Rumored to be a Black Temple drop. that's why its not recorded as a drop from any boss thus far.
Drops from Kael'Thas. Tempest Keep - The Eye.
All healing classes could really use this, but then again not.
since it has a high ammount of spirit i would say that this item would go to a druid.
A huge amount of spirit makes priests and druids very interested in this. Paladins and shamans tend to rely on MP5 for their regeneration purposes.
It's a shame this cloak is so gaudy. Being one of the only epic healing cloaks it should match T5/T6 gear at least a bit.
The real disappointment is the continuing item budgeting trend of "spirit OR mp5". The Cloak of Clarity (
) and Cloak of Suturing (
) were showing some promising changes in this regard towards the end of vanilla WoW. It's disappointing that all the epic healing cloaks in BC have Stam, Int, Healing as a staple. Spirit and mp5 are both important stats for at least holy priests, if not also resto druids. There should be at least one healing cloak in the game that includes both of these stats.
This cloak is the upgrade from the cloak that drops in Arcatraz first boss (
The meditation buff makes this cloak more viable for priests, which is nice.
Only problem is you have to hide your cloak because it's so god awfully gaudy.
This cloak, for priests equals
77 +heal with neither Spiritual Guidance or Imp DS.
79 +heal with just Imp DS.
82 +heal with just Spiritual Guidance.
84 +heal with Spiritual Guidance and Imp DS.
3Mp5 with Meditation.
A good guide line for spirit on items is the following (in case of priests)
mana regen for a priest is spirit/4 per tick
the 20 spirit on this item would roughly translate to ((20/4)/2)*5 = 12.5 (to change from mana per tick to mana per 5)
so technicaly this item gives +- 12.5 mp5 (while NOT casting)
With the meditation talent from priests with gives 30% regen to continue while casting, this would become 3.75 mp5
If the priest has the primal mooncloth set, this would make 35% regen and become 4.375 mp5
Personally I would prefer spirit over mp5, not only because it does give quite a good regen, but it also adds to bonus healing (not that much but every little bit helps)
And for the people that happen to have Bangle of Endless Blessings, if it procs, regen is boosted to 50% for 15sec allowing this item to give 6.25 mp5
This basicly counts for druids as well, but they have a little different calculation for mana regen: ((/4.5)/2)*5
Hope this post helps some ppl with the choosing between mp5 and spirit
*All Spirit calculations are based on wowwiki content*
Seeing my cloak on a shammy, makes me vommit. Spirit is so useful on a paladin/shaman... NOT.
