I guess its alright, the 1 minute thing really could be 30 seconds though or at least put some +healing/regen on it.

it's a good thing to keep the first innervate till you're under 20% then, have it proc, then innervate

does it come up every minute while you are under 20% or only when you are above 20% and go below?

this doesnt seem very good, it takes up a trinket slot and is only worth 600 mana every minute and not even that. Any healer should pass on this, worth more disenchanted.

A good use of this trinket would be Divine Favour from a Paladin. Once you approach pass 20% and the proc activates, cast Divine Favour and use a Holy Light. The spell will crit, cost only 240 mana, and you will end up with a net gain of 600 mana.
The unfortunate thing about this trinket is if you are spamming fast heals, you could go below 20%, activate the proc and already consume it before you even knew it.

This trinket is mediocre in my opinion - it does absolutely nothing until you reach 20% mana, whereas almost every other trinket is useful for the -entire- fight. Useful in some situations, yes; most fights may be better off a trinket like:
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=24127
if you are a JC (especially shamans, as the effect is classified as a totem, and will restore 1200 instead of 900 mana if you are spec'd for improved mana spring totem ) or
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28370
The bangle is like a mini bluedragon, but it procs much more often (15% vs. 2% on the blue dragon), so the regen is much more constant. Bonus for being able to increase innervate/evoc regen and the click effect while the proc is active is also a good combo.
The longer the fight goes, the longer and more often you will be at <20% mana, so this trinket gains in use with length of fight. (Compare a 5 minute fight with 1 use at 10 mp5, or 10 minutes with 4 uses at 20 mp5). Also, it may be important to note that the trinket's effect may not register after the cooldown cycles if your mana is already below 20%; it may have to rise above then drop below 20% again for it to register.

In fact I got this trinket by thinking this trinket would give 600mana for each heal spell but it's not that !!! it's juste 600 less on A spell not on many so this trinket would give you one extra heal every minits when you get below 20% mana ... useless

Following feepit, above, on mp5 equivalences:
1.4s cast time -> (450 / (1.4 * 50)) * 5 -> 32 mp5
1.5s cast time -> (450 / (1.5 * 50)) * 5 -> 30 mp5
2.0s cast time -> (450 / (2.0 * 50)) * 5 -> 22.5 mp5
2.5s cast time -> (450 / (2.5 * 50)) * 5 -> 18 mp5
3.0s cast time -> (450 / (3.0 * 50)) * 5 -> 15 mp5
Another way to look at this proc is by mana per cast. On average, after 100 casts this trinket will proc 2 times for 900 mana, or 9 mana per cast. This holds true for instant cast heals as well, so I don't see any reason to think that this trinket will be limited to spells with cast times.
0.0s cast time = 40 casts per minute -> 360 mp60 = 30 mp5 (instant casts)
1.5s cast time = 40 casts per minute -> 360 mp60 = 30 mp5
2.0s cast time = 30 casts per minute -> 270 mp60 = 22.5 mp5
2.5s cast time = 24 casts per minute -> 216 mp60 = 18 mp5
3.0s cast time = 20 casts per minute -> 180 mp60 = 15 mp5
Obviously the theoretical casts per minute will be a bit higher than what you can achieve in-game due to lag, etc.
Remember that this trinket also has 44 +healing in addition to these huge "effective mp5" numbers, so comparisons with Shard of the Scale, for instance, may not be appropriate.

Yes I'm starting to think that there is an internal cooldown on this. After a couple of Black Morass runs to test the new version of this trinket, the proc rate seems lower than a base 2%.
Confirm/Deny ? What are people's experience with this ?

I tend to agree. It doesn't proc enough to make it worth the slot.
I think I will go back to either the Bangle of Endless Blessings or the Lower City Prayerbook for more reliable results. Even my Shard of the Scale would probably give better mileage.
There must be some kind of internal timer on this that takes the proc rate below 2%.
It would be nice if there were some kind of add-on to track statistics on trinket procs...

Ravus
I can confirm there is NO global cooldown, I've had back-to-back procs (using rank 1 Greater Heal aswell, so rank has no effect I'm pretty sure)
if it wasn't for the passive healing aswell this just wouldn't be worth having, 2% is a very low proc chance (as anyone who used darkmoon card: blue dragon for very long will tell you).
Only bad thing is IF this procs with clearcast, and your spell costs nothing, it still uses up the proc -.- which means if you get extra lucky you get unlucky. which sucks.
Personally i think they should buff this.. maybe lower it to 300 man, or even 250, but make it for all spells cast in the next 15 seconds, not just the first :p.
Oh well :) its still pretty good.

