One of not many things from G'eras for a Hunter/Rogue which can't be easy replaced with Heroic/Low raid tier instances loot. CD is 2 minutes.
This is another generic AP trinket with significantly higher numbers than anything else you can get. With a 2 minute cooldown, you can effectively have the buff up 1/6th of the time, making it equivalent to an average of 45 AP for the Use portion. Thus, 115 AP. Of course, a good rogue or feral druid will wait for their energy bar to fill up before popping this so they can get slightly more attacks off, which in turn balances the fact that you won't use it exactly as it comes off cooldown every time.
This is in my opinion the best rogue item purchased with badges. Compare it with
, if you are sword you easily give up the crit for 70 AP. It also grants you 70 more AP upon use and lasts 5 seconds more. Use this with imp S&D and you have a lethal 20 seconds of white dmg.
Averages to 115 AP over time.
These will be buffed slightly in patch 2.1 to the stats as showed on wowhead. They are currently (2.0):
70 attack power (+2)
Activate 270 attack power (+8)
With the 2.1 changes it averages at 118.(3)ap. that is about the same as the new crusade card
(after it's stacked the card gives 120ap, and it takes 10-20s to stack).
The Bloodlust Brooch is still better for both pve and pvp because you can have it's boost when you need it more (for example the ap bonus is better for bursting with adreanline and blade flurry). It remains to be seen how hard it is to get the Crusader card
Does this item break stealth when it's used ?!
Also this will last for 20 seconds as opposed to the Abacus which is only 10. This will also make instant attacks do more damage when haste won't increase instant attack damage at all. Debatable? Yes. Personally, I'm going to use both as i have 2 trinket slots. O_O
Would it be possible to pop both this and the Abacus of violent odds at the same time? That would give an insane dmg boost
Berserker's Call - new trinket from last boss in Zul'Aman (Zul'Jin) is a next upgrade for this one. It got 90 AP on Equip and 360 AP for 20 secs on active. 2 Min's CD.
This trinket is perfect for arena, it looks like you activated BW and mages will not polymorph you. This brooch is very useful to me as a hunter
I've been debating between this and Hourglass of the Unraveller for a bit, on my warrior. Anyone have some tested data to which would be better arena-wise?
The good thing about the trinket slot is that there really is no global cooldown.
This would be good as Sub rogue to premeditate/shadow step, Garrotere..
Then use this BLOODLUST BROOCH
Throw in a shiv, and then continue on with Rupture now that's a good start.
If your really looking to help out with Garrote get better gear with armor penetration and make sure you have imp. expose armor on the assassination build ( making a good geared rogue remove an extra 1k to over 4k armor, having those 3 dots in the fight can help you out.. and expose armor lasts 30 secs. ). I would rather be a better (bleed/expose) than have better chances to crit esp on warriors.. our white damage alone should tear them up if both of those rogue dots are on.
Just an opinion, here's how I like to get a suprise on them.. of course stealthed/ Premeditate. Garrote> trinks/poisons> Expose armor.. and stealth back to shadowstep kidney>build combos> Rupture.
Cast some ghostly strike/ Evasion ( so he doesnt' make you bleed) and use up the remaining BLOODLUST while he can't touch you... sure &*!@es them off though.
I'm not stating this is the way to go one on one, just a good start. This is good for arena to start off on a warrior because
garrote/rupture= the bleeds are not suppressed with armor, crits like ambush and evis are pointless and a waste of energy.
expose armor = helps focus fire on dps more and makes healers pay attention more than they should with plates/mails users. I love to expose on mails because 3-4k is dropping them an armor bracket alone. and locking them shammies and hunters down with only leathers is just plain DEADLY!
poisons = hope you got crippling on, the most important poison for arena/bg against meelee. that and wound.
All in all giving you still preparation if you want to recycle another crit combo or save if for an emergency. We are not tanks, so main assist and lockdown/cc's (depending on bleeds) are what we do. But popping bloodlust before you stealth and premeditate, shadow is something you should think about when making a macro.
I have 6 different start up combos macro'd on my right action bar (2) using my mouse wheel up/down. With shift and control holding down for the other set of buttons.. why? it's a faster spam with scrolling up/down on the mouse than a certain button, and saves your 1-5 for the normal buttons your use to already! All using prem/shadow step... becuase you have to be stealth to use prem so it just works out just right.
Another good use for feral druids is to macro it to go off right before a Rip. Rip (since patch 2.4) can be applied to almost any mob now. Macroing its use before you use a 4 or 5 combo point rip will increase the damage the rip will do since it scales with attack power as indicated in the tool tip. If you wait until your energy bar is full as SilverWing sugested, then pop the trinket before using Rip, you can have some pretty high Rip ticks. My personal best has been 650 while carrying about 4800 AP, with mangle up.
