Amazing belt for combat dagger rogues...drooling :)
This was included in the box of Tier5 Tokens from the 2.1 PTR, it goes with the Deathmantle set, doesn't come from BT.
they updated it so it now gives, dagger, sword, mace and unarmed skill. first it was only dagger skill being it really good for dagger rogue's now it good for all :P
i would almost say overpowered, but vashj is a big enough pain in the ass to get this :P
Drops from Lady Vashj -
She's the last boss in CR, the 25-man wing.
is 5 weapon skill all that good? 1crit and 1hit is all it is isn't it.
I have to say they should add feral combat skill to the list also. kitties need some love.
+feral combat skill would have been nice too.
Does this actually work on fist weapons?
'Cause there is no such thing as "fist skill" in the game..
fists are unarmed skill retard
Since no one really knows how exactly weapon skill rating affects your hit rating and the target's dodge, parry and block value (with parry and block being irrelevant when attacking from behind anyway), people are probably going to avoid weapon skill items and favour hit, crit and haste rating instead, which this item prominently lacks (in favour of all the weapon skill mumbo jumbo), aside from the agility value, which equals about 14 crit rating and 2 sockets. And since most Rogues only use one kind of weapon in both hands, 3 equip stats on this belt are permanently wasted.
this belt is awsome even without the weapon skill, the weapon skill just makes it extra interesting for all types of rogues, no matter the specc, and as far as using 2 types of weapons... I do that on my rogue, I use sword and dagger so I'll benefit from an armor like this in more ways than 1...
I think this belt may actually be the most powerful belt in the game against raid bosses, if you believe the info on wowwiki's article for Weapon Skill:
The article mentions 2 important factors that make weapon skill amazing:
1. A blue post on the EU forums some months ago stated:
Let's say you increase your weapon skill by 4.
Against a mob 3 levels higher than you, you get: 0.8% lower chance to miss,
0,4% lower chance to get dodged, 2,4% to be parried, and a 0,8% higher
chance to crit."
That makes weapon skill *significantly* more potent than originally thought. If this is true, blizz probably ninja-buffed it at some point (2.1 most likely).
2. The other, most important part of the article:
A player's chance to miss in PVE is also greatly affected by difference in mobs' defense and the player's attack rating.
* If the monster's defense is 1 to 10 points greater than your weapon skill, you suffer 0.1% chance to miss per point.
* If the difference is more than 10, the penalty is doubled to 0.2% per point
Increased weapon skill offsets this penalty directly - i.e. reducing the difference from 10 to 9 by equipping an item which grants 1 weapon skill will result in a 0.1% reduced chance to miss.
Note that this creates a "sweet spot" when attacking a mob 3 levels above the player (including "skull" bosses). Equipping an item that grants 5 extra weapon skill will effectively increase the player's chance to hit by a full 2%. 4 weapon skill would only grant 0.8% to hit, while 6 skill would give 2.1%.
20 skill rating provides that "sweet spot" of 5 extra weapon skill, which means that this belt provides MORE THAN 2% TO HIT ON RAID BOSSES, and all the other bonuses of weapon skill. I can say from long tested experience on my feral Druid that Shapeshifter's Signet, which provides that 20 weapon skill rating "sweet spot," does make a significant difference in the amount of times that bosses dodge from behind, AND I can get away with only 6.8% to hit form hit rating, and never miss bosses.
I hope this post helps convince rogues that this belt rocks. Oh, and don't forget that at the moment that I'm posting this article, one of only 2 players in the game who has both Warglaives of Azzinoth, Furi on the Illidan server (
) uses this belt.
So, this belt it is way better than the one who drops on BT and also, it is worth than Belt of the Deep Shadow?
The 25 expertise rating will give 6 (no fractions) expertise skill which means your attacks will be dodged (and parried) 1.5% less.