Just as good imo. CD is 1 min.
26 more healing and
with a cast time of 1.5 it takes 220 mana every min or a little over 18 mp/5 if you pop it every time the CD is up. ofc on bigger heals the benefit is small, but overall i think its greatly comperable.

I blew threw 3 bars of full mana doing flash heals ( about 27 flash heals per full mana, so 81 spell casts total ), and got 1 proc.
This thing is a piece of junk. 1 proc every 50 casts just isn't worth it.
Bangle of Endless Blessings + Scarab of the Infinite Cycle are much better choices for a priest.

I just picked this up for my priest. It's funny you mention Blue Dragon, Ravus, since that's by far the best druid/priest mana return trinket out there. I think Eye of Gruul could be similar, but harder to model.
It does go without saying that chain-casting renew, flash heal, and prayer of mending the Eye is good. 22-30 mp5 is good and the +heal means it surpases my shard of the scale there. But we don't just chain-cast small spells. Here's where the fun begins.
The key here is that free spells don't count towards the five second rule. As a priest I already have two means of casting free spells -- inner focus and clearcasting. Chaining the two together means I have 3-5 seconds of casting done that doesn't count towards the five second rule. If I'm casting greater heal that means I get two ticks of full spirit regen while casting the third greater heal before it goes off -- without any break in my casting. If I slow my casting and spread out the spells (generally a clearcasting greater heal, pause, inner focus greater heal, pause, whatever I need to cast to catch up) I can get out of the five second rule for 4-6 seconds and pick up an extra 600-900 mana on top of my usual mp5 regen.
Eye of Gruul adds a third free spell -- although it has to be a prayer of mending or one rank down on flash heal or renew. I'll probably just downrank flash heal on my main cast bar permanently and use that on the Gruul procs where I'm trying to regen mana. With a little careful practice I bet the regen of the Eye could be a lot higher than what you're modeling.

So far I am very disappointed in this trinket. As a ToL Druid I had to drain 4 pools of over 10k mana casting Lifebloom at 177 mana a pop. I even used my Lower City Prayerbook each time the cooldown was up. I had but one lousy proc.
This was non-stop casting, not worrying about mobs, sitting in Shat, watching my buffs like a hawk. I even use DOTimer, and have it set-up so it shows DoTs/HoTs on my screen for a few seconds after they expire. So, I couldn't blink and have casted it away and not noticed.
It took so damn long to proc I thought the tooltip was mislabeled and this was a trinket similar to Ribbon of Sacrifice... off direct heals only. So, very disappointed in my waste of DKP. Maybe this item will be buffed, because frankly for what I have at the moment I prefer Lower City Prayerbook and my damn old Rejuvenating Gem from BWL.

Paladin here, replaced it with Essence of the Martyr some days ago (Rejuv Gem in the other slot).
I assume that you can display the proc more prominently by using an addon like ProcWatch, otherwise it will show up unnoticed in your buff bar. The proc may occur when you don't want/need to use Holy Light but a Flash instead. You could still use a downranked Holy Light (Rank 7 costs 465 MP) to avoid (too much) overheal but still get the full 450 MP back.
Anway I just want more control over a trinket, either totally passive or a "Use" effect.

I'll have to agree... I need some sort of mod to watch this proc, but I end up spamming heals and watching the bar and it's only procced once, and by the time I noticed it I wasted the heal on some Flash of Light spam. It's a pretty useless trinket overall.