I just also wanted to say, I saw someone state that most of their damage comes from yellow attacks. While a rogue may get more of their damage from white attacks than druids. I still find white attacks make up 30% of my total damage. While Shred makes up another 30%. Mangle does 10% and Rip will do another 30%. If you manage to keep the 2peice T4 bonus, more attacks will proc the bonus of more energy, meaning you can make more attacks. With the changes to weight stones and the crystalforge trinket, the combined +19 damage per hit scales nicely with 1.0 attack speed or faster. So I would not discount that trinkets use on the basis of our white attacks being negligible.
This Item now makes the
sound when used.
This is the most easily attainable burst trinket for Mutilate rogues, as well as one of the best. (It's even more valuable than Battlemaster trinkets.) It's a good choice since Renataki's was nerfed.
Shadowsong Panther, Berserker's Call, and Ashtongue Trinket of Lethality are the only 3 trinkets that surpass Bloodlust Brooch in delivering burst chains.
This trinket is also a prime choice for Shadowstep rogues.
If you're reluctant to spend 41 badges on this, the Brewfest (from 20 September till 4 October) will give you the opportunity to obtain
Empty Mug of Direbrew
, which has exactly the same stats and use effect.
For classes like Warriors or Rogues, Haste is no better than straight AP or crit rating. It only helps your white attacks which, while they're the bulk of your overall damage output, is not even close to 100%.
This trinket is better than the Abacus by a wide margin.
Haste doesn'tt doesn't help Sinister Strikes, Backstabs, Slams, Mortal Strikes or Bloodthirsts. AP helps everything.
You only go for Haste when you are hit capped and can get it in large sums, and getting significantly more AP is either unfeasible at your point in the game or inefficient (ie. You'd sacrifice too much crit/hit).
Haste is better for rogues, the offhand spec to recovery energy, as for warriors i say crit (really 45% of ur ap isnt going to out dps 25% more haste from flurry thats 25% more attacks therefore 25% more dmg, but if your are 33% crit and u crit 1 in 3 hits then u can focus on haste NOT AP)
Why haste? let me see flurry is ALWAYS UP ur hittting faster and critting faster and faster than you say "o noes im critting getting double rage and hitting/critting extremely fast" being able to spam heroic strike, always have bleed effect, demoralising shout, thunderclap (yes TC with his reduced rage he can sheild slam from the same abotu of rage its better you reducing the dmg he takes and him focusing on souly of keeping aggro off ur ass).
This is just my playing style, i help reduce the dmg the tank takes from the start allowing him to easily overaggro me at the start as i pop my ap shout, rampage and the above then go full nuke. Im already 400-500dps on my level 61 warrior in tbc greens and some tier 1 (f**king BF gloves wont drop rofl).
For rogues the chance on extra energy is nice i agree, for pve i use shiv instead of sinsiter strikes. I pop slice and dice and the mecha trinket haste+ and i love the bloodlust and WF in raids and with the bladeflurry and adrenlline rush im sorry bot for 15seconds im stuck at 100 energy no matter how much i button bash and spam eviserate. Always applying posion makes up for the extra dmg from SS since it is nice. i spec 20/41/0 for combat and using shiv with a 1.5 second Off-hand (Mgt heroic) i hit for about 250-300+160 posion and crit 700-800 thats nothing to 1.5k sinister strikes right? but i use 35 energy per shiv and per 175energy i get a refund of 20 energy on average reducing it to 150 energy.
Only thing im sad about is haste+ not reducing shiv's energy that was make it easily the best, for for now i get combo points like a hemo mad man+ hit like a hemo mad man after all hemo doesnt add dmg just dmg after and 20% more in posions is very nice buff up past hemo debuff.
My spec recovers 11.4% of its energy usedand the posion ignores armour. i havent tested if using slower or faster weapons help yet in dps.
Sorry for the big off-topic but take into consideration other factors, as for spell casters i picked 100BOJ mail haste legs and frankly my lighting bolt going from 2sec to 1.96 sec for 40 odd crit raiding that would reduce my next 2 spells mana by 40% each time i crit JUST ISNT WORTH IT.
Using this with
not only gives a big boost to retribution paladins, but also gives them big fiery wings of doom!
I was wondering, is this trinket superior to the Hourglass of the Unraveller when paired with the Shard of Contempt?
Edit: For a fury warrior :0
Hmm.. it's hardly better than that.
I guess it's gunna be buffed..
