15% Proc Chance, making this an amazing trinket.
Actually this trinket has same hidden cooldown as Hourglass. 45 second cooldown so even if you crit and it procs it will not proc again for 45+ seconds.
Hm. Not a bad trinket at all.
I'd have to test this against the updated version of Romeo's Poison Vial. This would definitely be a great piece to switch to for fights where the ability to self heal is invaluable.
I hate this thing.
I parsed it over a period of twenty minutes just auto shotting (on Dr. Boom in Netherstorm):
Out of 389 hits I had 94 critical hits, and out of those 94 critical hit this trinket did NOT proc even once.
as of PTR Patch Release of May 8th, this trinket got its stats changed to:
Improves hit rating by 10.
Improves critical strike rating by 38.
Chance on critical hit to increase your attack power by 340 for 10 secs.
kinda hourglass ver. 2.0
09.05.2007, PTR v0.1.0.6655 - both and can proc at same time (tested with Hunter with 29.55%). You gain 640 AP !!!
The proc chance is actually 10% on a critical strike, clicking the effect shows this
Yep, tested it on PTR and got 45sec cooldown and proc is high
BTW has 50sec cooldown and about 0.6-0.55ppm when it's not on cooldown
not sure why you didn't read any of the above comments, but the proc can only occur once every 45 seconds. so saying you will have the proc on almost all the time is completely false.
Lets break this down for those who still dont understand.
You crit someone with a ranged or melee attack. the trinket procs and gives you an AP boost. You won't see another Proc of AP boost for at least another 45 seconds. Period. No matter how many more times you crit in that 45 second time period. Period! (That was an exclamation, but you get the point....... I hope)
best of the best, no doubt!
Even tho it has a hidden cooldown, the stats is still amazing.
Any dps warrior, rouge and hunter would benefit greatly from this.
If you are this far in the game, you would presume that these classes would at least have an avarage of 25-30% crit rating. So a proc a minute would be something towards a fair guess id say.
How does this compare to Bloodlust brooch, crusade card, hourglass in peoples eyes?
For a ret pally coupling this with hourglass is a far superior choice to other combo trinkets.
The proc boosts holy dmg from seals. Hourglass boosts the chance to score this proc. this trinket procs off white and holy critical hits from your melee swings. In essence you have 2 chances per swing to proc this effect doubling the ratios mentioned above converted to 2h of course.
I find its not hard to sit around 39% crit raid buffed.
This is a nice trinket for any ret paladin raiding or thinking about raiding past SSC -> TK and beyond.
If hunters and rogues and fury warriors all QQ about you receiving it its only because they are just mad that we make more use of ATP than they do.
Having a 45 sec-cd on the effect, this trinket gives a maximum of 340 AP for 10 seconds every 45 seconds.
340x10=3400AP/45=75,5 AVG AP.
In reality it is a bit lower, since you're not guaranteed to crit and procc it at the right time every 45 seconds
The trinket is best suited for someone with high crit% and fast attackspeed.
Ok, so our guild's downed Leo MANY MANY MANY times and this has not yet dropped!!!!! Are we just cursed or has anyone else experienced this?
This trinket is now inferior to
Shard Of Contempt
the expertise is perfect coupled with
I got this today on my retri pally, and it really is one the best raid trinkets for a retri. I'd say the only ones better are Berserker's Call and maybe Shard of Contempt (haven't look close enough on that yet).
You might already be hitcapped, but the crit and procc still is very powerful. It only proccs of critts, but with CS, seal and judgement you wont have a hard time getting it to procc.
This trinket is amazing.
that it's also sold by "Accessories Vendor" in Mulgore?? Is this a mistake? O_o
This item is way better than that mushroom that heals you for 400hp after you kill a mob. Most of my hits are crits since I'm a rogue and use slice and dice or however you spell that.
This is changed to purely dps tinket..
With the proc from hourglass and this one.. you have awsome crit and quite offen a good ap boost =)
This drops from Leo the aggro resetting bastard

Well, it's equally useful for any class that doesn't rely solely on casting for DPS, but it's nice to see they've included Ranged attacks among the proccing effects!
I would take this trinket just for the crit rating alone, the healing is an added bonus. 37 crit rating on a trinket for a mutilate rogue.. godly <3... until they come out with something better of course =)
Did this item used to have a +healing effect on it? Because I dont see one anymore.
Just like romeo's poison vial is maelstrom v2
This trinket is the much improved version of the the "hourglass of the unraveler"
This drops from leotheras the blind in serpentshrine cavern... think rogues loves this :D
The proc chance on this baby is 15%
with the upcoming patch, the stats on this baby will be buffed! here are the new stats:
+10 hit rating, +38 crit rating, Chance on crit to increase AP by 340 for 10 secs.
you must firs do Heroic Slave pens and get a quest (ssc attunement)
then go to karazan and kill nightbane (the harder boss on karazan).
you also have to clear gruuls lair (25 man raid).
after that go back to Heroic SP and turn in the quest, you will get attuned and be able to get inside the isntance.
anyway that instance is pretty hard if you dont have the right gear, classes and l33t players.
Does the proc from this stack with the Hourglass of the Unraveller?
Given the 15% proc rate, this is an amazing trinket for combat dagger rogues. Why? Because there is a 60%+ chance in any given 10 seconds that this trinket will proc for the average rogue. How, you say?
