Pattern dropped tonight for us off Solarian trash in The Eye
Pattern dropped for my guild tonight in SSC off trash.
2 Nether Vortex
15 Primal Fire
72 Netherweave Cloth
8 Arcane Dust
2 Rune Thread
Dirt cheap if you are in a SSC guild or have friends in them who can craft these for you.
lokhor your numbers seem a bit strange and you dont specify what gems you are talking about.
In addition, you have ignored (or overlooked) the very important fact this belt has +23 spell hit rating on it, whereas spellfire has 0.
Actually it is the best belt in the game. I will give up 34 stamina for 30 spell crit any day. If you want to pvp get pvp gear, if you want to pve get pve gear.
Would a warlock still be better off sticking with the +9 damage gems in this and ignoring the socket bonus? I'm guessing that destruction might favor the socket bonus so use can use a hit gem in the yellow slot but what about affliction?
A warlock may choose to socket it with:
+5 spell dmg, +6 stamina
+5 spell dmg, +4 spell crit (or hit if affliction)
This will result in a total bonus of:
+14 spell dmg, +6 stamina, +4 spell crit (or hit if affliction)
The fact that this belt is currently considered the best warlock belt in the game means that it'll be used in BT and Hyjal, where stamina is a very important stat to have, meaning that socketing to get the bonus in such a matter would be better than just sticking in two +9 spell dmg gems.
If your an affliction lock go for the Cord of Screaming Terrors. If your going for stam and the crit isn't as important, that belt has 1 more base hit and actual stam before any gems are added. Personally, I 'd recomend that other belt for Shadow Priests too.
This belt however is probably the best for any crit based caster and I'd recommend it even for Elemental Shamans.
Really, really nice belt. But just remember, if you break your Spellfire bonus you will lose around 30 damage (Which is quite a bit to lose late into 70). Not to mention you will also lose 10 stam (With gems and socket bonus), and 18 intellect. If you aren't a tailor or need the hit then it's pretty sick, though. For Mages in 3/3 Spellfire I think the Boots of Blasting are a better choice for an upgrade.
Payed 1300g for mine (500g each for the nethers ;) ), Worth it imo!
Actually this belt requires somewhat strong supportive hoard of good gear around it to work the best, because this belt is completely free of any stamina. The Loot Below in SSC drops the Screaming Terrors belt, which is awesome in itself, too. However, at least I have never seen that one drop, so it was safe to get this baby crafted as soon as I got the vortexes.
Unfortunately, this belt is yet another example of Blizzard's ridiculous itemization. What's the use for blue slot in this belt, when you really don't want any stamina since all the item budget has been spent on mad nuking? Slammed +12 and +9 spell damage gems in and there you go, at least one slot in your gear is as good as it currently gets.
changed my tune, this is no doubt the best belt until t6
Our guild has been running for 4 months now... no drop. This is insane. Is probability actually lower for this and boots? We've seen boots 3 times and many LW patterns drop like 7 times but not these.
Don't worry, we had the same issue.
We started running SSC/TK in 09/07 and we didn't see a single boots or belt pattern drop until 01/08. Since then we've had about 4 of each drop(Think we even got 3 in 1 raid)
As of 2.4, you need 15 badges to purchase 1 Nether Vortex.
Therefore, you need 30 in total to fulfill the recipe requirements.
I bought this belt for my fire mage.
spellfire Set is worth breaking despite the set bonus loss (-28 spell damage @@ 400 intellect self buffed) but you win 23 hit (!!!) and 12 crit.
Droprate on this recipe is really low, but once it drops the person getting it is gonna be rich.
I was lucky enough to get my recipe after 2.4, and the sales are flying.
I can charge between 50 - 100g fee and people happily pay it, even though I don't supply any Vortex.
After about a week i have gotten a nice lump of money. Once i start advertising this baby on the trade channel I might get my epic flying in a diffy.
People in guild, friends of the guild, alts of friends etc. I am crafting this every day and get whispers while raiding and doing dailies all the time.
A person with this mighty recipe will feel like a superstar. Wishing everyone else who get it a Good luck on the sales
Got this nice belt on my affli warlock and it works a charm. The hit rating is what we love so we can put talent points in something else then supression.
This is a nice item again since there is so much stamina on things like the dps 150-badge dagger. I had avoided it in the past due to no stam, but I dont have stam issues anymore. I'm putting +10 spellhaste and +10 spellhit in mine, which means I can remove a spellhit item and add a dps item. Eventually with +20 spellhaste after I get a better spellhit ring, this is a real beast.
Good but expensive unless like lldemonll said if you have friends in ssc or your guild is in ssc you can farm the fires and get the Nether's from ssc the rest is real cheap and not a problem to get
I found the easiest way to get the primal fires was to head to elemental plateau in nagrand, not too many people were there and with some heavy killing i got the 15 needed in a little over an hour.