You know what? I can't believe that you guys actually even dare to mention Slayer's Crest. How many of you can proudly say that they had Sapphiron on farm status to even mention the name of Slayer's Crest as if it's some worthless item? Bloodlust Brooch is one of the best trinkets in the game, and if you want to compare this to Slayer's Crest I guess you can, but you should remember that it's far easier to get 41 badges than travel to Naxxramas to beat Sapphiron even at lvl 70.
Whoever's comparing this thing to slayer's crest, needs to face the fact that it's 41 badges of honor.
That's some considerable work (well somewhat >>), and I'd rather pick up something else if I already had a slayer's crest (12 badges away from my sunblade).
Oh snap, Trinket from 2nd to last boss in Naxx is barely worse than this vendorable lvl70 trinket in expansion...
Wait, thats just like most end of Naxx loot.
Most naxx items are on par with level 70 blues really, compare hammer of the twisting nether and might of menethil to many level 70 blues and you'll find they are quite similar; and they are KT loot, not just Saph.
This however is an epic, and the fact that slayer's crest is as good as this (l.70 epic, from a heroic shadow labs (I'm pretty sure its shadow labs anyways)) says the slayer's crest is really an exceptional piece of loot for being a pre-TBC item.
Does the cooldown break stealth?
I think what he meant was, does using this trinket break stealth? If this trinket is anything like the lesser trinkets which provide the same type of AP buff, then yes. I have a lesser green trinket aquired from a quest and it will break stealth upon use. In game terms, it's considered a cast action, and casting does break stealth. For rogues I think this would be better used right before a Slice and Dice finishing move anyway.
Is this strictly an item turnin or is there a rep requirement too?
No reputation required.
Only thing you need to do is get revered with several factions such as Coilfang Resevoir, Lower City, The Consortium or some others.
This grants you the ability to do heroic instances where these Badge Of Justice items drop.
A boss drops one badge, however, everyone gets one.
So if you want this pretty - start farming heroic.
This is a very nice trinket, slightly better than Slayer Crest which drop from Sapphiron in Naxx, also a lot easier to aquire.
The effect is nice, you become red (like the old bloodthirst effet, Warriors rejoice!) along with the enrage skull. The icon is the same as Deathwish.
Does it make the noise like bloodlust from a shaman rofl... love that sound
Oh yeah the orc battleroar sound, I love that :) I'm just a few badges away from getting it, I hope it does make that sound cause I'm gonna be using this baby soon :)
What's the cooldown on it?
Very usefull + looks like bestial wrath soo i can scare enemies with double Wrath:)
Just wondering, I have the Abucus of Violent Odds. Would the haste rating yeild more dps than the atk pwr from this one? Also, I have the Hourglass from BM, I'd hate to give up the crit chance, but what are everyone else's thought on replacing either
Assuming you always have Imp Battleshout up, +381. Then I can pop, in order:
Death Wish (+20% dmg ): 30 seconds
This: +278 AP, 20 seconds
Blood Fury (Orc): +284, 15 seconds
Since flurry is almost assuredly going to be up, that's 25% to attack speed.
If you've got the Hourglass and it happens to proc in there, that's another +300 as well....
That's going to be a painful 15 seconds. Deathwish is on a 3m cd, the other two are on 2m cds.
Hey I a few questions I think you guys could help me out with..
I have the core of Ar'kelos
and the Hourglass of the Unraveller
I almost have enough badges for this trinket, but I do not know wether it is better to do "Core of Ar'kelos, and Bloodlust Brooch" or "Bloodlust brooch and Hourglass of the Unraveller" of course either way ill keep both trinkets but as far as raiding goes, would the chance on hit be more useful.. or the constant DPS? see what im sayin?
Onyixia-Troll rogue of ~Ysera~ FOR THE HORDE
any1 know if this and Berserker's Call would pwn in arenas,Cuz im thinking bout using both in 2v2..?
Very nice trinket. Finally got this on my Hunter after many, many hours farming Heroics. A static 72 AP is huge, and 278 AP every two minutes is just icing on the cake. This plus Hourglass of the Unraveller makes one awesome combo.
Recreating this post on Trinket threads as it may be useful to you:
/use Name Of Trinket
/cast Name Of Move
Then swap in this macro's icon to where the attack icon was. An easy combo for any fight and it'll be ready again before you know it. If you want to choose when trinket pops rather than blowing your cooldown at first chance, place macro in 2nd bar at same spot as regular attack and assign Shift/key#.
You can even do multiples
/use Bloodlust Brooch
/use Crystalforged Trinket
/use Bladefist's Breath
/use Yet Another Choice
If a trinket is not ready or equipped, you'll just get "item not ready" and your attack continues like normal.
Bummer is... this and most other Ap + or haste+ trinkets share the CD.
After you use the Blodlust, the Abacuas(forexample) will go on CD for 10secs
yeah not to bad for melee dps