Quick and dirty comparison from a ToL-Druids perspective, but useful for priests as well.
General assumptions:
- You are a druid, therefore your mana gained every 2s-tick is: spirit/4.5+15 (according to wowwiki) (priests: spirit/4+12.5)
- You got 600 spirit with raid-buffs. (I usually have around 700.)
- You have 3/3 Intensity.
- During the fight, you are always in the five-second-rule (5SR.
- You cast 15 spells per minute. (approx. castrate if you keep Rejuvenation and 3x Lifebloom on a single target)
------------------------------------------
Eye of Gruul
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28823
* no internal cooldown assumed
* You make full effect of the proc by saving the full 450 mana.
15 (casts) * 0.02 (procrate) * 450 (mana) / 12 = 135 mana/min = 11.25 mp5
------------------------------------------
Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19288
* no internal cooldown assumed
* possibility of procs while the buff is up ignored (highly unlikely)
additional mana per proc = 600/4.5+15 (spirit based mana regen per 2s tick)/2 * 15 (sec duration) * 0.85 (difference from 3/3 intensity) = 1087 mana
15 (casts) * 0.02 (procrate) * 1087 mana = 326 mana/min = 27 mp5
------------------------------------------
Bangle of Endless Blessings
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28370
* 10% procrate
* internal cooldown capping the ppm at around 1
additional mana per proc = 600/4.5+15 (spirit based mana regen per 2s tick)/2 * 15 (sec duration) * 0.15 (additional spirit based mana regen) = 192 mana
15 (casts) * 0.1 (procrate) = 1.5 ppm but due to cap: 1 * 192 mana = 192 mana/min = 27 mp5 = 16 mp5
* Use effect: Innervate yourself with macro while buff is up. 1 time in 10 minute fight. Any other uses ignored. (!!!) Also I have not checked if you get bonus spirit on the buff from Living Spirit:
130/4.5 (spirit mana regen per 2 sec)/2 * 20 (sec duration) * 5 (innervate) = 1444 mana
1444 mana/10min = 144 mana/min = 12 mp5 (so 28mp5 together)
------------------------------------------
Summary:
Eye of Gruul: 11.25 mp5 (maximum effect!)
Blue Dragon : 27 mp5
Bangle of Endless Blessings: 28 mp5 (combined effects)
(15 casts/min)
Eye of Gruul: 30 mp5 (Rejuvenation Rank 13 spam in Treeform > only saving 332 mana per proc = 22 mp5)
Blue Dragon : 72 mp5 (since ppm is still only 0.8 buffs not overlaying is save to assume)
Bangle of Endless Blessings: 28 mp5 (capped ppm)
(40 casts/min - instants)
------------------------------------------
Pitfalls of this comparison:
* On one hand I assumed that you are in the 5SR throughout the fight, which is likely not the case. Of course spirit-based mana regen recovery through Blue Dragon and BoEB shines in this scenario. On the other hand one can argue that parts of a fight in which you are often not in the 5SR, are not that crucial anyway (from a healers perspective) and having 600 spirit will help you out there.
* This comparison is more useful for fights (or phases of fights) in which you put out some serious healing likely using Regrowth as well. That's why I assumed the maximum effect on the Eye (HT/Regrowth-Spam). If it makes a 100something mana cast a free cast the effect is greatly diminished. (!!!)
* I assumed non-overlapping buffs. This would be harder to model, but would lead to a problem only with the Blue Dragon-Card, due to the internal CD of BoEB and consumption of the buff by the next cast with the Eye of Gruul.
* You will be able to use the "Use" on BoEB a couple of times in a fight. You might innervate other players.
But still: Different strokes for different folks!

well I use this alot because I am a tree druid and I cast a spell every second the GCD is up. 15 casts per minute seems pretty low to me for a tree druid who is casting mostly instant spells.
I have 800 spirit fully raid buffed so the bangle is more or less useless to me; as I already get a full bar from innervating myself without the need for the bangle. I use alc stone with the EOG and putting the bangle in there seems like a big waste. I also do not ever innervate other people. I have a BD card and decided to compare the two as best I could:
Eye of Gruul Proc Calculations from 9/19 WWS parse:
11 minute karathress, 5 procs = 2250; 204/minute or 17mp5
10 minute lurker, 5 procs = 2250; 225/minute or 18.75mp5.
tack on a +44 healing passive ability - here are the effects of adding +44 healing to TOL spells, (including TOL aura) for example:
a 435 Regrowth tick would be 441.
a 887 Rejuvenation tick would be 901.
a 217 Lifebloom stack of 1 would be 222.
a 652 Lifebloom stack of 3 would be 665.
a 1501 Lifebloom bloom would be 1522.
Edit: After using the blue dragon card all 9/20 to do this comparison, here are a couple of calculations from another WWS parse:
Alar - 17 minutes, 4 procs, = 6000 = 352.94/minute = 29.41 mp5
Gruul - 7 minutes, 1 proc =1500 = 214.28/minute =17.85 mp5
VR - 5 minutes, 2 procs = 3000 = 600/minute =50 mp5.
Maulgar - 4 minutes, 3 procs = 4500 = 1125/minute = 93.75 mp5
Is one better than the other? It depends on class & spec. I'm a spirit stacking TOL druid so these comparisons would have totally different results, I think, if I was not stacked on spirit.

Is it possible that it only procs when damage is actually healed?
That might explain why some druids that were testing it outside of combat were seeing terrible procrates, and others were saying it proc'd a lot while healing in raid settings.
Has anyone ever seen it proc off of a "tick" instead of the "cast"?
(I know the tooltip says cast, but we all know how useful tooltips are for deriving actual ingame mechanics)

This trinket only shines on Holy priests using Circle of Healing and Resto shamans using chain heal.
If CoH hits all 5 targets, the proc rate is 10%, making it a very nice trinket to have.
If Chain heal hits all 3 targets, the proc rate is 6%.
For any other healers, 2% is just too low. Paladins/Druids can find better trinkets than this.

