Exalted version of the caster dps ring in Hyjal Summit.
Linked to the Scale of Sands reputation.
The current PTR patch has added rep to the trash waves in Hyjal (About 3 rep per mob on the first wave). Not sure if they still give rep at revered, but if they do it would make these rings slightly easier to get.
Also might be worth noting that these rings have the highest iLevel in the game barring the Warglaives of Azzinoth and Tempest Keep legendaries.
Does the buff last 15 secs like indicated in the buff's tooltip oder 10 secs like in the item description?
For the caster rings, reputation with The Scale of the Sands -
Currently the only reputation gained from Friendly to Exalted is through killing bosses in Hyjal Summit, but in a future patch (2.2), there will be reputation awarded for killing trash.
What is the proc rate?
Does a single AOE wave set off multiple chances to proc?
No doubt the best caster ring in game for now
But the reputation there is not easy to gain
It takes about 2-3 months for a new comer of hajal to get Exalted.
Can you actually cite where you got that information from please, frmorrison.
Confirmed, This item along with all the other exalted rings have a 45sec hidden cooldown on their proc from the buff fades, 55 second after the proc happens.
Highest Item-Level item in-game(Along with the other rings), excluding the "Twin glaives of Azzinoth" and the Kael'Thas encounter weapons.
Elemental Shaman note for arenas : This ring procs off Purge.
In case anyone was wondering.
So, if the proc happens at a rate of 10% and has a 45 second internal cooldown, would it be safe to assume that it will be up for ~10s out of every minute, thereby amounting to an overall addition of 15 +dmg?
for those wondering, the proc seems to not be a magic effect.
meaning it cannot be spellstolen/purged off
plz put screenshots for every item thank you.
Obviously, this is the fine ring from the Scale of the Sands reputation. Lore-wise, having even a droplet of the Well of Eternity is amazing.
This epic is bordering on Legendary - there's a lot of epic rings that aren't even close to as good. Anyone who gets this should expect it to last right up to level 80.
Ilvl152, that's better than Illidan/Archimonde drops.
does this proc stack with other procs, e.g. from the spellfire set? and can you still use another trinket then?
then dmg boost could be like
+ spellstrike set (92 i think)
(robe of the elder scribes, 130)
(shiffar's nexus horn, 225)
(Icon of the silver crescent, 155)
=692 extra dmg bonus for 10 secs (but you would need a lot of luck to have the first 3 proc at once^^
any experiences in that direction?
Trinkets and procs will both work, i am not sure if 2 procs at once will work, however.
Icon will need no luck b/c it's a use effect just need for the other 2 to proc. I can see this happening on Morogrim fight on the murlocs. And a "Chance on hit" trinket can stack with a "Use" effect trinket, and the same goes with the robe and ring.
The real question is if it has a hidden cooldown, like the nexus horn does, or if it can truly be up all the time, like the arcane madness buff from 4 piece tier 5.
-Lorelie of Stonemaul
This is godly for arcane mages. Each arcane missile hit can proc this thing. That, and the initial cast, thus having it a proc chance of 6 times / cast! IMBA! Arcane owns! <3
The best mage caster ring in the game. Legendary indeed, the spell damage bonus off of this ring alone rivals set bonuses found on other gear. And the stats are not bad either :D
This ring is a quest reward for a quest that is turned in when you achieve Exalted with the Scale of the Sands faction. Reputation with the Scale of the Sands is increased by killing mobs in the Mount Hyjal 25 man raid instance.
Your first run into Hyjal will give you the "basic" version of this ring, and each subsequent increase in reputation will grant you a better ring reward, culminating in this absolutely amazing ring. This is the only ring that has the damage proc, pushing it far beyond all others in terms of leetness!
prcs all the time, even on stuff that doesnt make sense
example: when i throw my booterang at a disobedient peon (netherwing daily) it'll proc
To reply to people who say "In raids I won't be getting hit and if I do I will get 1 shotted and we will wipe anyways" Ok so I have like 10k hp fully buffed in raids, every single boss I have encountered in Hyjal does some aoe gay crap that hurts, usually 3-5k dmg. I need to be able to survive at least 2 hits of anything. Also in Hyjal, the mobs in general that I have to sheep (I am a mage) break, and hit me usually before I can re-sheep them. There are also tons of AOE packs and i occasionally pull agro but I dont realize it until i get hit once, which could be 3-4k dmg per mob. If i can survive 2 hits and get a quick heal to let me survive a 3rd, i can iceblock or a tank can usually taunt off of me. MAGES NEED HP, WE ARE LIKE GIMP WARLOCKS WITH LESS HP!
How to get this ring?
The answer of this question is no longer obvious, since in patch 2.4 the attunument for Mount Hyjal was removed.
This ring is reward for reputation with Scale of the Sands indeed, but to be able to get it you need to complete
The Vials of Eternity (Raid)
-kill Kael'Thas(TK one) and Lady Vashj(ssc)
The good news is that now you can go and kill kael and vashj without to clear all the other bosses.
ya it sounds so easy to just run into ssc and kill vashj and kael lol
and btw as a 21/40 lock i still wear spellstrike legs (but no hood), only because the hit/crit/dmg and 3 socks is great for it, i just waiting for the improved version of them to drop off of one of the bosses in hyjal. Forget wat they are called
There's some interesting math involved here. So we know the proc of this ring has a 45 second internal cooldown, and it grants 95 spelldamage lasting 10 seconds. Let's consider the situation when the ring would proc every time after it's cooldown expired, during a three minute period (180 seconds). In this case, we have a number of 4 procs (4x45=180), where we have 95 spellpower granted for 4x10=40 seconds. So we have 95 spellpower generated during 40 seconds, and we need to find out X, the equivalent in spellpower it would take to make it last 180 seconds. 40x95=Xx180, where X=(40x95)/180=190/9=21.(1). This simply tells us that the ring's proc, is the equivalent of a passive 21 spellpower bonus, and adding 34 we can conclude that the ring grants a total of 55 spellpower bonus. Simply put, the best spelldamage caster ring there is, but not necessarily with the highest dps.