When 2.3 is implemented this will be the best belt in the game.
expertise gives less chance your attacks will be dodged or parried by your opponent.
this will make it possible to get your opponents parry and dodge rates down to 0%, which was not possible before.
since the hit-element was removed in the converting of weapon skill -> expertise, there is a new hit-cap (rogues) which currently lies at 363 hit-rating with 5/5 precision, and 442 hit-rating without any talents, against level 73 mobs/bosses.
Each point of expertise reduces the chance for your attacks to be dodged or parried by 0.25%.
you need 3.9 expertise rating to gain 1 expertise skill.
the number of expertise skill you get from rating is rounded down, meaning if you have 10 expertise rating, you will land on 2.56 expertise skill, which is rounded down to 2.
this belt has 25 rating / 3.9 = 6.41 expertise skill which is rounded down to 6. that equals to 1.5% less chance your attacks will be dodged or parried.
Judging by elitist jerks forum post written by Vulajin about gear selection this belt scores the highest score of belts in wow for combat sword rogues, judging with 2 epic gem slots this belt scores a total of 235,75 EP
I'm fairly certain that expertise skill is only rounded down on the character sheet, and not in the actual attack roll calculations. While I have not done thorough testing, it stands to reason since the attack roll system uses what is effectively a 10,000 sided die for 2 decimal places of precision.
As another true testament to Enhancement's brilliant itemization... /end sarcasm.
This is the best belt in the game for Enhancement Shaman... if you want to stick to mail... You can hang out for Boneweave Girdle... however it's a full 20 EP below this one...
Expertise is very valuable to Enhancement Shaman... I'd love to see all intellect and mp/5 on Enh Shaman T6 swapped to Expertise, or even Haste.
Considering that for the endgame raiding feral druid, agility is the most valuable attribute, this belt would be the absolute wet dream of a feral kitty also. Maybe the newly added badge reward Belt of the Silent Path
would be comparable to this only.
This belt offers (with two 10 agi gems) 136 AP and 2% crit. Belt of the Silent Path gives (with a 10 agi gem) 135 AP and 1.8%crit. Pretty close - still One Hundred Deaths wins the "fight". However the point of the comparison is choosing between 25 expertise rating and 23 hit rating. My choice here lies with the One Hundred Deaths for a simple reason: this gives a total of 3% increase in hit chance, as it reduces the chance of the mob to dodge and parry each by 1.5%, whereas 23 hit rating on Silent Path only raises hit chance by 1.46%.
Imo, Belt of One Hundred Deaths is the CLEAR winner. Even over Belt of deep Shadow
(with 2x10 agi gems) which gives 131AP and 2.12%crit, but only 18 hit rating.
If you're a human rogue and have Shard of Contempt, you're already expertise capped, meaning deep shadow or another belt is probably better than this.
This belt drops from Lady Vashj in SSC (dropped for Method).
the dagger skill rating is nice for PvE
First of all this drops from Lady Vashj in serpentshrine caverns and second of all this is definatly best suited for a combat dagger rogue in pve, shamans benefit more from slower weapons than daggers, such as fel-edged battleaxe etc
Anyone asking "What class should get this? I want this for my hunter/shaman" just isn't the kind of player who will ever even see it drop.
This would never go to a shaman. It would go to the one or two combat dagger rogues in that particular SSC run. There would not even be any debate amongst the guildies. Generally, loot is decided before it even drops, raiders know what can drop and who has how much DKP, deciding loot is simply a matter of checking the guild website and plugging in some attendance numbers.
For the typical thottbot poster, finding out the names of the hardest boss ever and than posting, "Man I would LOVE this on my (coughlevel37) hunter!" on every single piece of loot it drops...
At least you can dream...
Looks like it got buffed to heavenly proportions.
Best rogue belt i've yet to see so far. Thanks to the new patch's weapon skill rating buff aswell.
Nice agility, nice stamina, nica AP, and on top of that a really nice weap skill rating, which from now on is basically better then just "+hit" if its high enough, since it will increase %to hit,%to crit, decrease %to dodge, parry, block, glancing, etc etc by a fair amount.