From a <tol> resto druid's perspective, any item, especially a trinket, that boosts your spirit / mp5 / intellect is not needed. The most mana efficient and most beneficial healing spells to cast are lifebloom / rejuv and swiftmend. Even without a Spriest / Shaman in your group, and while constantly casting, I find it hard to believe that druids are running out of mana even for long fights. Using mana pots on cd and innervate, i cant even drop below 40% mana. My druid is in SSC / EYE, but ive talked to many druids in BT and its the same for them. +Healing is the #1 stat and its the only stat a tree druid really needs. (Along with some stamina)
If your raid puts you in the main tank's group or a group that will take a lot of dmg, then spirit is useful to boost +healing, but it only goes that far.
P.S. Druids, give your innervate to a priest, you shouldn't even need it.

Well everyone's entitled to their opinion. I'm a pally that's just started T6, and from memory I got this on our second Gruul kill a few months back. Seeing as I'm constantly casting, I do see this proc fairly often. And sure, it may not proc at perfectly ideal times, but then, mana savings are mana savings.
While there are other trinkets I would prefer over this (Malacrass' trinket, Memento of Tyrande), this is still a good *mana conservation* trinket for the level at which you get it. If you want raw +healing this is not the trinket for you - but remember, +healing is not everything.

Wow....Alla's info is wrong here. It only makes the spell cost 450 mana. Also, you people have some messed up facts. In one fight, I had it proc at 76% mana, so you can be well above 20%. I haven't timed the procs, but a 1 min invis CD doesn't sound like how Blizzard works, instead it is a 2% chance on cast. As a resto druid. This normally pops 3-5 times on bossfights. In Treeform, it makes Lifebloom and Rejuv free (the casts DON'T restore mana) or my Regrowth really cheap. If I notice the proc, I use regrowth to get the full effect, if not I got a free heal. Trinket Rocks!

the only class i could see this trinket benefiting is druids. think about it. Lifebloom; Lifebloom; Lifebloom; etc and each Lifebloom cost like 70 mana and there instant. In a raid encounter if iyou hit 100 lifeblooms this would cost 100 + 70 mana = 7000 mana but it would proc 2x theoretically and that would be about 920 mana saved. So thats not a bad ratio at all.
Any other class and this trinket blows major ass period.

Just got it tonight.
- Any spell that takes you below 20% will cause it to proc.
- If you are below 20% when the minute times out, and you cast a spell, it will proc... (It only procs when you cast a spell that takes you below 20% (even if you were blow 20% when you started casting it)).
- 600 Mana, this is the BASE spellcost, before any talents. So, "Improved Healing" which reduces healing spell cost by 15%, means that this trinket actually reduces mana cost by 510. When the eye has procced, the tooltip on GH4 shows a mana cost of 54 (654 base - 600), even though my modified cost on that spell is 556 mana. So unfortunately, this keeps me in the Five Second Rule. Not sure if this will be fixed, or if it is as intended.
As it is, I'll be sticking with Shard of the Scale.

When your mana drops below 20%, your next heal cast within 15 seconds costs 600 less mana.
Now, does that mean:
a: Only the point at which your mana drops below 20%
b: Whenver you are below 20% mana
A would make this trinket almost useless as it would just save you 600 mana once per mana bar .
B would make this trinket a trinket worthy of being purple.
You have to watch the way Blizzard says things so I am not sure how to take this. Can anyone who has this trinket comfirm which way it works please? Thank you very much!

I ran tests on this trink for 6 hours yesterday and found that it doesnt proc off each heal spell CAST but every time you heal some one. For instance i spammed Circle of healing for a good 3 hours straight and on 4 occasions i had it double proc off the one cast (had the help of 4 bank alts to test this) I would see the buff Healing Trance (the procs buff name) appear twice in my combat log and also recorded an approximate 10% proc rate when hitting 5 targets so for fights such as kazzak this will proc ALOT. So in my oppinion for Resto shamans and priests (ie. chain heal and PoH CoH and PoM) this would be a very valuable trinket.

what is 2%? its every 50th-ish heal.
now lets do some math 50x3.0sec(greater heal)= it procs once 150 seconds for greater heal spamming priest.
150 seconds and 60 seconds is not the same.
Also mana reduction is evidently nerfed from 600 to 450.
For palys who spam flash of light its same, every 50th-ish flash it will proc, means 75 seconds of spam. But it doesnt make any sense to wear trinket for 2% and get 1 free flash once a fight.

