got these on my hunter the other day (dragonmaw eu) , nice bracers tbh .. taught by dragonscale lw teacher .. only piece of the 3 that doesnt need primal nether i'd reccomend a +8 crit rating gem :P
I can make these now but i have felstalker gear while being a MM hunter.
IMO, go suvival for this set cause of the extra crit this set will give you. 1% crit = 40+ AP
I would not say that this an obvious upgrade over the Felstalker set as far as pure damage goes.
The Felstalker has 283 Armor, 18 Ag, 11 Int, 38 Ap. They both have one socket.
The Felstalker has 18 + 38 = 56 AP. 18 more than Ebon.
The Felstalker has 3 more Intellect.
The 18 Ag from Felstaker = 10 Crit. 7 Less than Ebon. (So the Ebon does win here Chubab)
The Ebon has 25 Stam. Felstalker has none.
So the damage comparison is 18 Ap v 0.21% Crit. If you take a common comparison that 1% Crit = approx 40 Ap, then 0.2% = 8 AP. Not a great switch at all unless of course you are focusing on Crit, Crit, Crit.
The big deal then is that you get +25 Stamina and 5 MP5
Nothing to be sniffed at for sure. Thats a lot of Mats for that, but worth it if you can make it.
As it does not need the P. Nether, i was thinking of upgrading the Flestalker Bracers to this. However, you lose the +20 Hit from the Felstalker then. :(
This is part of a great set for enhancement shaman, and offers both more damage and a needed boost in stamina compared to the blues from level 70 instances or the felstalker set. Shamans will want to focus on attack power rather than crit for socketing. Also, the hit rating set bonus is excellent for an enhancement shaman, since it helps compensate for the loss to hit created by dual weilding.
Finally hit 375 and crafted these the other day, great replacement for those lvl 63 Lykul Bracers or whatever I was using before. Mat's weren't bad at all to farm, mote of fire in Skald (Blades Edge Mtns.), mote of shadow around Oshugun (Nagrand), bought the scales for relatively cheap, and had plenty of Heavy Knothide left from farming Thick Clefthoof to max LW. Very appreciative that this didn't require primal nether.
I am a BM hunter with these bracers and the chest piece. Never got around to making the belt, since the Vindicator's is better. The Vindicator bracers are actually better as well, unless you're starved for MP5. Yellow gem slot for both bracers.
Socket Bonus: +2 Resilience Rating
+24 attack power
As you can see, the 23 agility makes up for the lower crit and AP, plus you get more health and mana. Only a small amount of the item budget was spent on resilience, and the socket bonus can largely be ignored in favor of meeting meta requirements, or for increasing your agility even further.
The Ebon chest piece, however, is very nice. I wouldn't expect to replace it until SSC, with the Ranger-General's Chestguard.
Hmm, not a bad DPS piece, but 24 stamina is quite alot for something that looks like it is intended for for PvE then PvP.
needs 375 dragonscale Leatherworking :) damn nice gear tbh :P only piece that doesnt need primal nether
is this taught by the dragonscale vendor? ill have to check it out... although im only 350 LW so i probably couldnt learn it.
Breastplate: 16 Primal Fire
16 Primal Shadow
2 Primal Nether
8 Heavy Knothide Leather
30 Nether Dragonscales
Belt: 12 Primal Fire
12 Primal Shadow
1 Primal Nether
24 Nether Dragonscales
6 Heavy Knothide Leather
Bracers: 8 Primal Fire
8 Primal Shadow
18 Nether Dragonscales
4 Heavy Knothide Leather
Total: 36 Primal Fire
36 Primal Shadow
3 Primal Nether
70 Nether Dragonscales
18 Heavy Knothide
Mmmmm...delicious critical strike rating.../drool
If you can, put a Smooth Dawnstone in for +8 crit rating, making the bracers +23 crit rating (1.04% crit approx) which is absolutely insane for bracers.
Is it worth the effort?
Blizz has a really twisted sense of humor in the effort-to-reward aspect of some of these crafted items.
Compare Cobrahide Leg Armor and Nethercobra leg armor... 5 ap and 2 crit strike for double the primal air and double the cobra scales...and a primal nether.
375 LW is the correct level needed to learn.
1. ebon netherscale are way better then goldenscale, it is totally worth the wait.
2. these are potentially a great pvp set because of the stam bonus
3. why hasnt anyone compare the felstalker set to these?
Ebon Netherscale Belt
6 heavy knothide leather
24 nether dragonscales
12 primal fire
12 primal shadow
1 primal nether
Ebon Netherscale Bracers
4 heavy knothide leather
18 nether dragonscales
8 primal fire
8 primal shadow
Ebon Netherscale Chest
8 heavy knothide leather
30 nether dragonscales
16 primal fire
16 primal shadow
2 primal nether
18 heavy knothide leather
72 nether dragonscales
36 primal fire
36 primal shadow
3 primal nether
This set of armor is not only made for hunters but also for enchancement shaman that is why there is no agility in the whole entire set, but agility isn't really nessecary when what want agiltiy for is AP and Crit rate and they give us plenty of that in this armor set, with out obsolete agility. I'm not saying agility is bad but its nothing special anymore when 35 agility gives 35 ap and .9 crit chance...And another peice of gear gives 40 ap and 23 crit rating. Then a whole bunch of stamina and intellect, because at heart it was created for enchancement shamans.
The reason why an enhance shaman wouldnt want this set? Simply because it lacks agility. Without the "uh oh" instant aggro reducing skills of the other melee classes, enh shamans steal aggro very quickly if we do the damage we can do.
We need more agil less crit rating, simply because agil give us dodge and only a slightly less crit% than crit rating. When I steal aggro I hit my hot button shield swap, and end up with a 35% dodge/parry/block rating, which usually gives me enough survivability for the tank to take aggro back before I get demolished.
4k armor isnt very much endgame, enhance shammies need agil to survive the damage output we do. Netherstrike set, here I come.
5 Primal Fires to go and I got these I am gonna fit them with a Smooth Ornate Dawnstone
and when I get the mats farmed to make the belt I will add the Inscribed Ornate Topaz
to it and hopefully by the time I get the mats for the BP i will have some epic gem drops from Heroics!
this set+ hunters pvp set-the chest= high stam, high intel, hughcrit strike, insane armor, awesome resilence, insane ap, nice mp5
Ok, I'm probably just slow, but I wasn't sure where to get training to make these. You just need to go to the dragonscale trainer. His name is Thorkaf Dragoneye, and he is in Badlands at tloc 63,58. If you don't already have dragonscale leatherworking, he will give you a quest so you can become a dragonscale Leatherworker.
I'm confused here. The Vindicator's bracers strike me as pretty superior to these, especially for a Hunter... Sure, these have more AP and alittle more crit, but have lost 23 AGI (not counting the stamina loss due to PvE).
23 AGI is roughly 0.5% crit and 23 AP isnt't it? (excluding the dodge/armor bonuses)
Currently have the full Gladiator set (pre70 honor grinding ftw) and am looking towards a PvE set to begin raiding, but so far am still favoring the Gladiator gear more. Even the other Ebon Netherscale pieces trip up over the Agility side effects, are these 3 really better then vindicator +gladiator chest?
HELL NO! the Ebon set is a 10000000000 times better glad can get you mabey into gruuls now if your lucky Ebon is like t5 so you would be geared for TK or Mth (if you have good other gear that is)
