Excellent DPS headpiece. Not far behind tier 6.
this thing is better than my current helm. and i'm glad that they added the specs from Ultra-Spectropic Detection Goggles to it; i could of saved a lot of mats if i knew these goggles were coming out sooner.
These are amazing. I wuld almost be tempted to reroll my JC itno an engineer for these.
I did just that and haven't looked back ^^ It's hell leveling through 300 but once you hit 300 it's not too bad.
Wow this is a really nice helm lacking in hit but still very nice
This item is so great that I am rolling engineering just for it.
Total Mats Needed:
30 Knothide Leather
10 Mote of Fire
32 Fel Iron Ore
120 Adamantite Ore
16 Eternium Ore
6 Khorium Ore
2 Living Ruby
Latest PTR patch, buffed to:
Socket bonus +4 crit rating
+10 hit rating
+26 crit rating
Retains same mats and special goggle bonuses.
Where are the screenshots.
I've mined enough for both these and the Tankatronic ones. I can't wait for the patch.
As of the 5/7 PTR patch, crafting these has required a Primal Nether. The stats have also been modified.
what skill level do you need to make these when they come out??
Kind of a dumb question, but can Paladins learn this pattern? I know there are some weird class restrictions with what goggle patterns people can learn.
This is a very great goggle. I've used it until I had 2 pieces of the Warbringer dps set for the 2set bonus. The mats can be quite costly which is the only drawback. The extra stealth detection is ignorable since it's so minimal and being able to look at arcane vortexes is something I never understood because I never saw any...
What are these "gas clouds" they mention in the helm tooltip?
I think it's strange that the lenses on these goggles are blue. They should be red! Anyone ever notice that?
The mats for all of the epic goggles are the same except for the 2 gems, but I know at least for the plate ones...
these use red gems but have blue lenses
the healing ones use yellow gems and have greenish/blue lenses
the tanking ones use green gems but have yellow lenses!
These googles are really one of the best head slot item in the game (for ret. paladins and warrs ofc.). They give you 38 crit. rating and an additional 4 if you have the right gems. Thats 42 crit rating, like wtf and if you look on other stats and effects...Really an item worthy of going engineering all the way to 350. Not so expensive mats either. :P
can acctually be crafted @ lvl 60, thus making imba item for lvl 60 pvp
I wrote a guide to getting this helm and good gems here as a level 59:
Basically you have to get
and use a
which will activate the Meta gem without needing any other gems in your gear.
Great for my 59 twink warrior.
I'm wondering if there are any 59 paladins out there also, and how do they do in BGs?
EDIT: Ok now I hear they are putting a level requirement on these:
If this is true I'll be a sad bunny.
Best head piece for a ret paladin short of tier 6, just stick a
in the blue socket, glyph of the outcast, and you have an excellent dps helm that adds 17 intel and 2 mp5 - most ret dont stack any mp5, but I find that BoW + a few mp5 gems makes my mana pool go much farther...spell pushback on SoC proc FTL :(
How's is this compared to ? That's the one I'm using right now from VR. I've been dying to have these so I picked up Engi.
Well, I'm a fury warrior and I'm told to stack up on Hit Rating. Would it be worth it?
Here's the thing: if the base chance for a DW warrior to miss his abilities (yellow attacks) is 9%, then you'd only need 6% hit chance from gear (which is approximatly 95 hit rating) and 3% hit chance from
...past that hit cap, it's completly stupid to continue stacking hit, because then it would ONLY affect 50% of your attacks (white damage)...Strength, AP, Crit Rating, even Agility, are after that much more useful.
In brief, as a Fury Warrior you don't need so crazy amount of hit (really, 150 rating should be the big maximum), and these goggles are amazing for any dps warrior, be he Arms or Fury, and if you are an engineer and can afford these, there's just no reason not to get it even though it doesn't have the best hit rating...Engineering ftw! ^^
Too bad that there is this stupid Primal Nether in the components list! (I'm lvl 52 pally) :(
These might have been buffed quite a bit during the PTR period to around 56 strength and 40something stamina, and then readjusted to the current stats (along with slapping a Primal Nether in as a regent), but these are still the undisputed kings of the helms for a DPS warrior.
worth the mat cost.
I know ret pallies aren't common in raids, but could these be trained to a pally? or is it warriors only?
anyone got a screenshot for this item?
Thank you oh blizz design team for finally making engineering less worthless!
