it all depends on your current +hit ratings, if you already have sufficient +hit, then blood knight war cloak is better, and easy to obtain (25 badges)
Hunter lewt, imo.
Swap a +agi enchant on this, and it's sexy for pretty much any spec Hunter. A definite upgrade over my Cloak of Malice, and I personally need the +hit.
According to Cheeky's Hunter DPS Calc, this is better than the Blood Knight Warcloak mentioned above. But as stated before, if you have enough hit already, then Blood Knight Warcloak will be better.
I have this, but I ended up going with the Blood Knight's Cloak because this thing sucks overall if you're at your +hit cap already. (As a feral druid, you only need 5% total +hit, and with the shapechanger's signet ring you get a free +3% already)
This dropped for me last night, I was lucky because the hunter already had it and there was no other melee classes that needed it. I have most of the Kara tanking gear and with the King's Defender I only have +17 hit. So I still saw quite a few misses on the 72 elite trash.
I equipped this cloak and notice a big jump in my TPS. Berg's gear guide list this a the third best aggro tanking cloak in the game according to Tank Points. I highly recommend this for any tank in Kara.
Anything above 115 hit rating should do a hunter fine, so if you're over that then blood knights would suit better. However, seeing as it is 25 badges and there are things you should prioritize over it alot, while drape drops off a joke boss in kara, if you get this drop for you and want to save badges, take this.
Shade of Aran
Well balanced cape of a challenging encounter. A rather rare drop rate will make it kind of hard to acquire, however.
Unfortunately this epic L70 Cape, dropped from one of the hardest bossen in Karqazhan is only a very slight improvement over the blue reward of a not-so-difficult L65 Nagrand Quest. (Delicate green Poncho -
Such an intelligent reply *sigh*
Anyway, nice cloak, dropped last night for us and a rogue won it. Good for all dps classes imo, while druids might skip on this one as it lacks strength.
Good looks as well :)
This is best burst dps cloak for us in game(PVP&5mans). Vengeance is best for sustained dps(Raids)...
If you are using a two handed weapon, or 1 mainhand weapon, IE not dual wielding, then you have a 5% chance to miss on an equal level target. If you are dual wielding then you have a 24% chance to miss. thus the need for tons of hit with rogues, dual wielding shaman, and Fury warriors. hunters, im not sure if your bow counts as a 2h for hit % purposes but i always assumed so simply because you cannot use any other weapon while holding your bow (shooting, not equiped on your character).
Also you will always have a 1% chance to miss no matter how much +hit you have. this is for dual wielding. im not sure on 2handers or single wielding. this means you will no longer see effects after a certain +hit rating.
16 hit = 1% increased chance to hit same level target.
5% base chance to hit.
16 x 18 = 288.
23% chance to hit achieved for rogues at least.
this is why you will not see any respectable rogue with more than 300 hit. the effects are tapered to nonexistence after about 300 because boss mobs are factored as lvl 73. i read somewhere that this raises your chance to miss up to 24.6% but im not sure so i wont say yay or nay on that. EITHER WAY, 288 hit would be the highest id go simply because with that much +hit, you have no doubt sacrificed quite a bit of your other core stats to get your rating that high.
+hit gives 40% more dps from white damage then +crit does, on a point for point basis UNTILL 288 HIT RATING. after that, your wasting your time, in my opinion. as to the previous poster, id like to see a rogue in ANY guild with 1500+ ap, 250+ hit rating, and 27+ crit, that DOESNT have $%^& for stamina. in Gruuls, endurance is key. if you cant take the hits, you cant dps. being dead makes all your +hit and +crit worthless.
i am not the end all be all of information, so get out there and see what items are available to you and work with what you can get. for all intensive purposes:
Not "god gear" in the slightest. a few raid items, and the rest is from heroics, rep, or crafted.
My crit is lacking but with time comes items and with items comes better itemization.
base miss rate for 2H and ranged is 5%. Base miss for dual wield is 24%. Check your Damage as a rogue and realise 60% of your damage comes from normal melee attacks, not special attacks.
You need ~8% +hit to never miss on a special, vs raid bosses, but every extra point up to +24% will increase your DPS more than crit and AP. Crit and AP can be increased by pots/buffs/trinkets etc... there is no substitue for +hit. This for rogues/fury warriors/dualwielding shammies in PVE.
In PVP +hit doesn't matter so much as most damage is from big bursts from special attacks.
This is an IMBA PVE cloak for any dual wielding class, end of story.
why wont this drop for me :(
this cloak is amazing for any dual wielding class. I personally am still waiting for shade to drop this for me. Btw any raiding rogue shold be focusing on hit before anything else, i have 250 and the talents from combat mastery. Hit>AP>Crit>AGL>Stam
kanasta, or whatever your name is. white dammage does alot more than your yellow does i mean think for a second... my crushing blows (and im a combat rogue with talon of azurha and merc offhand) hit for ATLEAST 1000 dammage and my sinisters can crit to 1600 and since im always doign white dammage hitting 600-900 non crush and sinister hardy critting wich makes it 800-1100 means ur white dammage does alot more
(since your white dammage is always happening expect for when you use your yellow dammage skills
ROGUES YES. however for FURY warriors you need 200+ in hit rating.
And it is true. Well equiped rogues that know how to do some SERIOUS damage stack in hit rating. Why? to simply get more out of their hits. It's so simple. You hit more = more energy = more damage = you win and everyone loves you.
White damage is roughly 50-60% of your DPS. Hit is unbelievably important for a Rogue. For endgame raiding you should be aiming for 200+ hit rating. I'm currently sitting on 300 hit rating, 1900 AP and 20% crit. I usually top 25 man damage meters.
Sealfate. Them knowing how to play is them getting their gear to 200+ hit. A rogue that is 3rd in Kara DPS is likely awful unless they are standing next to two classes with way better Gear. If us rogues aren't in 1st we aren't doing our job unless its AOEville. I had Vengence Wrap for a while and this is better in terms of Pure PVE DPS. My Advice is run Kara with 200 to 250Hit for trash and try to get to 300 for bosses. I switch out gear to accomplish this. For 25mans 300+ hit works nicely.
Poonter,just checked,you have 127...with t5 gear,lol.
Stop lying over the internet,i know its easy, but STOP!
The question is, why the %^&* did you even care enough to check?
why not hunters need it? it goes great with hunter t4 set so im taking it.. no matter what, it gives everything a hunter needs
Yes this item is indeed great for a rogue.
But frankly a fury warr can go respec useful.
Also its great for a hunter
- So we only need 80 rating? This cloak is one of a number of items which can be used to get that rating...
- But in fact Hunters need close to 135 rating. Although if you're runnig Kara at this stage then it should be Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory, Dory.
Because stupid little lying kids like Poonterwarr dont need to be posting fake terms just to TRY to look cool...
Just be honest is all im saying, people WILL like you a little bit more.
Got this last night for my rogue. Replaced the Bloodknight War Cloak.
With both cloaks having the +12 agility enchant, you gain a total of 1 agility and a nice chunk of hit rating over the BKWC with the DofDR, but lose about 13 AP and 10 health. Gains of crit are next to nothing, something like .04% if I remember from rating buster, but a gain nonetheless. This item is prioritized over the BKWC because of the hit rating and nothing more for us rogues in my opinion.