Your average dagger rogue has a 1.8 speed main hand and a 1.4 speed offhand. Further assume that slice and dice is up and that the rogue has a 30% base crit chance. And finally, assume that the rogue is backstabbing approximately twice per 10 seconds. (This is reasonable since with combat potency a combat rogue's energy generation is close to or better than 12 energy/second.)
Now, multiple procs aren't helpful to us, since theoretically they don't stack. And once a proc is up, it will last 10 seconds. So, what we really need to know is what the chance is that in 10 seconds this trinket won't proc
; IE, what are the chances that there will be some down time. This is a function of the inverse chance to proc on all attacks.
Chance to proc on any white attack:
Crit chance * proc chance (0.15*0.30) = 0.045
Chance to proc on any backstab:
Remember, backstabs have +30% crit chance, thus...
Crit chance * proc chance (0.15*0.60) = 0.09
Average chances to NOT proc:
White damage: 1-0.045 = 0.955
Backstabs: 1-0.09 = 0.910
Now, we have to figure out how many attacks are made in 10 seconds so we can figure out the chance that none of them will proc the trinket:
Attacks per 10 seconds:
Main hand: 10 / (1.8/1.3) ~= 7.2
Off hand: 10 / (1.4/1.3) ~= 9.3
Chance to NOT proc on all those attacks:
Main Hand chance to not proc: 0.955^7.2 = 0.718
Off Hand chance to not proc: 0.955^9.3 = 0.652
Backstab chance to not proc: 0.910^2 = 0.828
Total chance to NOT proc: 0.718*0.652*0.828 = 0.388
If there is a 38.8% chance that it won't proc at all, that means that
there is a 61.2% chance that it will proc at least once each 15 seconds
for your average dagger rogue. I'm sure that doesn't translate directly to uptime - presumably uptime will be even higher! But simply viewed as having a 61.2% chance to gain 340 attack power each 10 seconds you are in a long combat... that's awesome.
EDIT: Except that elsewhere it is stated that there is a hidden cooldown on this as well as the hourglass of the unraveller. >.> In any case, as soon as the hidden cooldown is up you have a 60%+ chance for it to re-proc within 10 seconds...
Poster above who says that most rogues should aim for 200 - 250 hit.
Hit rating is at 308 with 5/5 points in precision, and 2/2 points in weapon expertise.
Standard rogues should be "aiming" for +275 hit rating before they ease up on that pursuit. Having 280 is not "overload".
From Karazhan alone you can pull gear for 1650AP and +290 hit rating, so with some prioritization, standing at +275 - +290 hit rating shouldn't be too difficult.
i dont know why your all trying to qualify what classes this is for. its very simple. this trinket = hit chance, crit chance, AP proc, its that simple
DST remains the best rogue trinket in the game. Tsunami Talisman and Warp-Spring Coil are close enough in value that they can be regarded as equal.
Effect proc stacks with
Hourglass of the Unraveller
and does not share a hidden cooldown.
Lol i got it on my first ever run in Coilfang i'm a very happy Rogue :D
42% crit raid buffed without leader of the pack as a beast hunter is not possible not a full t6 hunter could have that now please provide a armory link to your character =)
Just grabed this last night fun V-Day SSC run GM was very particular on who could roll on this since we dont run SSC anymore me and rogue Great hunter trinket but, good for any other DPS class for sure now of course Feral druids could pass to rogues and hunter as well as DPS warriors and shamans since they are tanking on trash most the time
Edit: And the guy above sorry hunter hit is very important look at T6 no hit on the entire set GG rogue gear has a good amount of hit please think before bashing people for no reason on thottbot none the less
The perfect fury warrior trinket to pair with Solarian's Sapphire. Rogue's seem to be going for Warp-spring Coil/Dragonspine Trophy. The hunter class trinket seems to blow unless you are MM, so I imagine this trinket rocks for you hunters. Some of our hunters are hit capped atm and trying to find ways to lose the extra hit rating so I'm crossing my fingers and saving my dkp.
anyone know if the hidden cooldown on this is shared with the hourglasses hidden cooldown or are they both separate?
enough with the class priorities
good for any physical dps class a !@#$%^ can see that
pitty it never seems to drop
This is a Hunter item and great for BM and SV Hunters.
At SSC level a Hunter is probably at about 25%-30% crit chance. BM works off of attacking with 1:1 and having a 1.80-1.90 attack speed. BM Hunters should be criting a lot, even if the crits aren't as high because of the fast speed.
This is one of the best trinkets for a BM Hunter. The other two would be Berserker's Call and Dragonspine Trophy.
See where I am going with this?
Unless it says "Melee attacks have a chance to -----" or has the Expertise Rating...AND it boosts crit-Hit-AP...It's going to be good for: Enhance Shamans, Feral Druids, Fury Warriors, Hunters, Rogues.
I know all you rogues and warriors hate it and all, but unless it's a melee proc, +Str, or +Expt it's something that is just as good for a Hunter as it is for you =/...
P.S. I'd only NOT roll on this if all the melee DPS I just mentioned stopped rolling on DST and Berserker's Call...A.k.A...Not going to happen.
this trinket has been ninjaed by a rogue, while a hunter had more dkp from him...