Hmm, rerolling profession on my warr because of these.
these are the coolest things in the world, i wonder wat they will look like (*hint hint* screenshot?)
finaly some goggles i can use about time blizzard keep it coming
You can get these off the Master Engineer trainer in Honor Hold.
They are cheap to make :D a nice epic every plate engineer can get =) finaly something for us to.
I am a blacksmith miner but i am very seriously considering going engineering blacksmithing and making a mining alt (maybe mining herbalism). That tanking helm is insane and the dps one is almost as insane. The gun is ok but when u trying to buff your stam i guess every bit helps.
oh, thanks blizz... for adding these the day after i rerolled BS because of the worthlessness of enginnering... but very nice, i must say :)
Furious gizmatic goggles
+4 crit socket bonus
13 hit rating
38 crit rating
Overlord's Helmet of Second Sight
yellow socket x2
+4 str socket bonus
13 hit rating
24 crit rating
So what this breaks down to is Furious gizmatic goggles have 398 more armor points,15 more str, 18 higher crit rating, and the exact same hit rating bonus as Overlord's Helmet of Second Sight. And last, meta socket and a blue socket beats the living tar out of blue socket yellow socket x2 any day of the week and possibly some days that arent even part of the week....maybe Muesday or Wednursday? /cough I digress. To answer the question which is better these or Overlord's Helmet of Second Sight, these %$#@ stomp Overlord's. Also, you dont haft to deal with the ^%$#ing horsemen in shadowmoon with these babies. I wont bother listing the gladiators plate stats because we all know its better than these as it should be with all of the frigging arena crap you haft to put up with to get it. I know im pretty psyched about these, and cant wait til I get my eng up to 350 in a day or 2.
Equip: Slightly increases your stealth detection.
better then glad gear
when u get them u need to get the song "You're The Best Around" cuz thats what it is
If you create these, and then drop engineering, will you not be able to equip them anymore?
Too funny how u can get to 300 engineering for roughly 100g but then afterwards it turns into all hell on your cash to skill up unless u mine your own, which i dont cause im nubsauce XD
IMO you should get the Merciless Gladiator Helm last since these are fairly near it in quality, gotta prioritize on your Arena Point spending =P
About being hell on cash ... Compared to leatherworking, tailoring, blacksmithing and alchemy and you will realize that you need very many primals in the other professions beyond 350. Engineering isn't too hard to level that way (take lots of mining though or some expensive trips to the AH). The moneymakers are as always skinning, mining and herbalism ofc. Changed from skinning to engineering before TBC as leatherworking wasn't a creative thing but needed. I skilled up the engineering now.. Still working on the leatherworking (hope someone buy some riding crops).
Engineering isn't too hard to level with an alt miner and with fused wiring schematic you might find repair bots will get cheaper one day so useful as well.
What are the arcane vortexes of netherstorm that u are supposed to see with this head?
Heroics were created for casual players who didn't have the time to raid but still wanted epics. Saying that you are casual but not good enough for heroics is silly.
59 warrior with the goggles
This is inaccurate.
1) Yes you can make both
2) Its at engineering 350
3) oh and its possible to get a nether out of heroics, for example, i got mine out of normal Black Morass the other day, was incredibly pleased ^^
2x Hardened Adamantite Tube
\______ 6x Hardened Adamantite Bar
60x Adamantite Bar
(120 adamantite ore)
1x Khorium Power Core
3x Khorium Bar
(6x Khorium Ore)
(10x mote for fire)
4x Felsteel Stabalizer
\______ 8x Felsteel Bar
24x Fel Iron Bar
(48x Fel Iron Ore)
16x Eternium Bar
(32x Eternium Ore)
6x Heavy Knothide Leather
30x Knothide Leather
(150x Knothide Leather Scraps)
1x Primal Nether
2x Living Ruby
You would have to be run through an outland instance and have the nether drop. It would be a massive pain but if you're really that big into twinking, these are the best goggles currently in the game for twink warriors.
But the plans for the level 70 version of these drop in sunwell plateu. the best raiding guild on my server couldnt down the first boss... GL!
these are simple to make now, even easier with a 70 main or friend. Nethers r not soulbound anymore so on ur 70 u can get that and if ur 70 is also mining u can get most of the mining mats needed to make these. Getting these on my pally at 62 for sure, gonna help alot for lvling.