Happy farming :D
IF you got problems with farming the
, mote of fire. i strongly suggest you should go and kill Incandescent Fel Spark
they are ONLY located at Throne of Kil'jaeden, in Hellfire peninsula... the cords are 61,19 .if you dont have cords i must say that its right behind Thrallmar up at the mountain, but, you need Flying mount and if you dont have that i think you must just die close to the mountain and spirit ress :(
also there are Dailies there to.. and Normally People dont Farm those from Fire but just for the daily
This belt is very nice with a good amount of hit/crit and spd, however the complete lack of any stam or int on it makes it dependant on your other gear, if ur lacking stam and mana then u may need to change other pieces of armour to raise those stats before equping this.
As a fire mage im considering getting this and finally breaking the spellfire set as i can make it more overall spd and crit however like i said, the lack of stam and int is stopping me at the moment.
I have one thing to say to everyone who posted here:
a pl. of vortex.
This belt has been going on the AH on my server for around 1700g. The separate mats for this would cost about as much if you bought them all off the AH, and expect to pay 50g to the crafter to do it for you.
As a frost mage, I have had this item for a couple of months now, and I must say I am very pleased with how it performs. If the lack of a stamina buff is an issue, then socket it with a stamina gem, but regardless of what your gem choice is, the +23 hit, +30 crit, +50 damage buffs make it more than worth any sacrifice in stamina. Besides, as a mage, your best defense is a helluva good offense, anyways.
Great addition to any DPS caster set! Nice amount of +hit so the caster can really focus on putting +12 spell damage or Spell haste in the sockets!
AWESOME spreist belt up to higher content (Namely Hyjal/BT). Even Anetheron's Noose isn't too much better than this in truth.
I'd recommend using this up until Sunwell if you're not able to get Anetheron's Noose (Hyjal) or Waistrap of Infinity (BT), but definitely get the Teir 6 belt over this.
I have been looking for a tailor to make this belt for quite some time. The problem was finding someone with the Pattern who also had the 2 Nether Vortexes that they were allowed to sell by their guild leaders. Was always told that it was unlikely anyone would give em up. I did however find it on AH this morning for 2k Gold and picked it up. So there went that theory.
The belt the Lurker drops is very good, but IMO sacrificing the Int and Sta for the Crit is well worth it. Now I can pass to my other fellow raid casters and allow them to have a better shot at the Lurker's belt.
Am I crazy for spending 2k Gold? Maybe. Do I regret it? Nope.
Pattern drops in raid instances such as The Eye and SSC
This belt is just pure caster damage...nuff said.
Got this today's morning for my Lock, 1.7k - it's definitely worth it... :-)
This belt is hot. I would so sacrifice stamina and int for that spell dmg + crit
The pattern drops from Serpent Shrine Cavern trash mobs. BoP.
If you can't tell from looking at thottbot where this drops from I seriously doubt you will be in a good enough guild to have an opportunity to get this.
Here is my opinion on gear.
Basically, Tier sets are of 5 pieces; Chest, Shoulders, Helm, Pants, and Gloves. That leaves 3 essential slots open; Belt, Bracers, and Boots (Save the other equipment slots, such as Rings). The Tier sets have massively high Stat bonuses, especially +Stamina, also with other decent stat increases, such as +AP, Spell Damage, Defence Rating, etc etc.
Now, that leaves the other 3 slots open. For what? Filling in the gaps of those other points your missing. Yes, a full set of Tier 5 Mage gear gives a LOT of + Spell Damage, but does it give enough? Hell no. That's where these belts and boots and bracers come in. They have spectacular Specialty stat increases, and even have sockets to add a customization aspect to the mix. Say you want some Intelect on that Epic BoE SSC/The Eye Belt you just got, then give it some! If you want more spell damage, by all means.
And let the trinkets be for the quick Steroid bursts of Wtfgg stuff.
That is all.
very nice balanced belt (no stats though, but for raiding i dont think is too big a problem), and the mats costs (despite the voortex, ofc ^^) arent really that big.
