-wise warriors should be focusing more on avoidance and pallies on uncrushability.
