This Epic Healing Shield drops of Magtheridon in Hellfire Citadel.
Looks just like the Azure-Shield of Coldarra (
) bought with Badges of Justice from G'eras in Shattrath, but with a pink-ish kind of red tint in stead of the blue of the Azure-Shield.
just got it today, it's the best pve healing shield in the game at the moment
If you're doing Magtheridon it means that you have:
A) killed Nightbane
B) killed Gruul
C) probably have 2/5 T4 or more, with non-set epics/heroic rewards in the other slots
Note if you try to refute this saying you have less and killed those bosses without good gear, it means you went undergeared and are probably mooching off the efforts of your fellow guild members.
Now, having completed all the above you should already have more than enough stamina to withstand a measily 6k blow, in addition don't forget you'll have full raid buffs, which is kings, fort and motw. Stamina is important, yes, but you're cutting it seriously close if you think that extra 240 (according t bahamutzero) is going to save you.
I'm definitely after this item on my paladin, though I suppose I can afford it since I've stacked myself with stamina items. If you don't have the stamina to afford the loss on your shield, you're not even geared enough to be fighting Magtheridon in the first place.
I have no idea how the previous posters' arguments lasted this long.
Armory profile for reference.
The solution is pretty simple. Dying too much from AOE? Get more stamina. Surviving just fine? Get more int/mana5/healing.
People, especially healers and casters who ignore stamina in favour of performance stats, will find out very soon why it's important to have 9-10k HP buffed in SSC/TK. So do your raid a favour and keep the important stats balanced.
BTW in 25 raids, 24 stamina equals 264 HP regardless of spec, since BoK is ALWAYS up.
I'm not a huge fan of this shield, but I have it, so I'm going to use it. Going to enchant it with
and re-enchant my old Triptych Shield of the Ancients (
. Just waiting for either the za or anetheron shield now.
That's from Magtheridon (dropped for Last Resort). WTB item icon!
Well, thats me holding it.
No palys on raid so war wins it yay :)
Dropped on our first kill
Nice shield for a shammy or pally really don't see why people always have to fight over this stuff, seriously it works for both classes so just quit the pointless arguments.
That looked like 2 words. I need to get my eyes checked.
This shield is pink, could only be designed for a pala. Enuff said
Everyone's opinion will vary. I'm a holy paldin and that dropped you better bet your butt I'm rolling and pulling rank. Hehe. But i can totally see a shaman rolling on it as well. I just would be very sad if I lost to my shaman friend. :(
I just got this baby off our second Magtheridon kill. It's an amazing shield. I'm a BE pally btw. With the recent changes to Illumination, it's gonna help a lot more to have a decent amount of both crit and mp/5 and the more mp/5 the better. This thing packs a tonne.
Oh, and it's bright bright pink. Totally a pally shield.
I know everyone is arguing over shaman or paladin for every healing item that isn't specifically plate or mail. In the case of shields especially there is one big factor to consider: spell crit. When you compare paladin healing gear to shaman healing gear, the biggest difference is the presence of spell crit in paladin gear. However, there aren't really any shields in the game that have +Heal and spell crit. Therefore there aren't any shields specifically designed for paladin, also meaning there aren't any shields specifically for shamans.
The real problem here is that both paladins and shaman are raiding together now and have to compete over items like this, which they never did before. If there's an argument to be had, maybe it should be complaining to Blizz about letting each faction have both paladins and shamans.
I may ad thet in the argument where you see paladins need spl crit you really need to considre that after the patch Illumination has meen massivly nerfed from 100% mana back from crit heals to only 60%.
Meaning mp5 has just gotten even more imbortant for pala's. Mp5 isn't all that great in pala gear and therefore I'd say this shield's the perfect shield for holy pala's (not to say that a shaman wouldn't get the same benefit).
on a side note, shamans can regain mana really well. heared about mana tide totem?
Is it me or this helm should get a new graphic design?
Looks like a dam heroic shield and is pink!.
It drops from mag, should look alot more mag style.
Lets be clear, no Shammy or Alliance Paladin would wear a pink shield.
But then again Pink was a popular colour for clothes amongst macho rappers for a while too.
I think this is perfect for those Metro-sexual Bloodelf Paladins
As a resto shammy, I would have absolutely no problem seeing this or even triptych shield of the ancients going to a paladin.
The only epic shields with spell crit and +healing I can remember off the top of my head are Death's Bargain (from Naxx) and Felstone Bulwark (from Black Temple. This said, I would rather not force the paladins in my guild to go run Naxx or wait until we're in Black Temple just to get a good healing shield.
I also think that shamans should be allowed to take spell crit shields anyways. People seem to forget that we have the Ancestral Fortitude talent (+25% armor for #seconds) which obviously is still a valuable little buff. We may not get quite as much use from the spell crit but it's not like it should be restricted to paladins.
pink or,pup definately means a pally shield, but looks wise of course. id rather see a pally with this than a shammy