2 sockets ftw.
I love reading these comments sometimes and hearing the tards say lolol hunter dagger or whatever. Is that what the casuals do instead of raiding they cruise thottbot for the end game loot and give their uneducated opinion about loot priority on drops they will most likely never see? Seems to be the case
Dropped for me today (combat fist rogue, willing to respec to combat dagger).
I was the only Rogue in the raid with much lower DKP than many others, but there was no discuss about it. It just fits rogues best.
Mace Rogue? <shudder>
What kinda build do you have anyways? And how does a mace exactly backstab?
Anyways, I think pretty much ANY rogue would benefit from this, since it does have buffs to daggers, swords, fist, and <gulp> maces. But combat specced dagger rogues with drippy blades especially :D
Pally belt imo... 1h sword + shield, omg hawt dps!
but seriously... anyone who isnt a rogue who even considers getting this should die in a fire.
I know I'm going to get leaped on for this, but for what it's worth, here are the stat comparison for kitty Druids.
Belt of One-Hundred Deaths
141 AP, 1.16% crit
Belt of Natural Power
130 AP, 0.80% crit
Girdle of Treachery
117 AP, 0.84% crit
The only belt at the time of this post that will give you better stats is:
Don Alejandro's Money Belt
143 AP, 2.02% crit
Yeah, it's from Mount Hyjal.
If your guild is moving to Hyjal soon when you down Vashj, I would recommend that you save your DKP. If it looks like you're going to be farming TK and SSC for a while to get everyone geared up, then go ahead and place your bids for it.
This is THE best belt in the game for an enhancement shaman. Now I know you're all thinking, what does this idiot know, but 25 weapon skill rating works out to 3% hit chance or 47 hit rating. Given current itemization no shaman is likely to gain anymore weapon skill rating in endgame.
As a result, using the following AEP:
Strength = 2 (2.2 w/Kings)
Crit Rating = 2
Agility = 1.8 (2 w/Kings)
Hit Rating = 1.4
Attack Power = 1
Armor Penetration = 0.25 (low estimate)
This belt is worth:
197 AEP and 229 socketed with 2 8str gems (the set bonus isn't worth a 4str 6stam gem)
by comparison Boneweave Girdle (2nd best, drops of essence of anger the hardest fight in the game)
Equip: Improves hit rating by 17.
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 24.
Equip: Increases attack power by 76.
has an AEP of 219.8
HOWEVER, this is only if you use maces. If you are an orc, you are better off using axes and skipping this belt
Come 2.3 Patch, Weapon skill will no longer exist and be replaced with Expertise Rating
After the patch comes out next week this belt becomes spectacular for any class, but VERY VERY good for enhancement shamans. Expertise Rating will lower dodge/parrys of the mobs you fight which will give you a huge DPS boost.
If you're one of the lucky ones whos guild can down Vashj, grab this belt. Then make sure and pick up the Shoulderpads of the Stranger from Hydross and the Gloves of the Searing Grip for Al'ar.
i really like how people are relating this to pvp..and also to thier craptastic weapons(blackout trunch lolz) that they of course would be using in ssc....though im not sure if this page has been updated yet, but it should read wepon expertise now i think, but still people were talking about weapon rating and pvp...lol
If you ask me. This should be a rogue only item, maybe a druid, but I'm so pestered about how they "corrupt" all the leather drops. Well anyhow, I haven't looked, but I can almost guarantee their are armor peices comparable or equal to this, that are mail/plate. If there's a rogue there, don't even ask. Rogues like myself sigh a sigh of relief when hunters and shammies start wearing mail. We get one theme of leather, that druids can make use out of too. Don't take our leather from us... And even if there's none to fight for it. That extra armor is one of the crowning atributes of your class. But, as long as you atleast realize that you should find a mail/plate upgrade soon. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I agree with the corupt leather but dont get me started with all pally plate. cant get any good damn pally plate below 70
