Drops on Heroic mode, Underbog.
This is the ONLY blue gem with +Hit.
I think that mp5 is pretty underrated for all casters actually. On any given fight where you have to use a mana pot mp5 gear will come in handy i.e. less GCD's for a lock, or just longer cast-time for a mage ect ect
Take heart! Drop rates listed here may be under-estimated. I was in Heroic UB last night and got this drop twice. Once off
The Black Stalker
and the other off
(Who is not listed under Heroic Underbog above.) May have been a part of the pre 2.4 patch, just speculation though :)
=P Got one of these today for meh priest. ^.^ 2 epic gems in the 2 past days. Apperantly blizzards drop rate for them is a LIE!

drops from Murmur on Heroic
dropped from the Black Stalker (heroic)
good for raidboss gear, I'd rather see crit+dmg for anything else. (firemage)
omg! This socket is so imba for a PvE shadowpriest like me :D Damn i want this gem!
No other spell hit gem is associated with a blue socket. Veiled Noble Topaz is Yellow/Red, and there's a yellow spell hit gem I forget the name of.
Great for shadow priests or frost mages with the Frozen Shadoweave gear, to get that +hit socket bonus. Every little bit helps.
I would say in 90% of the cases, this gem isn't particularly ideal for any class.
It happened to work out somewhat well for me. I play a shadow priest and use the +12 spell dmg/run speed metagem from the spirit shards. My helm requires a blue gem, and the metagem requires two yellow gems. If you know anything about shadow priests, then you know they hate anything that's not a runed living ruby, as the primary PVE spells mindflay and shadow word: pain both cannot crit. The veiled noble topaz (4 hit/5 spell dmg is a new option) but most shadow priests still prefer living rubies. Because the Lambent Chrysoprase is green it counts as both a blue and yellow gem, which means by putting it in my helm, instead of having to use 3 non-living rubies, I only have to use one more. This makes up for the spell damage lost in using this over the veiled noble topaz... eliminates the issue of having to regem an orange again if any of my gear changes, and in my case put me at 15.95% hit which is just .05% under the cap. Which is nice.
If you don't have some freak circumstance like that, this gem probably sucks. Contrary to some beliefs, spirit and mp5 is not something an endgame PVE shadowpriest is looking for.