I just almost BOUGHT this belt yesterday for a ton of money because of how awesome it is. I am SO GLAD I DIDNT! The NEW patch is coming and there is a new belt buyable with HEROIC BADGES That comes REALLY close to this belt. Close enough to not dumb 2+k G on this sucker. No wonder all of a sudden people have been trying to sell belts of blasting like mad. The new belt has the following stats:
Increase spell hit by 17
Increase spell critical strike by 33
Increase damage and healing by 40
As you can see the belt of blasting still comes in ahead by like 20 spell damage because of its sockets and higher spell stat, but the trade off is the stam and int on this new belt. The spell hit is in the same area, and the spell crit is better on this one. Its close ENOUGH to not go and spend 2000+ gold on the blasting belt IMO.
belt of blasting is clearly superior for deep fire builds.
those 20 damage give us quite a good boost in DPS, plus another +6 to hit.
so it lacks int/stam.. no big deal.
so it lacks 3 crit.. even less of a big deal, since crit is way worse than hit or power.
our job is to nuke, not to have the biggest pool of health and mana.
btw, i just got the pattern today, but am still lacking one vortex :(
Alot of people are missing the point of my posting the new badges belt. I never said it was superior to the belt of blasting. The comparison was meant for those like me who are possibly SEEKING getting into a good guild, and need to progress their gear in order to be considered.
If you have a guild that is raiding, of COURSE you can get the belt of blasting easily, hell you can probably get better. But for those of us who arent raiding serpentshrine, dont have the pattern, and have to go through the trouble of farming 15 primals, paying
or more per vortex to some crafter + tipping and on top of that FINDING someone to entrust handing all those mats over to knowing they wont rip you off is much more of a pain in the ass than just pulling a couple of badges out of your vault you got when you were running heroic freaking mech and just BUYING a respectable replacement UNTIL you get guilded and gain access to the BoB alot more easily.
Belt of blasting #1 choice Wild Mats
Voodoo-Woven Belt #2 choice Hero Badges
Sash of Serpentra #3 choice Normal Steamvault run
As you go down the list they are less effective, however easier to obtain. All provide a decent amount of spell hit.
This is more of a PvE belt. Grab the new vindicator belt for PvP... It will be easier than both the badges and the blasting one. As far as raiding and stats, I have the spell fire set stacked with +9 spell damage. We all know that has crap stats but I do fine on Gruul cause I dont stand in the Cave-ins...
With the belt of blasting you can put a glowing nights eye and a runed living ruby plus the socket bonus of +4 spell damage, you get an extra 18 damage with the sockets.
The belt also has 10 more total damage to add up to 28 more spell damage than the belt from badges.
I dont know about you but spell damage adds up even if its only 28 more...If you have that attitude that 20 spell damage is not alot then you will gimp your spell damage overall.
Lastly, in the time it would take you to get 60 badges, you could prob farm enough gold and mats to get the belt made even if they are a bit easier to get come 2.3...
Side note: according to wowinsider the patch comes out next tuesday 13 Nov.
I don't get why nobody is mentioning
Cord of Screaming Terrors
You don't have to spent 2.5k gold, it has similar spell dmg and for Spriest it's also better cuz u get some extra mana. U don't need the crit for a Spriest, since u don't do much spells that can crit.
So if your guild is doing SSC, then get this one !
2nd best spell dmg belt in game imo, first is ofc
, but that one drops in Mount Hyjal.
This belt is absolutely one fo the best waists in the game for me as a mage. But the price isn't something u would like to pay... If you don't have the money or guild to get the reciepe i would suggest
Girdle of Ruination
as a pretty good piece of gear to a lower price
vnnie i couldnt tell if you were kidding or not, really hoping you were since the actual belt is BoE
This belt will be making a huge comeback in 2.4 and here's why. Blizz is powerboosting this game a bit before Lich King so now nether vortexes wil be able to be bought with badges and gold. Thats the easier mats part and primal fires aren't a problem even though its a lot of em. Secondly, this belt is awesome because it takes pressure off putting + spell hits in sockets. 23 spell hit is a nice number on one item on top of crit and 50 damage (on a belt at that). So now one can throw max damage/crits while keeping it a viable skull boss belt. And for those who haven't commented on spell hit versus skull raiding bosses... check out wowwiki "spell hit rating" for anice break down of numbers. Helped me a lot to climb the damage charts in 25 man raids.
As quoted by others, better than badge belt and this belt is what im sticking with even at a loss of bit of stam/intel. Can compensate for it with the huge stam/intell boosts on new caster chest piece and that new chest piece makes for hella crits (+60 crit or so.. 0.o)
I found a good guy to buy from on Magtheridon server - Krimminal - he charged 500g per nether, plus my mats. So, that was 1000g plus the 15 primal fires and the bolts of imbued netherweave. The primal fires were going for 20-22g each on my server. I figure 1000g was a good deal, and he produced right away; no problem with him handling my mats. I gave him 1100g to have a small tip.
I did one Kara run and 3 heroic and i was able to buy the Nether Vortex (15 badges each)
Then i farmed for 4 hours some Motes of Fire and got the 15 Primal Fires, rly easy
50g for crafting and 10g for the cloth and i got the belt.
Total - 12 hours of playing + 60g - got the belt.
What gems would
