Where do these drop?
Drops from the chest after the Chess event in Karazhan.
To get to the Chess event, you have to kill The Curator, and then clear a lot of trash mobs... Once you do that, you get to the Chess event.
If you dont get it the first time, you will have more than 1 attempt. Good luck ;)
The graphic on these boots matches the graphics for the rest of the Druid T4. Though it's not part of the set officially, it seems it's meant to be the T4 boots.
These are okay boots, but they seem to be lacking in +healing, my blue boots I got from Shattered Halls had the same +healing, and some mana per 5. But these had a little bit more stam/int, and a couple gem slots, so I got these.
(I don't care about the spirit since I'm a paladin :S)
Well worth a look for non-holy pallies able to farm the Chess event. Boots of Valiance are not bad, but the spell crit is largely wasted on a prot pally who only heals on occasion. Socket these with Royal Nightseyes as mentioned in other comments, and you have more healing than Valiance with mana regen instead of crit.
These boots got a new look in the latest patch. They're more thick now. Uploaded a Picture.
I here Compare the Vindicator's Kodohide Boots to the other two PVE boots.
When i got them, i realized they are the almost equivalent of Forestlord Striders -->
When you equip each of these boots, and have 2x Royal Nightseye in the Forestlord Striders, which give 4mana/5,
then you put on vitality aswell. (Which gives 4mana/4health per 5sec)
If you put on the Vindicator's Kodohide Boots and add Vitality to these, then these two boots are almost identical in mana/5. The Vindicators get about 2mana/5 more.
The ammount of mana/5 u then get from the 19 spirit makes these two boots with the above stats come out as equals with 12mana/5.
This i found to be the fact, when i tried to swap between these boots, and the mana/5 while casting did not neither increase nor decrease.
Given the 2xRoyal Nightseyes you also get more healing, as you first of all get the set bonus of +7healing on the Forestlord Striders, which gives a total of 80 healing on the Forestlord Striders, versus these Vindicator's Kodohide Boots with 75 healing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND neglecting the set bonus here, as pretty much the only choice you should put in these boots are Royal Nightseye. Teardrop Living Ruby would give more healing, but then you loose out on 4mana/5 only to gain 18 healing. It's not worth it.
The stamina is higher yes, but 19 spirit is a better stat than 3 intellect.
The result is that Forestlord Striders win the duel as the best PVE-boots for healing. But, for PVP, these boots, with their Resillience stat is much better.
There is just 2 pair of boots that are better for PVE,
- Orca-Hide Boots.
These are currently the best boots in the game for a PVE druid. They have basicly same stats as the Forestlord Striders, except socket bonus is 3 spirit. This equals to about ~~+/-0.5mana/5 in regen while casting.
The healing is bigger with Royal Nightseyes x 2, than any of the other two boots, and u get a tiny tiny bit more mana regen from them.
The best ones are from MH, which dont have mana/5 in themselves, but on the other hand have loads of spirit, which with intensity gives about 7.22mana/5. Given the other stats on those boots. They come out as
I don't see why classes don't aim for their own gear. This is clearly a resto druid item. This with 2x Sparkling Star of Elune would be <3 When I get these I will have over 560+ unbuffed spirit and 1350 healing. In raid I'm close to hitting the 1000 mark on my spirit (when I use my trinket that increase spirit by 130)
PS: I hope Blizzard change the Tree of Life aura to "increase healing DONE" and not "increase healing RECEIVED" that would atleast make my high spirit really wanted by healers =)
When I get these I will socket them with Sparkling Star of Elune for sure (for the spirit and not for the set bonus) Maybe the +9heal/+4spi from the Skyguard Raid on one of the sockets.
You have no idea what you are talking about, for a Druid, +healing and +spirit are key. Mp5 is not a Druid stat. These should be socketed with +9 spirit or +heal/spirit (shadow pearl).
These don't seem to be any better then
Maybe if you socket with some epic gems, but even then...
You are aware of that it's kara, a instance that most half-decent guilds stoped raiding around a year ago right ?
It's not odd that the newer items are on par with theese, yes even pvp items. If you want to experience the glory of kara items i'm afraid your abit to late.
Yea, they drop from the Chess Event in Kara.
where do they drop from?
If I remember correctly, I got my pair from the Chess Event in Kharazan.
Also got these for my shammy...
These can be found in the loot chest after winning the game in Chess event in Karazhan. Tip: 2x
is great choice for these. In my realm the raw gems usually cost only 40-50g each. Even if the gems would be 100g each it's still worth it, take into account the socket bonus which would give a nice +25 healing and 4mp5 with these 2 gems. Paired with Vitality enchant, who cares if they're not mail :)
Considering that the best pair of mail healing boots you can get before SSC are not even epic, I'd say this is the best thing a resto shaman can get before you head into Serpentshrine. Hell, I'm wearing the cloth healing boots from Shade because I can't find anything better. Really hoping I can get a hold of these leather ones.
These boots match the malorne set almost exactly.