consider that a number of people who complain about the trinket may not have discovered its full potential.
as a holy priest, i managed to get this trinket after a number of other healers passed to save their points.
i must say it's one of the best healing trinkets i've ever had,
if for the sole reason that it's just one more way to stay in the five second rule that much longer
--combined with holy concentration and timed inner focuses, i practically never run out of mana in raids.
simply use the proc on a downgraded flash heal or, if you must, a free hot; staying in the FSR is a lot more mana regen than if you just used the proc to lower the mana cost of a more expensive spell.

why on earth would you want to use the proc on a cheap spell.

He means that any spell cast that has its mana cost reduced to 0 does not put you in the 5 second rule (which nullifies spirit regen for 5 seconds). If you cast a heal that costs 450 mana or less when this thing procs, your spell not only costs nothing, but you'll also continue to spirit regen.

this trinket owns for priest with coh. it has a chance to proc off each person healed... makes it very good

i used this trinket for about two months havent uneqquipped it at all. well apart from solo dps play. im counting now, less then 10 proccs in total from it. is it just my bad luck or is this trinket awfull for holy priests? i been wanting to give it a chance but tbh seems like the scarab might just be a better choice.

So this procs reducing cost of spells by 450 for 15 secs, you hit your divine illumination as a paladin wait 1.2 secs for a global CD say roughly 2.5secs of proc gone so 12.5 secs of free holy light assume first cast 2.5 secs before grace kicks in then 2 seconds for each cast after that's 6 free holy light casts while gaining MP5 max for casting 0 cost. (not sure about this part) Also gaining back mana for potential crits on these casts. Uber for heavy hitting neccesary overheal spams such as the fight with Gruul himself. this will save you roughly half your mana pool and gain you back more. Sure none of this is a guarnteed to happen when and where you needed, but still it has alot of potential.

this is nice for raid healing in 8-10 minute fights. even 4 or 5 procs means you can save upwards of around 2k mana. my problem with the scarab is that in raid healing, as a holy priest, everything is mostly a pre-cast with a /stopcasting. when the
scarab of the infinite cycle
procs, it moves my greater heal from 2.5 to 2.17 seconds, and in a focused fight there is the potential i dont see the proc and waste a heal, since i am maybe not able to stop casting quick enough, along with the short 6 second proc means a lot of the haste is wasted anyway.

Ok ok ok... your are all looking @ this as a Primary mana saving trinket...
Consider this, Penent of the Violet Eye off shade is a 40 int trinket right? well if i know how to multiply 40*15 is only 600 mana... its proc is nice but its a use and if your constantly using this trinket your spending too much time thinking about mana and not about healing the raid thats 3 secs you could have saved a guy from dieing...
44 healing is just a bonus in any length of a fight an auto proc is always more benifical than a use just because of the smaller CD.
I am a resto druid and i have determined that this trinket paird with the Ribbon of Sacrifice is probably the ultimate combo Pre BT.
Consider this as well most good end game fights are highly dependent on mana of the healers and their mana regen.
so explain to me how a 2 min cd is better than a 10 sec CD and healing... its not save your breath
if u really wanna debate me on that
Boulderfist- Ciberus
otherwise its an amazing trinket

I have the Pendant, I have the Eye, I have the Earring from lurker and ribon of sacrafice.
I always use the Eye of Gruul and swap Earring / Ribon as my role changes from raid heal / mt heal.
If I am raid healing, I am frequently spamming Circle of Healing (being two holy priests in raid). This procs based on cast... Circle counts as 5 casts.. not 1. So, I proc more often.
Wait.. It gets better.
Circle only costs me 423 mana with talents.. so this is a free cast.
I can then tap Inner Focus for another free cast.
I am now OO5SR and have already start regen during the boss fight if needed. If I am mana ok, up comes a long Gheal which I get to have full mana regen until it lands.
I find I get more mana from this, than from the pendant. AND I don't have to tricket-tap and am on uber-lazy mode.
For non-boss fights, mana isn't an issue and the larger pool from the pendant is nice... but I don't really need the larger pool for non-boss fights anyway.

This + the Priest Lurker trinket is godly for CoH priests.. as the poster above me states, it has 5 chances per CoH to proc. :D

For shamans I can confirm that the trinket still procs per healed target of Chain Heal in TBC Classic.
I had three warlocks lifetap and healed them.
170 casts
504 targets healed
11 procs
-> 2.18% chance per target
